The Daily Gorgessity: The Family Pitt

So not fair. But such a welcome change from drugs and bare heads and hoo hoos – Brad and Angelina out and about in New Orleans with Zahara and Shiloh, an idyllic normal family portrait, ignoring the overwhelming hotness of both parents, of course.

Again…so not fair.

And SO fun to look at. Sorry – I can’t get enough: of Angelina’s hair, her skin, his great sweater, Zahara’s chubby little hands munching on potato chips, and the Chosen One blessing bystanders from underneath her cozy patch quilt.

Will they attend the Oscars? Hope is frail but it’s hard to killllllll….who knows what miracles you can achieve when you believe.

Sigh.

I’ve always loved that song – why wasn’t it more popular???

Anyway, I digress.

I’m sure you’ve seen these already but if you need more quiveration – Brad in the pages of Interview Magazine looking almost as young as he did in 1998…looks like he’s having as hard of a time quitting as I am.

Jared probably hasn’t posted them because they’re copyrighted and he doesn’t have permission YET to use it. If you got the Sun’s site and try to right-click on the photo to save it you’ll get this message:

Maybe the other sites have already got permission…or more than likely they’re using the photo without permission because by the time the Sun can threaten them with a lawsuit everyone’s seen the photo and they don’t care if they have to take it down.

I think it is mean, I have always considered Mad and Z to be their children, not their “adopted” children.

And those in the media IMO show their true colour. IMO it means that they can only love a child from their own body. So what does that say about them as a person.

As someone that that is from a blended family, I find it insulting, ofensive and just plain old cowardly. It takes a good hearted person to love a child that is NOT of their DNA!

You’re welcome. This tie means good things when it comes to winning Best Picture. There’s no guarantee of course but winning editing has meant a lot in the past.

‘Babel’ rises further up, wins Eddie in tie with ‘Departed’

“Babel” editors Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise tied “The Departed” editor Thelma Schoonmaker for the Eddie Award (American Cinema Editors) last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A. The last time that two films tied in the category for dramatic features was back in 1989 when “Rain Man” tied “Mississippi Burning.” “Dreamgirls” (Virginia Katz) took the musical/comedy category and “Inconvenient Truth” (Jay Lash Cassidy, Dan Swietlik) claimed the docu slot.

Thus “Babel” earns its first guild award and it’s a doozy. Many Oscarologists believe that the Eddie Award is one of the best tea leaves we have to foretell The Biggie on Oscar night. Last year it DID foretell the “Crash” upset for best picture. However, two years ago “The Aviator” claimed the Eddie over “Million Dollar Baby.” Over the past 10 years, the Eddie has foreseen the ultimate Oscar champ 6 times (”Crash,” “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King,” “Chicago,” “Gladiator,” “Titanic” and “The English Patient”). The guild chose “The Matrix” over “American Beauty” and “Black Hawk Down” over “A Beautiful Mind” for an obvious reason: they were more frenetic, full of more zip-zip chop-chop, just what editors like to see. Neither was nominated for the best picture Oscar. So its two bum calls over the past decade were “Aviator” and “Saving Private Ryan.” Both had cinematic attributes that obviously appealed to editors over “Million Dollar Baby” and “Shakespeare in Love.”

So where does this leave us with “Babel” and “The Departed” at the Oscars?

With a big, fat “I told you so!” (Read more!) The top Oscar battle is between those two pix, NOT “Departed” and “Little Miss Sunshine.” I remain in “The Departed” camp.

gitane and kiki, I think possibly they are just now feeling relaxed enough to use a stroller in public. Most of the pics we see are of them rushing through airports and just trying to get from point A to point B. They probably feel more secure carrying the kids in a situation like that, and plus, a stroller is one more piece of equipment in addition to car seats and all that when you are traveling.

It’s nice they can just take a leisurely walk for the heck of it unmolested. If this keeps up, they may just want to stay on in NO semi-permanently. Brad did say that LA was OUT as a primary residence other than a “home base” he called it. When you are walking with a stroller and the child is right out in front that way, they are relatively unprotected. The paps in LA would stick the camera right into the stroller and pop off a flash right into one of the girls’ faces, and I can tell you, I BET Brad would lose his Zen over that, especially if it made one of them cry.

I think they must feel relaxed and secure in NO. I’m only feeling a small pang of jealousy that it isn’t Savannah….but I do console myself that at least it isn’t Charleston, SC, Savannah’s real rival……

Thank you Jared ana Audrey for the new thread and thank you for the larger picture from the Sun.

Their life in NOLA seems to suit them so fine.Both of the pictures are taken from a distance and they seem very relaxed and content. They don’t look irritated at all. That means that they are giving them the space they want even if they can’t avoid a picture taken once in a couple of weeks. We have only tow pictures of them and that is pretty enough for me.

I’m so happy to see that they are going on with their lives as a family doing everyday things like taking the kids for a walk or going for a dinner together or drop Maddox to school. They are trying to do their best for their kids to raise them well and make them good human beings.

BTW-The kids are simply adorable!!

