I am sorry but not interested in these people. Honestly BP was the only reason I watched the Golden Globes. BP is a power player and to be snubbed will hurt the ratings unless he graciously agrees to attend.
___

You only watch the Globes for one person?

Brad is a “power player” [Lol] but so is pretty much everyone else who was Nominated. And complaining about him being “snubbed” is crazy, not EVERYONE can be nominated. If that was the Case ALOT of actors and actresses were “snubbed”.
Brad is not a Egotistical person so I’m sure he doesn’t care about being nominated, I bet he’s happy enough with his film [Babel] receiving 7 nods.

And Ratings for that show sucked last year, and they might suck again, but not because Brad wasn’t nominated, because the show itself is boring.. to many categories people don’t care about.
I’m sure he will attend the show, but all that will do is make the Red Carpet the most important part, Once the show starts people will change the channel like they always do, and turn back when the important categories are announced.

BABEL FOR BEST PICTURE.

Although BP’s work in Babel warranted recognition, I’m not surprised that he wasn’t nominated. For me, I think that his performance in Babel is something to build on and I have a feeling that parts like Richard were the very roles he was waiting for. So, not sad at all.
===========

piper, I totally agree with you. Yes, I was a little sad that Brad didn’t get an Oscar nod, but, I do feel that this part has rejuyvenated his career and that anything is possible for the future. So, no worries about what doesn’t happen now, I feel something even more substantial is on the horizon for Brad and Angelina in the future.

was that for me? thanx

That list proves that most nominations aren’t box office. I think only The Departed, The Devil Wears Prada and The Pursuit of Happyness & Dreamgirls are films that have had boffo box office.

Merhaba Medi,
How are you feeling? I hope you’re well.

Brad was thanked for the Departed at the Golden Globes by whom I can’t remember but I have it on tape. If I wasn’t at work right now, I would go check it out. The director didn’t mention Brad when he won, but the film won in another category and the suit who spoke mentioned Brad first, and by title, executive producer. I remember being very pleased. There was also another Brad mentioned further down in the thank yous.

I feel so sad that Brad did not get nominated, I was thinking this morning before they were announced how happy it would be at the Jolie-Pitt house with Brad’s parents there and all. They would have had a big ol celebration..
But alas Brad has a beautiful life with his love and their children. Just really sucks right now. :(

[Fug Face Maniston] @ 01/23/2007 at 1:24 pm

Are You Okay?

The Departed was nominated and Brad being producer (Plan B) might appear (hoping) but i want Babel to win for best picture

It’s perfectly natural to be sad about, for a little while, but sulking is completely out of the question!

Sulking is characteristic of ___ and her ilk, people who are so busy gloating about a perceived slight that they forgot about their lauded predictions about where Brad would’ve ended up after his liberation; on the scrap heap, alone, and suffering a career slump. Instead, he is the co-head of a family; his arms are full with his children, his woman, and loyal friends; and he’s spearheading projects that haters could only dream of.

Brad is golden.

HOTTEST COUPLE EVER @ 01/23/2007 at 1:31 pm

I am sad that Brad was not nominated as well. I wanted for him an Oscar win to
place next to Angie’s at home. Two beautiful oscars for two beautiful people. That
would have been so sweet.

wasn’t Brad Grey involved in the Departed?

Is there a nomination for best producer?

^^^ yes he was the producer of the Departed (Plan B productions)

wasn’t Brad Grey involved in the Departed?
+++++++++++++
Yes, but the Academy hasn’t announced which producers will get the nod for The Departed and Little miss sunshine.

#11 Original jpf,We have the same first and second choices, lol.I wish Brad and Annette Bening recieved nods, but hey they will have other chances.I am thrilled about Babel being up for best picture!I hope Brad and Angelina attend.

^^^^

I love Annette Bening, and although I haven’t seen RWS, I’ve patched together enough clips to agree with you. Brad’s not getting a nod doesn’t bother me much as I really think the field was just brimming with so much talent that although length doesn’t matter on the norm (no pun), maybe it was a factor this time. He’ll win if BABEL does, and I have a hunch it will.

jpf

lol Piper I’m not sulking I just feel bad… Yikes..
I know Brad’s life is wonderful with Angie and the kids. . I just really loved this movie and his performance in it… I have been a Brad fan for years and years and I really thought this was going to be his year for a nomination that’s all.

cheers for the advice.
No sulking I promise.

[Fug Face Maniston] Says:

You’re sweet thanks for asking

Just stopped in. See nothing has changed except someone has been using my name. Shame on you.

Anyway, just a quick note that if it’s really me I don’t usually attack Brad and Angie. It’s you posters who I think are crazy. You just don’t get it.

