Babel and The Departed tied for Best Edited Feature Film (Drama) at the ACE Eddie Awards tonight (The last time two films tied in a feature category was 1989 when Rain Man tied with Mississippi Burning.) The Best Edited Feature Film/Comedy or Musical award went to Dreamgirls. An Inconvenient Truth took the Best Edited Documentary award.

green lettuce, JoliePitt- I too am so sick of being reminded that they are adopted. We know that and after all these years you would think it would be dropped. I wonder why all the mags do that. I think it is mean, I have always considered Mad and Z to be their children, not their “adopted” children.

A child is a child!

And those in the media IMO show their true colour. IMO it means that they can only love a child from their own body. So what does that say about them as a person.

As someone that that is from a blended family, I find it insulting, ofensive and just plain old cowardly. It takes a good hearted person to love a child that is NOT of their DNA!

You’re welcome. This tie means good things when it comes to winning Best Picture. There’s no guarantee of course but winning editing has meant a lot in the past.

‘Babel’ rises further up, wins Eddie in tie with ‘Departed’

“Babel” editors Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise tied “The Departed” editor Thelma Schoonmaker for the Eddie Award (American Cinema Editors) last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A. The last time that two films tied in the category for dramatic features was back in 1989 when “Rain Man” tied “Mississippi Burning.” “Dreamgirls” (Virginia Katz) took the musical/comedy category and “Inconvenient Truth” (Jay Lash Cassidy, Dan Swietlik) claimed the docu slot.

Thus “Babel” earns its first guild award and it’s a doozy. Many Oscarologists believe that the Eddie Award is one of the best tea leaves we have to foretell The Biggie on Oscar night. Last year it DID foretell the “Crash” upset for best picture. However, two years ago “The Aviator” claimed the Eddie over “Million Dollar Baby.” Over the past 10 years, the Eddie has foreseen the ultimate Oscar champ 6 times (”Crash,” “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King,” “Chicago,” “Gladiator,” “Titanic” and “The English Patient”). The guild chose “The Matrix” over “American Beauty” and “Black Hawk Down” over “A Beautiful Mind” for an obvious reason: they were more frenetic, full of more zip-zip chop-chop, just what editors like to see. Neither was nominated for the best picture Oscar. So its two bum calls over the past decade were “Aviator” and “Saving Private Ryan.” Both had cinematic attributes that obviously appealed to editors over “Million Dollar Baby” and “Shakespeare in Love.”

So where does this leave us with “Babel” and “The Departed” at the Oscars?

With a big, fat “I told you so!” (Read more!) The top Oscar battle is between those two pix, NOT “Departed” and “Little Miss Sunshine.” I remain in “The Departed” camp.

gitane and kiki, I think possibly they are just now feeling relaxed enough to use a stroller in public. Most of the pics we see are of them rushing through airports and just trying to get from point A to point B. They probably feel more secure carrying the kids in a situation like that, and plus, a stroller is one more piece of equipment in addition to car seats and all that when you are traveling.

It’s nice they can just take a leisurely walk for the heck of it unmolested. If this keeps up, they may just want to stay on in NO semi-permanently. Brad did say that LA was OUT as a primary residence other than a “home base” he called it. When you are walking with a stroller and the child is right out in front that way, they are relatively unprotected. The paps in LA would stick the camera right into the stroller and pop off a flash right into one of the girls’ faces, and I can tell you, I BET Brad would lose his Zen over that, especially if it made one of them cry.

I think they must feel relaxed and secure in NO. I’m only feeling a small pang of jealousy that it isn’t Savannah….but I do console myself that at least it isn’t Charleston, SC, Savannah’s real rival……

I’ve been looking around the celebrity sites and ALL them have very nice words to say about the B& A family photos and the Interview article. I’m not talking about the comments, I only open them here at JJ… but the actual presentation is so positive everywhere. :)

Their life in NOLA seems to suit them so fine.Both of the pictures are taken from a distance and they seem very relaxed and content. They don’t look irritated at all. That means that they are giving them the space they want even if they can’t avoid a picture taken once in a couple of weeks. We have only tow pictures of them and that is pretty enough for me.

I’m so happy to see that they are going on with their lives as a family doing everyday things like taking the kids for a walk or going for a dinner together or drop Maddox to school. They are trying to do their best for their kids to raise them well and make them good human beings.

BTW-The kids are simply adorable!!

Yes, one lucky American child may soon find
him/herself being raised by a nanny on Jennifer Aniston’s payroll, and in Jennifer Aniston’s house, because she wants to adopt.

Or so we heard.

sleeping homeless people in the face. Now the fad sweeping Hollywood is
adopting malnourished foreign children right out from under their
parents. If you don’t believe us, see exhibits A, B & the letter which falls appropriately next in alphabetical succession, whatever it chooses to call itself at this time.

When Jennifer Aniston isn’t reuniting with former cast-mates,
her biological clock is really ticking! Some might argue her fragile
window of fertility is slowly closing, while others would argue she
makes a zillion eggs a day and then stores them in Mexican women.
Whatever the case, Jen wants to adopt a homegrown all-American kid -
not no stupid gay-wad alien baby. A dubiously unnamed source tells a
dubious named source:

“Jen has thrown herself into adopting and wants it to happen straight
away. She toyed with the idea while she was with Vince but began
looking in December after they split. She turned to friends for advice,
including Oprah Winfrey, who advised her to adopt an African child, but
she has settled on an American baby.”

Word has it Aniston’s currently got her lawyers approaching adoption
agencies about child finding possibilities. Think about the proposed adopted child’s
life for a minute - one second he’s a colliding sperm & egg in the
back seat of a prom night pinto, and the next he’s got like a dozen
butlers, an inground swimming pool, and a cupboard full of spam.

Would that we all lived in such unfathomable luxury.

Susie, did you watch the deleted scenes from last week’s ep of the office? Pam hung a poster about her art show in the kitchen and when Karen saw it she tried to tear it down so that Jim couldn’t see it. Fortunately, Oscar came before she could do anything…this makes me think that Pam didn’t even invite Jim or Karen.

Hee, don’t label Jammy lol I’d rather have him wear that than the blue “spoiled” hoodie…blah. That’s such a Paris Hilton outfit.

But with you, you actually had to come up with a name derogatory to Angelina, and then slam their thread, and actually slam the little children’s looks. Something wrong with YOU, then.

It seems that we can’t go through any thread without mentioning Jen. As it said on #77, who cares?

I hope that Jen is happy.

I hope that Jen is full of life.

I hope that Jen has nothing to worry about in her life.

I hope that Jen gets everything she likes and wants.

BECAUSE, in this way, Jen can let go Brad and leave everything in the past as memory, go on her life without him.

Otherwise, we are always going to keep on having Jen and some people who like to mention Jen in every single comment unnecessarily and obsessively.

By mentioning Jen non-stop means that we as the fans of the Jolie-Pitts are still giving importance to her. Do not tell me that we don’t care. If we don’t care, we are supposed to ignore her in every single way. But we have not done it yet, unfortunately.
