Ferrera, Hudson = Big Hearts, Big Winners
Power voice Jennifer Hudson and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera were all curves and all smiles last night at the 59th annual Directors Guild Of America Awards held at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Calif. FYI: I am totally blasting the Dreamgirls soundtrack as I post this entry. Pictured below: Dreamgirls director Bill Condon.

I look forward to Jennifer Hudson getting that Oscar on February 25, 2007. I saw her on Oprah, she is so down to earth. Go JHud! Keep shining!
Needs larger mirror and dress.
I love how the women with curves are taking on Hollywood. Not every actress is a size 0 with blonde/black roots showing.
I absolutely love these ladies!
Did America go on a diet lately? She looks awfully slim.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! I think both ladies are absolutely sexy! Plus just because you’re a 0 doesn’t mean you’re healthier. I know some skeletons who can’t even beat me running a mile.
Sandbitch your name is well deserved!
Although it is unecessary to cross my fingers for Jennifer to win an Oscar, however, I will just to give her a little extra mojo:P
It’s interesting to see how in the minority/ethnic communities that Jennifer would be seen as sexy/thick, but in the mainstream community she’s seen as fat.
Maybe that’s why there are fewer black/latino women who are anorexic or have eating disorders.
I am so rooting for Jennifer to win at the Oscars!
I am so jealous that you have the Dreamgirls CD! I love that dress on JH!
Geesh, JH has a rack on her! Bill can practically rest his arm on it. Pretty girl though
I missed JH singing on Oprah! Crap and finally no Beyonce trying to hug the spotlight…
Sometimes I wish JH would drop the big girl dresses AKA empire dresses and be a little more daring and more cinched waisted. She’s a lovely girl with awesome curves so she should stop hiding it under the mumu.
Both are absolutely beautiful girls! Never seen Dreamgirls yet, but because of all the hype around Jennifer, I am next in line to buy my ticket.
Oh. My. Lamb. America looks so skinny. I hope she hasn’t turned into a sell out!
I like the idea of a splash of red America tried to add, but that is an ugly shoe
Yay, jj the soundrack ROCKS! I hope you picked up the deluxe version.
Go Jennifer!!!!!!!!
My fingers are crossed for JH. Thank goodness Oprah invited her back on and allowed this songstress to showcase her vocals.
No pics of JH’s boyfriend:( He’s a cutie!
JH and AF look flawless
I’m so glad that these two great women are getting the accolades. They deserve it.
What song are you listening to right now, Jared? I got the regular edition of the soundtrack, and I really regret not getting the deluxe (I downloaded it) since it is so much more complete. Wonderful OST.
J-Hud’s performance was brilliant. I still want to see her perform “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” live.
i am so glad Jennifer Hudson is getting this recognition.. not only is she beautiful with her curves but very talented as well :-) i loved the movie and i think she’s wonderful too… the lovely thing is, she’s quite humble (hope she will remain that way in the cynical world of showbiz)
ShakaZulu - I have to disagree with you (in a good way!) I’m white and see neither of these ladies as “fat” but as sexy and curvaceous! Granted I’m a little biased because my body looks more like Beyonce’s than Mary Kate’s, but please don’t paint us all with the same ’stupid brush’. To assume that all white chicks are starving themselves to look like the Olsen twins is so not true.
I understand what you’re saying, but assuming that all white people think the same would be just as silly as assuming all black or hispanic people think the same. Love these two! They are an inspiration to young women of EVERY colour.
Oh, and I love that these two are being rewarded for their talent and brains!