For example you complained about the constant Brad/Angie/Jen triangle in magazines, but you made it happen. For example every time US weekly had a post about one of them you guys all ran over there and posted like 500 posts about how much you hated Jen, what a good person Angie was, how they never would get back together, etc. and US weekly went WOW this is a hot topic so they put the stuff in the magazine because they believed that it would sell.

Then NYP has this article. You stated that you sent repeated E-mails. Wow what a lot of attention that one article got. I am sure that everytime an article gets so much attention it is considered a sucess. So again you made it happen. If another magazine posts a similiar article it will be because this one got so much attention. The paper must be quite excited that this one article got so much response. Thanks of course to you.

Honestly Brad/Angie fans are the couples worst enemies. But you keep it up. Obviously most of you don’t have much of a life so I understand that you have found friends here of JJ and that is good everyone needs that. Keep on “helping” Brad and Angie I’m sure that they so appreciate all your hard work on their behalf.
Actually I am sure that if they even knew about you they would think that you were all a little crazy, but whatever floats your boat.

I hope that he get nominated for Best Producer catergory. It would be really good for Plan B. Was Brad Grey and Brad both involved with the Departed.

How does this work them?

Do they both get there names as co-producers, which one of them is really the boss? Brad Grey left Pan B right?

So many questions and why is it taking them so long to determine the nominees? Has this ever happen before?

NYCGalnVA @ 01/23/2007 at 1:52 pm

I can’t remember which movie it was that won Best Picture, but it seemed like ten people were listed as the producer, and that many folks came on stage to pick up an oscar!!! Since then, they have a limit of 3 producers. As a matter of fact, last year when Crash won BP, there was a lawsuit (recently settled) by one of the producers that didn’t receive credit. Even Don Cheadle who helpec bring the move to the screen didn’t get an oscar. So They will haggle it out and we will find out frome the trades who will get the producer credit.

Two Brads @ 01/23/2007 at 1:53 pm

Brad Grey was involved in Dreamgirls, Babel and The Departed. The way he was at the GG’s you can bet he will try his best to be on the ballot for The Departed and Babel as top producer.

green lettuce @ 01/23/2007 at 1:54 pm

Wow happy to see’ Babel’ has so many nominations!! Hello BAMZS fans and other people here!
My two cents:
(in brackets MY personnal choices)
best picture : litlle miss sunshine (Babel)
best actor : Forest Wirhaker -and he won the GG, or maybe Leo DiCaprio is too young (Will Smith or Forest Withaker)
best actress : Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep -who won the GG (Kate Winslet, but she also may be too young)
best supporting actor : Eddy Murphy or Djimon Hounsou (EM or DH)
best sup. actress : Cate Blanchett (CB or Jennifer Hudson-who unfortunately may be too young, even if she won the GG)
best director : Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (AGI or later better than never : Marty Scorsese)
Anyway it’s extremely refreshing to see such a list filled with so many different but true talents!!

Mark Wahlberg? Please. He’s an okay actor and that’s about it. And even though I like Alan Arkin, his part in Little Miss Sunshine was easy–just a cranky, foul-mouthed grandpa–and then he was off the screen. I’m sure Brad didn’t get nominated because of the size of his role, but it’s too bad.

NYCGalnVA

I was kind of shocked that the Academy didn’t follow the PGA direction and only name Graham King as the only producer for The Departed. I think that is good news for both Brad’s. I know Grey wants that nod BAD but I really don’t have a clue how Brad has made his case.

Obviously most of you don’t have much of a life

==========

This coming from the very person that read all the posts enough to comment on them. Why is it that those that can’t formulate a complete opinion fall back on the “you don’t have a life” complant? If you don’t like it here how about not posting? You are not under any arrest to do so. Perhaps its YOU that needs to get a life.

“I’m sure Brad didn’t get nominated because of the size of his role, but it’s too bad.”
___

You’re correct, he didn’t get nominated because of the size of his role, he wasn’t the lead, and he wasn’t even in the whole film. but the obsessed fans don’t see that, they want him nominated for everything, even if he doesn’t deserve it. Babel was a great film and Brad’s role was about very good. But people need to get over it, a lot of people who should and could have been nominated didn’t. Brad has many of years ahead of him to get Nominated and Win. complaining about him being “snubbed” makes him and all his “fans” look bad.

Hey everyone. The BAFTA Awards will be coming up. They are the British version of the Academy Awards. Brad Pitt is listed as first among the 3 producers for The Departed. So Brad’s been nominated for a BAFTA. No too bad. You know the Brits take their theatre & film seriously. I think the awards will be given out on Feb 11 at Royal Albert hall in London. If the BAFTA’s have him there musch less FIRST, you can probably bet he is one of the producers nominated for The Departed for the Academy. Brad is everywhere!!!!!
