Katie Holmes Makes ‘Mad Money’
Variety reports that Katie Holmes will join Queen Latifah in Mad Money, which will shoot in Shreveport, La.
Based on British film Hot Money, Mad Money tells the story of three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. The third actress is not yet cast.
Katie also has dropped out of the sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred) and Heath Ledger (Joker) will begin shooting this spring.
Pictures include: Katie Holmes, Cate Blanchett, and Giorgio Armaniis past Tuesday at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2007.

No, according to Variety and Wall Street Journal she dropped from the batman sequel because of scheduling conflict with Mad Money.

It seems her Rachel Dawes has a super small part in the next batman, therefore it doesn’t really matter who gets to play her. She needs a movie where she can actually prove she can act, not another non substancial love interest role.

I don’t know what to think about Katie Holmes…I am not a #1 fan of Tom (actually, he’s on my bottom list)…I have tried to like her regardless of how much I disagree with her choices…just not there yet…quite indifferent towards her…I will say that I liked her in Batman and I am surprised she wouldn’t revive her role (even with scheduling conflicts)…maybe she thinks the new film will bring her better success than a Batman sequel…
I can’t wait for her to come back to the big screen. I actually loved her in Batman begins and am sad she is not in the sequel. Her other role seems interesting too but we should have had a leading man snog her just to annoy Tom.

I wish people would stop with the negatism about Katie and Tom. They are doing their thing, living their lives.
Lighten up people! She’s a very young girl……! It was only natural for her to become totally infatuated with TC - and perhaps it will work out - true love often does develop from infatuation. It will take her awhile to come into her own as far as her attire. Remember TC is much older and probably disapproves of her looking like she’s dressed like his daughter.

Mad Money thing is only a rumor, hasn’t been set in stone. Katie didn’t “drop out” of The Dark Knight… they obviously didn’t want her ass back. She sucked and was the weak link in an otherwise fantastic cast! Also the entire cast was under contract to make The Dark Knight…. Katie included…. if they wanted her back they would have forced the scheduling issue. Personally, I am glad that she isn’t going to be in it , because now I can go see the movie.
