The new track “Beautiful Liar will be included in Beyonce’s re-release of her ‘B’Day’ album on April 6. The album will also include six Spanish language tunes.
Said Shakira of her Beautiful Liar twin, “Beyonce has a very good accent when she sings in Spanish and I think anything that she wants to do she will do just fine, because she is a very determined and focused woman and that is something to admire. She is a great artist.”
She added, “She is an amazing performer and also a sweet person and a very nice human being and I am so thrilled and thankful for her invitation. It was her idea to make me a part of her album and it has been wonderful.”

I was forced to watch the video without sound, because I am at work. Did they even need to sing? I can only hope they sound as good as they look, which I will find out when I get home.

The song sucks BUT the sure look good, I’ve always thought that they could be sisters (with Mariah Carey during her curly haired days) so I couldn’t even set them apart sometimes while I was watching the video. years ago on data lounge, when it was still popular and free, I said Beyonce ripped Shakira off as far as stealing her look. This was when she first started wearing Shakira’ wigs and dancing like her. Well it started a war, till a few people who were familiar with Shakira (this was when she was mostly popular only with latinos) came to my defense to say that Shakira has been around for far longer than Destiny’s ex Child. I wish Shakira wasnt so sweet with everyone especially someone who so blatantly imitated her as far as her appearance and moves go.

My album has raised money for families of war victims in the Middle east I make no profits of it ALl the proceeds goto chartity organizations with aid too. I liked the video. It was hard telling them apart at times. LOL! The original song with just Beyonce is better than this one. Their voices just don’t mix. I didn’t think Beyonce would be able to hang with Shakira in the hip rolling division, but she sure proved me wrong.

The fact that most posts on Beyonce result in negative comments might have nothing to do with how talented or beautiful she is but how hard her team (and Beyonce, herself) are trying to get under people’s skin. It’s called overexposure. And if she was as talentented and smart as some of you say she is then she would take a break.
That combined with her smug, cocky demeanor don’t exactly endear her to the public. I for one was a huge DC fan, do I like Beyonce now? Hell no. She’s so full of herself it makes me cringe. There’s a fine like between confident and arrogant.

I think you are wrong about their voices not working together. I think the song itself sucks. The vocals work and the dancing…what can I say? They both did it for attention and they obviously got it! Two Points of View:
1. As a person who likes some of Shaki and B’s music: the song is terrible. Beyonce has just stopped trying! You think good albums need to be re-released? This duet was a desperate attempt to pick up sales and get some MORE attention. Shaki must have had to repay some debt to someone, she didn’t need to this. She needs to spanish albums where I can somewhat understand her.
2. As a professional Belly Dancer: There is nothing worst than having teenagers come to my classes asking me to show them how to dance like Shakira. It is faux belly dancing! The “hip rolls” are technically called “Maia” and are taught in beg belly dance classes. The chest pop is simply that, nothing spectacular. And come on, even a cart-wheel looks good in slow motion. I DARE SAY, THAT NEITHER ONE IS A GOOD DANCER! Decent yes, good, NO. Shakira arms and hands need serious work and Beyonce should just sit on a stool and sing. The last shot where she was holding on to the wall forcing her butt to do whatever the hell is what doing, was like a cat being electrocuted. Awful.

The concept was amazing. This is the first time I have ever seen two artists from two different, often opposing countries unite on terms of empowerment. A fabulous duet, the voices harmonize wonderfully and the video itself. Whoever says these two can’t sing is extremely biased, these are some of the most talented vocalists available to popular entertainment. While the video could have been done a bit better, I understand that it was made to emphasis similarity in that these two women are more similar than different and they can unity with one another to become stronger. A very powerrful statement towards merging feminism with confidence in one’s sexuality as it is defined outside of men and thier behavior. I am not anti-male by any means, I just think it is one of a multitude of necesary angles to take in our society.
As a new concept, it is rough around the edges. The end scene of the video was a little bit cheesy. However, if this is the kind of message popular artists want to send to thier audiences, I fully support it.

You all are just used to the same music formula and anything different goes against your programming! B-day (the album) was hot too. I thought the song was ok and the video was nice. It might not be the best song and we are all entitled to our own opinion but its undeniable that both of these women can sing regardless of their sex appeal. These women sound great live, better than alot of people. Because they appeal to the pop culture doesn’t mean they have no talent….That sterotype isn’t true for all singers, although it does apply to most. I think both of these women have proved they can sing, especially beyonce. Lets not forget the Grammys for Dangerously in love…she killed it and Shakira has a beautiful voice also. I think I was expecting a huge vocal arrangement since Beyonce has the better vocal chords, however, the dance moves are great and truthfully . . . Beyonce is what made the video hot. I agree Shakira is talented and the two resemble, but I don’t think she can sing. Infact, I think Shakira gargles too much. i am a big shakira`s fan and her voice rocks in this song….i think the song in certain way give a ” make up” to shakira`s voice making it sounds for a side less carnal but more soft and clever…something very common in pop music, anyway this song is a prove that dirty pop really can give to shakira some new ways and tastes to her voice….this is taking in considerate that i follow her work since 1995, the video also give an upgrade to shakira stile making her look so smmoth and comercial…………….well i know that the song is not the greatest, but is an effective pop song, i mean their voices matches very well, and light years as others stars colaborations, as the experiment called me against the music………………..

It really upsets me to read some of these comments. I know that ppl say everybody is entitled to their opinions blah blah blah but I really can’t stand some of what I’m reading. All this negative junk is ridiculous. I like Beyonce and Shakira. Whoever keeps saying Beyonce doesn’t need Shakira or Shakira doesn’t need Beyonce clearly has missed the point of the collaboration. Obviously, neither of the 2 NEED each other, it was a matter of what they wanted and what they thought would be a great collaboration and they were right. The video concept is freakin’ awesome, B looks amazing as usual and Shakira looks hot too. I like the song. I will admit that their voices together is a very different combination but the vocals in and of themeselves are good. Check your ears.
And to the person who said that you don’t need talent to sing today, while that is certainly true for several artists, it is not the case for either Beyonce or Shakira who both have very beautiful and unique voices.
Oh, and to the person who said Beyonce is full of herself, I have a feeling you’ve never seen or read an interview with her because she is neither arrognant nor superficial. This coming from someone who used to hate a little. Actually she is probably one of th most humble celebrities in the biz. Perhaps her videos belie her true personality but you must keep in mind that ACTING takes place in videos. And while I like Beyonce I am not a huge fan of her or her music but I cannot stand when ppl say things having absolutley no idea what they’re talking about. And clearly everybody is paying attention to Beyonce otherwise there would be no need for this disscussion. She is probably one of the hottest chicks out so she really doesn’t need to pull any stunts to get attention. This is my all time favorite Beyonce video. Its sexy, sassy, and I like the dancing. Im not a big shakira fan but shakira did her thing in this video too. I do think at times Shakira outdanced beyonce and if u looked at the screen close enough when it is posed to be the two of them it was actually two shakiras at certain times. But beyonce did her thing with the dancing. But I loove this song and I think its pitiful to hate on her cuz she doin her thing both in english and spanish. And as far as cocky or arrogant, I have never heard tell of B being anything like that. And im a big b fan so whenever possible i look and listen out for her or gossip. where u here that from i dont know. But from interviews i have seen. She is so down to earth.
