Sue - (#222)

calm down. Cliniqua wrote a very good post. I know she’s not a fan of Jen. But that doesnt mean she is not right.

you stop picking on her. she is very vocal. I see nothing wrong with that.

By the way, are you getting a raise from Aniston camp for posting???? You still havent told me how much you get from Huvanne.

Oh, one thing, you keep changing your names. But your writing style gave me lots of clue.

Sue -

one more thing, NO ONE said Jen got the money illegally . So dont be ashamed of Jen’s wealth.

You Jen fans should be proud of this 110M regardless of how she got it.

Jennifer made her money on her own. If she chooses to donate some, that’s her private business. She didn’t make money from Brad, and unlike Brad’s mistress, she obviously doesn’t make public announcements about her donations. Deal with it loons. Jen has earned more than your idol and what she does with it is her own business. I know, the truth hurts.

This list has a few errors: Madonna’s net worth more towards $500+ million range, Mariah is more accurately around the $150million point, Janet Jackson is around $75million, Jennifer Aniston is around $40million(c’mon now does Forbes even pity her…that figure is a joke), Britney Spears around $40million, Nicole Kidman around $90million+…..I do not feel like giving the histronics on how I know but trust me Forbes as usual has got it wrong for a few of the ladies on the list.

Oh, another thing, just because they gave an anatomy of how Jen got her money DOESNT mean these are haters.

Dont jump to conclusion and label everyone as haters. Otherwise, I have to say you Jen fans must have some “guilt” trip.

That Anuston is a joke. Stop your propaganda b*tch!

Whoever made up that list must have been drunk, because Aniston can’t be that rich, must have been a typo.

Aniston's Net Worth @ 01/19/2007 at 12:48 am

Aniston’s net worth is too inflated! She only has her house in hollywood hills, maybe US$ 6m, and her new house in beverly hills US$ 15m acording to reports, but actually she only paid US$ 10m for it, as her assets, so that only less than US$ 20m in assets. I dont think she has US$ 80-90 million cash. She only made US$ 8 m for TBU, another US$ 10m all in all for her 3 other movies, thats like US18m, gross, deduct the tax and expenses to her agent, pr, etc., a little over half or even less of that goes to her. She is probably making US$ 5-10 m in Friends syndication gross, and only half goes to her, for 2005-2006.

They only made US$ 1 m per episode for only one year, prior to that US$ 750k and US$ 500k for 2 years year and I think US$ 250k and much less for the rest of 7 years. Only half of that or less goes to them after taxes and expenses. I know she had 2- 3 other movies before, but she only got like US$ 2-3 m per movie, gross. What about her expenses during the year, clothes, paying her people, travels, etc.

So there is no way she could have US$ 110 m in net worth, even her commercials are like around US$ 1 m only.

Even Ophah is not worth that much, she is way too extravagant, but i believe JK rowling is worth more than that.

There are some very jealous people on this thread……………

Angelina's Earnings @ 01/19/2007 at 12:50 am

And why is Angelina not there?

Jolie is worth more than US$ 75-80m, but she is probably not listed because she donates 1/3 of her income to charity and is not easily accounted for.

Consider the following income she had:

Endorsement -St John and Sheseido US$ 15,000,000 plus

Salary for recent movies:

AMH US$ 5,000,000 plus backend
Beauwolf US$ 15,000,000
Panda King US$ 10,000,000

Alexander (2004) US$ 10,000,000
The Good Shepherd (2006) $10,000,000
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) $10,000,000 plus US$ 10,000,000 back-end

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) $12,000,000
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) $7,000,000

Forbes make estimates only and they are well known to make mistakes. Remember last year, when they only copied the previous year’s list and make it as the new list without updating it, that is for the list of richest celebrities, where Tom C was no 1. It was reported that the mistake was made and it was too late to pull it out as they had already publsihed _. lol

Nicole K is worth more than Aniston, she got US$ 60m in properties from already and she has made so many movies after her divorce. SAndra K is also worth more than that, she is the producer of Ms Congenilaity movies, Two weeks notice, etc.

And what about Britney, i dont think she is worth US$ 100m, she even has to sell her malibu house to buy a new house in Hollywood. And she had to borrow like US$5m from bank to finance the renovation of her malibu house. Aniston’s net worth is definitely inflated, unless she got large settlement from Brad on Plan B, which I doubt it.

Whether Forbes is accurate or not, Aniston’s net worth should be closer to 110M. Forbes is a reputable magazine. They may be off. But NO WAY are they way off.

Therefore I believe Aniston is worth closer to 110M.

Brad had to pay off Jennifer Aniston to emerge as sole owner of Plan B. Think about it, if Aniston does not donate much, do you think she will give up Plan B without compensation? Plan B is very successful due to Brad’s ability. The company is worth a lot.

Remember Jen hired professional lawyer and CPA to advise her. These lawyers will be all thinking for her well being. They are not giving up for FREE. Just use common sense.

As to Britney, she sold the house because it’s a divorce. She had to sell to divide the proceeds with K Fed. She needed to borrow money to finance her remodelling because she is tight on cash. That doesnt mean she is not worth what Forbes said.

