The new track “Beautiful Liar will be included in Beyonce’s re-release of her ‘B’Day’ album on April 6. The album will also include six Spanish language tunes.
Said Shakira of her Beautiful Liar twin, “Beyonce has a very good accent when she sings in Spanish and I think anything that she wants to do she will do just fine, because she is a very determined and focused woman and that is something to admire. She is a great artist.”
She added, “She is an amazing performer and also a sweet person and a very nice human being and I am so thrilled and thankful for her invitation. It was her idea to make me a part of her album and it has been wonderful.”

Two Points of View:
1. As a person who likes some of Shaki and B’s music: the song is terrible. Beyonce has just stopped trying! You think good albums need to be re-released? This duet was a desperate attempt to pick up sales and get some MORE attention. Shaki must have had to repay some debt to someone, she didn’t need to this. She needs to spanish albums where I can somewhat understand her.
2. As a professional Belly Dancer: There is nothing worst than having teenagers come to my classes asking me to show them how to dance like Shakira. It is faux belly dancing! The “hip rolls” are technically called “Maia” and are taught in beg belly dance classes. The chest pop is simply that, nothing spectacular. And come on, even a cart-wheel looks good in slow motion. I DARE SAY, THAT NEITHER ONE IS A GOOD DANCER! Decent yes, good, NO. Shakira arms and hands need serious work and Beyonce should just sit on a stool and sing. The last shot where she was holding on to the wall forcing her butt to do whatever the hell is what doing, was like a cat being electrocuted. Awful.

The concept was amazing. This is the first time I have ever seen two artists from two different, often opposing countries unite on terms of empowerment. A fabulous duet, the voices harmonize wonderfully and the video itself. Whoever says these two can’t sing is extremely biased, these are some of the most talented vocalists available to popular entertainment. While the video could have been done a bit better, I understand that it was made to emphasis similarity in that these two women are more similar than different and they can unity with one another to become stronger. A very powerrful statement towards merging feminism with confidence in one’s sexuality as it is defined outside of men and thier behavior. I am not anti-male by any means, I just think it is one of a multitude of necesary angles to take in our society.
As a new concept, it is rough around the edges. The end scene of the video was a little bit cheesy. However, if this is the kind of message popular artists want to send to thier audiences, I fully support it.

Beyonce and Shakira looked amazing. They compliment each other very well, and to me the song is hot. You all are just used to the same music formula and anything different goes against your programming! B-day (the album) was hot too. I like how Beyonce changed everything and made put herself back in the music spotlight. All the negative comments are useless.

I thought the song was ok and the video was nice. It might not be the best song and we are all entitled to our own opinion but its undeniable that both of these women can sing regardless of their sex appeal. These women sound great live, better than alot of people. Because they appeal to the pop culture doesn’t mean they have no talent….That sterotype isn’t true for all singers, although it does apply to most. I think both of these women have proved they can sing, especially beyonce. Lets not forget the Grammys for Dangerously in love…she killed it and Shakira has a beautiful voice also. Beyonce gets on my nerves but regardless of how you feel about their personalities be big enough to admit that they have talent.
Especially when alot of their peers suck at singing…Britney, Lindsey, Paris and the list continues

I think I was expecting a huge vocal arrangement since Beyonce has the better vocal chords, however, the dance moves are great and truthfully . . . Beyonce is what made the video hot. I agree Shakira is talented and the two resemble, but I don’t think she can sing. Infact, I think Shakira gargles too much. She sounds as if she has either mouthwash in her mouth or a mouth full of marbles. Beyonce doesn’t need Shakira- that’s for sure!
