HOLY NUTS! Anna Nicole Smith is dead! She apparently was found unresponsive in her hotel room. Her private nurse called hotel staff, who contacted 911 as her bodyguard performed CPR.
The cause? According to reports, it was a drug overdose. Anna was 39.
Anna collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital just after 2PM. Her temperature was running high last night, according to partner Howard K. Stern.
Anna’s son Daniel died of a drug overdose five months ago on Sept. 10. Her daughter Dannielynn (born Sept. 7) was supposed to undergo paternity tests soon…

Wow, this is shocking. While I’ve never liked her in particular, this is deeply unsettling. What makes this disturbing is that she left in a (seemingly) unsettled state of mind. Unlike some recent deaths (Marcheline Bertrand, James Brown, etc.), who truly seemed like they left the world with peace in their minds, Anna Nicole’s recent months have been just a tragedy after another, and I can’t say that she passed away in peace. I can say that if this news is true, she is in a better place now. But what will happen to her daughter?

I’m just floored. I was always pulling for her to get herself together. It’s so tragic for her baby girl. What a sad sad existence, given beauty and not enough strength to use it to better yourself. Hope she finds peace in the afterlife.

After all the turmoil she has been going through, I hope she has peace now. I’m sure Birkhead will get the baby if it turns out to be his otherwise it will go to H. Stern. He worshipped Anna so I’m hoping he gets the baby. I can’t beleive how sad I feel about this.

I’ve never been a fan of Anna Nicole’s, but my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends, and especially with little Dannie Lynn. I honestly wonder if it wasn’t a drug overdose - a judge had just ordered yesterday that a paternity test be done and there were allegations that she had been drinking, and possibly doing drugs, while she was pregnant. Regardless, I am glad that she is in a more peaceful place and just hope that her little girl ends up with a father who loves her and that the money goes to her.
Wow. I heard on our local rock radio station and I have to say I was sad. She had a hard life I do believe and I agree she just wanted to love and be loved. I wish baby girl someone who loves her to raise her and help her succeed in life. I feel sad even though I didn’t know her.

NO, we don’t know that.
Everyone that is saying it was an overdose. It has NOT been confirmed that is what she died of. The family has request no conferene be held by the hospital until they do an official autospy. Which can take a while…….. so I guess everyone that is going on and on about an overdose will have to wait and see.

I’ve never been a fan of Ms. Smith, but this is just heartbreaking. The last few months of her life were so hard for her; it seemed to be tragedy compounded by tragedy. I had held out hope that she would get things sorted out and go on to live happily ever after with her little girl, but sadly that wasn’t to be. Rest in peace.

I think he kept her drugged and dependent all this time–I saw her on TV last night, barely coherent, mumbling.. he’s always there, so “supportive”–I think he’s behind the refusal for the baby to take a DNA test because he’s after Anna’s money and will not let this one slip away! What happened to Daniel, just happened to Anna. Keep him the hell away from the baby! I bet she’s not his and that’s why he forced Anna to refuse the test, took her to the Bahamas where they’re likely to botch the investigation into Daniel’s death. I just pray that her daughter will be taken care of and that it’s not going to be about the money. Let it be because they love this little innocent child.

It’s weird… when I saw ET’s recent Anna Nicole promos, Christina Onassis came to mind. After a life of despair, Christina had a baby girl; unfortunately, the father was a womanizing lecher. Christina died young too, leaving little Athena.
I also thought about Anna Nicole’s mom… the way Anna dissed her mere days ago, and when she appeared on Nancy Grace. This is not a good day for Anna Nicole’s mom.

This death, so shortly after her son’s death and the birth of her little daughter is tragic if it happened to anyone, any woman and it is tragic for Anne Nicole Smith.
I hope her little daughter will be brought up by people who love her and care for her deeply and are wise enough to guide her through her youth when she will to learn about her mother’s tragic death. If that person is the father and he can step up to the plate, then so be it. If he can’t then someone else who will nurture this young life tenderly and lovingly - money or no money.

Howard K. Stern is not her husband…and the “commitment ceremony” in the Bahamas doesn’t count. I’d sure like to see him investigated up one side and down the other. Glad this happened stateside. Maybe due dilligence will be given to this case unlike her son’s death in the Bahamas. Guess once her estate settles on the inheritance Howard will be a very wealthy man.

