Brad Pitt to Paparazzi: “You Guys are Unbelievable”
Brad Pitt was spotted leaving an office in West Hollywood, Calif late last night for a business meeting, reportedly. He was seen carrying a copy of a the Ron Hansen book, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (one of Brad’s new films that wrapped up last year and due out later this year). Brad, for obvious reasons, wasn’t very welcoming of the horde of paparazzi that swarmed around him as he hopped into his car. Before leaving, Brad addressed the paparazzi saying, “You guys are unbelievable.”
Other pictures include Brad and Angelina Jolie driving around L.A. earlier in the day. Also included is one scan of Brad Pitt in the table of contents of this week’s Entertainment Weekly.

good morning all!and im also in mourning…for mom marchaline!its sad for mama anjie and papa pitt, but its better…..i love them.
Good Morning BAMZS fans. I have been reading the threads here…there are a lot of haters out there without compassion. They have no souls. I wish that the razzis would just leave B&A alone even just for a few weeks..maybe…just maybe, after Brad talked to them yesterday…maybe the paps would give them a little bit of consideration. That was very gutsy on his part to stop and talk to these paps..on the freeway, mind you.
Anyway, God Bless the Jolie-Pitt family and more power to them. I wish them well.

That’s the second reference I’ve read about Brad speaking to the paps from his car. Where did you read this? What did he say? I don’t know the wisdom of engaging them in conversation while in a car, very dangerous, those guys are crazy. I wouldn’t put it past them to cause an accident just so they’d be there first to take pictures
From Us Weekly. ANGELINA’S PAIN
Her mother’s sudden death
When Angelina Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away on January 27 after a six year fight with cancer, she left her daughter in the hands of the one person who can help Jolie get through this difficult period.
Specifically, the only man who has brought stability and domesticity to her life: Brad Pitt.
That afternoon, Jolie, 31, and Pitt, 43, arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to be with Bertrand, 56, during her last hours.
“Everybody cried,” says a Jolie friend. “Marcheline told Angelina and Brad that she loved them. It was incredibly emotional.”
Bertrand herself had grown quite fond of Pitt – especially after seeing her daughter date (and, in two cases, marry) the wrong men.
Shortly before the birth of daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt last May, Bertrand told Us, “I love Brad. He is wonderful. I am very, very happy and very excited for them.”
The Babel actor even accompanied Jolie on her visits to the Raffles L’Ermitage, Beverly Hills hotel where Bertrand lived in a suite.
“Marcheline approved of their relationship completely,” says a source. “And Brad loved her.”
For more on how Angelina is coping with her sudden loss, pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands this week.

I know she had cancer, but I get the feeling that her death was earlier than expected.

Sneak attack!! And he can out run them on the bike because he can go through places they can’t. Good for him!!!
Ramey has some pics of Brad too

