Angelina Jolie ‘Transformed’ in Chad

Angelina Jolie ‘Transformed’ in Chad

“If I can draw you in a little because I’m familiar, then that’s great. As long as [you] end up looking at them, that’s the point.” — Angelina Jolie on the power of celebrity.

Here are some of the highlight’s from Angelina Jolie’s recent trip to a camp housing Darfur refugees in Chad via Newsweek:

…But you do have photographers following you now. It took me a while to agree to do it. I guess I saw that so many times the picture comes before the knowledge and the substance and I certainly didn’t want to do that to myself or the organization. And also, I really just was shy. I was shy about sitting on the floor and talking to a woman and having a camera take a picture because I thought it was making less of my conversation with her. But… I was changed by the faces of the people I saw. “It is something that I am incapable of describing…those faces and that place and those people. And so I think it’s just—let the people speak for themselves through the camera. And if I can draw you in a little because I’m familiar, then that’s great. Because I know that at the end you’re not looking at me, you’re looking at them.
Do you still go with so few people? I can’t believe you take no one with you… I take no one. I [go] by myself on a commercial plane and into the field with my backpack.
You still do that? Yes, I just did that on my last trip. I met the photographer there.
In the camp? No, in the airport. We didn’t even realize we were on the same flight. We landed at like midnight and got up at like 5 in the morning to catch the WFP [World Food Program] plane [to a town near the camp].
People will look at these pictures of you in Chad and ask, “What can I do?” What should they do? There are great NGOs like SOS [Austria's SOS Kinderdorp] and there are great NGOs inside and under the U.N. that you could send aid to. It’s important for the American people to know that a lot of people believe—I certainly believe—that it has been their outcry and their interest that has motivated our government. I think that the American people have paid attention to Darfur—a really amazing groundswell of people that really care, and are moved and emotional about the things they’ve seen when it is brought to their attention.

Those pictures and videos make me very sad… It is amazing that things like that are happening in this world. Good for her and people like her who use the star power to raise awareness. It has to be hard to go and see so much poverty and necessity in this world.

Yes she is a great human being. God bless her and people like her.

to charlie and BCBG:

Sorry for posting, I thought it may be of interest to her fans in here.

Okay, I take back all the negative comments I’ve written about Jolie.
Looking at these pics, Jolie has a good heart.
She wants to help the less fortunate, and if we all can do the same, the world would be a better place. I know I haven’t done enough.

I wish her and her family well.

no problem lavagirl, thanks for posting the link, it’s a scary thought, this article remind me of similar plot to abduct actor Russel Crowe.

Geez.

She’s a good person after all.

why did angie go to darfur? so you’ll think of and act for the people of darfur. so she’s your role model, that’s great! but you just can’t praise her and stop at that. please, what have you already done? what do you intend to do? i think that’s what she would want to know.

Laura, that is very nice of you ! Thank you!

I think charity helps, guli.

But the one thing that Angi and people like her do is they help to make the politicians and public more aware of the genocide that is occuring to provoke them into action.

Charity is helpful but sometimes their is a need for U.N. peacekeepers or other type of military intervention to prevent further genocide from occuring. THis is where they are the most effective.

You can make a donation or sponsor a child at the organisation Angelina mentions in the article:

I went to Chad so I know the feeling. It’s really really poor. If you don’t have an escort the police arrest you so that they can get their salary. We really need to help these people and I’m glad someone like her makes the first step.

Dear Angelina it’s great to see you drawing attention to Darfur.
But you should take care of your health first and foremost.
There are so many articles that you’re losing your weight so much.
I study medicine and sometimes weight loss imples cancer so honey take care of yourself. Do some regular checkups.

Wow. This is all I can say.

This woman is incredible.

Instead of saying much, I am posting my check for a donation to Darfur tomorrow. This is how I can prove that I am TRULY a fan of this extraordinary woman.

These pictures are hauting.

Hey guys, we get 1,000 posts alone just talking about how wonderful Angelina is.

Imagine if half of those 1,000 posts sent a dollar to Darfur. That’s already $500.

Imagine what we can do.

Let’s show the world what BAMZS fans are really about.

Go ahead and give money to Darfur.

Let’s show how incredible Angie’s fans are.

her face tell’s the horror of what she is really seeing I just can’t help but feel how shallow the other pictures are of John and Jessica going shopping and on and on this is real this is a gut wrenching situation that I was totally removed from till i saw these picture’s and damn it if she doesn’t look even more beautiful.
She is a real honest careing human being and the picture’s say alot she is for real what can I do to help these people I can only make a small donation since i raise my grandchildren.

There are many many people admiring and supporting Angelina, but I do agree with 63. you can only help when you take care for yourself first. All the bad-mouth gossips are silly and have no influence on those people who share the values of humanity, beauty and righteousness.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You’re a friggin’ idiot.

The point is no matter how bad Angelina Jolie may have it as you assume, she is worlds away from the horror of the people of Darfur. So that is why Darfur needs immediate attention.

Charity is not what you do when things are ok at home and then you decide to help.

Charity is helping despite what your shortcomings are.

Charity is giving even when you don’t have.

Charity is giving even when you yourself are a work in progress.

Charity is caring for a complete stranger even before your own.

Mother Theresa was a stick when she was working in India. So was Audrey Hepburn when she was a rep for UNICEF. They did not stop their work to got fill themselves with weight gain milk shakes before deciding to help.

Help if you have one leg to walk on.

Help if you have one eye to see.

Help however you are and however you can. Misery and famine and hunger cannot wait for us to work on ourselves first before we help.

Darfur is in a state of emergency.

Angelina Jolie is sophisticated and compassionate enough to understand this.

What don’t you take a moment, just one moment, to ponder on the innocent children in those pictures instead of your assenine passive agressive attacks on the woman responsible for you even knowing that some 7 year old kid accorss the continent is scarred for life because his entire village has been nearly destroyed.

You insensitive specimen of vermon you.

greetings from Holland,

good morning, evening to all of you, here in Holland a beautiful sunny day, and Jared thank you for a nice thread, guys, i am just overreated what i’ve seen on those pics, what a amazing woman Angie is. if i looked those pics again i am ashamed to myself, honestly, if i had a chance to hold that boy(who is as same age of my son) and i would be scared or yikes ( i don’t know what a correct words) feeling, BUT Angelina does not those feelings, and she beautiful and than me or any other woman, I think that foto it’s beautiful that i ‘ve ever seen of Angelina.

What an amazing woman she started her work six years ago before Brad pitt. Now together they will help a lot of people and its good to see that the criticism is not slowing her down. These critics are not interested in helping at all.She knows what she wants and you can tell that she is moving forward with her work and her family

What I see is a woman who is very strong, very determined, committed mother and partner totally different from the weak person the tabs want to make her.You go Angelina we know you will continue to inspire a lot of people.God bless you.

It looks they are going to spend a lot of time in NO

She is very authentic, her sensitive is true. I admire her because she is a very honest woman: she does everything with heart..Angie and Brad are a fantastic couple, i’m happy that they find each other.

HOTTEST COUPLE EVER @ 03/11/2007 at 5:54 am

She never ceases to amaze me. She is truly a remarkable young woman. Brad must be very proud.

I admire this woman. This Newsweek interview is so powerful and it puts everything in perspective. The whole Hollywood circus is so laughable, especially when compared to places like Darfur where people’s suffering is almost unbelievable. And those shallow people dare to critisize good people like Angie. Shame on them. The pics are also beautiful, and I must say this is how a real article is written, a real interview is conducted. Brad must be very proud of his woman. God bless her!

_________

Evelyn, just so you know, every “small” donation helps. These people are living for less then US$1 a day. If you donate just one dollar, you are helping some one live another day. And if you look at the faces on the videos, the young still have hope. They want to live that one more day. So, though most of us here are not going to do an Angelina Jolie or Mia Farrow or be an aid worker on the field, our financial donations will really help.

Also writing to our nations leaders to let them know that the situation is just so unacceptable. I want to say at this point that the world is waiting for someone to act - presumably the US. This is wrong. For better or worse, there should be other nations who are willing to help and send troops. I am disappointed with other great nation states for not doing something, including Australia, my own country. We are all sitting around waiting for the US to do something about Sudan. Why is that?? Where is the EU leadership on this point?? Chad and Sudan are much closer to Europe then to America. Does anyone have an explanation? I’m not criticizing yet, but I am curious.

AJ The Best @ 03/11/2007 at 6:28 am

Love her, admire her, she is just the BEST !!!

Why must it upset any angie fan when someone also a fan shows concern about her safety or health????

Sure we love this woman. She is inspiring, selfless and fearless. Remember , she is also a loving partner , mother of very young children.

Mother Theresa , a nun, disabowed all earthly possessions or familial connection in pursuing her noble cause or A. Hepburn did her humanitarian efforts during her later life when her children are older.

Angie ’s situation is different to these 2 women. The places she now visits are more dangerous than ever. I am sure Brad , James ( brother) are worried to death and so are we, fans of her.

IMHO ,comments concerning about health should not be the object of mockery or disdain . Some of us just love her like our own family, our sister, daughter or best friend….. cheers

I LOVE HER!
Thanks JJ!

London, Mar 11 (ANI): Angelina Jolie narrowly escaped being kidnapped, while on a visit to an unnamed destination in the capacity of a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR.

The Oscar winning star, who became a Goodwill Ambassador back in 2001, has travelled to some of the remotest and also war-torn areas of the world raising awareness of the plight of refugees.

However, one visit that really had a reeling was when she learnt that gangsters were plotting to kidnap her and hold her for a very large ransom.

