OT: Serious topic. Angelina, in her interview with Ann Curry (Namibia) touched on the topic of the child sex industry and what may have been the fate of Zahara and maybe even Maddox. I don’t want to single out developing countries because this goes on in the USA too, unfortunately.

Maniston, I thank you. This is a travesty that is an area I hope to be of help with soon. I saw a movie with Mira Sorvino called “HUMAN TRAFFICKING” on Lifetime, and it affected me so much and truly focused me on some things. I don’t think I ever felt so sad, mad, disgusted, and the only other situation to effect me like that has been Darfur. It’s madness, and whats so sick is that it’s men who usually are fine upstanding fathers making great bank in America mostly, and from there it moves to other wealthy nations. Thank you again, and if you haven’t seen the movie, I know some people think “Lifetime/fluff,” not this time. It’s an excellent, well researched look into this sick trade.

Ricky Martin is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and his focus is eradicating child sexual exploitation. He was on Oprah sometime last year and he showed video of him talking to children, some as young as 6 or 7 who had been either sold by their parents, kidnapped from their parents or in some cases their parents were tricked into believing their children were being sent off to learn an honest trade. I was so upset to find out the number of American men who frequent Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc) to have sex (rape) with children. These men come from all walks of life. They are single, married, doctors, teachers, you name it but they all have no souls and see these children as fair game. Sometimes I wonder how the earth keeps turning with all the evil in this world.

Original Curious, I don’t know if you’re here but did you catch Countdown Tonight? I really thought it was one of the best shows and the conclusion to KO’s interview was pretty good. Although my favorite part is when KO did his impression of Chris Matthews laugh :lol: Oh and MSNBC did great in the ratings last night too! I’m so happy because even Conan would make fun of their last place status…although he doesn’t anymore :)

Amaya, I missed it! A co-worker called, and we were on the phone the ENTIRE time! Maybe I’ll catch it when it comes on at midnight - though my energy is already sagging and I’m hoping I make it through Jon Stewart let alone Colbert! It’s very cold here tonight, and colder yet to come….makes me sleepy. I think I’ll bring a good book up - that usually keeps me awake! LOL

412 Maybe that grey/orange bag that Angelina is carrying is what Maddox brought to school. Maybe he has a locker or a cubicle so he only has to bring home his lunch everyday which may have in that Grey/orange container.

Ok Guli - I’m taking up your invitation for lurkers to start posting. I’m from Bermuda and I’ve been lurking on this site for a long while, probably since the Jolie-Pitts were in the Dominican Republic.

Most people I speak with are intrigued and/or inspired by Brad and Angelina. So everyone keep up the good work - you represent more people than you might imagine.

I used to think that their ignoring these libelous stories was the best course but now I am not so sure. I saw that E interview w/ Angelina and her behavior was not like RC represented. Yet, the so-called legitimate media even picked it up. I don’t think she should respond personnally but I do think it is time to hire a publicist to point out the lies. Angelina was never a heroin addict. When her children go to school they will hear these lies. Unfortunately, I think they are going to have to be pro-active because here it is 2 years later and the same lies are being told and even added to. What is happening to so-called journalism when the NYT starts quoting from US weekly?
