Shiloh’s Rockin’ Carriage Ride

Shiloh’s Rockin’ Carriage Ride

Baby Shiloh and Maddox enjoy a quaint carriage ride on Tuesday afternoon in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Babysitting Shiloh, 9 months, and Maddox, 5, were grandma Jane Pitt and Angelina’s assistant and friend, Holly Goline.

Noticeably missing was Zahara, 2, who went on a stroller ride with Shiloh just the other day accompanied by Grandma Pitt.

Brad Pitt was probably busy at work filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was recently seen at an Oure-Cassoni camp in eastern Chad.

And apparently, according to the carriage, call 943-8820 for a good time!

Thanks for posting the link to the charity event that Angie and George are hosting in New York in May. I am definitely going to attend and will be visiting my old school, NYU same as Angie’s.

Jared, Please ban bee says…. sore loser!

This is an interesting article written by a university student. I’ll just post the parts pertaining to Angelina.

http://media.www.kykernel.com/media/storage/paper305/news/2007/02/28/Opinions/Not-All.Pretty.Women.Are.Dumb.Why.Does.This.Shock.The.Press-2749067.shtml

Not all pretty women are dumb. Why does this shock the press?

Aging journalists always bemoan how young people get more news from “The Daily Show” and the Internet than from traditional print sources.

They’re right: You can learn a lot from the papers that you don’t get from John Stewart. For instance, in recent weeks, U.S. newspapers have taught me many things I had never known about women.

The first lesson I’ve learned is that an attractive woman can make no contribution to society that is more valuable than her own looks. In fact, the thought of a beautiful woman doing something socially or politically important causes great cognitive dissonance.

Hence the New York Post’s Feb. 25 story “Angelina a Babe Amid Brainiacs,” about Angelina Jolie’s recent admittance to the Council on Foreign Relations, an exclusive and influential Washington think tank.

You see, there is no chance that Jolie is a “brainiac” herself. How could the star of “Tomb Raider” be anything more than an empty head attached to a gorgeous body? It’s inconceivable.

Luckily, the Post is aware of all this, as the first line of their story makes clear: “The prestigious Council on Foreign Relations is about the get a jolt of sex appeal.”

It’s not a jolt of activism on the part of genocide victims in the Darfur region of Sudan, nor a jolt of expertise about the numerous other humanitarian crises in Africa and other developing areas. After all, Jolie’s figure is much more interesting and newsworthy than those other qualities. Or so the Post thinks.

Maybe instead of babbling about Jolie’s relationship with Brad Pitt throughout 2005 and 2006, the press could have sent more reporters to Darfur to cover the ongoing genocide there. Then journalists might understand why Jolie’s admittance to the Council on Foreign Relations is about much more than providing “eye candy” for Henry Kissinger.

Great article re: nomination of AJ to The Council on Foreign Relations

……………On Tuesday, the ICC’s chief prosecutor linked Sudan’s government to atrocities in Darfur, naming a junior minister as a war crimes suspect who allegedly helped recruit, arm and bankroll the murderous desert fighters known as the janjaweed. A janjaweed militia leader was also named in the case.…………….

The conflict has claimed more than 200,000 lives and displaced 2.5 million people. Fighting erupted in February 2003 when ethnic African tribesmen took up arms, complaining of decades of neglect and discrimination by the Khartoum government. Sudan’s government is accused of unleashing the Arab janjaweed, which is blamed for widespread atrocities against ethnic African civilians in Darfur.

BCBG,

update from BBC:

Sudan’s humanitarian affairs minister, accused of war crimes in Darfur by the International Criminal Court (ICC), has said the move against him is political.

Ahmed Haroun said he “did not feel guilty”, his conscience was clear and that he was ready to defend himself.

The ICC accuses Mr Haroun and a Janjaweed militia leader, known as Ali Kushayb, of 51 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Some 200,000 people have died in the four-year conflict in Darfur.

The United States has urged Sudan to co-operate fully with the ICC, but Sudan says it will not hand over the two suspects as the ICC has no jurisdiction to try its citizens and its courts are capable of prosecuting the suspects

Also, another celebrity- activism news :

Oscar-winning British actress Emma Thompson has called on Tesco to ensure its suppliers of fruit in South Africa adhere to laws on working conditions.