“It was in a small village. I won’t say where, or with whom, but some gangsters planned to kidnap me and extort a massive ransom. I was warned at the last minute, and managed to escape, luckily,” the News of the World quoted her, as saying.

However, Jolie insists that she’s not about let one kidnap plot scare her away from the work she does for she wants to do her bit in lending a helping hand to underprivileged people.

“I don’t want to act like the Mother Teresa of Hollywood. But I want to help where there is poverty and destruction,” she said.

As for how beau Brad Pitt copes with their trips, well Jolie revealed that the couple solved their problems by working as a team.

“I love Brad very much and on our trips we pull together as a team,” she said.

But Jolie does admit that things get tough when it affects the couple’s three kids – Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh – all of whom have been accompanying their parents on their trips to far-off places.

“Things only get difficult when it affects our children,” she said.

“I have become more mature. I have learned to accept responsibility for myself, my children and my partner. Becoming a mum was the biggest change in my life, and it made me feel like a complete woman. At times in my life I was lost, without a purpose, now I’m more grounded,” Jolie revealed.

i love this part..

Thank you Lady G. I was about to say that. This article came from a British Tabloid. Their making up stories all the time. Much worse than the American Tabs. There was also a story that they had kidnap threats from Al Qaeda while thy where in India and it came from a British rag also and of course it wasn’t true. And all this supposed Madonna criticism from Angie came from British rags. I won’t believe anything for a British publication.

News of the World is the worse tabloid in the world, they made things up all the time, so don’t bring that **** here.

Thank you Jared for this wonderful Thread. You are the number one source for everything regarding BAMZS+1 with no doubt!!

The pictures are heartbreaking!

Angie has been through this situation for years but every single trip is a brand new experience for her. A new life lesson. She is completely devoted and no matter what is said nothing will stop her. She has the support of her loved ones and of course her fans.

MORE POWER TO HER!!!

Me and my family have managed to give a certain amount of money every month to UNISEF. We are doing this for about five years. The money are not much but I’m searching ways to do more. When I will decide to have a family I have already made a promise to my self that I will adopt a child with any cost it may take. Angie was and is a great inspiration about that decision. And I will try to make it a reality.

Queen Bee @ 03/11/2007 at 8:02 am

What crack are you all smoking? Nobel Prize please. Reincarnation of Mother Theresa!? What blasphemy!

It was bad enough they compared her to Josephine Baker who actually risked her life by spying for the French against the Nazis! But now you all are comparing her to Mother Theresa, who established missionaries in over 100 countries.

I’m not knocking Angelina’s works, but she’s not the only celebrity that travels to these areas or donates their time or works for the UN. Nicole Kidman is right there with her! And she’s definitely not the first to draw attention to Dafur, which has been in the public consciousness for some time.

And as far as a Nobel Prize puhlease….she’s way behind Sir Bob Geldolf, Bono, Bill & Melinda Gates, Oprah and on and on….

Ace Tomato @ 03/11/2007 at 8:05 am

I wonder at people who will jump at the chance to criticize this trip to Chad. AJ and BP could hole up in a mansion and have posh parties the rest of their lives. I mean really - they could just be fabulous, gorgeous and do nothing else in the world and they wouldn’t owe anything to anyone for it.

Beautiful pictures. Beautiful lady.

You know why some fans are upset everytime the weight issue is brought up by other fans even though the concerned fan does not have any malicious intent because a lot of the haters are bringing her being skinny as their mode of attack, some of them pretend to be concerned about Angelina’s slimness then in the end of their posting they will attack her or give a subtle criticism then if you question their real motive their true colors will show.

Not only the thinness issue but also questioning about Maddox schooling, the blob talk & other nonsence about the kids.

So it is hard for long-time posters here to tell if the poster meant no harm & just voicing their concern OR being sarcastic hater, especially true for new posters or people posting with new names.

Okay, I take back all the negative comments I’ve written about Jolie.
Looking at these pics, Jolie has a good heart.
She wants to help the less fortunate, and if we all can do the same, the world would be a better place. I know I haven’t done enough.

I wish her and her family well.

They are just in denil that angie is a good person and she does deserve brad

“I do care about the opinion of the aid worker, I do care about the opinion of the refugee. I care less about the opinion of the person who’s never been in the field but has an opinion about celebrity. ”

That woman is amazing. There is so much pain in this world, and she is there,in the field, talks to those people, touches them, feels their pain, cries with them, holds their hand. When you are so desperate, like those people are, even this small human contact is a big relief to your pain.Just to see that someone cares and SHE cares. What can people’s criticism do to her when she has seen what she has seen?
She is a great example and a great humanitarian and I admire her more and more everyday.Angelina,I’m proud to be your fan.

What is the problem with her fans wanting that for her? What’s it to you? It’s their opinion, just like you have yours. Nobody has to be on crack to want something for her or to compare her to somebody else. Fans can be proud of her and wish for whatever they want to wish for, it’s that simple.

This is the reason why all the criticisms against this woman just don’t hold water. People can pick on her weight or can rehash on her past but that’s nothing compared to the realities that she spotlights on when she visits places like Chad, Sierra Leone. This is one of the things that I find admirable about her. Her physical beauty fades with her beautiful soul and compassionate heart. She’s just a beautiful human being.

BTW, Hello to all JP fans and kaway to all my kababayans. Magandang umaga/gabi sa inyong lahat. May you all be safe and in good health.

“We are all sitting around waiting for the US to do something about Sudan. Why is that?? Where is the EU leadership on this point?? Chad and Sudan are much closer to Europe then to America.”

One, I think the economic superpowers are playing a waiting game until all the important players have established their claims. With France and China heavily involved in the oil exploration claims and we know who China is very friendly with, there’s too much at stake as far as the first world nations are concerned more than enforcing justice and pushing the Sudanese gov’t to go after Arab militias. Why are the US and EU wary to step in? Its a deafening silence. The Darfur situation has reached a point when military intervention might be the only solution left. I really hope the EU would take an active role and not wait for the US to initiate the first step.

Two, the AU and UN are still somehow divided to the issue. I think it pertains most to the AU because I don’t think there’s anyone in the African Union who has the political will to condemn Sudan and really forced the hand of the Khartoum leaders to go after the Arab militias.

Third, I hope those nations that has the military powers and logistics to spearhead intervention would step up and not wait for the US. The US leadership is too preoccupied with Iraq and I don’t think the anyone is willing to rock the boat with the upcoming elections. I think there are still some people in Capitol Hill who are wary with might be another Somalia situation.

Sudan is too divided as a nation. To attempt to unify the North and South is an act of futility w/ the leadership not only deaf but what’s worse blood thirsty reactions to the grievances of those marginalized. They say history has proven time and again, that only a bloody revolution can bring democracy to a nation. But the injustice in this crisis is that those that are being unfairly treated, are not even given a chance to fight for their rights. This war is definitely not fair to all. And the worst is that this is being played out right before our eyes…….

Great posts lylian & malaya. I love reading some very well thought posts & overtime I am learning something new from you guys. Be it for daily life, politics, travel, cuisines, cultures, law, & of course anything about the going-ons about the Jolie-Pitts. Thank U all

Thanks Just Jared for the new thread about AJ’s visit to Chad and the links to the moving videos. The entire interview was very informative, touching and gives insight into the struggles that the people of Darfur faces. It is good that AJ, field workers and many others bring their stories to the mainstream media. I also join others in wishing for a solution to the conflict in Darfur. AJ will always have critics because some people cannot get past tabloid lies, their own prejudices and inner conflicts. However, she continues to follow her heart, ignore the naysayers and continue to live her life the best she knows how. I pray and wish the people of the Sudan a return to their homeland and peace. I wish AJ and BP and their children the best. Thanks again Just Jared. Thanks to all the fans for the videos and links to other articles.

Oh Angelina, you really are inspiring me more now than ever. Your life have been so meaningful not only to you, your family & friends, colleagues but also to your fans & admirers. Keep up the good work, we your fans stand behind you on your endless works.

These pictures are heartbreaking. And just the fact that she’s making people more aware of the level of suffering and what they can do to help speaks for itself.

I agree with Konnitiwa. This is what she meant by the word “raw”. When she was younger, and had less understanding she did destructive things in an attempt to access that feeling. Now she’s older and wiser and she’s found a constructive way to access those honest emotions. There is nothing more raw than the picture of her holding that 3 yr. old boy.

She’s been doing this for a long time, but now that she’s Brad Pitt’s partner she’s under constant spotlight. In a weird way, that is his “gift” to her because she is able to redirect that spotlight very effectively on the atrocities taking place. As independent as she is, I’m glad she has him at her side to ease the load. And she has given him so very much in such a short time.

Both of them are beautiful - inside and out.

queenbee, chill a bit! did nicole went to dangerous places like angie does? and angie did tht for awhile, i just heard about nicole lately but not much, though it doesn’t matter really, most important thing is tht u are bringing attention and actually help make a difference.angie does her thing w/ so much passion? my advice for u don’t make a big deal about it, rather do something to help.i admire mother theresa , i havn’t seen much of nicole deeds , i mean passion but hopefully one day and tht she would also donate much money and passion to the poor.yes, lots of celebrity do did donate oprah, bill gates, ( very rich people) but where the money goes, do u think most of their money went to the needy? or who knows, coz why theres still lot of people who is starving, knowing the value of dollar( us) tht made me question.while i applaud oprah for donating 40 to 100 million or so, i don’t understand why built a luxury school tht only only small amount of people can benifit. do they really need a spa? or make up saloon? how about the majority / who are starving, dying?, why not build a hospital there too?, a clinic or heath centers or more school, wells. with tht amount of money alloted for a luxury school or built a training center for people to get a job. anyway, i still admire oprah just wish she put things into perspective.

