Brad Pitt Upends Expectations

Brad Pitt Upends Expectations

Perfect parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie picked up their 5-year-old son Maddox, from Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orleans, a French-English bilingual school, in New Orleans yesterday afternoon. Angie flashed her megawatt smile!

Also included is a scan of Brad Pitt’s solo shot from the Jan. 29 issue of Newsweek. The captions reads: “With his trim gray hair and weary face, Pitt upended expectations in Babel as a helpless husband stranded in Morocco with his slowly dying wife.”

PLEASE Jared, remove all the VILE posts about M and Z. They are beyond SICK and DISTURBING.

What an interesting (I am being totally sarcastic people) thread this has turned into, bringing out all kinds of liars and fools and racists and idiots. Throwing in the names of others that supposely Brad and Angelina are involved with, are interested in, may be interested in, will be involved with. BRAD AND ANGELINA ARE “TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH” AND “TOTALLY INVOLVED WITH EACH OTHER” and that is the facts. Some people just can’t wrap their little brains around the truth so they try to SUBSTITUTE their delusional ravings for reality. ANGELINA AND BRAD ARE IN TO EACH OTHER PERIOD, NO ONE ELSE BUT EACH OTHER. I can’t state that any plainer.

No two people with their resources stick to each other like glue if they ain’t happy to be where they are. Unhappy and restless ready to move on individuals don’t set up foundations together in which they are “co-presidents”(MJPProject in Cambodia), they certainly both don’t always use the pronouns “we”, “us’,”ours” when describing themselves or their plans. Angelina has demonstrated behavior being “Ms Independent” in past relationships, she has said that she wasn’t too good at coupledoms. Well, my observation is that she had not yet met her right man, Mr. Brad Pitt, because this coupledom seems to be working well, and both seem very happy and satisfied. Now I am sure that these two have some bumps, some great big ones, at times, all relationships do. Any two extremely successful individuals like these two possess their own unique quirks, and add in THREE small children to the mix and some shaking and quaking times have to occur. But the Jolie-Pitts work like good gumbo, throw in all the separate ingredients, let them bubble and boil, and WOW!

NOLA folk seem protective of them as few pixs have emerged, and their presence in NOLA is bringing needed attention to the area. It’s all good. I for one could care less if they ever attend any crappy red carpet events, but they will as they know what their jobs entail.

China censors OK ‘Babel’ despite sex, violence
By Jonathan Landreth

Jan 27, 2007

BEIJING — China’s censors have cleared multiple-Oscar nominee “Babel” to screen on the mainland, local media reported Friday, citing an unnamed source at the Film Bureau.

Foreign distributors expressed surprise that “Babel” had cleared China’s censors, who historically have rejected sex and violence in the absence of a ratings system here. Only 20 revenue-sharing imports are cleared for release in China each year.

News of “Babel” clearing the censors’ examination was reported by daily newspaper the Beijing News and popular online news portal Sina.com. The Film Bureau could not be reached for comment.

State-run film giant China Film Group, the country’s sole licensed film importer, would not confirm a “Babel” approval. However, one CFG official said he hoped to distribute the best picture nominee during the national holiday week following the Lunar New Year on Feb. 18.

“We could do very, very well at the boxoffice because of the free publicity” generated by any Oscars won by “Babel” at the Feb. 25 Academy Awards, Yuan Wenqiang, deputy director of CFG’s Import and Export Co., said.

CFG’s share of ticket sales from “Babel” could stand to be greater than the share it typically gets from most Hollywood imports because “Babel” is understood to have been bought on a flat fee basis, one Hollywood executive familiar with the situation said.

Most U.S. films passed for screening in China see CFG share about 13% of the boxoffice take with the big studios.

FILMED IN MANDEVILLE
Hollywood came to the north shore this week, but no one caught a glimpse of Brad Pitt or Cate Blanchett
Wednesday, January 24, 2007
By Kadee Krieger

The cast and crew of the Paramount/Warner Brothers film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” set up shop in Mandeville on Monday and Tuesday, but stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett slipped in and out of town practically unnoticed.

Pitt, who plays the title role, and Blanchett were nowhere to be found Tuesday afternoon during a scene shot on Lakeshore Drive. The co-stars spent time working in the Lewisburg area Monday and early Tuesday morning.

Security was tight in Lewisburg, and line producer Ceon Chaffin said the production is especially sensitive to press when the actors are wearing aging makeup.

The film is an F. Scott Fitzgerald story that tells the tale of a 30-year-old woman who falls in love with a man in his 50s who is strangely aging backward.

Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been buzzwords around the area for weeks, and before the confirmation that the power couple bought a mansion in the French Quarter there had been reports that they were living in Beau Chene and The Sanctuary neighborhoods in the Mandeville area.

The couple reportedly are enrolling their oldest child in a New Orleans school and plan to stay in town for a while after filming is complete. Crews will move out of Louisiana in March, with overall production set to wrap in September. “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is expected to hit theaters in 2008.

Filming Tuesday afternoon included a foggy cemetery scene created on the Mandeville lakefront at Carroll Street.

By 3 p.m., crowds had gathered in front yards along the street and behind yellow tape at the gazebo on the lakefront. Some onlookers had been there since late morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of Pitt. By 4 p.m., dozens huddled in groups from Lafitte to Coffee streets.

“There was such a buzz over at Woodlake Elementary this morning about the movie that I had to come check it out,” Mandeville resident Regina Vaccaro said. “Of course, I’m hoping to see Brad Pitt.”

