Sin City 2: Angelina Out, Rachel In
A source close to the production of Sin City 2 is claiming that Angelina Jolie is out of the running and Rachel Weisz is in. Director Robert Rodriguez has always wanted Angelina to star in his sequel Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For but because of scheduling conflicts, it looks like Rachel might be taking on the role of Ava Lord. Rachel Weisz: A Dame To Kill For? Hmmmm…

Thanks Alex for the link. Guys, click on the link, the web page has videos of the panel discussion.

Yes. I just discovered that there´s videos…OMG!!!
ntt–You posted on GG night on a Paris Match article about the director of Babel…said Brad told him during the filming that he was falling in love; and also that Brad was like a teenager during that time. Where can I find this piece? Any details about it? It was so sweet to hear these things.

Hey Frenchy, I can’t believe it, looking at your pics I realized I taped those Oscars that night - and I still have the tape. The weird part is, at the time, I wasn’t even concerned about Brad or Angie, I watching for Keanu Reeves who was three rows behind Brad. You can see the top of his widow’s peak, he had come with a female friend of his, she had on a black dress, and she had black hair with a bit of silver in it. He’s right behind Maria Shriver in that one pic. That’s why I didn’t even know I had Angie’s Oscars until I saw that pic you posted with a tiny slice of Keanu in it. lol
When I have time, I might try and dig it up, and grab some frames of a Brad, Angie or both in the audience.

Brad wasn’t at the OSCARS that year.
Brad was at the Oscars in 2000. He presented. He agreed to present because his very good friend Katherine Keener was up against Angelina for best supporting actress for the film, Being John Malcovic, I’m sure, I slaughtered the spelling of the last name.