She’s amazing and a great role model. Brad must be proud of his love.

been crying since last night.i will always love u anjie!and papa pitt too.and shi and mad and zee and the other one.

________________

Malaya, I’ve read what you’ve got to say and I agree that in the game for oil and resources, France and China are not keen to have intervention. You would think though that peace in the region would greatly benefit the countries in their search for oil. At the end of the day, look at Nigeria and Aceh, Indonesia. You can find oil but if extraction/transportation of oil is always subject to attacks, it cannot be good for business.

It is just so frustrating for me. I’m old enough to remember the murders in Cambodia by Pol Pot and his henchmen and how the world stood quietly by. To see this repeated …. All I can do is donate and write to the powers that be.

On a lighter note, looking at these photos and photos from Newsweek, I’ve come to the conclusion it really is difficult to take a bad photo of Angelina.

It’s sad how shallow some can be.

Angie is trying to bring attention to genicode that is taking place once again. I thought after Rwanda that they world said never again but that isn’t the message that is being shown by actions or anything else.

Instead of trying to tear down Angelina Jolie for at least getting in the trenches to put the spotlight where it truly needs to be. Do something to help but it’s easier to sit back and criticize someone looks, body size but what are you doing to help? Oh I know NOTHING.

Looks fades. What counts is what is truly in a person heart. And I hate to say it some just don’t have a heart there is a big old empty space where it should be!

Angie has and is doing a lot. It is her job as part UNHCR to shine the spotlight on what happening to the reguees.

Maybe if you actually took the time to do some research, you would know all the good work has done and is continuing to do. Such as help build school, provide sewing machines for women to learn a craft to support themselves and their families, or provide medical equipment for clinics, and such. There is no sense in posting the information again because some will just continue to ignore the information.

Just remember, education is the key NOT ignorance!

Personally, I’m sick and tired of people using Angelina’s current physical status as a weapon against her. They did it during her pregnancy, complaining that her thinness would affect Shiloh; then Shiloh was born at 7 lbs, fast forward to the present, Shiloh is the epitome of what babies should be– healthy, chubby, alert, and absolutely lovely. And look at Z… from a malnourished infant to a healthy, rambunctious toddler.

I understand concern, and I genuinely think that some are, but when these people start interjecting platitudes like ‘Brad likes his women skinny’ or ‘Angelina is being self-destructive’ just because, at this particular moment, she’s too skinny for some people’s frame of reference, then I seriously doubt your sincerity.

Most people are aware of the consequences of abusing food and, in turn, their bodies– loss of hair, teeth, osteoporosis, damage to major organs, including the heart. Do you really think that Angelina would jeopardize her chance to perform 100% in films, whether they were action, dramas, etc.? Do you think that she would jeopardize her quality of life with her family; one-on-one trips with Maddox, including dropping him off at school and playtime with Zahara and Shiloh for instead bedrest and IV feeding; and weekend excursions– bike trips, piloting her jet, etc. with Brad for more bedrest, IV feedings, and weekly counseling sessions with a eating disorder specialist. And finally, would she jeopordize her UN missions by increasing the likelihood of her collasping while the media records it, further belying some media outlets and politicians’ assertion that the places she goes to is too dangerous to offer aid and too dangerous for those not utilizing federal dollars to travel to?

People have jumped to the wrong conclusions before and there are no signs that it will end for Angelina. Angelina is probably more aware of her condition that the flacks at the tabs are; and if her situation is as dire as haters seem to claim, you would think that Brad, James, Holly or Maddox would have relayed their concern by now.

#84 Queen Bee

A very significant difference between the other really good people you named and Angelina is that she actually goes to the countries she is talking about , actually talks to the people , actually gets her hands dirty by working in the Millenium Villages or participating in building or loading trucks , or carrying children . How many of these other people do any of these things ? I don’t think Nicole Kidman has been to more than 2 countries and definitely not gotten dirty . The men you named have been working on this goal for the last 20-25 years . I think they are very admirable . All who decide to help the plight of the suffering are to be admired . But Angelina is definely in a special place . She is really unique .

Queen Bee Says: And as far as a Nobel Prize puhlease….she’s way behind Sir Bob Geldolf, Bono, Bill & Melinda Gates, Oprah and on and on….

To poster #84: Those that you mentioned above are way richer than Jolie. They’re BILLIONAIRES that you’re speaking of… Jolie is not a billionaire but worth some millions ONLY because she gives 1/3 of her income to charity and those in need. NOW when Oprah, Bill Gates, etc give 1/3 of their income away and time, I will be impressed!
I am a true fan of Angelina because she not only gives away $$$ but her precious time and energy for the less fortunate. Jolie is the true soul of a giver and one who loves children.

====================================

“What has changed?” Well the fact that you are here discussing the topic with us, the awareness in our conscience of what’s happening to some 200K people in Sudan, is what has changed. As for “What has improved?” Not much, because you have not done a thing to improve the situation. It takes all of us. But if you ask the little boy she held in her arms, he probably would tell you that for a moment in his life, he forgot about his suffering.
On a serious note, if you re-read the article, she is aware of her limitations, and is trying to find a solution.
About a year ago, I got a lot of books on international law and I tried to study what was going on—just out of a curiosity about what was this bigger picture. I don’t want to have to keep going back to camps, five different times, over the next 30 years of my life, [for situations] that there are no solutions for.
Mean time, bringing awareness to the crisis is what she wants to accomplish right now.

#132 I think you should read the whole article and find the answers to your questions. Check the organization listed if you want to help and donate money.

I will say though; the razor-thin cheekbone in pic 8 really indicates she should gain a bit. She looked amazing in pics where others said she was too thin (e.g. New Orleans), but she’s now getting gaunt…

#132 What is her point ?

If you really want to know what she has accomplished then you would have read that she is very active politically . She has been instrumental in getting a bill passed to help legally the immigrant children bought here , she has worked with politicians towards getting help medically , and economically for the people in these UNHCR countries , she has donted her money to build schools and orphanges and I’m sure I could go on and on .

To all those who defame her, I ask one question. How many of you would do this if you had the means? Yes, all the hollywood elite seem to think Africa is the cause of the day, but I don’t see them opening themselves to hug a naked emancipated child. You go Angelina! I am inspired. I don’t have much to contribute but, I will do something.

ITA with you, that what i meant, Angelina went to the places which dangerous, dirty
but she is not have ahorrible feeling, her aim is help people, what i say Nicole Kidman of other celebrity goes to charity but always with people sourround them clean, of fotos with children with uniforms, Angie’s not, look at her ,holding a dirty without underwear boys, but she’s hold him so touched, even Audrey Heburn has not a picture hold a child so, i admire Angelina, she open my eyes that everybody is the same, so i said shame you people, that stil and always badmouth about her

I think she is wonderful for her taking her time to shed light on these situations and she and anyone else who does this work should be commended for it, not mocked and ridiculed.

No offense, but what are the point of these trips? What does she actually accomplish? I mean Oprah (whom i loathe) went to Africa & built a school. Ok, fine, that is something tangible…

But what has Angelina actually done? She just goes there, gets her pics taken, and nothing changes. She has been doing these trips since 2001, WHAT HAS CHANGED? WHAT HAS IMPROVED?

All that happens is she gets good publicity. Now i\’m not saying that is her objective or her goal, but that is the only thing that actually happens.

^^^^

How much did you know about Darfur, Chad, Sudan, janjaweed, al Bashar, Congo, the aids epidemic etc before?

Maybe you were aware of some or more, but many weren’t until not only Angelina, but Bono, Mia Farrow and others said “look at me so I can show you what you need to see.”

Awareness preceeds, and hopefully help follows, and in the western world who is it we gaze upon most, or want to know every move they make? Celebritys that’s who, and thank GOD Angelina Jolie , Bono Vox, Mia Farrow, Oprah Winfrey and others newer at getting the press and cameras to come along such as Scarlet Johannson, Leonardo Di Caprio, Alisha Keyes have made the choice of using their time and money to shine a light on man’s inhumanity to man by going to places and into situations that they know unless they illuminate the atrocities no one else can or will give the attention that celebrity provides and so far they’ve been right.

Just look at this thread and what’s being discussed. Her trip has allowed for dialogue/discussion about something significant opposed to the normal empty debates like “are those real?/are those fake?”

The by product of Angelina Jolie’s fame is that she can help raise the consciousness not only about a part of the world many would give not a moments thought to, but there is a trickle up and down affect because of it not only because pocketbooks are being opened more (just her appearence on Anderson Coopers 360 last year raised donations in the 6 figures). The other by product of awareness is that it may make people look around in their own surroundings and see where they can help right in their own backyards.

Ok got it now THANKS :-) and i’ll do the same next time. As for Angie i hope she’s always safe everytime she goes to her humanitarian work.. God bless her.

This lady is so amazing! I would never have been made aware of the atrocities that is happening in these countries, if not for her. I know that many people get so lost in being self involved that they overlook what else is happening around them. She will certainly be rewarded for the great things she is doing, and continue to be blessed in her own little family. Brad and Angie, were meant to find one another, and the timing could not have been better. They were searching for something, and that something was each other.

You’re welcome alero.

In the interview I posted here, Mia says that she has ten adopted children and I think that’s wonderful. But it pisses me off whenever I meet someone who bitterly calls Angie “Mia Farrow” like it’s an insult. As far as we know, Mia’s kids have grown just fine, they’re not exactly the Hilton sisters. As long as a person can financially and emotionally support children like her, Brad and Mia can, then I think it’s fine if they want a lot of kids, just as long as they can provide for them. Also, Mia is a great actress and her humanitarian work is admirable. I would rather be called Mia Farrow then Courtney Love.