Jennifer Aniston: Just because the actress earned a million bucks per episode on Friends doesn’t mean she has a greedy soul. On the contrary, Aniston, like her former mate Brad Pitt, is very big on helping others. Case in point: industry insiders predict that she will sign with Nike soon to appear in international advertising campaigns to promote the company products. Even though she will earn millions from the deal, Aniston plans to donate a huge chunk of the money to various cancer charities. She not the only star to use celebrity status for the common good. Eminem announced this month that he is designing limited-edition trainers for Nike that will be sold to benefit charities in his home state of Michigan.

ANISTON, STARS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT KATRINA VICTIMS
September 9, 2005

“Hollywood continues to support victims of Hurricane Katrina, by donating to organizations like the American Red Cross, and holding benefit concerts and other fundraisers. JENNIFER ANISTON has donated $500,000 to the Red Cross, reports “The Insider”’s MARC MALKIN. The ROLLING STONES’ “A Bigger Bang” tour announced they have made a $1 million donation to the Red Cross’ disaster relief fund as well. THE BLACK CROWES will also give proceeds from their October 7 Mud Island Amphitheatre concert in Memphis to hurricane victims.”

As previously announced, musical performers scheduled to appear on “Shelter From the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast” include Sheryl Crow, Dixie Chicks, Alicia Keys, Randy Newman, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart and Neil Young. Celebrity participants include Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Ellen DeGeneres, Jack Nicholson, Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Sela Ward.

——————————————————————————–

From an interview that was done by Warden Style _, last year:

WSO: Not about the clothes, but I know that you and Brad do give away quite a lot for charities, but there`s not too much of it going public, isn`t there?

Jennifer: No that`s true. And I wouldn`t want that. That`s not what giving money or whatever away is about and I`m sometimes tempted to go up the walls when some people use charity for publicity matters. There`s a horrible craze for attention today and mostly for the wrong reasons. It`s a different thing when it comes to doing those charity shows on TV, when people use the fact that others recognize their faces to attract attention for special auctions, for example. But generally I rather prefer to keep it private, it`s my own business.

That quote can be found here:

http://www.anistonavenue.com/news.htm

It’s actually kind of difficult to find out what charities she supports since she doesn’t publicize or give interviews over it, but I have found out some of them. Apparently her family was a huge influence in her philanthropic efforts, as she was doing charity stuff even before Friends.

Project ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)

RAINN (Tori Amo’s abuse and incest survivors network)

St. Jude Children’s Hospital (Cancer)

Lili Claire Foundation (for children with neurogenetic disorders)

Habitat for Humanity

Hurricane Katrina Relief

Pediatric AIDS Research

Cure Autism Now

Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (skin disease)

Red Cross

She’s also done things like visiting a Mexican orphanage with Molly Sims (without cameras) and she was publicly thanked by Sheryl Crow for her support when Sheryl was going through breast cancer treatment (also without cameras and interviews about it).

So stop saying she doesn’t care, she doesn’t donate time or money to humanitarian efforts, and that she is selfish and self-centered. She obviously isn’t.

(Yeah I know that this isn’t going to stop the hardcore Jolie fans from foaming at the mouth, but maybe somebody will get it.)

******************************

But where is Britney’s assets? she has a house in Louisiana, and has a restaurant, thats about it, i dont think its worth that much. Maybe she has plenty of cars? I think she has some perfume business or whatever, but i dont think its successful. I think JLO is actually worth more than US$110m, she has a successful business empire, has lots of houses, she was estimated to be worth more than US$ 200m before, now its down to US$ 110m, i mean its just way off.

Even Aniston has only two houses worth US$ 3-5mHollywood hills) and bet US$ 10-15m for her new Bev hills house. And she spent like close to US$1m in rentals for her Malibu house for the last 2 years. Does it mean she has like US$ 80-90m in cash? Maybe she has lots of jewelry, cars, etc.

Are you quoting facts or are you SPECULATING a future event???

Take a look at your post, you are quoting, “…..industry insiders predict….”. Anytime you used the word “best friend said”, ” a close friend said”, those are tabloid. How much weight is this, by using “industry insiders predict.

I remember there was a NIKE rumor about that in June 2006. NIKE put out a memo saying they are NOT having any endorsement deal with Aniston.

>>>The argument for me is BEYOND Angelina vs Aniston.

My HUGE issue is this: Meryl Streep should be making 100 million NOT the Olsens NOT Aniston.

There is a HUGE disparity between women who don’t play the game and the ones who are all about branding.

I like J-LO but the woman has no acting talent and no singing talent and has been in one flop after another.

Yet who makes the millions? She does.

I like that she is a successful Latina but why can’t Salma Hayek make her level of money or Sonia Braga or Penelope Cruz who is really talented? THEY ARE NOT BRANDS.

Same with Aniston and Bullock. Why doesn’t Hillary Swank, Judi Dench or Meryl Streep make their money? Why the women who are average and less talented?

Because men still reward women who are not threatening.

With the exception of Oprah, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts, so many women on this list are undeserving of their millions.

When Meryl Streep makes 100 million then we can talk.

