I’m sorry. Did you say ‘washed up cheating scumbag’? That would be Eddie Murphy to a tee. This movie pulled his tuchas out of animation h*ll, and I’m glad for it. But really. Let’s ask Scary Spice and her unborn (now fatherless) baby for their analysis.

Brad was nominated for a Globe, will most likely be nominated for an Oscar, and is one of the hottest producers in Hollywood, that’s a clear message that BRAD PITT IS HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY, and a clear message to ‘the Man,’ that she is on the ‘Do Not Revive’ list in terms of her career.

Wow - what’s really lame is that some hater would come here to gloat over Eddie’s win - now THAT’S an unhealthy obsession/loonie. The fact remains that a film Brad helped produce, as well as act in, was nominated for 7 Golden Globes (we still have more to go!) and the Oscars are still on the way

What’s more, this level of work is expected from Brad - nobody expected Jennifer Hudson or Eddie Murphy to come out of nowhere and do so well in Dreamgirls. I say good for them! Can’t wait to see this all on TV soon…

I saw Eddie Murphy and basically he got a good part to play in Dreamgirls. One thing though, he had more material to work with, unlike Brad, who was in the movie less than 30 mins. Someone judging Eddie vs Brad has alot more to work with and/or judge when it comes to Eddie than Brad. Plus, his character played all kinds of roles - from a drug addict to a singer of the time. In each role, he pulled what I call the *In Living Colour* skit typical of the Wayans brothers - you know those of us who grew up listening to these guys singing in the 60s and 70s and thus knows each nusance, move, gesture, energetic dance and so forth. Not to say it was an easy role but the role might have been natural to Eddie as it would be for one of the Wayans brothers or any of those brothers doing a comedy skit on comdey channel.

Brad on the other hand, had to play a very anti-Brad Pitt role. Going against the what is expected of him. Plus, he was given very little material to begin with but did a excellent job with what he got. Compare to Eddie’s role, I can see them giving the award to Eddie over Brad simply because there is alot more to Eddie’s role, thus more to see and come up with a really good idea of his acting, he was natural in the role as it is a role that even I think Eddie could have pulled off and it is simpler compare to Pitt’s role which is so anti-Brad Pitt, short though he too pulled it off.

Guys, though I think Eddie should have gotten into the supp actor category on his sheer body of work + the Dreamgirls role…I saw Eddie Murphy in Dreamgirls, I don’t personally think he should have won or even been nominated - and I may be in the minority…but that didn’t look like top notch ‘acting’ to me…it looked like one of his over the top sketches from an old SNL, or if the donkey in Shrek came to life and was James ‘Thunder’ Early - he was like a broke 3rd rate James Brown, and he was mugging way too much…there were no nuances, and his singing was not that great. I have the original soundtrack from dreamgirls, and that’s what I’m comparing it too. The guy who did it on Broadway, did it better to the 10th power.

Nah, I really thought Murphy would win because it’s the type of showy part that wins awards. Voters love those singing parts too—Jamie Foxx, Reese W., Joaquin Phoenix in last year’s GG, and now Hudson and Murphy.

On E! earlier there was a guy who said the biggest winner of the night was Brad Pitt. Because Babel had the most noms and because he produced The Departed and Running With Scissors which got multiple nominations. LMAO at these haters who can’t see just how powerful this man really is. It’s so funny how they are react to this couple. It just shows how dumb they really are.

Clniqua - you have said exactly what I wanted to say about Eddie in the movie.

I guess, what I mean is any brother, even Eddie can pull it off because these are kind of songs that I assume he grew up listening to, dancing too. etc etc. In short, he was familiar about the singers, history and time of the Dreamgirls. Like I said before, any brother in the Comedy Club can pull off the character that Eddie did. Why? because we just know these singers.
