Beyonce’s voice was not flat… both women did a great job… They have different sounds and tones… If J-hud sounded like Beyonce you all would be saying she should have just done the movie with DC.

These two extremely talented African American women did their people proud.. They are the talk of hollywood… Concrats to J-Hud

Jennifer has a Deep, Heavy [fat persons] voice. not to mention she was a church singer as a child, all they do is yell.. I hate to say it, but if you close your eyes really tight, you can tell she is a fat black women.

Fug Face Maniston, gotta disagree. Yea a lot of those church ladies sing alike, but there is nothing like a great spiritual sung by a 300-pound black lady.

Also, some of the best singers sang in church - Aretha, Whitney… many more. In a sea of sameness, there are always some real unique pearls who emerge from the black church.

I don’t like Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson. Beyonce looks glamorous, but she fits right in with the ghetto crowd with her ugly boyfriend Jay Z. Beyonce can sing but she tries too hard to be a diva with her “forced” quivering voice and cartoon-character attitude.

Hudson is too… ordinary. She does not stand out. I agree a little with comments above about Hudson. She can sing, but there are too many nonfamous black female singers in church who sound just like her. Her voice is not unique.

I hated Dreamgirls. Yes, I said it!!!! I was bored. Please get some more fine black men in Hollywood–fast!!. Jamie Foxx is giving me a nightmare headache. He’s everywhere. There are no good-looking black men in movies these days. Denzel Washington is the last of a dying breed. Such a shame!

Ha-ha! Eddie Murphy did not win. Serves that turkey right. He probably only hooked up with Tracy Edmonds to have a pretty lady on his arm for this event. He’s so pretentious. Now he’ll dump her and go back to his street-corner-walking trannies. He’s a cad. He messed up his marriage. It should have been his wife on his arm since she put up with his cheating butt for so long. With five kids, if he couldn’t take his wife, he could have taken his oldest daughter or a family member. Certainly, don’t take a new woman with you to this important event. Truly disgusted in him. He can’t pay to get an Oscar after his pitiful behavior.

I guess black women have a hard time setting high standards for themselves.

I admire Oprah for the good she’s done for others, but when she starts talking about being God’s child and God this and God that, I get disgusted because she’s never been married and has been shacking up with Stedman for like 20 years. Her latest thing is calling those African students “her girls.” Pleeaaase! If she wanted to be a mother, she should have had her own babies or at least legally adopt them. That makes more sense than calling these girls her girls when she is not fully responsible for them.

Beyonce tries hard, so I will give her that. She’s cute and has a voice, but she’s lacking in a lot of things, mostly common sense. Dating Jay Z? I’m sorry but that just ruins the picture for for me. Date an athlete or some other black businessman. Not an ugly ghetto rapper. I cannot get her actions out of my mind. To me, she’s just a regular black girl with a pretty face and a bit of talent. Nothing special.

It is part of a tradition.

When Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, sing they are influenced by that tradition.

Go buy a Mahalia Jackson album and listen to what a fat black woman can sing like and see how your soul can soar to heights you never thought it could.