Lakeshore Drive resident Troi Kite said her interest was immediately piqued when she found a flier on her door about the filming. “It is always interesting when you start your day with a message from Paramount,” she said.
The flier alerted residents that Lakeshore Drive would be blocked Tuesday afternoon. Mandeville police officers kept through traffic at bay, but that didn’t stop pedestrians from getting as close as they could to the scene.

Many were disappointed when they realized Pitt wasn’t in the scene, but most stayed to watch the movie-making process.

Chaffin said Pitt and Blanchett finished their scenes in Mandeville earlier Tuesday morning at the Lewisburg set. Monday, the pair and other cast members filmed scenes outside of Madisonville, she said.

Other scenes will be shot near the beach at nearby Fontainebleau State Park on Thursday, Chaffin said. Chaffin, who works closely with director David Fincher, said this is her first time working on a film in Mandeville, but that she, Fincher and Paramount/Warner Brothers are proponents of bringing motion picture business to the state.

“Without Louisiana’s tax rebate program we literally couldn’t get this film off the ground. But while that may be what got us here, it is not the most important part,” she said. “The most important part is that Louisiana has so much to offer. The crews are good to work with. I’ve worked all across the nation and in 13 countries, and you can’t say that everywhere you go.”

She said crews at work on the film are predominately from Louisiana.

Among them, set dresser David Toth of Abita Springs helped prepare the grounds on the lakefront to look like a cemetery. “It is always fun to work on a big film like this at home,” he said.

Chaffin said the film originally was set to take place in Baltimore, but both writer Eric Roth and Fincher are happier in the New Orleans area.

“The city looks great and is perfect for this film,” she said.

Chaffin said working in St. Tammany and Mandeville has been particularly nice because parish and city officials allow permits for specific locations.

“In New York and Los Angeles we have to share space, literally, with paparazzi in our faces. Here, we pay for a space and a time and we get so much work done. It is very productive.”

In addition, she said local residents have been helpful and friendly.

“Everyone has been so great everywhere we go,” she said. “We are so comfortable we aren’t even homesick, that is how well it is going.”

I agree with you. Brad and Angie are strong together as a couple, they’ve laid a foundation that is solid. The great thing is that they aren’t just commited to each other as a couple, they are commited as a family.

First off, I wasn’t just talking to you. There have been plenty of posts that are saying he shouldn’t go because he wasn’t nominated. If they want him to be there, than they need to nominate him. That was what I was replying too. That’s a ridiculous thought process and sounds pretty petty. Brad was involved in two movies that received 12 oscar nominations, that is something to be proud of. He’s a big reason why and why shouldn’t he support those two by being there?

So, you relax.

Then I misinterpreted your comment. I agree with you that he should be there, nominated or not.

Sorry about the multiple posts….having problems with posting. When that is resolved, I’ll relax.

Brad was in Seven Years in Tibet. The movie protrayed the Chinese government in a bad light so they banned Brad and a couple of other people I believe.

Jolie to film the cult ‘bible of selfishness’

Actress tackles daunting epic by controversial author who counted Reagan among her fans

Paul Harris in New York
Sunday January 28, 2007
The Observer

Ayn Rand is one of the most controversial writers in modern American literature, known for her tireless advocacy of the right to selfishness and her hatred of big government. She has been derided and loved in equal measure and her books have sold millions of copies, attracting followers as diverse as banker Alan Greenspan, President Ronald Reagan and architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Her most famous book, Atlas Shrugged, has long been a target of Hollywood producers and attracted such big names as Faye Dunaway, Raquel Welch and Sharon Stone. But each project collapsed in the face of turning a 1,200-page philosophical novel into a watchable movie.

Now that is to change. The latest attempt to film Atlas Shrugged is set to star Angelina Jolie in the role of Rand’s railroad heiress heroine Dagny Taggart. Unlike past efforts, this one seems likely to succeed. A two-hour screenplay is almost complete and filming is to start this year with release in 2008. It is being written by Randall Wallace, who wrote the Mel Gibson epic Braveheart, and is backed by Lion’s Gate Entertainment.

If filming is set to start this year, it would be interesting to see the complete cast and director.

I still have problems posting…..Damn it !!!!. What´s wrong!!!???

I’m sorry!! just realized I posted this pic before………….Itz just tht I was having problems posting and I thought I didn’t. Sorry :-)

Andromeda…………keep pressing refresh until it shows up………thtz whatz workin for me right now :)

Going to attempt to try to start falling asleep. Have been up for 2 full days on this thread, absolutely no sleep. Good night all, I look forward to the morning(if I sleep) and seeing the posts.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY Hope Angelina does not do this movie about Atlas Shrugged.

I brought up concerns about this controversial book on this blog in an old thread and how I was concerned as a fan that Angelina was going to be a part of this movie.

People dismissed my worries by saying it’s just a movie and told me to not worry much. Some of you fans dismiss things too easily. The ideals of this book are scarey and as a fan who has not only followed Angie’s personal life, but also the philosophy for life she talks about in some of her interviews, I am concerned as to why she would want to be part of this movie project and expose more people to ideas presented in this book. As far as I can comprehend, I don’t think Angelina would agree with the ideas Ayn Rand supports or adheres to.

It’s a trite book and it’s a bad idea for people to make it into a movie. I just do not get how Angelina could agree to be a part of this.

If you want to think of me as a nut, go ahead, but I will hold out hope that Angie does not agree to do this movie.

I believe Plan B is co-producing Atlas Shrugged. Let’s see, Plan B produced A Mighty Heart starring Angelina, and if co-producing this will be the second film Brad is involved in producing that Angelina is starring in. Keep it in the family, and the little Jolie-Pittletts can join the family business if they are so inclined.