MERCREDI: Did you use my post in your post by mistake? Just wondering because it was my post.

FYI. If a mistake, you may want to state whose post you’re referencing when cutting and pasting next time. (Just a lil blog rule). Have a good one!

I went over to the site to look for the interview. There is nothing on that. Why does Aniston camp or Jen fans manufacture lies.

You listed a lot of charities which she supported. Support is one thing. But actual GIVING is another.

I know she does host dinner for charity. She does wear that Saint John Children Hospital T-shirt. She does do some. But is this all????

I am convinced she does gives. But NOT MUCH in relation to her enormous wealth.

242… oh yah… aniston DOES CARE… deeply… about ShE, HER, & HERSELF… Indeed, she DOES DONATE her time/money… tirelessly to humanitarian efforts closest to her hollywood heart: SELF such as hair, yoga, spas, tanning, smoking… oh god… so much humanitarian efforts on a 24/7 basis for one woman to bear… No… no… she ISN’T selfish and self-centered… hell no… she is magnanimously avaricious and centered on SELF… me… me… meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee… very charitable indeed…

I hope you noted the irony in your message before I did, the news on the impending signing between Nike and Ms. Aniston is dated 2005. The date on the news does not negate the after-fact, but I will appreciate if you can provide updated information.

Thanks in advance.

I could not find the said quote in the link provided, but I did not check the archives either. But the point I would like to raise is not that. Here are several clarifications, since my post, which had been re-posted in bold later by an unidentified person, had checked several of the foundations web site to which your message too refers:

1. I have no qualms about donating in private, either time or money. On the other hand, if one message suggests to “do your own research on the net”, I do not shy away from such research. The inconsistency here is not Ms. Aniston’s said private donations. The inconsistency is the following: even though some of the foundations openly acknowledge the support they receive- see Lili Claire Foundation’s web site, Ms. Aniston’s name does not appear.

Many of these foundations flourish by private donations, and the reason that they seek “celebrity endorsement” is to give credibility to their donor profile. Consider this: if it were for the magnitude of donations they receive from the wealthy and known individuals, we would not receive mails asking for our support. So, Ms. Aniston has all the right to keep her donations private, but this does not prevent the target foundation acknowledging her name, a case which, in my research, I failed to confirm.

2. One of the prior posts used the word “obligation”, many referred to the simple fact that Ms. Aniston has every right to donate/spend her money as she pleases.

Two points : Charity is not an “obligation”, I pointed very clearly, it is a “responsibility” given the unequal social structure of the society the upper echelons of the wealth distribution live in. What is the difference between obligation and responsibility? “Paying taxes” is an obligation, but not a full-fledged responsibility. For parents, taking care of their children is not an ‘obligation’, many parents see this as “responsibility”. In other words, obligations are the acts that are imposed on us by outside factors, responsibility is what we think we owe to others. As for the argument on Ms. Aniston (or anyone in the said list) having the right to spend/donate as she (or they) please(s), I do not expect the views of these messages and my point to be in congruity. But I prefer to believe, given the power that these women have in relation to their wealth, that it is rightful to ask about their “responsibility” — above and beyond their obligations, such as the taxes they pay.

One incorrect picture the list has given is that “gender equality” at last has been achieved. I noted before, the figures reported in the list, whether the rankings are correct or not, put these individuals at the top of 0.1% of wealth distribution in this society. For each of these women cutting to the list, there are many women in the entertainment industry, working as a screen writer etc., who, despite their intelligence and efforts, will never be as comfortable as they deserve to.

If it were not for the question of “it is all over the net, do your research”, I would not be bothered to discover the dismal track record of Ms. Aniston or other names on the list, via information accessible on the net. But as I said, the problem is not whether Ms. Aniston, or for that matter any other names in the list, is greedy, it is about when “winners take all”, should we just sit back and say it is OK, when many in this society tries to make ends meet by hard work? In other words, if someone can convince me that all these individuals are working more, and harder, than anyone you know, including yourself, working as in 50 weeks/year, 60 hrs/week and still run after the debts, and thereby deserving their money rightfully, then I too can say all is right in this world.

All the best,
~curly

“Winners take all” is the way in which one can understand why some in the sports and entertainment industry are paid as much as they are, and why no one else can make to the top. There is a good deal of research on it, kindly check google scholar.

It is clearly not about Maniston making this list.
I am unbiased. Selfish, greedy & stingy as she proved
to be, she can have it! It is about how she’s got it: by being
a part of a cheap, pedestrian TV-show, AND BY SHAMEFULLY
MILKING HER DIVORCE (that brought her lots of money, and
ALL the publicity!). She repeated that with V.V. He is
a laughingstock of Chicago because of the CIRCUS
Maniston dragged him in. I do NOT think she will ever talk
to Jolie, because Jolie knows the truth!
She lied to Oprah too ( I do NOT think Oprah was aware
of that @ the time), and damaged her reputation as well.
Again, Maniston fed those rednecks hate, and she should not
be surprised people hate her now.
Again!! as a woman, I am truly ASHAMED of Maniston.

BTW, treasurehunter! could you please give me something
a little bit more TRUSTABLE than “anuston.com”?!
