You know even if Brad is not nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the Oscars, I think he will show up if babel is nominated as Best Film. He’s has always supported this film, as we all know. Speaking of Phillipe, I think he’s attractive and all but does anybody else feel like he’s, for lack of a better word, cold? It has always given me pause that his ex Reese was always so bubbly and full of personality but he always seemed so detached. As I remember from different interviews about the documentary, Angelina was somewere in Africa that day filming her part of documentary ( Congo, Niger or Chad, sorry, can’t remember correctly). I remember, though, she send her friends to other different spots in the world that same day. Anne Hathaway went to Cambodia, J. L. Miller to Angola, Ryan Gosling to Sudan and I am sure that Jude Law also went to Africa. This is all I remember, sorry.

Wow! Saw the Access Hollywood Video and even though I could barely hear what they were saying (wassup with that?, AH couldn’t sift out the background noise?) I couldn’t take my eyes off them. I mean seriously….you could just see how much they didn’t like each other, how waxy they looked, How totally bored they seemed with the whole thing, why at one point AJ had ahuge yawn on her face and BP was almost falling asleep. (In case you missed it….I am being SACARSTIC!) Stupid Faniston’s who won’t know love if it smacked them on their left cheek. It still amuses me that they bring up the PDA between JA and BP. You guys, have you ever sat back and realised that if they are so much in ‘love’, why do oyu protest too much to a point pf desperation. I mean just re- read all your posts, hey calm down love speaks for itsself, apart from the Brangelina love which has spokespersons and commentators on Justjared to tell us,

‘yeah, they look so in love, they are looking good, they are so committed to each other’ duh! We know what we see!!!

The AH video is sweet. :) But as I watched the video all I could think was “Dang, I could have used that shot of him looking at her in my video” lol I need help.

I have to admit I was wrong about Brad and Angelina hiring some one to clear up the rumors and false interview quotes. They don’t need to.

I guess I was overwhelmed by the hate being spewed yesterday on sevearl blogs. I usually avoid them but for some wierd reason, I read what was being written, and I walked away feeling angry and disgusted by people’s words. I know the rumors are still being spread today and it’s getting worse…..but I guess I just needed to think rather than react emotionally.

People in this country like to build people up, knock them down, and then root them on for a comeback. But people are pissed that they haven’t been able to knock down Brad and Angelina. They feel that these two should have suffered for whatever actions they took and now they are throwing a hissy fit because they don’t see Brad and Angelina crying their eyes out and apologizing to the public for ruining their fantasy about the “golden couple”.

But I realized something. It’s a one sided game. Brad and Angelina are not paying attention to the media and haters.

You can only knock down some to their knees if they allow you to. If you don’t allow yourself to fall prey to what the detractors say, no one can hurt you. There are many public personas who allow the public to guide their lives and rely on their support for their livelyhood.

But because these two never allowed someone else the power to build them up, no one else can knock them down either. Angelina is who she is because she chose to be that way. Same goes for Brad. I think many people have come realize that and it irks them that they don’t have the power to cut B&A at the knees.

Pitt is ranked 20th in Forbes’ list of powerful celebrities and earns an estimated $20 million a movie.

But he increasingly has gained respect for being more than just a pretty face. To those in the business, his appeal is as obvious as those piercing baby blues.

“He is arguably one of the biggest stars in the world, if not the biggest. Men want to be him, and women want to be with him,” says Jerry Weintraub, who has produced the Ocean’s movie franchise and has been friends with Pitt for years.

Pitt’s career has never been better. He’s starring in unconventional films that show his grizzled side, such as Babel. And through Plan B, he is producing edgy projects such as Running With Scissors and the current box office hit The Departed. He’s also producing A Mighty Heart, starring girlfriend Jolie, 31, as the widow of murdered reporter Daniel Pearl.

In Babel, Pitt plays a helpless husband who tries to save his wife, who is accidentally shot while on a tense vacation in Morocco. Variety praises Pitt for giving his character “weight and strength,” and the Hollywood Reporter calls his performance “committed.”

Bring up Pitt’s name to anyone associated with him, and you hear stories of personal thank-you notes, congratulatory e-mails and a level of thoughtfulness unusual in a star of his caliber.

