carolynlee and freidaflo, glad you like the quote. It surfaced in my memory recently when Kylie Minogue took the high road and chastised fans who were demonizing her ex.
Yeah am definitely a fan of how Reese and Nicole handled their splits. Am all about women who are strong, who can stand on their own two feet without asking for pity/sympathy and who can hold their head high even when dealt an unexpected blow in life. Girl-power pow-wow aside though, women who rant and whine about their ex tend to be repulsive to men as well. My single guy friends tell me that when they meet a woman who speaks so bitterly of her ex, they tend to flee because they’re afraid that down the line, that bitterness will turn on them and the woman will get all “fatal” on them. Not surprising really—who wants to date someone that’s still so clearly on the rebound or who seems to be so emotionally fragile that they are guaranteed to cling to you and make you responsible for their emotional well-being thereafter? *Shudder*

You speak the truth. Yesterday, I went to visit my friends and their new baby. I watched as the mother nursed her son and the father lean over the two of them just watching with what I can only describe as an expression of pure bliss. It was such an intimate moment, I felt as if I was intruding but I couldn’t look away. I was watching a real life love story and I didn’t want to miss a thing. Besides I think for a moment they forgot I was even there. lol
I don’t ever have to meet Brad to know he has NEVER looked at Aniston or Gwyneth or Juliette or any of the others the way he looked at Angelina the first time he watched Shiloh nurse at her breast or when she makes Maddox laugh or when Zahara falls asleep in her arms. Brad’s past just cannot compare to his present and future.

My two friends and I were in a laundromat in Nice (this was in the eighties). There was a vision of a man there. We nicknamed him “Thor” and chattered away in
English about what we’d like to do to him and how handsome he was, confident that no one there could understand us. We were going on about how we wanted to put our clothes in his dryer and that’s not all.
Some other guys tried to jump the line and he spoke with them, then turned to us, smiled, and said to us in perfect English “Would you like to put your clothes in here?”
We were humiliated. He admitted he had heard and understood everything we had said.

Radar is reporting on the whacking of Star maga- zine editor Joe Dolce, whose departure from the upgraded-but-still-tawdry supermarket weekly was announced to the staff via e-mail yesterday. Radar’s view is that (a) Dolce took a bullet for his about-to-be-former boss, Bonnie Fuller, and her $2 million contract, and (b) that Dolce has been “the glue that keeps Star from ripping apart at the seams.”
An insider tells Radar that “everyone in the office knows that Joe would be breaking his ass to get out an issue while Bonnie was off doing her thing. Some describe Fuller, who recently signed a three-year contract, as having a cavalier attitude toward slumping sales at Star. The glossy’s circulation has recently dipped to a record low of about 550,000.”
Aww, what a shame. The fortunes of the Star and the people who are giving their all to keep it going are important matters. Seriously — if the Star was to disappear from the supermarket tabloid landscape, I wonder what would happen? Would there be mass weeping? Would anyone smile besides myself?

Got me thinking it has something to do with family backgrounds. The parents of these actresses are highly educated. Reese’s dad is a surgeon, Uma’s is a college professor and Nicole’s ( not sure of profession)dad. These women showed strength in character and disposition.

Lola, I think that Jennifer is a case study of how NOT TO HANDLE PUBLICITY after a high profile divorce. I get a laugh when Jen’s delusional fans talk about how Jen should hook up with George Clooney, or Mathew M or Jake G or Keanu R any of the big unattached stars and go all a twitter when Huvane’s machinery “leaks” out a date. The fact is, after the hatchett job Jennifer did on Brad in the VF interview and the milking of the break up, (and we are surely not the only people who can see that. Plenty of bloggers have written about it), what famous unattached A-list male star is going to try out Jennifer? New Relationships are more often than not, likely to miss. If you were an A-list male star, you are going to be naturally WARY of women trying to secure you for reasons other then love. If you were an A-list male star, certainly don’t need the additional fame and notoriety that dating Jennifer will bring. And you’d be ADDITIONALLY WARY of Jennifer doing a similar hatchett job on you if the relationship doesn’t work out coz you have that much more to lose then when you are just an unfamous person. (the Guy who broke Jennifer’s heart AGAIN. Can she cope??)
So, not to be mean, but simply looking at the politics of love and relationships at any work place where everyone knows everyone else, unless you fall head over heels in love with Jennifer or have a movie you’d like to promote, why risk Jennifer putting the metaphoric bunny into the cooking pot?? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Jennifer did herself a great disservice talking to VF and subsequent interviews the way she did.
Let’s face it, Tate Donovan did not say nice things about Jennifer. Brad has said some nice things at first but after the VF interview, Brad has said nothing else. the silence has been deafening. It is a matter of public record that some female assistant script writer testifies that the Friends script writers thought that Jennifer was an easy lay before Brad. What do you think people in the industry REALLY think of Jennifer??
Sure vince is an A-list male star who dated Jennifer. But look how quickly they split after TBU promotion was finished. Sure Vince shows up to PCA and says nice things about Jennifer and vice versa. He even shows up at her b’day party to show there are no hard feelings. Call me cruise (as lainey might say), but this time, Jennifer cannot appear to be blaming yet another man hence the lets play nice and friendly. But really, think of the humiliation Jen has suffered - even if she and Vince had split up by then and there was no cheating on vince’s part. Within weeks, your ex boyfriend spends a night of verbal diarrhea with a total stranger - who tells her soriety sisters that she didnt have sex and he did talk about Jennifer which she coyly doesn’t elaborate on?? tut, tut. Thank you for the circulation numbers. As you say, not sure if it can be believed. Would love to see the numbers of other tabs too. It would be interesting to see if People managed to increase its circulation numbers despite its higher price.

Great post. I’ll also add that the birthday visit from Vince Vaughn was timed so people actually don’t feel pitty for her. You just know that during the Valentines holiday tabloids would have written how lonely she is. How she needs to find a man! They would have been relentless with it. She gets him to her party and now instead of the pitty talk it is all about them giving it a second go around.
That is of course if you believe they had a first go around to begin with. I didn’t.

Nicole’s dad is a Pshychiatrist Physician. All these girls handle their divorce with absolute class. No tears, no whinning, share equal responsibility of the marriage down fall , no backstabbing of X, and move on with their life!

I agree. But I don’t think Vincey boy is considered an A-list yet. He probably wishes he is but I don’t think he’s there yet. He may have the success of TBU on his belt but IMO he’s still got to prove to the industry and his peers that he’s in that inner circle. And VV showing up at her b-day party pretty much reveals that the so called relationship they were perpetuating is not the romantic kind. Its a relationship used for convenience. Wasn’t she humiliated by VV getting on with that college co-ed? Yet you don’t hear her & her paid lackeys back-stabbing him. VV is on call everytime she needs him. How that arrangement lasts is anyone’s guess. Maybe up till her team can find a suitable replacement. LOL.
