Pink-streaked Rachel McAdams is the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of Elle Magazine and gives quite the fascinating interview. For starters, apparently Rachel is 28 according to her mom and not 30 as IMDB reports. And she’s turned down some huge movie roles.
I extrapolated the most interesting paragraph for thine reading pleasure:
“I’m not going to make movies just to make movies,” McAdams says. (She’s turned down loads of roles, including the romantic leads in Mission Impossible 2 and Casino Royale. Anne Hathaway’s part in the Devil Wears Prada, and Agent 99 in the upcoming Get Smart, starring Steve Carell.) “I have to be passionate about it. And at the same time, I can get very distracted when I’m working, and I like to get back to my life a lot — a love-wise life with Ryan Gosling that she fictionalized in The Notebook in 2004 and factualized with him quite a while after the movie. Two years-ish to be exact. She’s a serious sort, not one to have her head spun on a set all flibbertigibbety, hand-feeling the tabloids. They’re a well-matched pair of hearts. She admires him. Her cheeks bloom when she speaks of his Oscar nomination for Half Nelson. “He did such an amazing job,” McAdams says, her voice positively aching. “He worked so hard, too! He never does the same thing twice. He’s very brave. I don’t think he sees the point [in taking a role] unless he can find out what he’s made of every time. He just doesn’t back off. He goes into everything from that place.”
Yes, Rachel is wearing the same Armani Prive dress as Beyonce from The Oscars. AND Rachel is wearing the same Chanel dress as Kirsten Dunst from the Oscars. Rachel looks so much better in it than Kirsten!

I think the blank word was ’sort’. There’s a word that I couldn’t make out a few paragraphs before where it describes her on-screen presence as incandescent, effervescent and super_____________. Did you get that word?

neither the prive or chanel dress are attractive. no one is making them work. i love the yellow givenchy, and the lacroix. they’re crazy, but fun.

nice photo shoot!! The floral taffeta dress works with that pink streak- but, otherwise, why did they keep the streak?!!? She looks better than Kristen in that Chanel dress probably because of the belt & color. Not to mention Kristen looked like she had just put the dress on and some red lipstick and went out the door!!! It definitely is an ugly dress. However, it must be said that Rachel is a beautiful talented actress & it’s nice to see her.
I like what she is saying..! She sounds grounded and so as her boyfriend. Cute!

What’s with the dress with blue corset? I mean, not with the dress but with the head of the actress - it seems to be photoshopped from cover photo. Absolutely the same.
She is such a wonderful actress! I love her, however, does anyone else think that the alignment of her head and neck look weird in the picture used for the announcement?
She’s so intelligent and articulate in interviews without doing the i’m-intellectual thing…she always seems so perceptive about her roles and costars and about herself.
however, really looking forward to some new roles of Rachel’s that show her acting range.
the roles she purportedly turned down seem to be all decorative/fluff roles.
she’s SO overrated, really don’t understand the attraction at all.
She’s way more talented and classy than Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and other loved/hated celebrities around here.

I like that they both are picky about the roles they choose and don’t just go for the big Hollywood productions - very smart and talented!
Yeah this couple is way more classy and intelligent than all the couples mentioned here.
They actually go to political events and protest rallies in LA and are down to earth, not expecting to be cannonized as future world leaders.
I love Rachel McAdams, Reese Witherspoon and Sophia Bush! They are amazing actresses they have talent and class. This interview in Elle magazine proves that she is level headed and puts thought in everything she does. She is a good romodel !!

In the main picture, it looks like her head was cut-and-pasted on her body. :S
The main cover photo and the photo of her in the dress with the blue-ish beaded top and white bottom are the EXACT same face. Look closely. Either those photos are incredibly photo shopped or one of them isnt real.
hmm, good call devin. you can see in the neck where it was photoshopped. i’m sure the body is rachel, they just chose the same head shot for whatever reason. hwo knows.

Who hasn’t turned down the role in Casino Royale? And what did Eva Green did with it? She won a BAFTA in part because of it. What about The Devil Wears Prada? Nominated for an Oscar. Turning down MI 2 is a good move but to turn down a movie with the now very hot Steve Carell makes me question her ability to actually choose a script. I wonder what is she doing now? Forever languishing in her role as the next big thing when if she had taken the roles she reportedly turned down, she could have been the big thing. She seems more defined by the roles she turned down than she actually did. And those roles mentioned above are not fluffy roles but could make an impact.
By the way the gowns are not very good looking. They looked like a mess.
It looks like Anne Hathaway is picking up Rachel’s left-overs. She accepted two parts (Get Smart and Devil Wears Prada) which Rachel turned down.
She is sooo overrated. She did no justice for the Armani dress and the Chanel number, in fact nobody did any justice with any of those dresses. Why isn’t she making movies anymore, is she in therapy or something?