This is exactly the reason why Angie said in that interview (forgot where) that she’s more concerned (as in worry) about Z and Madd than Shiloh cos Shi is more privileged. Ange has no illusions about the world in which all her children will grow up in. Hate and prejudice are rife…………..even within people of the same race and culture.
A-holes will always seek to make distinctions between B&A’s adopted vs their natural-born children and B&A are highly aware of this. Which mother, who has a child that is in some way disadvantaged, vis-a-vis his/her sibblings, doesnt feel more compassion for that child whenever it is necessary. Shi will be loved even by those who hate Angie! for chrissakes as i have noticed on some of the hateful blogs around. And i am sure y’all have also seen the nasty racist slurs cast on Madd and Z.
Im a great admirer of Angelina Jolie and i just love how she turns criticisms of her into water on a duck’s back.

I was composing a post saying the same thing. And you are right Angie knew how Mad and Z would be treated and she wanted the world to know there is NO different when it comes to her children.

Also it’s NOT just other blogs that do it. I have read it on this very blog and it really makes me wonder how anyone can not see children are children. As I stated before I am from a blended family and there were countless times that my dad (who happen not to be my bio dad) relatives want him to say he loved his bio children more than my sister and me. Of course, he told them where to get off.

Parents who either adopt or blend their family aren’t stupid and they know what the real world is really like. And that is why I give them all the props for NOT making a difference where their children is concern.

Regarding Oscar, I think they should attend. GG was such a big and formal “coming out” expectation that would be nerve wracking for anyone. More they show up as a couple in public, full-attired, and not to mention be glaringly beautiful, public will get used to it, and also Jolie-Pitt will become more relaxed. More relaxed they LOOK, public will get comfortable… maybe…

What great fun it would be to be able to attend Mardi Gras this year, you might get a glimpse of the Jolie-Pitt family right next to you. Yeah, I read the Ellen comment. Nice. Ebert also thought Brad should have been nominated. I’m still up in the air on whether Brad was truly snubbed or not. Now don’t get me wrong, I believe he deserved a nomination but the voting/nomination process is a weird one. Something like the #1 votes are the ones that only matter. Maybe Brad just did not get enough #1 votes to make it in the top 5. The same is true for Jack Nicholson and Michael Sheen. Supporting Actor was one of the deepest of recent years. I’m still proud of him though. He really stretched himself in Babel and he’s showing them what he’s got on the production side.

I don’t think Brad and Angie will attend the oscars but the last couple years has taught me to never think I have them pegged. We may just see them walking the red carpet a week from now and you’ll all “hear” my trademark “Sweet Fancy Moses!” :lol:

unless you’ve seen all the films and people nominated’s films, you can’t make a judgement. Brad was not snubbed for an Oscar nomination. He hasn’t had the kind of critical raves for acting in a long while. That in itself is enough. There’s a h e ll of a lot more ahead for Brad that will best the Babel performance IMO. His best work is yet to come.

Now the haters can not say that they are hiding the little baby…They were just waiting for Shiloh to be old enough to tolerate all those flashes on her little gorgeous face…

NEWS of Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson’s outing as a couple spread around the world in cyberspace within hours of it appearing on the front page of yesterday’s Gold Coast Bulletin.

Of the incident, Hilton asked, “Who do you think you are, Owen???? You and Kate are no Brangelina, that’s for sure. ****, you’re not even the poor man’s TomKat!”

US site thegossipfix.com was more interested in the elaborate secrecy surrounding the pair’s romance, saying: “Give it up you two! The cat is out of the bag.”

The story also ran on European websites, including UK fan site http://www.katehudson.co.uk which swiftly added links.

Radio stations across the Gold Coast were on the ball, placing phone calls to The Bulletin photographer from 6.30am shortly after papers hit the news stands.

“They woke me up this morning wanting me to do interviews on the radio,” said Czerny.

“It was mostly Gold Coast breakfast radio but there was also a call from Lifestyle magazine in the US.”

News media was also chasing the story and by noon, and it was picked up by the Sydney Daily Telegraph and news.com.au in Australia.

The Hudson-Wilson affair has been a hot topic in blogland since rumours first began circulating about the pair, on the heels of their sizzling chemistry in the film You, Me and Dupree.

On dailyblabber.ivillage.com, people appeared more incensed by the ‘free ride’ Owen Wilson was getting in the wake of his alleged home-wrecking antics than by the ‘home-wrecking’ itself.

Online pundit Darish asked: “Why isn’t Owen Wilson being called a ‘home wrecker’ because he came between Kate and her husband? Everyone was quick to blame Angelina Jolie for what happened between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt; but Owen is getting a free ride as far as the criticising is going.”

But Tammy leapt to their defence, saying: “I think they look nice together. No one should talk about his nose.”

Yes. I’m of the school that all children are cute. When they become adults, when personalities are included, not so much. My goodness Zahara & Shiloh could be on the cover of Child or Baby magazine they are so adorable.