I met Anna briefly at Disneyland with Howard and Daniel several years ago. She was just there to enjoy the park with her son, but you could tell she was there often because of her interaction with greeting many of the park employees. She was sweet, soft spoken and almost shy in allowing me to take her picture with my daughter and our exchange student from France, and chatting for a few moments. I bumped into her in the camera/film store and she smiled at my surprised reaction and was totally gracious. She was totally beautiful in pigtails and casual clothes. Sure, her public life showed the outrageous side. But I am sorry for her brief life and was totally saddened by the death of her son, whom she obviously loved so much.
I know she admired Marilyn Monroe, but to draw comparisons to Marilyn Monroe and Ann Nicole is disgusting. Not even close. Marilyn had a serious film career. She had beauty and talent.

I clarified that I was neither a fan nor an anti fan because I wanted to highlight that Anne Nicole Smiths death was tragic, regardless of whether you are a fan or not. The circumstances of her death, so shortly after her own son’s death and her daughter’s birth is tragic when it happens to any human being, regardless of whether that person was a celebrity or not, regardless of her public persona - which is all we really know about this woman. If this happened to a co-worker with whom I’ve exchanged no more then 2 impersonal emails, I would still feel like I feel now - very sad for her, very concerned for her little daughter. That is all.
However, I take your point that perhaps, there is no need to clarify whether we are fans or not, this is just tragic when a death happens like this to anyone.

Just wanted to clarify that Howard Stern may not end up being awarded the money by the courts. A lot depends on whether she had a will, the paternity of her daughter, and whether the courts recognize Howard as her husband (ie. does the commitment ceremony really count as “married” - I’ve never heard of there being a marriage certificate issued). There are no quick and easy answers to this one.
Regardless, it is a tragedy and I truly hope her little girl is well looked after and loved.

I expected that Anna would either overdose or commit suicide soon, but was still shocked when this popped up. I am not sure that Anna was truly responsible for any of her actions since Daniel’s death. (This includes the paternity testing–just don’t have a real feeling that she was very aware of anything really going on around her). She seemed to be heavily sedated (not partying), but sedation to keep her from being in hysterical grief due to the death of her son. Their adoration of each other seemed real. Add to her son’s death, the other pressures and legal issues around her, and people can only bear so much stress and pain. I think she was much like Marilyn Monroe (and Marilyn was considered wild for her time period) but the biggest similarity is that like Marilyn, Anna was victimized by people around her that rarely loved or cared about the real person, and there was deep pain and sadness and a need for acceptance and attention. Losing the person Anna called “her rock” was more than she could bear. I feel so much pity for her and her little girl.
The lawyers and media will have a feeding frenzy with the paternity case, inheritance issues, and pseudo-marriage issue.

The last info I had read had mentioned the methadone connection. Daniel had died from heart failure due to the possible interaction of anti-depressants and methadone and it was reported that Anna Nicole was under going detox and was also taking methadone. Some speculated that they both may have had an undiagnosed, and hereditary heart problem that became aggravated by the use of this drug.
I was also rooting for Anna to over come al of her demons and misfortunes. For some reason I do not think that Anna had ever recovered from losing Daniel and this is somehow connected to her unfortunate and premature death. : (

Some of you are just being plain cruel on this site and others regarding the death of Anna Nicole. You all seem to forget. She was a human being, with a heart, feelings, love, pain, sadness and longing, just like all the rest of us. I would hate for her child to grow up and see things written about her mother by people she did not know or who knew her past the glamours and sometimes distasteful look of Hollywood and celebrity. Again, she is a person. I deeply pray that she found GOD in all of this. In Jesus’ name I pray.
The thing we should be saying is that we hope she got right with GOD and that GOD is with her child, her baby girl, for the rest of her life. I pray that this baby grows up to a loving person, someone to take care of. One thing I noticed all my young life is that this woman loved her children and wanted the best for them.
Anna Nicole was searching for something. Perhaps GOD called her home to be with HIM to take her away from a life she could not seem to win. She had such pain lately with her son’s death, a mother’s unlovingness and custody battle and not forgeting her face in the media’s hole.

They should fix the heart in formalin and cut thin sections-do electromicroscopy and compare to the son. They should have some heart tissue or slides from the son somewhere. This is not the photo of her collapse. She collapses in her hotel room, alone. SHe was found by her nurse. There are too many people in this picture. this was probably an old one of her. I think I saw this picture a while back. I think she passed out at a club. Notice a pitcher with spilled ice cubes that is in front of her head like she either knocked over a tray or dropped a pitcher when she passed out. This is a dance floor with people standing around. All the stories say she was in her room and that she had already passed away by the time the emergency crews got there. Her last moments occurred in private. The emergency responders say they weren’t sure how much time had passed before she was discovered. This picture is bogus. I can’t believe anyone would try to pass this off as her “last moments.” It is ridiculous and cruel.