“Brad is not pretentious. There’s nothing artsy-fartsy about him,” says Running With Scissors director Ryan Murphy. “Brad is incredibly enthusiastic. I heard he’d liked the script, and I met him at the (production) offices, and here come these handmade Prada shoes with Brad Pitt attached. He said something to me like, ‘You’ve got wicked skills.’ ”

That unaffectedness, says Simon Kinberg, who wrote the 2005 hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith, “is kind of an amazing thing. It’s not a game or strategy with him.”

In particular, Kinberg remembers one long day of shooting when the exhausted cast and crew had worked into the night and saw no end in sight.

“Brad, out of the blue, started doing jumping jacks, calling out to the crew, getting everyone’s spirits up at 4 a.m. at some awful diner in downtown L.A.,” Kinberg says. “He was the guy who would cheerlead for the movie — and he didn’t have to. He’s the top, and the energy flows from the top down.”

Pitt doesn’t mind looking less than perfect. In Babel, he goes gray and has bags under his eyes.

This isn’t a star with blockbuster on the brain. Ever since he stole hearts in 1991’s Thelma & Louise, he has had hits (1995’s serial killer drama Se7en, last year’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith), but just as many misses (1997’s Seven Years in Tibet, 2004’s Troy). He has earned one Oscar nomination, for his supporting turn in 1995’s Twelve Monkeys. These days, Pitt mixes it up. He took a pay cut for 2007’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, but he’s also reprising Rusty Ryan in the third Ocean’s installment, due in June.

Film historian Leonard Maltin applauds Pitt’s willingness to “sacrifice some of his movie-star persona for the sake of a really good part. What we’re seeing is his willingness, if not downright eagerness, to challenge himself with more demanding and daring roles.”

And that gets major props from Darren Aronofsky, who was ready to direct Pitt in The Fountain before the actor dropped out because of creative differences.

“Brad’s a great guy, and we’re still friendly. We’re OK with the breakup,” Aronofsky says. “Brad’s a really smart, very talented guy. He’s come to a place in his work where he’s doing interesting stuff. He’s looking great. The pretty-boy thing wasn’t my type of hetero joy. I like the wizened Brad now.”

Others appreciate his taste for the unconventional, such as his decision to executive-produce the documentary God Grew Tired of Us: The Story of Lost Boys of Sudan. Writer/director Christopher Quinn had run out of money and says that, without Pitt’s help, the movie would likely not have been made. Quinn, introduced through their mutual friends, met Pitt at his home.

The meeting was casual and Pitt was disarming. But, Quinn says, he “has incredible follow-through. When we won (two awards) at Sundance, he sent me a note saying how proud he was to be a part of the movie.”

Sci-fi romance to be directed by Schwentke

By DAVE MCNARYNew Line has tapped Bruce Joel Rubin to rewrite sci-fi romance “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” to be directed by Robert Schwentke.

“Wife,” produced by Brad Pitt via his Plan B shingle and Nick Wechsler, has been in development at New Line since 2003, when the minimajor acquired feature rights to Audrey Niffenegger’s novel. “Wife,” which hadn’t been published when the deal was made, went on to become a bestseller.

Novel centers on a Chicago librarian with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel, brought on by stress and bad memories. He meets and falls in love with a teenage heiress, but the couple’s often out of sync because of his time traveling.

Rubin won an Oscar for scripting “Ghost”; other credits include “Stuart Little 2″ and “Deep Impact.”

It’s just that the lurkers/occasional posters got to me. Some of them were right about some of the things we’ve been doing. The haters don’t give two $h*ts about retractions, youtube tributes, BA fansites; they do care about dirt and getting our goats by rubbing things in. We shouldn’t give them the bullets, much less the gun. Let them work for it, whatever it is that they are after.

These ‘people’ are like that yellow dude in Sin City; being brutal doesn’t get them off until cries are uttered. We don’t have a Bruce Willis to pound their heads into applesauce, so it is up to us to not utter a single sound. At least, I’m going to try to use that visual to keep my mouth shut when they talk $h*t!!!

