Ashes of Angie’s Mom To Be Scattered
British tabloid The Daily Mirror reports that Angelina Jolie will take Brad Pitt and her family to scatter her mom’s ashes in the Bahamas. (Marcheline Bertrand, 56, died last week from ovarian cancer.)
Their source says: “It was one of her favorite places, so Ange wants this to be special.”

I’m not so worried about him losing his temper as his beleif that people are basically good inside. It showed how naive he is on that topic when he appealed to the papps for some privacy. There was some trusting midwest boy inside of him that no doubt died this week

None of this sounds right. Completely fabricated. Catholics do not do cremation. If there is severe trauma to the body, then it’s a closed casket. Bahamas? I think they got Anna Nicole Smith’s story mixed in. No one knows anything.
____________________________________________________________
Frenchy, that’s not correct. Catholics do allow cremation now. They had too. They could not bury all the people who needed to be buried in Catholic cemetaries.
Pitt is hardly at the end of his rope. Obviously, if he needed to be home if Angelina was upset he would be. He’s not. While she and her brother are devasted by the death of their mother people forget they were prepared for it. Marcheline battled this for many, many years.
And won’t it just be wonderful when we have FULL coverage of them in the Bahamas, spreading her mothers ashes?
And won’t it just make all of you more dedicated fans if you get to revel in and watch her grieve?
This circus is disgusting. The tabloids, the paparazzi and the blog world need to walk away from these stories. And you claiming to be fans. Stop commenting, you’re only keeping this circus in business.

Questions & Answers about CREMATION for CATHOLICS
Cremation may be a confusing issue for Catholics. At one time, the church prohibited cremation but this is no longer the case. We’ve provided some answers to the most commonly asked questions and we hope this will be helpful in making your decision.
“Lord, for your faithful people life is changed, not ended.”
When did it become allowable for Catholics to be cremated?
In 1963, the Catholic Church lifted its prohibition forbidding Catholics to choose cremation. Canon 1176 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law states, “The Church earnestly recommends the pious custom of burying the bodies of the dead be observed, it does not however, forbid cremation unless it has been chosen for reasons which are contrary to Christian teaching.”

Let’s not forget the sanctimonius ‘anonymous’ poster who frequents said blogs to rail against the masses for posting. I think we have an example here for the dictionary definition of “hypocrite”.
creamation is not a big deal, catholic or not, in my opinion…..
So sad. I’m still mourning.

One of the main reasons I love JustJared is how much you learn about the subjects that come up.
Thanks, this is really interesting. I knew there were other denomations that didn’t, and don’t encourage it, but I think it’s becoming less and less an issue with them as well.

yeah, i’m glad the “title” got changed! i didn’t know the funeral was already done. when was the funeral? no, i am not aniston and/or a razzi, just in case!:) i am brad and angie’s fan and good for them to have gotten the funeral done ASAP.
no matter how Brad beg/plea 2 the papz they will not listen 2 him, i knew that was 2 good 2b true when Brad talk 2 the papz 1 by 1 to their cars asking them 2 leave them alone 4 awhile, Brad can’t just stop the papz nu way they’ll gonna listen, Brad might just lose his patience 1 day n punch 1 of the papz, kapow hehe
Thank you for the title change.
Splash has the video of Mr. Pitt at his office and you can see that he was there for hours. Can’t wait for Angelina to dump this jerk.
One, anything the tabloids say can hardly be belived until things happen to prove it. That’s the best I can say about tabloid’s stories.
Two, the ash rumor surprised me since I thought only the Chinese do that. I thought all Americans (at least those originally from the Western world) want to be buried when they die. And the thought of the dead body being burned is just unthinkable to them. Then, this is AJ, so maybe she doesn’t believe in anything others believe anyway, or she likes to do things in other ways than the “American” way.
Three, it is equally shocking that fans on this site began to discuss the Catholic tradition of handling dead bodies because of a tabloid story, and they are beginning to talk about how the ash thing makes sense to them because they are AJ’s fans!
This is what I love about JustJared. He deletes obnoxious posts from bloggers who cross the line, and when people point out something offensive to them or makes them very uncomfortable (like the previous title of this thread), he accommodates then and changes said offensive/uncomfortable item. And he provides all of us BAMZSers a nice, decent place to congregate at.
Hi, Isabelle II. I’m still here, just lurking … will go beddy-bye soon, because I have to get up at 6:30 p.m. to get ready to go back to work.
The paps are crazy. What in the hell is that chic laughing for in picture #4?
WHOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!
OMG…check out this review of AOJJ, if there are more like this, Brad is guaranteed another shot at next year’s (or 2008) award season - this is the most amazing review I’ve read…and way to go Casey! I know there are many more to come just like it - AOJJ is gonna be HUGE!!
It’s no wonder the man is oding his best work since Angie and his babies came into his life!!

