Daniel Radcliffe Goes Shirtless in ‘Equus’

Okay, what’s the big commotion? I think that these photos are beautiful works of art. The ones with the jeans look a bit like a Calvin Kline ad, but nonetheless, kudos! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and for those of you who are looking for a bronze, musclebound demigod, continue reading your Harlequin novels!

Now, let’s get some things straight here. DR is a “muggle”! He’s really not Harry Potter. He is an actor who portrays him. There are only two movies left (and one on the way), which means that if these younger stars don’t start planning for their futures soon, they’ll be out of work child stars leading adult lives with disastrous fates, like (fill in child star’s name here). DR made a strategic move in starring in this role. At least he’s not in the tabloids exhibiting some absurd adolescent behaviour like dancing in a bar without his pants on, like some other child stars we know! I mean, c’mon! The kid’s got a good head on his shoulders to do something this gutsy, yet arguably tasteful at the same time.

Secondly, for the parents who are “banning” Harry Potter movies: I hope you have a really good discussion with your children (and hopefully, they’re over 5 because I don’t see the next three movies being anything lower than a rated PG/PG 13 movie) as to why you don’t want them (children) seeing them (HP movies) anymore, because if Daniel Radcliffe is really their idol, they deserve an explanation! By the way, I don’t think DR chose this role to piss off parents. He did it as a businessman and an actor who is of age…which leads me to my third thought.

DR is OF AGE. Maybe not in North America, but he is in England. And to Corey…who says the Brits are the ones who are up in arms? Like I said, he’s legal in England, but he’s not in Canada and in the US. By the way, I hear TIME magazine is having a hayday with this one!

And as I end my argument, I leave you this…for those of you who are dissing DR:
Why the hell are you in this website anyways? Instead of waisting your time telling people how ugly an individual is, why don’t you go and find a website filled with people who would listen to and respect your POSITIVE comments instead of a bunch of people who would rather kick your little asses? Just a thought.

I’m tired of negative comments form christian activists over Daniel Radcliffe going nude and shirtless! Face it Harry Potter is going up! Plus, parents should be role models for their children…. NOT Harry Potter! Daniel is doing what he wants to do and that’s great! Focus on important issues…. like the war in Iraq and let Daniel live his life as he wishes!

Holy puberty! The treasure trail is magnificent and totally male. The nipples are godlike–they are true man suction cups of perfection and pleasure. He has become a greek god. Look at him with his arms streched and look at the size of his aereolas and the enormous nipple tips. I would adore the chance to tickle and lick those tips and watch the god man beg for pity.

First, the thing people making these comments seem to be missing is that acting is a job. Harry Potter was a role. It was a job. DR was offered a job, and he took it. Equus is also a JOB. It’s a damn good job too. Look at all the publicity he’s getting– even if it is just about the fact that he’s doing a show with a nude scene. The pointless controversy alone will fill the house.

Second- it’s a nude scene. He wears no shirt. These things happen in real life as well. Actors are the “revealers of the universe.” Ergo, nude scenes and shirtless characters exist. Someone has to play them. It’s a job. If you actually read his quotes, that’s what it is to him. He’s not going naked for people to ogle him. He’s taken the part because it’s the next step in his career. You don’t just accept one major role like Harry Potter and retire. Especially not at 17 or 20 or however old he’ll be when it’s over.

Third- who the **** are you to judge? Equus was written to be put onstage. In order to be put onstage, someone has to play Alan- who by the way, does not have a “thing” for horses. Yes, he likes them but not on a sexual level. The play is about what causes him to suddenly snap and put out the eyes of six horses and have nightmares every night. It a very complex and intriguing character. An honor for any actor to portray. You don’t choose between two parts based on which has more nude scenes, but which would be a more fascinating character to play- which would be a better challenge- which would help you to grow as an actor.

So stop making a point to tell everyone how attractive or unattractive you think he is. I doubt DR even reads this page so telling him to call you or “buff up” is stupid as well. Acting is a job, not a personal ad. Get a grip.

Janet, I agree with U…but this role differs GREATLY from his previous JOBS (as U call it), so it’s very hard to imagine DR in this play…But I hope it will have a success…

OMG people come on. I agree, if u don’t like it then stop looking, shut the computer off and get a life! I Hope that he has a great career in theatre acting! U know that none of you could even size up to a 3 year old Daniel so gosh calm down. Personnally i think he looks ravishing.
Oh ya and wats with the 5 yr old thing? He’s not naked in harry potter and i don’t think he/she is gonna be going to England and buying a ticket to Equus. CALM DOWN!!! Read the book to them and let them see HARRY POTTER not some theatrical masterpiece in England. I hope that they grow up and kick u in the face for not letting them see harry potter. Gosh i mean really.

i think he looks sooooooooo much more hotter than what he used to. i have always thought he was the ugliest person on earth but now it is totally different. he needs to work on his abs alittle more. i agree that he needs to shave his “happy trail” before he ever gets close to me. besides that, what a dramatic change.