You know what I love and admire about Angie the most? Her strength. The press and the public have been trying to take her down for over a year now and they still have not managed to do that. She has been called every bad and vile name under the sun, she has had people ridiculing her causes, her children have been attacked, so much ill will has been sent her way, and yet she is still standing. Now, how many people do you know who would not have broken down under it all? Throughout the weekend and yesterday, everywhere were articles accusing her of different things, but what did she do last night? Go out on the town with Brad and support him and still talked to the press like nothing was wrong. They looked very good by the way. I am in the group of people that are glad she didn’t correct the Shiloh comment along with Madonna’s. It is her business and her family’s business and she doesn’t owe any of us an explanation. It will not make me to stop being a fan of hers just because of words that were taken out of context, in fact all the attacks and spewed hate on her and her family will just make me be more of a fan.

Ok, I won’t kick her while she’s down, MORE, but these pic’s are new for me (”so many! it’s like every few hours a new pops up!”) and the more I see, the more I without question believe the Pitts are just as crazy about Angelina as Brad is. They have to see how genuinely nice and real she is. How she seriously loves Brad and supports him in everything……….sidebar: tonight they show even more footage, and they asked Angelina if she was proud of Brad and she had this big smile and said “very much so” and that’s the exact same thing he said when asked about being proud of her at the TGS premiere! They have not only see, but “feel” how happy and content he is, and simply joyful about his life.

I’m not saying they should toss the past to the wind. I don’t believe people should discard others simply because they aren’t in your life as they once were. I don’t know if they communicate with JA, but if they do, I really see no issue with that. They cared for her in the past, and you just don’t cut that off. Anyway, these pictures just are to illuminating about what they mean to each other, and after reading how they spent 5 days with them, I really believe she’s accepted and liked.

Altho Angie says she doesnt pay any attention to tabloid rumour and gossip and i do believe her, (their life is so busy and full anyway) it is likely that somehow, they are made aware that there are a lot of haters out there, even tho they know from their first-hand experience that there’s a lot of love out there for them from their fan base and admirers around the world.

Hard to believe that Chinnochio could ride this Pitty Party for so long….she must have had her fans working night and day voting.

Given the wonderful videos and photos of my favorite couple from last night, it makes her seem all the more like a blip on the radar since Brad has found Angelina. Imagine how far his life has come…instead of BBQ’s with the Cox Arquettes and X, he is dining with Robert DeNiro and Angelina.

I just told my husband that X won the Pity Award, and he said “Who would vote for her”….he says I’d vote for Natalie Portman before her…then as Boston Legal comes on, Candace Bergen and another actress that I don’t know are on the screen, and he says “There’s two other better actresses than X” Then just shakes his head. LOL

Now he’s naming all the actresses that he would vote for….and he is still talking….what did I start here?

Gotta love the entertainment….he just now said to me “What about Gwyneth?” Too funny.

Stardust…I now realize why Stephen is going on BOR show….he’s being a good Samaritan and helping him out lol A few months back he called Stephen a “secular progressive” even though he’s a devout Catholic like him. At that time, Stephen didn’t bite but I think after seeing the slow drop in his ratings BOR realizes that he needs a boost and Stephen is perfect for that. Because on average TDS and TCR has 1.3 million viewers each night which is pretty impressive for a cable network and they’re also competing against the network late night shows. TDS and TCR’s ratings are more than half of BOR.

Then there’s the fact that BOR is really reaching now. He actually had a body language expert (as we all know we’ve had a share of them on here) on his show and she pointed the physical “liberal” mannerisms of NBC reporters. Now I of course didn’t watch this but Scarborough did and he had his own expert who said that BOR’s “Debating style” is very similar to a primate’s behavior. :lol: He (BOR)said that MSNBC doesn’t really have any conservatives on there…I guess Scarborough, that old gasbag Imus and Tucker don’t matter to him at all lol Just when I think he can’t get any crazier he hits a new level.

Oh and here’s the Geraldo scoop. He was doing a radio interview where like his BFF BOR, he accused MSNBC of being biased. Then he went into a tirade about KO calling him a “midget”, a “punk” and he even said that he would make a “pizza out of him” if they ever fought. :lol:

Oh, I have created an animal….he has Boston Legal on the biggest part of the screen and the Pitty Choice Party in the little corner screen and now every actress that comes on, he will say “She’s a better actress than X”…. Halle Berry did look really great as she accepted her award.

I will look up when movies have to be released to be in contention for awards, but I thought it was anything released in the previous year, but I am not sure.

