Brad Pitt is “Just Awesome”
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is “a lyrical, brooding, atmospheric anti-Western that gave me the goose bumps numerous times throughout the 2 hour and 20 minute run time.”
And Brad Pitt’s performance? AWESOME!
“Brad Pitt plays Jesse James with cocky swagger and is just awesome. He owns the role, it’s like it was tailor made for him. Just watch the way the guy smokes his cigars and moves his head and eyes….methodical and unnerving.”
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is supposedly going to hit theaters on Friday, Sept. 14.

Yeah an Oscar award is nice and all but definitely not the only measure of an actor’s/actress’s talent. They overlook so many deserving people it’s not even funny. There’s almost a randomness to their selection sometimes which is why Oscar office pools are so popular. Plus sometimes when they finally do give an award to someone, it ends up being for a movie that wasn’t their best work or something…as if they are making up for failing to give them the Oscar for another one in the past.
I would love for BP and AJ to get more Oscar nominations but I wouldn’t think any less of their skills if they don’t

ITA- the Oscars really are random. I watched Little Miss Sunshine last night and couldn’t believe Alan Arkin won an Oscar for that performance. He was barely in the movie and playing a loud druggie didn’t look to difficult or as much of a stretch for him. Very bewildered after watching it again. I also feel that the Academy completely snubbed Brad. Every critic thought he should at the very least be nominated, and no, just a snub. Whatever Academy people!:-P

Please. David Fincher could care less about Aniston, he never liked her. He and Brad are still friends. The reason they don’t hang out (not that they ever did hang out all that much) is Brad’s hardly in California anymore, and he spends most of his time with his kids.

David Fincher used to hany out with Brad because Brad did NOT want to go home to that leathery face.
Now, Brad is a happy man, a father with 3 kids. He loves rushing home to see his kids’ faces all light up when he walks in the house.

I really don’t expect that much from the Academy, just look how long it took Martin Scorsese to win an oscar, and Stanley kubrick never won one.

Guli and AG, yep hanging around and checking out the new thread. Glad to hear of the good review of Brad’s western. The man is not aging just like fine wine but apparently so is his acting ability. But Brad already had me with his first movie - Cool World. I was already smitten then. :) Anywhooo, married life has been good. We have our moments because we are both stubborn, but overall, it’s good.

Fanistons creating stories again just like they did with Keener. Fincher was pictured sitting at the same table as Aniston at an event last year. But just because Fincher was being polite does not mean he has ended his friendshiip with Brad. Just look at Cathleen Keener. She was nice to Aniston but the pics we saw of Keener with Brad at the GGTOU opening show that she still loves and cares for Brad and that they will always be friends. I would say the same goes for Fincher.
Maria— you are cute, I am so glad you ask, because there were all these acronyms such as ROTFLMAO or BBL etc., I had no clue what they meant so I asked .

Meli, susie, bluemoon–it’s a travesty how the Academy sometimes wait so long to recognize true talents in the industry. If they miss the boat enough times, they usually revert to the trusty Lifetime Achievement award or some other “hurry before he/she croaks” award. With all of Brad’s movies, the Academy will probably give Brad an Oscar for the kind of passing role he had in Thelma & Louise. :lol:

I do not know where you heard that story but I think it is a rumor to make XX look better. I think Brad used to hang out with people after film was completed for the day but Brad does not do it anymore once he became a family man. It is nothing to do with Brad getting along with his friends or other members on set. I think it is more to do with his priority. In old days, there were lot of stories of Brad mingling with people in set, and it seemed he did not want to go home. But now people are especially pointing that he does not do it anymore. Now once filming is over, he ran right to home to be with family. Even in O13 filming, you heard that Brad just went home and did not mingle or took after-hour cocktail with other actors. But Brad does not ignore his social side also. We heard that he celebrated his birthday with all the male members of O13 set. So it seems from time to time he took time to spend with his friends but not often as he used to.
