Yes, that Salma Hayek is pregnant AND engaged!
As first reported by The New York Daily News’s Gatecrash columnist Ben Widdicome via PerezHilton.com, Latina bombshell Salma, 40, and French billionaire buisnessman Francois-Henri Pinault, 44, are expecting their very first child together later this year.
Says Salma’s publicist, Ina Treciokas of ID Public Relations: “Businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, and his fiancee, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child.”
Since the day he was born, Francois-Henri had money growing out of his ears. His father, tycoon Francois Pinault (second picture below), is the founder of retail company PPR and ranked no. 74 among the world’s richest people in 2006.
Currently, Francois-Henri is the CEO of PPR, which basically runs the luxury-goods market. PPR owns big brands Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga.
Salma was last spotted leaving King Road Cafe in Hollywood on Sunday, March 4 (above). Francois-Henri was last seen in Paris, announcing the 2006 financial results for PPR yesterday, March 8 (third and fourth pictures below).

Dee, you sound so …. politically incorrect with your view on Salma’s background.
There are people who just have a hard time losing accents when speaking other languages, and there are others who are very natural at faking them (as some actors have to do).
I’m no expert, but in Mexico, where Salma was born, and particularly Veracruz, the state, that Salma´s father is from Lebanese ascendant, and her mother, Spanish (there was a large group of Spaniards living in Mexico due to the Guerra Civil many years ago, and some stayed).
Since she was young she has pursued a career as an actress, her family not even knowing she was studying acting at first, but then she became thedarling of soap operas down here…just that it wasn’t what Salma wanted.
I like the fact that she is ambitious and willing to give up the easy success of Mexican drama tv to go and start from ZERO in some silly Hollywood movies, acting in some stereotypicall characters to get a name for herself in that industry. As many women, she has posponed family until now, but you can see that now she is rich by her own work and merit, and has gone from a bimbo to a succesful oscar-winning producer, besides being the most successful alive Mexican woman in movie industry out of Mexico, who knows, maybe as succesful as Dolores del Rio and Lupe Velez.
Wow, sorry, is just that I felt as if Dee was saying that we had not the right to marry or work out of our “ghetto” or something.

Besides, she did grow up wealthy (her father was an oil executive) and she’s rolling in bank now as a producer. She’s always said she’d only marry a man who had bigger cojones than she does, so she’s always come across as someone who places strong character as a priority in a mate.
dee, you are very prejudiced if you feel that the thickness of a person’s accent makes them of a lower class. Do some research besides the KKK and you will easily find anywhere Salma’s family’s pedigree. Oh and to the other nimrod who thinks that the HSN is only for the lower class, think again.

WOW!!!! I didn’t even know that she was seeing anyone. I am happy for her. But I do have to say that this guy sort of resembles Edward Norton. They dated for about 5yrs. I think she really loved Edward but he broke her heart. I am happy for her that she had found happiness and will be opening a new door in her life.

Just because she has a thicker accent than those latin americans you know that attended boarding school, does not mean that she is working class and did not attend any boarding schools. Facts are facts and it is well documented that she grew up in a wealthy home, went to boarding schools, and was kidnapped once for ransom. Just because she became an actress on a soap opera does not meant she can’t be from a wealthy family. This isn’t the 1800’s anymore. So say what you want but you can’t claim that her accent proves she was not born into wealth. Do your research before you write something like that…

Jq, Nicole will be 40 in June. She is only some month younger than Salma. As for being prettier, I do not find her so: she has frozen her face and looks like a freak. As I said it doesn’t matter if she has a heavy accent, I personally find it engaging! You could only hope. As far a putting words in your mouth, I think you did that just fine.
Remember Dee, it doesn’t matter where you start, it’s how you end up and I think Salma will end up just fine with or without Mr. Pinault. Women should not define themselves by men, or what men may have. Ms. Hayek accomplished a lot on her own and still continues to do so. We have no idea if they will marry or not or even if they do if the marriage will succeed. But I doubt if the unfortunate should prevail, Ms. Hayek will do fine on her own.