I really wish I could go to other countries and help people in need like Angelina! Every time I go to a store and Im with my mom someone will come up to use and tell us if they can have 50 cents or $1 for something and my mom will say that she doesnt have money it breaks my heart to see them leaving sad I just wish I had enough money so I could give them all the money they need but I know that wont happend so when I see people like Angelina it shows me that you CAN have enough money to give away to people who really need it thats why I admire her!! God bless her and her family!

She is amazing human being I love everything that she is doing to make the world a better place.

THIS LADY IS AN INSPIRATION.SHE REALLY CHANGED Y VIEWS INTO POSITIVE ONES.I HOPE OTHER STARS WILL LEAR FRO HER

WELL SAID …. #77, # 64 & #99!

For those who constantly question Ms. Jolie’s efforts — please tell me what have other “high profile/wealthy” celebs done?!? As a jew, Steven S. helped to raise the important awarness of the holocost.

Bono has done an amazing job for shining the spotlight on Africa (& providing funds). Which in turn, encouraged the Gates (& Oprah) to also get invloved.

However, thera are a number of celebs with far more money than Ms. Jolie, that have done little or nothing at all. Unless, you take into account all those that jumped on the band wagon AFTER the Jolie-Pitt’s forced the photogs to follow their global efforts.

Unfortunately, the majoriyt of the humanitarian organizations don’t get the exposure needed for thier efforts without the assistance of celebs. In Ms. Jolie’s case, she appears to be vested in her work. Please tell me, how many other celebs quietly “approached” the UN (years ago) to become an Ambassador?

It was Ms. Kidman’s mother that suggested she become invloved w/UN. While I applaud her for extedning herself, it’s not the same.

The Jolie-Pitt’s could easily stay in thier comfort of thier US homes/environment yet, they put themselves in areas around the world that most celebs would dare go to. Uness, it was on the advice of their agent, manager or publicist. And, a camera crew was included to film thier efforts.

The next time any “haters” cast stones at Ms. Joile & Mr. Pitt for becoming a family — PLEASE be sure to include the following “couples.” The again, these peolpe did not receive half of the “ongoing” negative publicity directed at Ms. Jolies & Mr. Pitt. Talk about a double-standard!

* Kate Hudson - and Owen Wilson (while she was married)
* Meg Ryan - and Russell Crow (while she was married)
* Ann Haitch - and her Men in Tree’s co-star (while she was married)
* Tori Spelling - and her current husband (while they “both” were married)!
* Julia Robert - and Danny Moder (while he was married)
* Antonio Banderas - and his current wife Melony G. (while he was married)
* Former NYC Mayor Rudy G. - and his current wife (while he was married).
* Newt G. - and his current wife (while he was married)
* Prince Charles - long affair w/his current wife (while “both” were married)

Celebrity Activism: Publicity Stunt or Sincere Care?

By Crystal Park

21 February 2007

It is the latest trend in Hollywood- picking a cause to support. But amidst the helpful spirit lies deep skepticism about celebrities’ motives. VOA’s Crystal Park takes a look at whether celebrity activism is a convenient vehicle for publicity or a genuine concern for the issues.

The band U2 has been rocking out for fans since 1976, and along the way collected 22 Grammy awards, the most any recording artist has ever won. They’ve sold more than 170 million albums worldwide. They are the ultimate rock stars.

Angelina Jolie Actress Angelina Jolie is the sixth highest paid actress in Hollywood, commanding $10 million per film. She’s also a constant tabloid darling, thanks to her very high profile relationship with actor Brad Pitt.

But there is another side to these mega famous celebrities. This side lets the spotlight come off them, and shine on some people who need it more.

Celebrities have been playing dual roles, as entertainer and activist, for a long time.

Movie star Audrey Hepburn was one of the first celebrities to champion a cause. However, these days, it seems nearly every celebrity has a cause or organization they are affiliated with.

But some critics complain celebrities are more interested in boosting their profile, than raising aid for the causes they’re touting.

Many critics also say celebrity activists are hypocrites- spending time with AIDS patients in Africa, and then coming home to extravagant lifestyles. But actor Don Cheadle says that is precisely why they are doing what they do. “You do sit there, and you do go, ‘Wow I have this embarrassment of wealth, and what am I doing? And very closely on the heels of that you go, “Well, this is what I’m doing, and this is how I’m trying to do it, and this is the way I’m trying to draw focus,” he said.

A deeper concern for many critics is that these celebrities do not have a strong grasp of the issues they are talking about.

Tim Irwin One organization that specifically seeks out help from celebrities is the United Nations. Their long-standing Goodwill Ambassador program specifically uses celebrities to draw attention to their mission. Their most famous ambassador is Angelina Jolie. UNHCR spokesman, Tim Irwin, says, on the contrary, the celebrities he works with do understand the issues. He said, “They are informed and they are involved. They will frequently pay all of their expenses when they’re on missions.

The celebrities themselves say they get involved because it is impossible not to. Actor George Clooney said, “You want to just scream and you want to stand there and say, ‘What is wrong with you people? Are you kidding? That we’re all sitting in rooms talking about this while these people are dying?”

But a celebrity endorsement has little or no impact on the public’s decision to support a cause or charity, according to a survey by Cone, Incorporated, a communications agency engaged in building brand trust.

The survey of about one thousand adults revealed that celebrities are the least likely to influence a person’s decision to support a cause. Instead, one’s family and friends hold the most power.

But the skepticism surrounding celebrities who are devoted to a cause does not discourage the devoted celebrities. Oscar winner Nicole Kidman said, “There’s always going to be cynicism. Be willing to take the shots, be willing to keep doing your bit because if you’ve been given an enormous amount in life, it is your duty to give back.”

Though celebrities are often scrutinized for their motives, they have the ears of some of the most powerful political figures in the world. Rock star Bono has discussed AIDS issues in Africa with President Bush. Movie star Angelina Jolie has talked with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice about the plight of refugees.

Both sides do agree on one thing. The good that these celebrities do accomplish is more important than the publicity it generates.

http://www.voanews.com/english/2007-02-21-voa38.cfm

Prejudices of all kinds- whether religious, racial, or political- are destructive of divine foundations in man.
All the warfare and bloodshed in human history have been the outcome of prejudice. This earth is one home and native land. God has created mankind with equal endowment and right to live upon the earth.
As a city is the home of all its inhabitants although each may have his individual place of residence therein, so the earth’s surface is one wide native land or home for all races of humankind.

I really think Angie has a full life, she’s like very strong and courageous, but she has this mysterious aura about her, this fragileness…she’s like a contradiction.

She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn lately.

guys , i just once in a blue moon but don’t worry about somebody who hid under different name ,asking asinine questions or spew there hateful spirit. i know time this person, is just lurking here and then start ranting.well, maybe there’s another one who seem to hv a bit of brain but she forgot to use it wisely and was drained back to the gutter. anyway, guys i know this off topic, but since were constantly mentioning charity and the people involve in it, including angie. but my question is why inspite of the fact tht theres lot of rich people and charities who help africa, why is it tht a lot of people are still suffering, sick,un-educated,dying,jobless, dependent, starving and etc. where exactly the money goes? how did charities spend or distribute the money? i heard warren gave pretty much all his billions to the charity of mr. bill gates. but it seems like , i never seen big changes, majority are still in dire situation.i am really confused, they always say one dollar could go a long way for african, but they are donating millions of u.s dollars? whts the improvement? i heard bill gate’s foundation supporting about the cure for aids. though i feel like lost in it, where in africa? and thts all they did for tht money? or did they build a technical or trade school where they learn skill to make their life easier and to become less dependent . i think giving food, clothes and etc. is not enough. they don’t luxury school to be pampered, tht will come later when ur an accomplished person. they need education, good health, skills and training .the thing i like w/ angie though she put thing in real perspective, tht people need skills so they will be less dependent. u can’t just help same people or support them while theres lots of others in waiting. like for example tht one she did in cambodia. sometimes, if u give money directly to the person who knows, wht they gonna do w/ the money. so thts why the bamboo and rice planting or supporting the productions is really good or else everybody will just rely for help .anyway, i still want enlightenment about those rich charities? i will include my dearest oprah since she is also the richest woman, no kids just sophie the dog, maybe she can built more schools ( i mean a school tht would benefit the majority not just a chosen few) c’m on , if u wanna help, please do it realistically. like also building a clinics. i am also trying to call out celebrities, politicians who are saying they support charity but all i can see are there face plastered on televisions, internet, magazines yet i wonder if they donate their own money to it or tht’s just p.r. theres one actress, i heard asking for donations to save an elephant named daisy. i was asking myself, why she ask donations for tht, she has plenty of money , way more money for tht elephants needs?. oh my……..

That is a big inaccuracy. GP was always very thin before while and after she was with Brad. JA was told to lose many pounds so she could get the role in Friends before Brad. And as for Angie she was always like that in her life. Go to any site and see pictures of her of 2000 and after. She is like that because she wants to be like that and she is able to travel and be a mother to three kids and she will soon have another one so she is obviously very healthy and active. Has anyone read the stories about the parent’s of the kids who go to Oprah’s school in Africa complaining? They’re complaining that they are hardly allowed to see their daughters who are like 13 years old. hahahaha, this is going to become a problem for Okra soon enough.

Oh, and if that’s not enough, Lainey and Perez have both hinted that Courtney Cox and David Arquettes’ marriage is on the breakdown cause Courtney is shagging some dude on her show

I FCUKING LOVE IT!

