Angelina in Mourning, Drops to 109 Pounds

Life in the Big Easy has had its challenges for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt since they moved to New Orleans in January. Ever since Jolie’s mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died of cancer last month, the star just hasn’t been the same, sources say.

Jolie’s emotional distress has resulted in a noticeable weight loss. The 5-foot-8 star now weighs 109 pounds, says a source close to the couple. “She isn’t eating.”

Jolie, 31, is also “very lonely and desperate to make new friends,” the source tells Us.

For now, she has been importing a support system by flying in old childhood friends from LA.

The source adds: “Brad has been worried about her day and night. She has been under so much stress, and Brad is trying to be understanding.”

Lauren Swinney has led — and is still leading — an extraordinary life.

Sunday, the day she turns 85, she will star in her own one-woman show, “The Empress of Louisiana,” a celebration of the life of her daughter, Holly Bernheisel.

Swinney is a superb stage actress, seen memorably here as Lyla, “The Lady of the Lamps,” in “Talking With . . . ” at True Brew Theater; as the haunted, funny, radiant Bella at Southern Rep in a rare production of Tennessee Williams’ last completed play, “A House Not Meant to Stand;” and as one of Diana Shortes’ “Women of the Storm.” She now has an agent and is doing commercials and movies. In her latest, small film role, she will appear opposite Brad Pitt, in the screen version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which has been filming here.

“He is such a normal and natural young man,” Swinney said of Pitt. “But a bit mischievous, too. He introduced me to the director (David Fincher, who directed Pitt in “Seven” and “Fight Club”) and said, ‘You have to watch out for him!’

“We were filming in a freezing house in January, and he took off his gloves to shake hands, and I enjoyed that touch, that moment of contact, very much. He made sure I met everyone on the set and put everyone at ease.

“They treated me like a queen. I had my own trailer with my name on it, and the food was so good. When I complimented the berry cobbler, the chef came out and prepared some for me to take home. Really, it was one of the best days of my life,” Swinney said.

I think this rumor is true. I have friends who were at this orphanage picking up their little guy just last month. No one saw Brad and Angie, but the facilitators talk amongst themselves (this orphanage works with a lot of agencies) and the rumor was all abuzz. I didn’t say anything here because every time you adopt you don’t want to make it a big deal until it is FINISHED, cuz so much can go wrong or get delayed. Look at the media circus that was Madge and David. Adoption gods, please make it go fast for them and please don’t let anyone find out when they are traveling to get their new boy!!!

Plan B’s The Zebra Murders: The Zebra Murders has been optioned by Plan B, actor Brad Pitt’s production company, for adaptation as a movie. A source familiar with the matter says that Plan B is on board to develop the film for DreamWorks Pictures, and that an announcement by the studio may be forthcoming in several weeks. Among the actors’ names being floated to portray the two black Zebra murders sleuths are Jamie Foxx and Will Smith

I thought it was already understood around here that tabloid stories don’t count for anything, yet we still have to keep reminding and educating people who insist on copying and posting them here.

NEWS FLASH for those of you jumping on the bandwagon: This is a tabloid story.

Most of us have the good sense not to believe these fictitous plays that were born in some dingy office cubicle in LA.

And that goes for the “too skinny” stories and the “relationship problems” stories, too. There is no evidence that these two are any more than happy and content with the life they have made for themselves. Their children look happy and well-taken care of. They are just going about the normal business of being a family. There is no scandalous dramatic story for tabs to feed off, so they make up stuff or “predict” stuff based on things that are already public domain.

Tabs know that if they keep predicting that Brad and Angie are adopting sooner or later they will get it right, because B&A have both said they will adopt again. Then they can blow their own horn and tout how they were “right”. Forget that they got it wrong about 764 times before, that doesn’t matter, lol!

The biggest eyerollers here are the stupid people who are already condemning them for adopting too soon, saying their relationship can’t handle it, etc… PUH-LEEZE!! haha!! Angie said out of her own mouth in December that another adoption “wouldn’t be any time soon”, but jeez, I guess that doesn’t matter since that paragon of journalism US Magazine said it was so, it must be true, right?

You have to be dumb as a rotten stump to believe tabs.

WOW! Thanks for the read and I hope it’s true with Foxx and Smith being players in the film b/c those two are two of the hottest actors around. Will S. can put some bootys in those seats.

And Dragonfly…ITA. Until I hear word from Brad’s publicist, I’m not believing the story.