Joe Carnahan is the kick ass director of Smokin’ Aces and he’s posted this review of Jesse James on his blog. You can’t get much better than this.
THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD 02/01/2007 at 08:23 AM
Guys:
I’ve been meaning to post this for a little while and haven’t had the opportunity,
so here it is. I had the distinct privilege and pleasure of getting a sneak peek at
Andrew Dominik’s film ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert
Ford’ and all I can say is:
Holy Sh*t.
It’s so close to being a full-fledged masterpiece, it literally had me sitting there,
saying things like ‘Where the hell has Casey Affleck been?’ He’s a LOCK for some
sort of major acting nod. Be it Globe, Oscar, something. Nobody comes out of this
movie without viewing that guy in whole other light. Mindblowing. I’m not
bullshi*ting you guys. He’s that good. And Brad Pitt has never been better in
a film. He too, should be lauded for what he accomplishes with that role. The
guy projects a menace I’ve never seen and goes very, VERY deep.
There are moments of still and utter silence between characters as tense and awkward and terrifying as anything you’ve ever seen. Andrew’s ability to just allow a scene to develop gradually and let the audience watch and observe without the need for rampant schisms of rocket propelled editorial breaks is the mark of a true master. If you saw and loved ‘Chopper’ then I can’t imagine you not falling head over heels for this flick.
We throw words around like ‘brilliant’ and attach greatness to things that in the
end don’t really deserve that level of praise…This one DOES.
I’m hoping Warner Brothers understands what this film can be and allows Andrew’s
cut to see the light of day. At nearly three hours it’s something of such sublime,
elegaic beauty and vicious intent, that I don’t think we’ll see a film like it for a long
time to come.
JC
Here’s a reader’s review that was in the comments section of Joe’s review.
QUOTE
I went to a test screening of this film in Pasadena a few months ago and completely agree. Affleck is amazing in this film and Pitt keeps getting better with age. Sam Rockwell and Mary-Louise Parker are also great in the film.
Very little dialogue is spoken by Pitt and when the violence is unleashed, it is brutal and real. I think the cut we saw was easily three hours. What was the exact running time on the cut you saw Joe?
Shades of Terrence Malick, Sergio Leone, John Ford, Peckinpah. I was wondering what happened to this film. Glad to see Dominik is still toiling away on it. A close cousin to this film, in my opinion, is Unforgiven. Hopefully Warners will give this film the same treatment they gave Eastwood’s.
Also, the cinematography in this film is sublime and striking. Roger Deakins is one of my favorite DPs working today and his work on this film ranks with the work he did on O Brother, Where Art Thou. Actually the look of both films is very similar. Breathtaking cinematography.

BRAD YOU RULE!!!
There is a new video at Splashnews that’s really bad. It shows you exactly the amount of paps that are there and how rude they are. Briefly they show them at Marcheline’s hotel apartment and Brad on the balcony and then it goes to the Plan B offices and the police. They’re yelling at him and asking if Jon Voight has contacted him
inappropriate
how the f*ck does that prove he was there for hours?
you are not too smart are you.

====================================================
Let me get this straight: You want Angelina to dump Brad, the father of her three children, her Love, just because you saw a video of him at his office and assumed he was there for hours????? WTF is that?
~ * R.I.P Marcheline * ~
He was there for hours. He went there after they cleaned up the rest of Marcheline’s things from her apt at L’Ermitage. Brad’s just keeping the paps off Angelina and working at the same time.

You said it jpf! I’ve learned a lot by lurking on this site too, part of what makes it so addictive: accounting practices for U.S. charities, rice growing, lifestyle and custom in India, climate in Namibia, etc. Dragonfly’s recent post re women and society was great.
There are a lot of knowledgeable and interesting people who post on this site. But then again, this blogsite (like the world) has the good the bad and the ugly.
Is it possible for African Girl’s “The Rules” and kk1’s “Observations on different posters” to be brought over to this site? Can someone tell me how to do it? I’d really like to print them off together for future reference.