Oh and Angelina is doing a movie with Clint Eastwood. So much for those people screaming no one would work with her.HA!

Yes, Karma for all. Ain’t it sweet.

Good afternoon, BAMZS+1 lovers!

Angelina is some amazing woman, isn’t she? I always have sympathy for the poor and homeless, but I don’t know if I could do what she did in this photo, which is cuddle up a boy with no underwear, who probably stank to high heaven, and yet Angelina was able to hold him as tenderly as she does with her own children. Her “vile, veiny, claw-like hands” were so gentle as she held this boy with such compassion and empathy on her face, it is unbelievable! This was probably one of the few times in this boy’s life that he had that kind of physical contact, and no matter what happens to him, the memory of it will stay with him as long as he lives.

Agreed. As if this small emaciated child tied to a post is only visible by some and the haters just missed that image. Their hatred does not alow them to focus on that child’s misery and instead they have to channel their ugliness onto the woman who is bringing attention to that child.

I think a hater probably makes up his or her mind that he/she is not going to like or approve Angelina no matter what. It is a form of prejudice towards her to the point that they are blinded by their own hatred at this point. It is almost like they are at the point of no return. They almost get a high on this level of blinding hate they have in their hearts. So I suggest we leave them to their pitiful sad selves and just pray for them…

I never felt as compelled, or as inspired, to really try and make a difference, and I believe that most of this type of ‘celebrity get acquainted to Africa’ missions, is due largely to Angie. JMHO.

ITA, the real lou! I occasionally dare to go over to the dark side (FF) and those heifers have all predicted that Brad’s and Angie’s careers are pretty much done … so now the prestigious Newsweek article about Angie, and the two movies that she is reported to be doing (The Changeling and Sin City 2), whether true or not, are driving them over the edge, so that they are spouting so much more bile than usual!

They cannot accept it that even though the _ has three movies according to imdb.com, none seem to be beyond the planning stage. Especially the one they are so proud of, the one supposedly with Meryl Streep, as if being with MS will make the _ a legitimate actress. Heck, she could play in a movie surrounded by Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson and other Oscar-winning actors, and she would still be Rachel Green.

If she only had played nice with Brad, then she would be like Gwyneth now — in two movies produced by Brad, one of the hottest producers in HW now. Oh well, too bad, too sad!

RANDOM: I watched ‘The Sting,’ last night on cable - had never seen it. Brad’s resemblance to Redford when he was young, is pretty amazing. Man where he and Paul Newman something. Paul Newman ws like 46 when he filmed this and Redford was like 37.

I asked this question last night - but it was late….does anyone know where in the Access Clip Extended of the God Grew Tired of Us premiere do you hear Brad tell Angelina to “Come here.” Then with the smootch/hug. It’s 5:15 minutes long so I just wanted to pinpoint it.

Your POV is respected. However, my concern is that we pick and choose where we send our American troops.

Why is it more necessary to send troops to Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Eastern Europe and not Africa?

Why did we not deliver Rwanda and now Darfur? Double standard? Is oil more precious than a human life?

If we are sending innocent men and women in the armed services to die, how noble it would be to send them to die to save a life rather than an oil well.

I know I know. This is my idealist self talking and I know the reality of it.

I just wish this little boy’s life above was seen as preciously as a gallon of oil.

Anyway, kudos Angie!

Hope everyone donates to Darfur…..later….

to the fan who is goint to visit Nice, France,

I don’t know what to tell you. If you are in down town, go by walk everywhere. You will enjoy the old city.

I like Carros and Fayence but you need a car to go those places. St-Paul is very touristy but very nice and expensive. I love Eze village, not by the seaside one. There are 3 villages called Eze. Villefranche is also my favourite, specially on Sundays. There is open bazaar.

As you can see, I love the places around Nice. Sorry, for not being a help to you.

the haters are upset because instead of getting Angelina Jolie naked crotch pictures coming out of a limo on her way to Hyde in LA, they are getting pics of her hugging a starving kid.

It irks them. They want this woman to misbehave and act like a twat. They hate that she conducts herself with such dignity for they have not dish on her - none with proof anyway.

Kudos Angie!

from imdb, regarding Meryl Streep, let’s analyse Meryl’s schedule.

Meryl is filming Lions for Lambs with Tom Cruise. Looks like a big project.

By the time Meryl finishes this, she will go into projects that are now listed as “pre-production”. Look at the scedule below, there are many many 2008 pre-production in progress right now. “wanted” is NOT one of them.

Looks like Meryl will be busy. She certainly has NO time for that “wanted” which Jen fans are bragging about

First Man (2008) (announced) …. The President
Wanted (2007) (announced)

Chaos (2008) (pre-production)
Dirty Tricks (2008) (pre-production) …. Martha Mitchell
The Last Station (2008) (pre-production) …. Sofia Andreyevna
Mamma Mia! (2008) (pre-production) …. Donna

Lions for Lambs (2007) (filming) …. Ursula Leachman

Evening (2007) (post-production) …. Lila Wittenborn
Rendition (2007/I) (post-production)

Actually, Sudan which is home to Darfur has a billion dollar oil in the sand. Guess where is this oil?

you guess it…

Darfur.

It is oil in this region that is causing a problem for the locals and the government or various competing people with $$$ in their eyes wanting to take ownership of the oil sands so to speak that are fighting over Darfur

One of the reason no one wants to deal with what is going on is because China is one of the major backers for Sudanese government. And we all know that certain people don’t want to piss off China in the current Adiminstration. As Bill Mahr say they make the little toys that goes in the happy meals. Our government is so busy kissing China butt that nothing else matters, IMO.

Ye Olde Tabloid Report

Sorry in advance for the length, folks! Lot of cr#p to cover this week…and don’t forget to look for the hidden song lyric…

There’s good news and bad news this week. The good news is that Brad and Angie are getting another kid. The bad news is that every tabloid except the National Enquirer felt the need to write a 10 page article about it. Even worse…every one of them had just about the exact same story with quotes from the exact same Vietnamese officials. For a communist country, the Vietnamese sure are loose-lipped. I thought “freedom of speech” was our thing?

Here is some basic information, I hesitate to call them “facts”, that isin just about every story this week:
- They’re adopting a boy, aged 3-4
- Vietnamese minister of adoption Vu Duc Long doesn’t know when to shut up
- The child is coming from the Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chih Minh City
- Brad and Angie love all their little tykes and this is going to be one lucky litte anke-biter
- Angie is adopting as a single person because unmarried couples cannot adopt under Vietnamese Law
- The folks at the Tam Binh orphanage had no idea that Angie was planning to adopt from them
- The adoption could take up to 5 months

Okay…so let’s cut to the chase…the nominees for This Week’s Funniest Tabloid Stories Are:

- National Enquirer: Story: A Star Is born

The only rag not to do an adoption story. I think they’re budget is a bit pinched and they didn’t have any spare cash this week to pay “sources”. So instead they go with a fictional story about the photos we saw a week ago with Shiloh on the set of CCOBB with Brad.

* NE claims they have an exclusive this week – Shiloh substitutes for the twins who were supposed to play Cate Blanchett’s character as a baby. (Sidebar: Amazing how no one knew about this sooner…including the people making the movie.)

* NE says they couldn’t get the twins who were supposed to play the role to settle down and they tried everything, including feeding them, changing them and hugging them. (Sidebar: I guess it never occured to them that the little buggers were holding out for their paycheck?)

* According to a insider on the set who is now looking for a new job, “Then quick thinking Brad realized his daughter’s happy and mellow disposition made her a quick fix for the role.” (Sidebar: Word has it that Shiloh, a keen contract negotiator like her father, was able to get $20MIL up front and 10% of the gross profits for her imaginary day’s work. Clearly those twins were being divas.)

* The NE says that director David Finch jumped at the idea and Shiloh was rushed to the costume and make-up in record time. (Sidebar: In another keen negotiating move Shiloh got to keep both her wardrobe, a blue onesie festooned with seed pearls and diamante, and the remainder of the unused box of Pampers: Ages 9-12 months.)

* The NE’s source says, “She’s a natural. Shiloh did her scenes perfectly and was giggling and happy throughout her big day.” (Sidebar: I’d be giggling and happy to if I got $20MIL + 10% of the gross profits! Later in the evening, at the home of the Jolie-Pitts, late, late at night when they were supposed to be sleeping, I have learned, exclusively, I might add, that Zahara was overheard saying to Shiloh, “You stink Shi. You should’ve got a box of graham crackers instead of the Pampers!”

OK!: This week OK! goes for warm-and-fuzzy with lots of photos of Brad & Shiloh on the CCOBB set and photos fo Jane with Shiloh & Mad, but they get in their digs at the adoption as well.

* The start out with the Warm-and-fuzzy - Shiloh and Brad on the CCOBB set. According to a witness, “Shiloh had a great tiem sitting on Brad’s shoulders.” (Sidebar: Yeah, I bet she did. Brad’s got something I’d like to sit on, too…and it ain’t above his waist.)

* The witness says that “Shiloh was playing with a lot of the neighborhood kids.” (Sidebar: Come on…the kid can’t even walk. How much “playing” could she possible have done that didn’t involve her own spit bubbles?)

* Since there was really no story with Shiloh on the set, OK! segues into the adoption part of the story. They say the boy is 3 to 4 years old and will join Angie’s other adopted children, “Both of whom Brad has adopted.” (Sidebar: Hmm. I know it’s OK!, but this is only the second time I’ve seen a “magazine” publish that the adoption was complete. I guess someone sent them a quarter and they bought a clue.)

