Yes, that Salma Hayek is pregnant AND engaged!
As first reported by The New York Daily News’s Gatecrash columnist Ben Widdicome via PerezHilton.com, Latina bombshell Salma, 40, and French billionaire buisnessman Francois-Henri Pinault, 44, are expecting their very first child together later this year.
Says Salma’s publicist, Ina Treciokas of ID Public Relations: “Businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, and his fiancee, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child.”
Since the day he was born, Francois-Henri had money growing out of his ears. His father, tycoon Francois Pinault (second picture below), is the founder of retail company PPR and ranked no. 74 among the world’s richest people in 2006.
Currently, Francois-Henri is the CEO of PPR, which basically runs the luxury-goods market. PPR owns big brands Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga.
Salma was last spotted leaving King Road Cafe in Hollywood on Sunday, March 4 (above). Francois-Henri was last seen in Paris, announcing the 2006 financial results for PPR yesterday, March 8 (third and fourth pictures below).
Congratulations to newly engaged couple! Let the baby bump watch officially begin!

UPDATE :: Francois-Henri, who was once romantically linked to Nicole Kidman, was previously married and already has two children.

Come on Mexicali, isn’t this the way it “usually” is with minorities? When we are successful and marrying within our own race, we expect the best and the best-looking, but when we (asians, blacks, hispanics, indians etc) marry a caucasian, we lower our standards considerably. Here in the South USA, Asian women are increasingly marrying inbred-looking, country rednecks who have zero physical appeal.
Jlo pined after Ben Affleck more than any guy she dated, and he loved booze and strippers. Yet, she was ready to marry that “then” dirtbag up to the end. Her crazy mama went on and on, bragging about how much she loved Ben. I wonder why no such quotes about Marc, huh? She’s been with him the longest. Jlo only married Marc after getting knocked around emotionally a few times and developing a reputation as a woman who can’t stay married. She came back to her senses, we hope…
Hayek is beautiful enough to get it all: rich, handsome & nice.
Dee…sgusted… I do not think that you should be so judgementantal for someone’s else’s choice. We cannot know or care what this Monsieur Pinault or whatever is like, acts like or impressed Salma with. If you re more than superficial or shallow you should know that looks aren’t everything, and besides the money he could be smart, gentle and sophisticated, and if she prefers that to a model-looking someone, that’s great!
Who cares what her fiance or the baby looks like? that is their life. As a Mexican I’m happy that she is succesful in her career and now she is creating a family, I don’t understand the obsession with race that some have, to stay or not within our Latin origins or to find someone beautiful (narrow-minded or shallow-minded). There are peopel who just don’t care about that, ask Gael Garcia and Natalie Portman a few years ago… or Sophia Loren and her deceased husband… they were very happy, and there are many more examples, everywhere.
I don’t thinks that he is very handsome, but maybe for all your worries, maybe he is just not that photogenic!! :P
Marina I know where you are coming from and respect your viewpoints. I’m honestly venting here. It was rather shocking to me to learn that Salma is pregnant and getting married at all. Then, to see the papa-to-be was… well… disappointing to say the least.

I do believe congratualtions is in order here to the happy couple. I beleive this is the highest accomplishment for them both I don’t see why age should be a factor between mates, or your nationality. I feel they are both exceptional people and have much to offer to their child, and love and happiness is all that matters. I am speaking from personal experience. I am also from mexico. Raised and educated here in the states and my mate is a bit older than me and born in the U.S. I completely understand their unique and special relationship. I have learned that you just have to shrug at all the comments and live your life as you see fit and do what makes you happy. Who cares what the public says. What matters is what your mind and heart say and not what the tabloids say. Salma and Francois have been blessed with God’s greatest gift (love, a mate to share everything including your life with, and a child. cherish it and don’t question god’s gifts. Not everyone is this fortunate). I’m sorry to see that your in the public’s eye and are always dealing with public scrutiny. But don’t live your life by listening to the public’s opinion onsuch matters. Your life is your life and it’s private. The only person who’s words and opinions should matter are your futrure husbands’. I wish you much luck, happiness, and a healthy beautifull baby. Congratulations again to the happy couple.