You know what I love and admire about Angie the most? Her strength. The press and the public have been trying to take her down for over a year now and they still have not managed to do that. She has been called every bad and vile name under the sun, she has had people ridiculing her causes, her children have been attacked, so much ill will has been sent her way, and yet she is still standing. Now, how many people do you know who would not have broken down under it all? Throughout the weekend and yesterday, everywhere were articles accusing her of different things, but what did she do last night? Go out on the town with Brad and support him and still talked to the press like nothing was wrong. They looked very good by the way. I am in the group of people that are glad she didn’t correct the Shiloh comment along with Madonna’s. It is her business and her family’s business and she doesn’t owe any of us an explanation. It will not make me to stop being a fan of hers just because of words that were taken out of context, in fact all the attacks and spewed hate on her and her family will just make me be more of a fan.

Though Brad looks really bad these days, he has wacky fans like you guys who would vote tirelessly, I guess truth triumphed over Zeal and obsession.

Brad also won nothing at the awards on monday, poor sweetie, and his bad looks have rubbed off Angelina, poor Angel! All the British tabloids think he is on his way out, I guess, his time is up. Didn’t mind him a lot befre Angelina, but I never could stand an ass licke, a poodle or a male ***** could I????

CNN Showbiz Tonight did a nice piece of the movie. Like the young men had to learn about a light switch. I guess coming to the US was a big culture shock for them. I really hope I can see this movie. Also showed a short interview with Brad and Angelina about the movie.

Original jpf: I agree about the Pitts. I’ve never read anything suggesting that they are either stupid or crazy. I can believe that they were not happy that Braddy was getting divorced, and that they wanted to be supportive of the MARRIAGE. But that was then; this is now. Angie is the mother of Brad’s children. No matter what happens to Brad & Angie, this woman will always be in their lives. So the smart money is on them liking, even loving her, giving her the benefit of the doubt — at the very least. U know i was thinking, IMO, Angie is a Woman of Substance.
She uses her time fruitfully and for causes. E.g, we don’t see Angie in all occassions that Brad goes to……..like 2 days ago, when Brad was at Palm Spring and she was not there…… and then for this premiere she is with Brad. This particular film is somethin i think is close to Angie’s heart as much as it is to Brad. It touches a group of people which she see as survivors.
What i mean is ….. she is not the typical go for glamour kinda of an actress. She probably weigh her time between being a mom and going for some function. And since the function were 2 days in a row and her kids are probably needing the rest, both herself and Brad decides which one she should and ought to go. :)
This is just my observation. I may be wrong.

Even when the studios are promoting major productions it can sometimes be difficult to get the big stars out onto the red carpet. God Grew Tired Of Us, an independently made documentary about four Somalian immigrants, pulled off quite a coup, therefore, when it managed to attract some of the biggest names in the industry to its LA premiere.

Brad Pitt and his Oscar-winning partner Angelina Jolie were both in attendance for the event, along with silver screen favourite Nicole Kidman and renowned character actor Edward Norton. At first glance the movie, which follows the experiences of four young boys as they try to escape their war-torn homeland and build a new life in the US, might not seem typical Hollywood fare. The flick became something of a cause celebre, though, as Brad teamed up with Nicole to make sure it got made.

While the Babel star acted as executive producer on the flick, his Australian collaborator stepped into the role of narrator. And, given Angelina’s work with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, it would be fair to assume Brad’s partner was also keen to see the fruits of their work. Brad and Nicole’s efforts certainly seem to have paid off as the film has received glowing reviews, as well as two awards at the Sundance Festival.

I have to say I can see hypocrisy on both sides tbh. I don’t have any problem about there being threads about her because I appreciate that she does have fans and admirers - just that I’m not one of them, I can’t see her huge appeal myself, but hey each to their own. Good morning. If we want to set the tone for a good day, we need to discuss something positive. Do not respond to a negative post that ruins the thread. Set a good tone with a good topic. Brad and Angie have movies we can discuss, they are humanitarians, they have a lot of good things going. Do not take the bait when the hater wants to set a bad tone.

What we see for ourselves is that Brad and Angie are very happy. Angie says her life is harmonious, she’s at peace. The only way tabloids can sell is when they lie about them or twist their words. Again do not take the bait when rumors are planted.