* OK! says that in Vietnam orphanages boys outnumber girls and that adoption is “complicated and expensive” - up to $23K. Four or five months after they apply the prospective parents have to spend a 2-3 week “journey of love” to pick up their child. (Sidebar: Uh…OK! was the only tab to come up with this “journey of love” cr#p, so let’s put that down as “story enhancement” shall we.)

* They also say that Vietnamese law states that adoptive parents must not be divorces more than twice…and that Angie is “at the limit”. (Sidebar: Funny they should mention limits…cuz they take it to the limit one more time…)

* OK! goes on to ponder why are Angie and Brad in such a rush to adopt add another child to their family. According to a supposed friend of Angies, “Angelina would’ve loved for her mom to have seen a dozen grandkids running around her house.” (Sidebar: I’m scratching my head on this one…Angie’s adopting again for her dead mother…who can’t see the child…cuz…she’s kinda dead! Whuh?)

* Sorry, excuse me…OK! says the adoption is a “tribute to her mom”. My bad.

* Ok! goes on to wonder if adopting so soon after Shiloh’s birth is a good idea. There PAID EXPERT - Dr. Gilda of Drgilda.com for those of you who wanna get cybershrunk - says, “She loses interest in the children as they start becoming more GROWN UP. Time and effort have to be invested in talking to the children and seeing them grow up.” (Sidebar: Uh, I know the folks are OK! are a third rate tabloid, but surely even they realize how stupid this statement is? First of all, she says Angie loses interest as the children become “more grown up”. How grown up is a 9 month old…and a 26-month old…compared to the 4 YEAR-OLD she’s adopting? Let’s see…we’ve got one that can’t talk, can’t walk, and wears diapers and plays in her poo like it’s silly putty; another one that can talk, can walk but is too lazy and makes Mommy and Daddy carry her, and wears diapers because she refuses to believe that going on the big people’s potty is going to be more fun than pooping in her drawers and somene else having to wipe her ass. Now, contrast that to a child who can walk, talk, and you don’t have to wipe his ass for him. Now is it me, or is their expert as stupid as she sounds?)

* In a separate article OK! had a feature called “How to live like - Angelina Jolie” and it was a bunch of pictures of sh#t none of us will ever be able to afford, so who cares?

Outtatouch: Story: The Family’s Getting Bigger

* Warm-and-fuzzy abounds this week at OuttaTouch, too. They have a lot of the NO photos that we’ve already seen - mainly Brad & Angie with Shiloh & Z in the sroller walking around the French Quarter. According to an onlooker, “They looked like they were on top of the world.” (Sidebar: Why wouldn’t they be on top of the world. Brad gets to f#ck THE Angelina Jolie. Angie gets to f#ck THE Brad Pitt. Oh..yeah…and their tots are cute, too.)

* I am so sorry…my bad again. OuttaTouch says the reason they’re so happy is because they’re getting ready to add another kid to the family and that the news was confirmed by a Vietnamese adoption official, Vu Duc Long. (Sidebar: I love how every tab tried to make it sound like Long spoke to them directly, when in fact he issued a general press release to the worldwide media. But, Ma and Pa Kettle in Podunk, Mississippi don’t know that, so every rag looks like they’ve got a legitimate story written with the cooperation of the Vietnamese government.)

* They go on to say that Angie is “side-stepping” the unmarried couples rule by filing to adopt as a single woman. “Sidebar: Somehow I got a feeling the folks in Vietnam know she’s half of the hottest couple in the world. Whoever sent the folks at OK! the quarter to buy a clue, could ya send one to the publishers of OuttaTouch, too? Thank you.)

* OuttaTouch says that Angie has applied to adopt a boy, aged 3 to 4, and their PAID INSIDER says that Mad is “really excited”. The source goes on to say, “He needs a little buddy to do boy stuff with. He’s been jumping with joy at the thought of having a brother to protect and explore the world with.” (Sidebar: When the new brother arrives the first thing Mad is going to do is lay down the ground rules: “Shiloh is MY PET. You have to ask Mommy for you own…better yet, ask Daddy, he’s the soft touch.”)

* OuttaTouch wonders if Brad and Angie are up to the task of having so many kids so quickly and a non-existent “pal” says, “Of course there will be a period of adjustment for the new little one but he’ll showered with love. Before a month goes by, he’ll be as bright and bubbly as the other three.” (Sidebar: Okay…this pal had something nice to say, so let’s pretend he’s real.)

* In a sidebar OuttaTouch has a story about a test screening for Brad’s AOJJ. They say the audiences don’t like the movie and a witness at the screening said 28 people walked out. The witness says, “The movie is long and boring and has little action.” (Sidebar: I guess the witness stood at the door and counted as they left? You know…just so their information would be more valuable when they sold it to a tab…)

* However, Brad’s rep denies it’s a “dud”. I’m assuming this is not Cindy G - the rep says the viewers walked out during scenes that are graphically violent, “They are working on it. This isn’t the exact movie that will be in theaters.” (Sidebar: Hmm..the test audiences hate it, yet all the reviews we’ve seen are glowingly positive, including one review from a well-known director that was posted her a few weeks ago. These people were probably expecting to see “Gunfight at the OK Corral” and got “Unforgiven”.)

* On the caption of a photo of Mad, OuttaTouch says that he will have a part in naming the child. (Sidebar: Mad, dude…stay away from Brad’s architecture books!)

* Under a photo of Shiloh & Brad, the caption is a quote from someone on the set of CCOBB, “It’s obvious Brad loves his daughter. He could not have looked happier spending so much quality time with her.” (Sidebar: I got a feeling Brad is happy spending non-quality time with her, too. The guy is probably wiping her poopy little butt and grinning up a storm…”Look what I made, look what I made!”)

- Star: Story: Brad and Angelina - Two Babies On the Way!

* Star, Star, Star, Star, Star. Ya gotta love ‘em. Because everyone essentially had the same story this week, the Star had to do something to make their story stand out. What could top 1 new kid? Why…TWO new kids, of course!

* Everyone’s story starts out warm-and-fuzzy this week and Star is no exception. According to their sources on the CCOBB set Angie brought the kids to the set to see Brad 5 or 6 days a week. They say the kids would sometimes get bored, but Mad had a drawing pad and entertained himself. Their source says, “Brad would light up when Angie and the kids were there. He would smile a lot more. He and Mad would even kick around a soccer ball during breaks.” (Star: Hmm…5 or 6 days a week, huh? And the photos are where? Cuz, Lord knows they were sure being stalked by enough razzi!)

* Star says that although, as they reported exclusive (and then took back last week, but that’s beside the point) Angie and Brad are adopting a 3 to 4 year old boy from Vietnam. BUT…that’s not the end of their joy! Star has learned EXCLUSIVELY that Brad and Angie are HOPING to have another biological baby by the end of the year. They go on to say that as they reported 2 months ago Angie has stopped taking her birth control pills. (Sidebar: I emphasized “hoping” because that’s what the Star is doing…thowing sh#t at the wall and HOPING it sticks.)

* According to their PAID source who is supposedly close to Brad and Angie, “Brad and Angie are planning on being pregnant as soon as the adoption is complete. They’re going to let nature take its course.” (Sidebar: Mmm-hmmm…I’m sure they’re all into letting nature take it’s course…frequently…and repeatedly.)

* Star says that to some people 2 kids under age 2 would be more than enough to handle, but both have said they want lots of kids and since Brad is 43 they want to complete their family while he’s still young enough to keep up with them. (Sidebar: Here’s the Star’s 1% truth for this week. Angie said as much in several interviews, but if Brad is old at 43, then I need to buy my ass a coffin.)

* All these kiddies may be the reason why the “nomadic pair” has set up house in NO, where they can stay out of the limelight. According to their source, “Angie cares less and less about her movie career and image, and Brad doesn’t care about the showy side of Hollywood.” (Sidebar: Oooh, go Star, up to 2% truth…)

* Star says that Brad is investing a lot interest in NO, particular his Global Green project. A local who’s seen them out walking around the FQ says, “It seems like they want to fit in and be regular. There’s no entourage - just one bodyguard walking behind them - they’re just pushing the baby stroller.” (Sidebar: Go Star, go Star, go Star…up to 3% truth…go on with your bad self.)

* Another source, a cashier at the Cafe Envie where B/A stop for coffee, says, “People don’t really bother them. Brad and Angie are really friendly and they don’t want people to fuss over them. One day Angie was betting someone’s puppy and she said she was thinking about getting a dog!” (Sidebar: Uh…I thought they had dogs in LA? Why not just bring them NO?)

* Back to the adoption, Star speculates on why Angie chose Vietnam - because it’s near Cambodia and the child would have a common background with Mad, who currently doesn’t have anyone in the family he has that in common with, whereas Z and Shiloh - get this - “both have African roots”. (Sidebar: BWWWHAHAHAHAHA! Puh-leeze, b#tch.)

* The Star’s PAID SOURCE says, “Since she has 2 girls, she’d like an Asian boy who can relate to Mad.” (Sidebar: I’m not going to give them the full 1% on this one because I can’t figure out what having 2 girls has to do with getting an Asian child…the boy part I get. So…Star, you’re up to 3.5% truth this week…wanna go for a whole 4%?)

* Star’s source goes on to say that Brad and Angie were both moved to tears by their visit to the Tam Binh orphanage, but Angie is filing as a single because of VN’s rule against unmarried couples adopting, “She really bonded with the children there. Brad is all for it, he plans on giving the child his name, as he did with Maddox and Zahara. He has a strong bond with all of the children.” (Sidebar: Uh, he’s got a “strong bond with all of THE children” because their HIS CHILDREN. HELL-O!)

