I have to confess… I don’t know much about the Elizabeth-Eddie-Debbie triangle, except that Elizabeth lost her husband in a plane crash; Debbie and Eddie was looking out for her, only Eddie took it too far. Eddie left Debbie, the mother of his two kids, to be with Elizabeth, who had children herself. They married; there were rumors that she and Richard Burton were getting a bit too close on the set of Cleopatra; Eddie made a call to Elizabeth on the set; he made a huge publicity stunt out of it; he expected Elizabeth to deny the rumors; she didn’t. Eddie and Elizabeth divorced. Elizabeth and Richard hooked up… I think he had to get divorced. They were together; it was tulmultuous; they divorced; then remarried. Somewhere in there, Elizabeth won best actress for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Richard, who was heralded as a brilliant actor at the time, was overshadowed by the relationship. They divorced for the final time and Richard died.

Debbie got public sympathy and I think she got a nod for The Unsinkable Molly Brown; Eddie Fisher married Connie Stevens and had more kids; from what I gather, he is estranged from his daughters, Carrie and Joely Fisher.

Thank you Thank you Thank you. No one was giving the NYT article any major attention until it was brought to their attention by blowing it up and out of preportion right here. The story shouldn’t have become what it did YESTERDAY on the board but it did, and at whose hand?

Er, that would be the NYT hand. It’s the NYT. That’s all other outlets, be they blog, website, newswire, or magazine need to see and it’s regurgitated. So don’t even think of trying to blame the dozen or so bamzs regulars taking the pi*s out of the writer and e-mailing their complaints. Like this wouldn’t have been referenced if we hadn’t discussed it. Give. me. a break.

Most of the bull that gets dumped here has no legs until someone right here attaches some and then its off and running and expanding and stretching until the next thing you know its become exactly what people wanted to shutdown.

I think it’s polite to only suggest he change it, and it’s a right to voice an opinion, NOT “nervy.” It’s NERVY, you suggesting WE’RE BEING NERVY — it’s NERVY, YOU pissing off the people that expressly have said they would appreciate it, as fans of these people, if the board site owner who benefits FROM THIS ENTHUSIASTICALLY POSITIVE FANDOM who RESIDE HERE a LOT, took our opinions and requests into account. That’s NERVY! There’s also a difference between the site owner putting up a web page HIGHLIGHTING & LINKING THE F*CKING ARTICLE, and few posters out of more than a thousand over 34 pages, linking it a couple times.

That sh*t was all over the net yesterday by the very fact it WAS the NYT, it was also discussed ad nauseum, making Jared linking it today even more perplexing and unnecessary.

Let just move on from this. Cliniqua wrote a great response to the article yesterday. Everyone did as well. It’s just ANOTHER nasty piece from the haters. It happens all the time. Lets not blame each other but move on from this. If another negative article comes up why don’t we just IGNORE it. Not post it or talk about it? Because if we do it will get picked up and we will only get upset.

I agree with the fact that it’s THE NY TIMES, it was going to be discussed regardless to anyone on JJ.

I can understand why Brad didn’t get the nom, being that his performance was so short in the film, but it would have been nice anyway.

I was watching Telemundo and Latin American and hispanics in the US are really proud of Inarritu. Salma Hayek almost cried when she read his name for the nom. She also cheered for Penelope for her nom for Volver.

Everyone is so proud and it’s a good reflection on Brad to be associated with such a project.

The Oscar nominations are out and Brad Pitt was not in it. It clearly showed that the majority of the public and hollywood (except you lunatics here) do not like Brad since his hooking up with your tattooed queen. I haven’t seen Babel, but judging the box office, it’s EITHER a good film but the public stayed away from it because of Brad Pitt OR it’s a bad film and no one wanted to see. But since it’s nominated for best picture, it must be a pretty good film but the public just didn’t care to see a movie with Brad Pitt in it.

Mark my words, any movies starring Brad or Angie will bomb. As I said before, this couple is only good for headlines and scandals. This reason is not enough to help sell movies to the american public, maybe to you lunatics here, but you’re not the majority. FYI, I’m not a Jennifer Aniston fan. I’m a Reese Witherspoon fan.

i hate the artucle that bashed angie..i think the writer just wants to use angie’s popularity.why people are so judgemental with her every reaction is way beyond my understanding…

in my case, i love angelina, she is but a beautiful woman and mother, not to metion a partner to brad.. i love her works and she is one of my role models…

i was gonna stay out of this, but i am actually starting to like angelina jolie more and more.

i realize that she has done far worse things in the past, and people could have written her off then, but her life and career has continued to thrive.

she has always been a controversial person because she speaks her mind. and even when she’s honest, somehow, the media manages to misconstrue her words to shape the public’s thinking.

the thing is, no matter what angelina does, she’ll always be criticized for it. it comes with her celebrity status. when she’s doing good, some will dismiss it as just her needing to further her career. but then, if she’s not being proactive, those same people will still say she’s being selfish. it’s a double-edged sword.

she’s a big figure, and she still has a large following, so, everything she does will always be under the microscope.

i really don’t see this whole hoopla as hurting her career or popularity because as i said, she has done far worse things in the past (whether she was with somebody or on her own).

certainly the whole article gives hope to aniston fans or the haters, but from a bigger perspective, it really ISN’T anything big. it’s one columnist’s point of view, and i’m sure that writer was aiming to garner attention for his article. it’s just another controversial phase in angelina’s life.

she seems to have far better things to do than subscribe to other people’s opinions about her. she’s living her life. she’s staying true to herself. it’s her own happiness that matters to her. if she’s self-fulfilled then, that’s all that matters, and not what the public thinks.

Thank you for writing this. I totally agree with you. I dont see what this big hoopla was all about. Angie still has a big following. Those who like her understands how the media and tabloids operate. To me, it’s the mini-van people or haters who are delusional to think Angie is losing fans.
