Brad Pitt is “Just Awesome”
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is “a lyrical, brooding, atmospheric anti-Western that gave me the goose bumps numerous times throughout the 2 hour and 20 minute run time.”
And Brad Pitt’s performance? AWESOME!
“Brad Pitt plays Jesse James with cocky swagger and is just awesome. He owns the role, it’s like it was tailor made for him. Just watch the way the guy smokes his cigars and moves his head and eyes….methodical and unnerving.”
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is supposedly going to hit theaters on Friday, Sept. 14.

Subject: Congratulations: February Successes in Darfur Activism!
Anti-Genocide Activists
Thanks in part to your efforts, February saw a range of successes in the fight to stop the genocide in Darfur. Congress earmarked $50 million for African Union peacekeepers, the International Criminal Court named two Sudanese officials accused of war crimes, the targeted divestment movement is growing rapidly across the country and a new “anti-genocide hotline,” 1-800-GENOCIDE, was launched.
$50 Million for Peacekeepers in Darfur
In mid-February Congress passed House Joint Resolution 20, earmarking a crucial $50 million for the African Union peacekeeping force in Darfur. A day later, President Bush signed the legislation.
This action came about as a result of sustained pressure by activists like you and reflects the ongoing strength of the Darfur movement around the country. However, violence continues to rage throughout both Darfur and surrounding regions, and as we move towards an expanded peacekeeping force additional funding is imperative.
Congress will soon be discussing the 2007 Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Bill that will distribute additional funds for peacekeeping. This bill is crucial to the success of the African Union’s peacekeeping efforts. Stay tuned over the next several months for more information. Your voice continues to be needed to help protect civilians in Darfur.
ICC Announces Accusations Against Two War Criminals
On Feb. 27, the International Criminal Court named the first two Sudanese officials accused of war crimes in Darfur (Janjaweed militia leader Ali Kushayb and Sudanese Humanitarian Affairs Minister Ahmed Haroun). These accusations represent a crucial first step in the pursuit of justice for the victims of the genocide. However, we must ensure that all the perpetrators of genocide are held to account. Even more importantly, the international community must take action to ensure that the indicted officials are brought to trial.
Sudan Divestment Movement Expands
The targeted divestment movement continues to gain momentum across the United States. Thanks to the extensive efforts of grassroots activists, Americans are fighting to ensure that their state’s dollars are not invested in foreign companies that fund the genocide.
In the past two months, legislation has been introduced in the state legislatures of Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Visit the Sudan Divestment Task Force to check the status of divestment in your home state. Send an e-mail to divestment@genocideintervention.net to join the movement and make sure that your tax dollars are not used to fund genocide.
Anti-Genocide Hotline Debuts!
Also this month, the Genocide Intervention Network launched a toll-free anti-genocide hotline. This is a permanent tool that will connect you with your governor, representative, senators or the White House. You will have the option to choose which elected official you would like to address and then you will receive a summary of the most up-to-date issues before being connected to their office. Call 1-800-GENOCIDE now!
Visit the website for details on the latest talking points and to sign up to receive important updates.
Thank you for all your efforts, and we look forward to continue working with you over the next few crucial months!
Warm Regards,
Colin, Ivan and the rest of the GI-Net team

I just found in Bradforums this beautiful photo from Angie’s trip to Chad.I wish it was bigger. That woman is an angel.

I have a feeling that CC is kind of neutral in this so called triangle - she is friend of __ (they did the sit-com together for 10 years) but not so against of Brad and his family. We can see this from her recent action in GG and also based on what she said in the famous VF interview.
To tell you the truth, when I watched the “Frends” as early as in 2000, I did not like __ but I liked CC (I thought CC’ acting was not so good but she gave good vibes).
I think CC is kind of nice woman.

Wow, she looks soo beautiful. and for some reason, my eyes is tearing. oh angie…you’re such a sweetheart. Please keep doing the things you’re doing.
Meli, susie, bluemoon–it’s a travesty how the Academy sometimes wait so long to recognize true talents in the industry. If they miss the boat enough times, they usually revert to the trusty Lifetime Achievement award or some other “hurry before he/she croaks” award. With all of Brad’s movies, the Academy will probably give Brad an Oscar for the kind of passing role he had in Thelma & Louise
++++++++++++++++
I agree, and they give consolation nominations or oscars a lot! when they fucked Paul Giamatti for Sideways, the next year they nominated him for Cinderella Man. Anette Bening still hasn’t won an Oscar like Kate Winslet, which is insane. Hitchcock never won, because for a like him an honorary one doesn’t count.

I also feel that the Academy completely snubbed Brad. Every critic thought he should at the very least be nominated, and no, just a snub. Whatever Academy people!:-P
———————————————————–
One of the most credible critics in Greece commented about Brad being out of the Oscar’s nominations:”Why is the best Brad Pitt of all time out?”The question remains.

Of course you are talking about Dimitris Danicas right Meli? I read his commentary too. Man that guy can rip anyone apart in a heart bit but I have never read not even one bad word about Brad from him. I mean not even about the Ocean 11 and 12 or Troy. Not a slight bad word. He has always flattering things to say about him. Personaly I think he has a little crush on Brad…
and I just couldn’t care less.

Yes,I’m talking about Danikas. He just said it all in that phrase.
Meli, bluemoon and Lola #1-
Yep, the Academy certainly has “issues” and that is my nice way of putting it. I usually watch it for the clothes and emcee. Loved Ellen but I thought the women looked horrible this year, except Helen Mirren, she looked nice. If I was an actor I would rather get a GG, at least the ceremony looks fun. JMHO
Thank you Guli, I always giggle when I read “janjaweed”, I picture all these outlaws with a big joint in their mouths listening to Bob Marley.
bluemoon–I didn’t know Hitchcock never won an award. You must be an Oscar History almanac or something ;) And yet every year I hope that, for a change, the Academy will finally get all the major categories right.
Perhaps, David Fincher will help direct or fund CC’s show! I hear “Dirt” is doing bad, is that true???? I won’t tune in to see X and CC kiss!!!!
Hi all! This movie will be excellent! I haven’t caught up yet, I posted this once before. This is the director from smoking aces. He saw the movie months ago http:www.smokinjoecarnahan.com
If anyone out there is familiar with transvers miolits please let me know. It would be appreciated

Hated most of the dresses this year–I thought everyone saved the best for last? In my opinion, most of the attendees looked better during the Golden Globes.
I thought I was the only person who found the word “janjaweed” funny in the same manner. I’m glad I’m not alone in my silliness :)
Welcome Sheri! What movie are you referring to if you don’t mind me asking?
Hi JoliePitt good to “see you” Jesse James of course! How are you?
i am good and just been busy with work of course! just lurk on and off. decided to take some time off and chat!:) how is your mom doing? have you heard from COAL? i haven’t seen her online the last hour!