* Star says their source tells them that Brad and Angie aren’t the only ones in the family adopting right now, that Brad’s sister Julie and her husband are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. (Sidebar: Riiiiiiight…so you’ve been saying for about 2 years now. To paraphrase that little old lady from the old Wendy’s commercials, “Where’s the kid?”)

* The news of the adoption came as a shock to the director of the Tam Binh orphanage and he told the Star, We’d had no contact from Ms. Jolie since her visit.” (Sidebar: I’m gonna give Star half a percernt for printing this, cuz they could’ve omitted it and twisted the story…so…Star’s up to a whopping 4% truth this week.)

* Star goes on to say that photos of the children will be mailed to Angie before a final decision is made, and the adoption should take up to 4 months to finalize. The orphanage director says, “It will be an enormous boost for us. Having someone as famous as Angelina Jolie adopt from here will be a tremedous value. It means we will get more funding and the chance to change the lives of more kids.” (Sidebar: Good for them…can’t say anything snarky about helping the little kiddies…)

* Because they’d been so nice up to now, Star speculates if B/A are taking on too much with both an adoption and a bio baby. Their PAID SOURCE says, “Brad has always said he wants to have a natural-born sibling. He enjoys seeing himself and Angie in Shiloh’s features. He’ll say things like, ‘She’s got Angie’s pout.’ or “She’s got my blue eyes.’” (Sidebar: Uh, I believe Angie said on Nightline in early 2006 that she’s love to “adopt and buch more, have a COUPLE more,” so she’s obviously not opposed to giving Shiloh a natural-born sibling!)

* It’s now time for Star to trot out their PAID EXPERT, who says managing this many kids, along with working, traveling and humantarian work, can be tricky, “It could have negative implications. If you’re bringing a young child into the family, that takes more time and attention away from other children. If the mother is away from the children, they can’t bond. And traveling can be very rough on children - not having a home or a center can be quite disturbing.” (Sidebar: Soooo…now Angie’s being castigated for something she hasn’t done for almost 5 months…and has no immediate plans to return to. could you at least wait until the woman actually has a j-o-b before you preach doom-and-gloom?)

* Moving in a new direction, Star says that the kids have brought Brad and Angie’s families closer and while Angie was in Africa Jane Pitt came to help Brad with the kids, and since Angie and Jane have an “icy” relationship this is a big step forward. Their PAID SOURCE says, “Things are at a holding point between Jane and Angie. Jane’s just happy she’s getting to bond with the children. Janes’ a very loving woman and treats all the children fairly. She considers them all her grandchildren.” (Sidebar: Still gnawing on that “Jane prefers X over Angie” bone, I see. They’re the ONLY rag to say to this…but, no great shocker there.)

* Star goes on to point out that leaving the children with Jane is a big deal for Angie because as she said in the Vogue interview, she doesn’t trust anyone. Their PAID SOURCE says Angie is “starting to feel comfortable leaving the children in someone else’s care now.” (Sidebar: Uh, get it right Star, Angie said she “doesn’t anyone COMPLETELY”, which is a whole other ball of ear wax. And if she doesn’t trust her children with anyone, then please explain those pix of Z and her NANNY on the beach…without Angie?)

* In a sidebar there’s a little bit of info about the adoption, some of which is covered by all the tabs, but one quote is from someone at an international adoption agency who says, “We’ll check to see how the family feels about being part of a biracial family.” which Star says is obviously no problem for B/A. (Sidebar: Should I give ‘em an extra 1% truth for that? Nah…they’ll only say something stupid later and I’ll have to take it away again.)

* In a completely unrelated sidebar, Star talkes about a wine store that Brad and Angie like to frequent, The Wine Cellar. The owner says, “They’re really down to earth.” Star goes on to say Brad and Cate Blanchett have become very good friends and recently Brad came in with Cate and her husband. They also say that Brad and Cate threw a party for crew at Tommy’s Wine Loft on March 4, and Angelina was there. (Sidebar: I just threw in that “Angelina was there” bit for you losers out there who think Cate B. has a thing for Brad…cuz even if it were true, it obviously ain’t reciprocate. Ya freaking idiots.)

I love how the Star has unwittingly given proof that they make up quotes. They’ve got a huge picture of Brad and Shiloh and the caption reads, “Brad would always light up when Angie brought the kids on set. He would smile more.” Now…contrast that to what they wrote earlier in the story, “Brad would light up when Angie and the kids were there. He would smile a lot more. He and Mad would even kick around a soccer ball during breaks.” Now…did they have 2 people who said basically the same thing, did they paraphrase the original quote, make up one quote, or make up both quotes? You be the judge.

Lifeless & Styleless: Ah…my new favorite tabloid has gone the extra mile again and fabricated an angle to the adoption that no one else came up with…and for good reason, I might add. Story: The Wedding Is On - With their 4th child on the way, Angie tells Brad, I’m ready”.

L&S, like Star, goes for a twist to their story, but at least the Star’s twist is plausible. For various reasons, with a pending adoption, getting married right now might not be in B/A’s best interest. But…

* According to L&S’s PAID SOURCE, a supposed friend of Angie’s, Angie called Brad from Chad and “joyfully” told him, “I’m so happy and I love you so much. Can we get married now?” (Sidebar: ROTFLMAO. That sounds like a line in one of X’s God-awful rom-coms.)

* L&S says that after their recent tough times, Marceline’s death and who could forget the Great Smoking Blowout Fight, a friend of Brad’s says he realizes this is the perfect time to tie the knot. (Sidebar: Oh yeah, that makes sense, “I know we fight like cats and dogs, but…baby, let’s get married!”)

* L&S says that Angie wants all the kids involved in the wedding, including their new adoptee. Their PAID INSIDER says Angie wants the kids “to know that their parents share a deep love. She’s ready to make a lifelong commitment to Brad.” (Sidebar: Could be me, but I think having the man’s baby and letting him adopt her children is one big-ass clue that a “lifetime committment” has already been made. Getting married is like the cherry on top of the sundae!)

* This fiction continues with Angelina planning a “low-key” Spring wedding in the Bahamas where she scattered Marcheline’s ashes. (Sidebar: ROTFL. The Bahamas, huh? Gee, could ya be a little more specific? Like the name of a TOWN? Woops…can’t tell what you don’t know and never make your lie too complicated because it’s harder to undo it later. Someone on the editing staff studied Bullsh#t 101 with the great Bonnie Fuller, didn’t they? You’ve learned well, Grasshopper.)

* L&S goes on to say that the guest list will be small - Angie, Brad, the kiddies, Jamie, the Pitts, a few close friends, and they plan to include the kids in the ceremony. According to their PAID INSIDER, “She and Brad will write their own vows, but she wants a Buddhist monk to perform the ceremony in honor of Maddox’s native religion.” (Sidebar: L&S is like a full moon…once a month they have this exact same story. And it’s about as close to happening as Alice Kramden GOING to the moon.)

* Apparently L&S didn’t learn as much from Bonnie Fuller as I thought because they continue to elaborate on the wedding details - Something from Ethiopia will be included, too. The PAID INSIDER says, “The wedding will be about celebrating theirlove and their family.” (Sidebar: Luv, luv, luv the vagueness here, “something from Ethiopia”…that could be Z! And what about Shiloh? What part of her Namibian culture are they going to include? Do tell, cuz ENQUIRING minds want to know.)

* The caption of the photos of Jane with Z and Shiloh quotes a supposed friend (they don’t specify WHO’S friend, so it could be YOUR FRIEND) as saying, “It’s no secret that she would love for Brad and Angie to marry.” (Sidebar: I love it when the tabs contradict each other! Take that Star!)

* A sidebar story - “X Devastated!” - L&S says that naturally X is hurt by the news of the wedding, but she’s also upset to hear that B/A are adopting again. For the record, X’s rep denied the story, but get real…you know that b#tch is bitter like a mofo. A supposed friend of X’s says, “Jen’s been taking baby steps toward adopting and has been overwhelmed. She’s jealous of how easily Brad and Angie put together a family.” They go on to say that X is determined to adopt and the friends says, “She want to make it happen this year.” (Sidebar: Yeah, X is gonna adopt and I’m going to take up yoga, pilates, smoking, whining, hanging around with my friend so much it puts her marriage in jeopardy, and pity parties. Not. Gonna. Happen.)

* In their SCOOPS section, L&S has come up with another winner - “Brad Poses Nude”. Yep, that’s right…Brad, captured on canvas…in all his nekkid glory. Brad’s rep denies he’s ever posed nude, but L&S’s PAID INSIDER says when Brad had painter Don Barclay paint a nekkid, pregger Angie last year, that Angie had Brad painted, too, “The portraits are a testament to their love.” L&S says this is what Don Barclay told their source and that the paintings will be exhibited “sometime soon”. The source also says, “Angelina wanted a painting of Brad that would live on forever.” (Sidebar: Uh…how is the painting of Angie going to be exhibited when supposedly BRAD has the painting. And if Brad has the Nekkid Angie painting, then you can be damned sure he also has the Nekkid Brad painting. Why on earth L&S dug up this old ass story is beyond me.)

-US: Story: It’s A Boy!

As I said earlier all the mags are into warm-and-fuzzy this week. Janice Min’s story is mostly positive, although she can’t help but get in a few digs here and there. B#tch is so mad at Brad for thwarting her at every turn. Hehehehehe…poor thing…

* US starts out with some info on B/A’s lives in NO, including the March 5th photos of them wallking around the neighborhood pushing Z and Shiloh in the stroller. An eyewitness says, “They stopped and to say hi to all the locals who greated them. They were very neighborly.” (Sidebar: And very accomodating to let the razzi get a few shots of Shiloh so they’ll quit acting like King Arthur hunting for the bloody Holy Grail!)