Interesting indeed C! I agree with a lot of what you wrote b/c I have know doubt that old hw played a part in Brad’s snub but honestly, supporting actor cat. has always been a tough one to get into and this year was extra difficult with at least eight serious contenders that deserve to be nominated. And I really believe that Brad ’snub’was do to how he is viewed in hw.. you know the pretty face/international movie star with very limited range not the guy they saw in’Babel’. That actor showed incredible range, depth and growth as an actor. It was truly a different look for the Brad Pitt and I think a lot of those who hold the votes for academy aka old hw haven’t seen from him since his last nod. I think old hw was shocked and maybe think that it was a fluke but …as a mention…if the reviews and buzz for AOJJis to true ..BP will get his nod next year for best actor. Re: madd and z being called “adopted”

While I do trust I understand everyone’s point of saying that there should be no distinction to separate madd, z, and shiloh, I would like to just put this idea out there…

I don’t believe the word “adopted” is a dirty word. I think there is a part of wanting the media to NOT use the word concerning madd and z that suggests that to say a child is adopted is somehow suggesting that child is subpar. Adopted is just another adjective to use to describe them, I don’t see it as negative at all. If you’re going to say, “Wow, I wish the media wouldn’t call madd and z their adopted children…” That’s almost like saying, “I wish they wouldn’t point out that madd is cambodian and z is ethiopian.” I think people should start taking away the stigma of adoption by applauding and celebrating the word. Demystify it, you know. I feel so strongly about this, so I hope I’m explaining myself okay.

To end my LAP, let’s also remember that Angie frequently brings up the “adopted” word when talking about madd and z. Not always, but she has done it. I think adoption is one of the most beautiful things one human can do for another, so I love seeing the word, Especially when you see what a loving and supportive home has been created for madd and z by brad and angie. Adopted, adopted, adopted–its a beautiful word and a beautiful thing! LOL

AQUAME, thank you for sharing your thoughts. i am with you that the word “adoption” is certainly not considered a bad. in fact, i consider the term “adoption” to be a gift from any child would receive from parent (s). i agreed with MEDITERRANEAN’s comment below:

YES! It bothers me when the media ALWAYS point out or remind us that MADD and Z are adopted on the news or papers. In our eyes, it’s obvious that these kids are adopted in comparison to shiloh, brad and angie in terms of skin color. MADD and Z will see that when they are a little older and will begin to ask Brad and Angie that HOW come our skins are different mommy and daddy? The answer is up to Angie and Brad to answer when that day comes, but I am sure Brad and Angie will have their ways to telling their kids to make them feel as a family, regardless of colors and that they are not biological children. I strongly believe that MADD and Z don’t need the media or us to remind them that they are adopted either when they older to understand.

Ladies…I just want to say that with all the problems that I´m having these days, coming here (at least for a few minutes) is refreshing…

re: the People showing the Jolie-Pitt home in NOLA - now I didn’t need to read that and check the poster name to KNOW it AINT TRUE.

When it comes to the Jolie-Pitt, People Magazine DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. They unlike most tabloids including the now tabloid - Vanity Fair, Vogue, GQ etc - never took side in the last 2 years.

So, they wouldn’t invade their privacy and show their home WITHOUT their approval.

Beside, People is in a long term business with the Jolie-Pitt - they get all the exclusive pictures and stories DIRECTLY from the Jolie-Pitts. And THEY are the only entertainment magazine to get that. SO why screw it by showing such a picture.

Geez…some of these newbies must think we are dumb. NOT!

I was aware that AJ talks to Mad about his country and continent as she put it. She also recently talked about about how Mad was seeing himself in the Cambodian people’s faces when he was recently there. Like I said earlier, adoption to me is one of the most selfless acts someone can do. There is something that bothers me though when it is always brought up when talking about them. To me, again, to me, I feel it does differentiate the kids. I’ve said my piece too and I am happy that they all found eachother and came together as a family. That’s all :)

Yeah, Cliniqua, I don’t personally get the hotness of Scarlett J. However, I do get why guys are hot for her. This is how I was trying to explain it to a friend of mine when comparing Scarlett and Angie:

Scarlett is the kind of hotness that makes you think, “I could f*ck the s**t out of her! And that would be fun.”

Angie is the kind of hotness that makes you think, “God, she would f*ck the s**t out of me and I’d let her and love it!!”

My issue and the reason why i taunt you guys.. is that when you read the board, you’ll notice that each person that says something unkind about the “posers” get attacked immediately after.
Than that person leaves and the following remarks will be about their intelligence, jennifers chin, and who knows what else. Oh yeah, the mantra of getting rid of the haters. Usually followed by some link of some sorts…
it’s a bit much & i think the 10 people who are addicted to this site ruin it for everyone.
No, i do not want to hear hate and so forth. But, if someone wants to get it off their chest something they don’t like that’s cool. in the same way, i might have thought it was cool to report, earnings, managers, and picture & video links… but, that moment is gone. as long as i see all the people who have hated on so many, i’m going to think they are asses.
When you go to other sites you’ll see the lovers and the haters and somehow they all coexist. I think it’s interesting how the atmosphere has become so cultish over here. I’m not the only one who thinks this. It is mentioned elsewhere.
