Her mom is black. Her father is black. She was raised around black people. She dates a black man. She identifies as black. Why is she not black?

What a joke. My mom has green eyes and freckles and is as black as they come. She makes a mean peach cobbler, a mean black eyed peas and rice and is from Georgia honey. She is black. My mom is black. B L A C K.

Most slaves were taken advantage of by their slavemasters so we inherited white genes but it does not mean we are not black.

If Beyonce was a nasty fug crack ho, you all would be the first to claim she is black. But because she is a successful, lovely woman then she can’t be black?

Some people are always making the statement about good-looking or light-skinned African Americans being part white but African Americans don’t see themselves that way. Most of them are a mixture of something - goes back to slavery times. Try to find 100% blacks in America. You can’t judge by appearances. Some darker people with kinky hair are just as mixed. Times are changing. Everything is changing. You are going to be very disappointed and more frustrated than you are now, because it’s not going to stop. Once the world goes forward, it does not go backward. I can’t stand the majority of rap music today. I hate the entire package. I liked some rap from years ago - Dr. Dre, Tupac, some Snoop and earlier stuff. I liked Dre’s gangrster rap (minus the swearing). The man created some fine-sounding music. He had a whole different sound. It was quality. I can’t stand Puffy, TI, Kanye or any of those guys. They’re weak. They make a few hits and they’re gone. Dr Dre was an innovator. Don’t pick on the black people. It’s like this with everything if you pay attention to it. We used to admire real movie stars. Now we honor nobodies like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsey Lohan. These young, skinny, talentless girls are in every magazine you pick up. How did that happen? How did movie stars and entertainment people become models? When I was a younger woman, only models were on the covers of Redbook, Self, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar etc. It changed somewhere along the line. I don’t like it because models like Christie Brinkley, Paulina Porizkova, Beverly Johnson and Cindy Crawford were gorgeous. They were supermodels and I miss that. It was a whole era. We have nothing like that today and I do not see it returning. What happened to great rock bands? You cannot blame black people for that. Where is another Journey, Queen, Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones? Where is that great music today? That was rock. That was classic. It’s been years now, so I give up. The Chili Peppers are okay, but they are nothing like Journey. Times have changed. The bands today are really disappointing. Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury had great voices. Today’s guys cannot sing. They look and sound like teenagers. This latest thing with Sports Illustrated is just another change. They’re doing to SI what they did to Vogue. Beyonce doesn’t look like a model, but she is celebrity and is considered to be attractive. Beyonce is the beginning of something else that is new. I’ve never been that impressed with that magazine anyway, so I couldn’t care less. It’s about one thing. Money. And we all know who is behind that don’t we?

It is not Beyonce’s fault. She is doing what Britney, Christina, J-Lo, Madonna, Scarlett, Uma and all the stars are doing: making money with their image.

Yes, they are putting people out of business but unfortunately celebrity sells. If you put Paris Hilton on a cover she will sell more than a worthier model.

If you don’t like it than stop obsessing about stars.

I wonder if people would be this upset if Jessica Simpson got the cover? I bet Jessica would of loved this cover or Christina Aguilera or any of those fame hungry starlets. Beyonce just happened to be the one with the best publicist. That is what it comes down to.

Remeber Britney Spears landing the cover of Rolling Stone even BEFORE her album (her first album) as released? Whereas it takes most acts YEARS to land a Rolling Stone cover.

Wake-up people. This is the nature of the business. I is nto stupid. They know where to put their money and Beyonce knows how to market herself and together they make a good team.

In the end, that is why you and I are making barely $30,000 a year while Beyonce is a multimillionaire. And why SI is in business afterall these years.

No one race of people are all alike. Whites have different shades, eye colors and hair types, but black people do too. This is inane conversation. Really.
I wonder how successful you actually are. Not so much if you spend your life getting angry about black people taking from the whites. Generally, this is the creed of racists worldwide. Only a racist is scared that blacks are going to take over society. If you were that successful you’d be living a life of luxury, enjoying the fruits of your labor and perhaps helping someone less fortunate.
Most of us understand that successful white people are not afraid of losing what they have, especially to blacks. If I were you, I’d be more concerned about losing it to Hispanics. To a racist, they should be more of a concern since they might outnumber everybody very soon.
Like the poster said, though, there is nothing you can do to stop change. If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. Be thankful you are alive today. CHOOSE to be positive and you’ll live a lot longer.