ET did the coverage of her last interview and had the makeup people there. Her face was swollen and red like someone that has been crying for a longtime. She was not joking and babytalking like she normally would have been doing. She seemed severely depressed and it seemed all she could do to even force a smile. Whatever problems she had gone through, I think losing her son was more than she could recover from. It’s sad all of the people throwing lawsuit after lawsuit could not have seen her pain and given her a little time to heal. I don’t know how anyone could stand up to the stress and heartache she has been through since her son’s death.

Almost everybody is accusing the rest of the people for the wasted life of Anna but Anna herself. Where had she been when everybody has been sh**ting her life away? How had she been doing?

I don’t think people are saying high things about her because she died of an overdose. I think many people are seeing a geniune side of Anna that really loved her child. I thought it was weird that she sold pictures of her son, and waited so long to bury him; however, after seeing her ET interviews and how hard it was for her to even pretend to be happy made me realize that it probably really was true that she was in denial and could not accept his death. For me, I had trouble liking Anna because she said and did outrageous things, talked baby-talk, and was overdramatic. We never really knew who she was. She lived the life of a character she invented so it was hard to empathize with her. Seeing her love and grief over her son was genuine and allowed us to see someone that we could empathize and feel sympathy for. I think if she had been able to be herself, people really might have liked her. She made lots of bad choices, but when someone has to deal with the depths of depression she has lived under since her son’s depth, I’m not sure you can totally blame someone for turning to drugs for an escape. It’s not good, but that is different recreational drug use. Everyone has their breaking point. It’s like seeing someone walk onto a busy freeway. You know they are probably going to be killed, but you are still sorry to see it happen.
It’s especially sad because of her baby and also because that Anna seemed to be estranged from most of her family, so it is unlikely that Danni will even get to know her family on Anna’s side. I hope that Danni’s father and Anna’s family will come together to give this baby plenty of love and stability.
OMG, I just read it somewhere else, and I was like ‘yeah right’. But it’s true! It’s not that I really cared about her or anything, but she didn’t deserve to die.
And how creepy is it that her son died just a few months ago under the same mysterious circumstances? :s (I mean, why would she take an overdose of drugs, she just had a child! and we cannot deny that she was uhm…let’s say, full of life)

Whats sad is Larry Birkhead is obviousley the father BUT there was some reason she did not want him near her. He is NO better then Howard. I truely feel deeply saddened for the loss of Anna and her son Daniel, that is just a normal feeling of the loss of any human being.I hope that the paturnity tests are done soon and that both Larry and Howard can both be positive role model in little Dannilyn’s life cause she will need that.

I belive A.N.S.’s death, her son’s death, all the drama, ties into that money she was going to inherit from her late husband. That money is evil. I don’t know Jennifer Aniston personally so I cannot comment on her personal life. As far as her public persona, I believe she is doing the best for Jennifer Aniston and no one can repute that. It’s her decisions and her decisions alone. We live in a society that needs to know all and the media/paparazzi feeds it. I feel compassion for anyone in the public eye. At the end of the day, we all have to have our privacy to deal with our pains, disappointments and happiness and it’s not for public consumptions.

Anna wrote a “diary” for the National Enquirer years ago. They hired her to just write her observations about current events, and thing going on in her life. I used to visit an elderly friend who actually subscribed to this tabloid rag and found myself reading Anna’s entries. I was often surprised that she was not as wittless as she often appeared.
I also have to agree with several other posters that Anna never said a harsh word about anyone, (except Howard Stern the shock jock on the radio). Even then, she simply would not speak about him. She always appeared innocent in terms of how she viewed people, maybe that is what people liked about her. She was hardly perfect, but the pain she must have been living with after he son’s death- I can’t believe any human being would wish on anyone.

I think that it is sad to watch a person life unfold the way Anna Nicole’s did. The murder of her son was a new low for humanity. Poor white girl was surrounded by jews - lawyers, porn barons, all the people she trusted, and now this Prince dickbrain kike surfaces. Hustled away and killed for her money. It was no more a sophisticated crime as that - killed for her money like a common street robbery.
You can take the jew out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the jew. Stay away from the ghetto.