************************************
Cliniqua you once again have your finger on the pulse of this whole situation. Bravo!
And you know, I was thinking about this whole “triangle” thing this morning, and about how the public perceives women, and the whole “double standard for Angie” debate we have here from time to time, and I am seriously considering bringing this up as an example in a Cultural Diversity class I am teaching. Most of my students are females between the ages of 20-30, about 70% African American, about 25% European American, with the other 5% being of Hispanic and Asian origin. We have been talking about ancient cultures from all over the globe and their various views on sex, gender roles, health, medicine, reproduction, etc…
We had a discussion recently about how the spread of organized religion through Europe had an impact on women’s health in particular, considering that most of the women burned at the stake as “witches” were actually the healers and midwives, so that knowledge was lost. Now, now, before anyone goes all insane on me and says I am being anti-religion, no that’s not the way it was presented. I did not say Christianity itself was a bad thing, what was bad was the way it was imposed on the tribal people of Europe. It eradicated the existing culture, especially the Celtic culture, which had a very long tradition of successful folk medicine and herbal remedies that was lost as all the Wise Women were killed. Anything resembling that old religion was called “witchcraft”.
Celtic women were very independent and strong, had a healthy appetite for sex, were comfortable with their bodies, shared equal footing with men when it came to decision-making, and even fought along side men in battle. They also knew about reproductive control, and the women decided when to have a baby, if at all. Fast forward through 500-600 years of witch trials, demonization, and smear campaigns of the old nature-based religions of Europe to the time when American colonization was going on, and what kind of woman do you now have?
The typical American colonist female deferred completely to her husband in all matters, considered sex to be something dirty and evil and only to be tolerated for the sake of reproduction, felt it was her wifely duty to give birth every year to as many babies as possible for her husband until she died, etc…. In short, she was this mousy little thing, uncomfortable in her own skin, and completely inferior in every way to the men. (And who usually didn’t live very long, considering there was practically no midwifery anymore) Where did the spirit of the Celtic woman go? Where is that wild, free Priestess/Warrior Princess? European Americans forget they were once a tribal society, too. Yet they were quick to call Native Americans and Africans “savages” and “barbarians” who needed to be “civilized”. (Have their culture destroyed and replaced with Christianity)
So, the eradication of the old tribal societies of Europe during the Inquisitions and the “Burning Times” spawned people who at first complied with the new religion out of fear (which is not what I think Jesus had in mind), then out of ignorance because they forgot their own roots and did not pass any of the old ways on to their children. This creates people who hate things and they don’t know why! They would rather embrace the image of the image of the timid, helpless female who plays dumb and has to have help with even the slightest thing, than the untamed, wild, out-spoken, powerful Wise Woman Healer/ Warrior Priestess of old.
Of course as it went along, this attitude impacted other societies. The African slaves could be killed for practicing their indigenous, nature-based religion of voodoo because the “voodoo doll” or bochio as they are really called, resembled a tool from the old Celtic culture called a poppet that was used much in the same way. European Americans had deep repressed fears and anxieties about such objects, and in their minds, the answer to the problem, as it had been done in Europe to them for hundreds of years before, was to eradicate the culture through violence and intimidation. If you could be killed and burned alive at the stake in Europe for having a poppet, then in America, then they figured, the same should happen to the slave for possessing a bochio, or voodoo doll. They didn’t know any other way to handle it, so violence begets violence, and on and on, and religion is used as a weapon. (Again, I have a feeling Jesus would say “No, that’s not what I meant!”)
So again, as the Celts before them, in order to keep the culture and knowledge alive, the preactice went underground and tools of the old religion were disguised as every day objects.
And of course we know that the Native American culture was devastated and demonized, too.
But the point is, how all this still affects our perceptions of women to this day. Jen A is the blonde bule-eyed “good girl” who seemingly gets a pass for all kinds of public deception becasue she somehow fits a certain model of femaleness in some people’s minds, and Angie gets tied to the stake and burnt alive for daring to be an individual, being open and honest about her mistakes and admitting she has a dark side. AND she isn’t allowed to grow or evolve and talk about how her life experiences shaped the person she is today. People want to silence and malign her.
Neither woman is perfect, but one is open and honest and strong and very much in charge of her own destiny. (And she got the guy, which royally cheeses people off!) The other is dependent and inviting people to see her as a victim. I am starting to feel more and more the Angie awakens something of that old, deep fear in some people and they are threatened by her strength. It’s wierd, it’s like there is still a large segment of the population who favors a weak, dependent woman and hates one that goes her own way and bucks the system. AND the thing that kills me is alot of the people who feel that way are women. Go figure.
I think it might make for a good topic of discussion and good modern example my students can relate to, and it would be interesting to find out what side of the issue they identify with.
And of course, I can also bring up topics of race, because I am also convinced that one reason the white suburbanite housewife has such a problem with Brad and Angie is because they don’t like the idea that two little non-white children are calling Brad daddy. I really did not know people could be so racist until I read it myself.
I am thinking I might even bring in some quotes (non-tabloid, of course) from each person. Any suggestions, oh knowledgeable ones and those of you have PhD’s in Jolie-Pittology?
by the way, i’m a lurker..i post once in a while but mostly just lurk. i’ve been a fan of both Angie since i first saw her in Hackers and Brad in Thelma so combine them together, i’m hook. I’m sad for her loss but she will get through it with time and love from her family….to those who have so much negativity and hatred…ignore them, they’re fooling themselves! Hi Missouri Fan, Guli, Maria!….Los Angeles is raining hard this morning!

I really think with all my heart that no one told Brad to ask the paps to leave them alone instead of letting the security guards do it. I just think this was Brad out on his own on his motorcycle, he saw all these guys trailing him and because of the compassionate, decent human being he is he thought, let me just try and talk to these guys. To ask them for some privacy and respect during this difficult time, not for his own sake but for the sake of Angelina. Thank goodness she has him there for her.

What I’m surprised at and better not get slammed for being curious is why did Angelina spend her time traveling the world lately and not with her mom?……
*********************************************
Cancer is an evil disease. Sometimes things seem to be going on fine from day to day but it can turn on a dime. We hadn’t heard anything about her health declining other than the fact that we knew she had cancer, and this all came about rather suddenly and they obviously rushed to be with her as soon as they got word.
I think it’s been reported that Angie has been spending time with her mom over the last several months, I remember reports of her and Brad visiting. But the reality is, life does have to go on, she has a family to take care of herself, she couldn’t realistically be with her mother every waking minute unless she lived with them and we don’t know how often they talked via phone or the video phone. So for anyone to question why she wasn’t with her mother more, that’s just crazy.

