Yes, that Salma Hayek is pregnant AND engaged!
As first reported by The New York Daily News’s Gatecrash columnist Ben Widdicome via PerezHilton.com, Latina bombshell Salma, 40, and French billionaire buisnessman Francois-Henri Pinault, 44, are expecting their very first child together later this year.
Says Salma’s publicist, Ina Treciokas of ID Public Relations: “Businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, and his fiancee, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child.”
Since the day he was born, Francois-Henri had money growing out of his ears. His father, tycoon Francois Pinault (second picture below), is the founder of retail company PPR and ranked no. 74 among the world’s richest people in 2006.
Currently, Francois-Henri is the CEO of PPR, which basically runs the luxury-goods market. PPR owns big brands Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga.
Salma was last spotted leaving King Road Cafe in Hollywood on Sunday, March 4 (above). Francois-Henri was last seen in Paris, announcing the 2006 financial results for PPR yesterday, March 8 (third and fourth pictures below).
Congratulations to newly engaged couple! Let the baby bump watch officially begin!

UPDATE :: Francois-Henri, who was once romantically linked to Nicole Kidman, was previously married and already has two children.

Salma is a very wealthy woman, both by birth and by her work. I find it very prejudiced of people to imply she chose her boyfriend because he is richer than her.

You have not been asked to be with this guy. Salma loves him and is pregnant with their baby. This is the most important thing.

i love salma and think she is a beautiful, hard working, smart woman but i am not stereotyping her because she is mexican. her heavy accent shows her class and she does not have an uppercrust or neutral spanish accent when she speaks. i know a few boarding-schooled latin americans and they do not have heavy accents when they speak other languages. they’ve been taught by the best teachers and know that accents can show where you are from financially & socially. besides, she wouldn’t have taken on soap roles or play a table dancing demon if she was born rich. she has worked for her money. many wealthy folks don’t…
so please don’t put words into my mouth. no one is stereotyping here.
What amuses me most is that Salma could be in a relationship and get pregnant and engaged and no one seemed to know about it! The crazy gossip bloggers and tabloids were so preoccupied with the “gay angle” they missed the bigger story. They do that a lot.

People have got to be more discerning. It’s obvious that photo is not a currrent one of Salma. She was at the Golden Globes as flat as a panckae. That’s probably a still from a scene in a movie or an altrered pic. That is certainly not her currently pregnant.!!
Virgo you are right. Tom Cruise is 45, Pitt 44…this guy looks at least 15 years older than them. Baby probably needs to stick with the Hayek genes.

Congratulations to Salma, I knew she was expecting. I saw pix of her coming out of a fertility clinic last year so I wonder if she was trying to get pregnant for a while. I think it’s a good choice for a husband: rich, older, not in showbusiness, not a rock star or a country music star with a drug problem, obviously cares for her if they’re engaged. It DOES seem strange that she was in a serious relationship that nobody knew about but whatever… if he wants to take care of her, I don’t inquire about their motives. I love Ed Norton but he’s was crazy to let her go.

Jared: I was just going through the Forbes Website and They have this man listed there and they have him listed as 70 YEARS OLD. I think Forbes is a pretty credible site and he looks about 70.