Here is the quote from Paris Match. Now, whether it’s true or not, I don’t know.
~~~”Alchemy is perfect. Last summer Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Director of Babel, entrusted to Paris Match : “One evening, after one day of shooting, Brad and me discussed in his room, He was like a little boy which discovers Love. He told me how He fell instantaneously and passionately in love with Angie. He was regreting to make suffer Jen (Aniston) for which he has a sincere affection, but he cannot fight, Angie makes it insane….”
Hey Lylian…that’s a great idea you had…but once again, my laziness rears it’s ugly head. Besides…that smells too much like a full-time j-o-b and I already have one of those. If I don’t take you idea and run with it, I’m sure some industrious lurker out there will.
Does it take very much to set up a blog?? I’ve never tried. Hope you do though. You realise you’ll get harrassed every friday for a tabloid round up by the regulars here don’t you? Might as well make some money out of it. Think of it as Plan B…..:)
Do you feel differently about your work than you did when you started acting?
PITT: When I started I had this idea that the films I did defined me, and that my life would be interesting based on the characters I’d chosen. I don’t feel that way anymore. I’m a father now. There are other things that are important to me. I was chasing something that wasn’t fulfilling. I caught myself on the phone the other day—Leo has been playing some real strong men these last few years—and I found myself saying, “I want to play more of a man.” I got off the phone and I thought, “No. Live like a man, and the movies will follow.”
Cliniqua: HELL’S YEAH - GO ‘HEAD BRAD!! WHOOOOO!! Calm down Cliniqua. Sorry, but DAYUM. I love that man. lolol Thanks for these excerpts bluemoon.
WHITAKER: I had to learn to not divorce my life from my work. My work is a continual process of growth for me; it’s an expansion of myself. In the last couple of years, I’ve been taking things I learn about myself in my work and using it to be more completely there for my kids, my family, my friends. It’s flowing in a complete way. It has been a bit of an awakening.
DICAPRIO: Man, I’ve got to get some kids, huh?
Everyone changes. It’s part of life. She is still the same basic person. I think that she is more sophisticated now. She grew up. She is still honest, independent, and strong willed. And yes, she is more careful, but that comes with the way that the tabloids has turned her words into half-truths. She is sharing her life with a partner and that requires give and take on both parties. She is still setting out to do all that she wants to do, but because she has a lot more responsibilities, she can’t just devote all her time and energy to one thing.
It’s no different than any other person. Your life changes and you adapt to it. You grow and change. You may wish that you were back in college or still in your 20s, but that’s living in the past. Angelina at her core, lives life in the here and now. and living in the past is compromising her basic self. She is taking what life is sending her, embracing it, and is making it work. IMO, that’s what makes her so admirable.
Well said.
Regarding a weekly tabloid report…
Great work! I love the synopsis of the tabloids. Here is a suggestion for how to get the information without the stares - Go to Barnes and Nobles or Borders. Everyone reads the magazines for free there. It is expected:)
Brad and me discussed in his room,- not true - fabricated.
You’re an idiot — Brad was the funniest one, and it seemed the convo kind of revolved around what he was saying — especially the section on being a father, living your life, being a man - and the roles following…forrest carried that through, then leo chimed in, about kids….and that happened several other times to. Like in all things, Brad is the sun, beetchy…quit hatin’.
…and damn, I didn’t even know Penny Cruz was on the panel…was she choking on an ice chip?
Thanks bluemoon! Brad’s such an interesting, insightful and charming person. Him and Angie are one of the handful of people who are good interviews. I watch Conan and even he’s said that there are lot of talented actors but only a few are actually interesting to talk to. There are some people who just dull and it’s painful to watch him try to make them intriguing for the audience in the studio and at home. But that’s not really a problem with Brad and Angie.
Brad is there because newsweek invited him. Why are you here?
jl is an idiot…what do you expect?!
Angelina is already bored with him. she doesnt do relationships for longer than 3 years. lmao time is ticking. dont you think they would be married by now if she REALLY wanted it? if brad was the one that didnt want marriage angie wouldnt be with him.
I just love Angie. I am so happy that she found her man, at last. Angie+Brad forever!
Numbskull, Angie is committed to Brad, and he to her. They have three children together. This relationship is like no other relationship she has had in the past.
I think there’s a stong possibility that Brad might be one of the nominee in BSA on coming Oscar. Last year, Newsweek have the 5 directors vying for Oscar sitting together. we know Helen, Forest, Leo, Pane were sure bets in the BA race. Cate probably in BSA. I hope Brad will be nominated.
bored trouble maker…is that you jl? gosh fanuston are a boring bunch watching Brad & Angie part ways. You’ll be bored waiting for at least 20 years or more. If you & your greasy *ss is still here.
Way Over The Line: New Orleans is experiencing a renaissance
By WILLIAM C. WADSACK
As has been the case so often in the past year and a half, New Orleans is making national news these days - however, only marginally because of the continued recovery efforts.
There are two New Orleans-themed stories that are getting all the play in the media - the Saints’ NFL Playoff run and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s announcement that they’re moving to the city.
The former is one of those great sports stories that pulls in even non-sports fans and the latter pulls in everyone else because it’s Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Still, the eyes of much of the nation will be on Chicago today when the Bears play host to the Saints in a contest that will send the winner to the Super Bowl in Miami.
Somehow, I doubt that will include the eyes of Brad and Angelina - collectively known as “Brangelina” -because I just can’t imagine Angelina Jolie watching football.
Actually, I can’t really imagine Angelina Jolie doing much of anything other than acting in the occasional movie, working to save the third world and adopting children.
Of course being that stunning has got to take a lot out of her so it’s understandable. I know my wife is tired at the end of the day.
Still, she has said that she wants to be a part of the New Orleans community and befriend regular mothers so her kids have friends with whom to play.
I can’t imagine that working out well, though I’m sure there are some New Orleans-area soccer moms who’d be happy to show up in the tabloids as Angelina’s newest gal-pal. If I lived in New Orleans, I’d be trying to convince my wife it was time for us to have kids just so we could try to befriend the two of them.
Brad seems like he could get into a good football game now and then, but I can’t imagine him actually being interested in football when he’s got Angelina Jolie around the house.
Of course, neither of them will be any kind of distraction for the Saints today as New Orleans’ football players will have their hands full with those thoughtless, winning-machines - the Bears.
Now I know I ragged on the Saints before the season started and emphatically stated that Reggie Bush and Drew Brees wouldn’t amount to a hill of red beans and rice, but this is different. I’m a big enough person to admit that I was wrong about that, but I’m stating here and now that the Saints aren’t going to win in Chicago and needn’t worry about booking airfare to Miami.
This whole concept of calling the Saints “America’s team” never should have gained half the momentum it has already.
I could see if people started calling them “Louisiana’s team,” but America as a whole didn’t care about New Orleans when its citizens really needed it and they aren’t going to care after Sunday.
Now if some brilliant person were to start a movement that referred to the Saints as “Brangelina’s Team,” that’s a train that could gather some real momentum.
