The Double Life of Wentworth Miller

The Double Life of Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller could melt a thousands hearts (and then some) in his new photoshoot from Italian fashion/design magazine D: la Repubblica delle Donne (The Republic of the Women). He is featured in the “La Doppia Vita Di Un Bravo Ragazzo” (The Double Life Of A Good Boy) article. Went talks about everything from the second season of Prison Break to his private life.

Here are a few rough translations from Wentworth Miller’s interview with D:

  • “Michael is an extreme example of devotion and loyalty. If one of my relatives ended up in prison, I probably would not stop writing petitions, making telephone calls, hiring the best lawyers. But I would not go beyond that. ………. you have to last six months in one true prison in order to face the first season of Prison Break.”
  • “I do not even have time to breathe. The series absorbs all of my time and energy that I have. We are on the set from twelve to the seventeen hours a day, five days a week, and when the weekend arrives, I do not want to make other ……… watch the wall. I only eat, sleep and “recharge my batteries”. …….. I don’t find myself comfortable at bars or nightclubs. I prefer to be at home playing Scrabble or going to dinner with the friends. ….. all 14 seasons of Law & Order or The Simpsons.”

More translations from the article after the jump thanks to Anto!!

  • “Michael is a just man, clean, he borders on the hero profile, but he has to soil his hands to succeed in his attempt”
  • “I was curious to see how they would made it, also because I confess that at the beginning the idea had seemed absurd to me. We have faced it like a real story, but the universe created around it is that one of a comic book, that allows to you to try anything. A large part of the success of the series, I suppose, comes exactly from the fact that he does not fear the absurdity. It’s a puzzle that the public amuses itself to solve as goes ahead.”
  • “I have worked a lot on Michael’s psychology: public has to convince itself he is able to do the impossible. But you have to abandon yourself to the universe of the comic, to believe that an ordinary man can makes to lock up himself in a maximum security prison, with the terror that it can strike, because he is determined to exit with his brother. Michael is a bit like Steve McQueen, maybe even a bit arrogant. But in the second season we see, in a flash-back, Michael’s life and the deep relation he has with his brother.”
  • “Is the most ambitious false tattoo of the history of the television! This certitude makes the hours spend in the make-up room tolerable. Fortunately we have to do the entire tattoo just once per episode: generally you see just an arm, the chest, the neck, therefore the hours for the application come down considerably. But we have to shoot in a hurry when I have it, because it will deteriorate in the course of 24 hours.”
  • “Yes. We have shot into Joliet penitentiary, closed in 2002, but every day came on the set 150 between true former prisoners and guards of that jail, as appearances. Once a man came near and said to me: ‘I have spent 6 years in Joliet as prisoner and work for this show is the beautiful thing that happened to me from 1984, when I was arrested.’”
  • Your dream was to do movies: does the TV satisfy you? Me too, like many other actors, when I moved to Los Angeles I thought that to have success meant to be Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts. Instead today I believe that we don’t appreciate enough the cleverness and the talent of the actors that work, day after day, in the TV shows. I was not sure that I liked to play the same character for months and months, but now I enjoy it. And then, with all the jobless actors there are in turn, if you succeed to make what you love and to come paid for, you can really say to have caught up the success.”

I’m trying to translate but is quite hard for me to translate from italian to english, even if I’m italian and study english…I hope you will understand my little translation…

“Michael is a just man, clean, he borders on the hero profile, but he has to soil his hands to succeed in his attempt”

going on….

“For an actor who wants to do it seriously, this series is a fascinating plan, a romantic adventure that emerges from the underworld of a penitentiary.
To tell stories about friendship, loyalty, it speaks about the family proceeding to zigzag between theories of the conspiracy, hard action, labyrinthical plots.”

too good to be true! careful ladies!

African proverb: too serious is not serious

an absolutely beautiful man! born to be looked at! and articulate to boot…*sigh*

(about his reaction to the idea of a story about a man that sacrifices all things to save his brother)

“I was curious to see how they would made it, also because I confess that at the beginning the idea had seemed absurd to me. We have faced it like a real story, but the universe created around it is that one of a comic book, that allows to you to try anything. A large part of the success of the series, I suppose, comes exactly from the fact that he does not fear the absurdity. It’s a puzzle that the public amuses itself to solve as goes ahead.”

He’s gay. A guy just recently came out saying he had a long term relationship with Went. WTF kind of name is Wet For Went that is disgusting. If he read this board do you really think he would be impressed with that name I think not. He’s to sophicated and classy to even like something like that

(about the second season)

“I have worked a lot on Michael’s psychology: public has to convince itself he is able to do the impossible. But you have to abandon yourself to the universe of the comic, to believe that an ordinary man can makes to lock up himself in a maximum security prison, with the terror that it can strike, because he is determined to exit with his brother. Theja - source please if you’re gonna throw around the ‘gay’ nonsense. And try a sense of humour on for size - the whole ‘Wet For Went’ schtick is a JOKE!

Bellissime foto..articolo carino…ma mi son persa la repubblica..sigh

believe what you will, i’m not saying he isn’t gay, but he is the supporting lead on a popular show that has a healthy female following. of course he would have to deny any less-than-hetero appearances in order to keep a fan base and ratings. i don’t care if he is gay or not, doesn’t matter to me, but his whole pc statement made me think wow, he’s gay, and wow, he has a really bad publicist telling him what to do.

Love ‘em.. Thanxxx for posting !

Oh man, Nobody in their right mind can look at him and not want to faint! Damn. Sexy, sexy for sure!!

matrioska @ 01/15/2007 at 9:18 am

when he said nothing about it people said he was gay because he didn’t denied it, when he said he’s not people started to say he’s gay because he denied it… WHAT A STRANGE WORLD!!! Anyway Wentworth is the winner when he says you can think what you want!!!

Thanks Italy for these beautiful pictures!!!

(about the tatoo)

“Is the most ambitious false tatoo of the history of the television! This certitude makes the hours spend in the make-up room tolerable. Fortunately we have to do the entire tatoo just once per episode: generally you see just an arm, the chest, the neck, therefore the hours for the application come down considerably. But we have to shoot in a hurry when I have it, because it will deteriorate in the course of 24 hours.”

A bit of fun info, I was watching a rerun of Underworld and Went has a minor role as Scott Speedman’s colleague in the hospital. He had longer hair then and wore glasses in the role! Thought Wentworth Millar fans would like to know :)

(about shooting with real prisoners)

“Yes. We have shot into Joliet penitentiary, closed in 2002, but every day came on the set 150 between true former prisoners and guards of that jail, as appearances. Once a man came near and said to me: “ I have spent 6 years in Joliet as prisoner and work for this show is the beautiful thing that happened to me from 1984, when I was arrested”.”

Wentworth Fan @ 01/15/2007 at 9:58 am

It doesn’t get any better than this.

Speechless @ 01/15/2007 at 9:59 am

Also, THANKS for translating Anto!

Unbelievable…..I just don’t know what else to say besides, ‘Beautiful.’ Wentworth is so beautiful, completely and unbelievably beautiful. It is kind of freaky how handsome he is, really.

The first pic especially. How in the world do his eyes glow like that? He is definitely the most beautiful man I have EVER seen at this point in my life. In this shoot, he just oozes sex. Incredible.

Q.: - Your dream was to do movies: does the TV satisfy you?-

W.M.: “Me too, like many other actors, when I moved to Los Angeles I thought that to have success meant to be Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts.

Went is BREATH-TAKING as ALWAYS !

You are welcome!
If I have done translation mistakes, I’m sorry! :)