Ms Thompson, who was in the country with the charity Action Aid, visited one of the farms that provides fruit to the UK’s biggest retailer.

“They work in a big shed, and they stand for 11 hours. There’s a little break but there’s nowhere to sit,” she said.

“They’re paid 38p an hour, are casual labourers and unfortunately come back year after year for this labour. They’re trapped in this cycle of poverty by this contract between worker and farmer.”

The star of Sense and Sensibility visited the farm with a group called Women on Farms, which tries to improve the conditions for women working in the region.

“There is fantastic constitutional legislation to protect workers like these but it’s not put into practice on the ground,” she said.

Both are from BBC web-site.

Thank you Q4 & BCBG for the video links. So much better than the entertainment shows. They wasted so much time talking about Anna Nicole. Poor woman can’t even die in peace. What a circus!!!

Thanks again!!

I was going to answer you but I realized it will be a waste to try and reason with you. So, I’ll be like Angelina and not give a damn.

I found this funny text from a blogger in NOLA:

Benjamin Button

The other day a friend of mine posted about the general annoyance that accompanies the filming of a movie in one’s neighborhood. I read the post and thought to myself “But Asenath, it’s Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt.” Well, I got home today, and there was a little notice in my door saying that they would be filming in my neighborhood and that I would be unable to park on my street for three days, starting tomorrow. Anyone who’s read my previous post about parking knows that I hate it when I can’t park at my house. Plus, people get shot near my neighborhood. Not a lot, but it’s been known to happen, especially lately. So, all I gotta say is that I better not get mugged, or heads are gonna roll. As preemptive measure, I propose that Brad himself should walk me home to protect me. That, I am sure, would erase all annoyance caused by lack of parking. You know, it’s just a suggestion.

Being in Africa is suspect? Suspect of what may I inquire?

Please tell me how one “husband steals”? What medicine do you use to subdue the person to be stolen? What type tape is preferable in taping a mouth shut? What is the best time of year to carry this theft out? Is it best to make sure the person to be stolen lives in a one story or two story house? What do you prefer to bind the subject to be stolen with? Hemp? Plastic rope? Clothesline rope? Old clothes? How do you determine how many people you need to help effect the theft? How do you keep the stolen person docile? How do you keep the “stolen” person from running away? I mean, of course you know the answers to these questions because you are an expert, aren’t you?

HOW STUPID AND BITTER YOU ARE!! NEITHER A HUSBAND NOR A WIFE CAN BE STOLEN!! STOP WITH THIS PITIFUL REFRAIN. TRY THINKING FOR A CHANGE IF YOU CAN. SOME MARRIAGES ARE SUCCESSFUL AND SOME MARRIAGES FAIL. THIS WAS NOT YOUR MARRIAGE.

YOU ARE TRULY IGNORANT. GERBER BABIES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BABIES.

YOU ARE SO IN THE MINORITY. MOST PEOPLE ARE TOO BUSY TRYING TO LIVE THEIR LIVES THE BEST THEY CAN TO DISPLAY THE PREJUDICE YOU DID IN THIS WAY ABOUT PEOPLE AND CHILDREN WHO YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW. YOU WOULDN’T RECOGNIZE GOODNESS IN ANYONE IF IT SLAPPED YOU ON YOUR HEAD BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY LACK FUNCTIONING BRAIN CELLS.

hmm…isn’t there another lola?? One who’s a bamzser??

#241.. that post is too funny!!

I apologize to all for responding to Lola. This has been such a positive thread and then this Lola just had to try to inject her ignorant ranting. I’ll restrain myself in the future, OK. But it felt good, yes it did, to respond.

yup. very very cute. I want to pinch those cheeks and make her cry. lol. Don’t ask me why. The crying I mean. i know people tend to run away when babies cry, but not me. hahaha….wait, i do run away!

anyway, I wish my sister’s kid was at that age, then I can pinch and squeeze her. lol. but alas…she’s barely 2 months old, and I have to be very careful. I satisfy myself by carrying her and poking those fat cheeks. i mean loveable cheeks. lol

don’t be sorry #247… It is always nice to put your senses in sometimes, because people like that are annoying, nothing nice to say.. I wonder how they live their lives on a daily basis…