Angelina Jolie’s St.John exposure pleases Kelly gray
Hang Nguyen
From The Orange County Register, Calif.
January 31, 2007 6:15 AM EST
It was a big moment for Kelly Gray when Angelina Jolie stepped onto the red carpet at the Golden Globe awards in a charcoal gray St. John gown.
That’s because Gray, the former face of St. John, a role that Jolie now holds, was part of the team who designed the silk chiffon strapless dress with an empire waist.
“It was one of my career highlights to see her in the dress on the red carpet,” Gray said by phone.
But the company added that this is not the first time the label has dressed celebrities for glamorous formal Hollywood events.
Gray described Jolie, the sexy Oscar-winning actress who’s also a mom and philanthropist, as “a pleasure to work with” and a woman with “an incredible sense of style.”
Gray, a former executive at Irvine, Calif.-based St. John and daughter of the founders, has increased her consulting work with the company since leaving day-to-day operations in 2005.
Part of her new job includes projects like the Golden Globes dress for Jolie.
According to the company, Gray and the other St. John designers used the same design to create two gowns, one black and one gray.
Since the dress appeared on Jolie on TV, St. John has received phone calls from would-be customers. However, the company hasn’t decided whether it will reproduce the one-of-a-kind gown worn by Jolie.
It was former chief executive officer Richard Cohen who inked a deal with Jolie in 2005. Since then, fashion magazines such as Vanity Fair and Vogue have published spreads of Jolie styled in St. John outfits.
Cohen said he wanted to move the company in a more Hollywood direction. He hoped it would transform the company, with annual sales of $400 million in fiscal 2004, into a global luxury brand. (More recent sales figures aren’t available because the company is now privately held.)
But Cohen resigned last year amid unhappiness from older St. John customers who didn’t like the clothing’s shift toward a younger consumer. St. John is still hunting for a CEO replacement.
Cohen’s push toward Hollywood was one of the reasons why the company introduced its 2006 designs at LA Fashion Week. It previously held its fashion shows at a staid UC Irvine auditorium.
It was rumored before the fashion show that Jolie might attend or walk the runway. But she did not come.

There are some pics of Brad from yesterday in LA where he confronts photographers and asks them to give his family space while they are grieving over the loss of Angelina Jolie’s mother.
I think that he’s taking some action, they’ve had enough.

Un-effin’-believable. Now there’s no doubt in my mind that fanistons are devil worshippers, and she is the devil. She’s the one who deserves a backlash.
I guess the baby clothes purchase wasn’t a big enough media item!
I think it is very noble of Brad to ask them nicely. Do I think they will listen? No, not at all. Plus, there are alot more than just this batch. I am wondering if they will release another statement.
On Aniston’s sudden need to communicate about her surgery? Timing is everything. What was that I just said about being weak and inviting victimhood?

Above when I said, “there are alot more than just this batch” I meant this batch of photogs that’s following him. He can’t possibly tell them all, there’s too many.
Please stop talking about _ . Show some respect for Angie.
It’s not surprising that ___ has no compassion to the point of pulling a stunt like this. She abandons her mother and leaves her destituted while she sits on her money.
People Magazine got a quick interview with Jennifer Aniston to allow her ass to tell her side of the nose job rumors and if she’s going to play tonsil hockey with Courtney Cox on the season finale of Dirt.
People: You guest-star on the season finale of Dirt as a lesbian. What was it like working with Courteney again?
Aniston: We had a ball. It was completely fun. I forgot just how much fun we have together in the work world.
People: So what about that kiss between you and Courteney? It was touted as a passionate lip-lock.
Aniston: It’s a good-bye kiss. I don’t honestly think people want to see Rachel and Monica have at it.
People: Did you two laugh when it became such a big deal?
Aniston: Of course! I think I won a bet. I told Courteney, “How many days will it take to come out? ‘Lesbian kiss! Lip-lock!’ ” It was a record: about a week.
People: Currently the tabs are having a field day over rumors about plastic surgery – your nose, your boobs. What’s going on?
Aniston: (Laughs) It’s funny. I had [a deviated septum] fixed – best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other [rumors], as boring as it sounds, it’s still mine. All of it. Still mine.
People: They’re still gonna run before and after pictures …
Aniston: Short of letting everybody have a feel, I don’t know what else to do. I really am pretty happy with what God gave me.
People: What gives you the most joy right now?
Aniston: Beginning a new day. When you see what else is going on on the planet, it’s pretty hard not to go, “Wow, thank you.”
Lies! Lies! Lies! Yeaaaah! Why doesn’t Aniston just come clean about having her schnoze fixed. She should’ve just pulled a Cameron Diaz and broke it in a “surfing accident” and then go get it fixed. Voila!