* Dig #1 - Brad and Angie were wearing matching outfits while strolling the neighborhood on March 5.

* According to an onlooker, “They walked all around the neighborhood, almost in circles. Z and Shiloh just kept eating their snacks and looked like they were happy to be outside.” (Sidebar: Brad & Angie better be careful cuz those two girls are going to eat them out of house and home. They’ll blow their both of their fortunes buying Z and Shiloh in Cheerios and crackers.)

* US speculates that the biggest reason for the kids’ demeanor is their new sibling - a 4 year old boy. (Sidebar: Janice…please. Those two kids are too young to understand their getting a sibling until the kid is in the house everyday…and Z realizes she has to share the Cheerios with someone other than Shiloh. Sh#t is gonna hit the fan when that happens.)

* US says that Angie is currently in the second stage of the adoption, the first being when she filed paperwork with the US Citizenship & Immigration Services during a Jan. 18-19 visit to VN, as first reported by US. (Sidebar: Uh, Janice…I told you this a few week’s ago - LAMEY actually scooped your asses on that. Now how sad is that?)

* An insider, in VN, close to the adoption says, “The kid is normal, healthy and very good-looking.” (Sidebar: Dig #2)

* US goes on to say that Angie submitted as a single because of the unmarried couples rule, the boy is about 1 year younger than Maddox and that Brad and Angie have asked that the boy’s name be kept confidential. (Sidebar: Keep the name confidential? NOOOOO! You’re kidding! Why would they do that?!)

* Speculating about how long the process will take, US says it could take up to 4 months. US says that it’s not that unusual for the rich and famous to try to speed up the process, but according to Nguyen Cong Khanh of the VN Internat’l Adoption Dept. Angie will not be given preferential treatment, “No priority will be given to them. They will be treated equally as any other people.” (Sidebar: It has since been announced by NV officials that Angie’s application has been “fast-tracked” because she had already picked the child out. Let’s see how the tabs spin that tidbit next week. I’m sure they’ll lay it on really thick with the Madge angle.)

* Speaking of Madge, Dig #3 - US says Angie not getting preferential treatment is under scrutiny because of her remarks about Madge writing her own adoption rules in Malawi. They use Angie’s quote about not taking a child away from a country where adoption is illegal. US goes on to quote a VN source who says, “She (Angie) promised to give $2MIL to Tam Binh on the very day she receives the child.” They say it is of note that the actualy fee is only about $125 and that Angie’s rep didn’t respond to their request for a comment and Brad’s rep had no comment. (Sidebar: Poor wittle Janice…still upset that Brad gave People your Z scoop AND the Shiloh photos…and every other important scoop in the last 15 years of his career. B#tch holds a grudge better than X.)

* US says that even though Angie hinted in the GMA interview in Dec that an adoption was pending, she spoke in general terms about deciding which country and balancing the children’s races within the family, but she amy actually have become acquainted with her future adoptee during their Nov. visit to the Tam Binh orphanage. (Sidebar: No sh#t Sherlock?) According to a worker at the orphanage, “The couple passed out toys to the orphans, who were very ahppy and responsive.” (Sidebar: Kid who were happy to get toys? Now there’s something unusual.)

* Us wonders if they paid particular attention to any one child, but their source says, “They played with ALL the kids.” US speculates, however, that Angie may have met with the child away from the orphanage when she was in VN on Jan. 18-19. (Sidebar: It’s absolutely killing Janice Min that nobody will give her the specifics about this kid! Will she sulk for the remainder of the article? Time will tell…)

* According to US Angie & Brad aren’t the only ones excited about the adoption - Jane and Bill Pitt are “already lining up to babysit”. A friend for their’s, Bob Bilyeu, says, “They’re more proud of their grandchildren than they are their own children.” US also mentions that the Pitts recently went to NO to help Brad with the kiddies while Angie was in Chad. Their friend goes on to say, “I always ask how the grandkids are and they say, ‘We just got another one!’ or ‘They’re doing great!’” (Sidebar: Janice ALMOST redeems herself for Dig #3)

* US goes on to say that the Pitts are enjoying their “role” as grandparent and played tourist on Feb 27 by taking the kids - US says all 3 kids and both Pitts were there - on a 1 hour carriage ride arond NO. According to the carriage driver, Charles Duffy, the rocking of the carriage put Shiloh to sleep almost immediately and she slept the ride away in Jane’s arms. The only bad thing about the carriage ride is that Mad is allergic to horses and spent most of the ride rubbing his itchy eyes. Mad apparently told Jane that he had the same reaction in India when he went riding there and Jane distracted him by telling him that since they were being pulled by a mule, which is only half horse, only one eye should itch. (Sidebar: Awww…are the Pitts too cute or what? I’m giving US the benefit of the doubt on any parts of the story where they’re naming the soure as opposed to calling them “an insider,” “pal,” “close friend,” etc.)

* US says there’s no doubt that Brad and Angie - who are very hands-on parents - will “expertly handle” kid #4. They quote Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu as saying, “Brad and Angelina are very down-to-earth people. It is great they are adopting more kids…They are doing what they need to do.” (Sidebar: Not sure why they included this quote…unless they just want to prove that foreigners aren’t up to speed on which American mags they should or should not willingly speak to. Brad, dude…call Alejandro with the 411!)

* Still in warm-and-fuzzy mode, US says that Brad and Angie never let work get in the way of family - case in point, Brad brought Shiloh to the CCOBB set. Brad took Shiloh around to meet the local kids and a witness said, “He dotes on all of his kids. He’s great with the - patient and clam. He was made to be a dad.” (sidebar: Awww…oh, wait…I’m not supposed to believe any quotes where the source is unnamed…ah, what the hell….awwwwww…that’s so sweet! Ya hear that X…the man was “made to be a dad”!…just, thankfully, not of non-existent YOUR kids.)

* Sidebar: How will Mad Feel? US says that another new sib is a lot for Mad to handle. In his 5 1/2 years he’s gone from being an orphan, an only child, having a new dad, 2 sisters and soon a new brother. Time to trot out the expert shrink, who says, “Maddox might be thrilled to have a playmate and a pal or he may feel as though he’s being dethroned as a prince.” Us says that adopting an older child “may bring aggressive, competitive personality” into the mix. The expert’s solution, “Let him know that he’s still going to be loved and now he has someone else to play with.” (Sidebar: That’s right…take it down to a level that a kid can understand…don’t look at it as someone who’s taking Mommy and Daddy’s love away…look at it as…you have someone else you can boss around! God knows that’s certainly how my 5 older sibling treated me!)

* Sidebar: How is Jen Coping? (Sidebar of my own: Who GAFF?)

* Unrelated Sidebar: Brad’s Next Movie A Bust? US is the second tab this week to print this story about the Feb 26 test screening for AOJJ. They say that 24 people walked out of the movie, so I guess this means the person OuttaTouch hired to count the exiters needs a refresher in basic math. According to an insider (they don’t say what the person is inside of), “When people hear it’s about Jesse James, they’re expecting an outlaw movie with shoot-outs, gunfights and horse chases. But this is a psychological profile of a character, and they were bored.” A second source close to the films says, “It’s not a typical western. It’s an art movie. Brad was really happy with the crowd’s reaction.” (Sidebar: This is the reaction you get when you recruit a crowd of movie goers waiting to get into Norbit. Next time…approach the folks waiting to see “Babel”.)

* Unrelated Sidebar: Reality Show Nightmare. According to US maybe one of the reason for the relocation to NO is that A&E is filming a “Flip This House” at a house that overlooks Brad’s Los Feliz compound. (Sidebar of my own: Uh…did they miss the part where Brad was in NO to make a movie?) Brad’s talky neighbor says, “Brangelina’s security have angrily warned show producers not to shoot the house. This is a big note of tension in the neighborhood.” (Sidebar of my own: Why? You don’t live in Brad’s house, so why are you upset that he doesn’t want it being filmed?) Us goes on to say that the show’s producers distributed release forms to anyone who may appear on camera, but their source says, “Jolie and Pitt’s security team is asking neighbors not to participate in the show as well as trying to halt production.” (Sidebar: Let’s see…Brad’s trying to prevent a TV show from unnecessarily filming his house and family of small children, who everybody and their dog wants a piece of? Go Brad. It’s about danged time.)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith @ 03/11/2007 at 5:33 pm

Thanks so much PT, I’ve been waiting for this since yesterday.

From Today’s Perez:

Amidst rumors of turmoil in their marriage, Courteney Cox and David Aqruette put on a brave face at the premiere of the new FX show The Riches, Saturday in Los Angeles.

Our body language expert, Dr. Perezian, stopped by The Office* this morning and he would not shut up about these two!

“Look at them,” says Dr. P. “Something is going on there and it’s not good! They’re both actors, yet they’re doing a lousy job of trying to seem ‘happy’ together. Their lips are pursed and their smiles are fake. David is taking the aggressive role, trying to lead Courteney, but she’s disinterested. Their bodies are not in sync. They’re angled at each other, very aggressively.”

Oh well. If they break up, at least Maniston will be a shoulder to cry on and a big chin to wipe the tears away with!

*The Office = The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Sunset and Fairfax in West Hollywood.

Pretty soon everybody will see that these tabloid, Star, In Touch, Life ‘n Style, and the National Enquirer are just making up sh*t.
These rags print the most ridiculous lies about Angie. Here is the latest trash by Star magazine:”BRAD’S SECRET LOVE NOTE TO JEN!” PLUS Brad’s hot kiss with a sexy red head. (Of course they failed to say, it is in his movie).
They they go on on the inside of the mag with the most ricdiculous lies.

People should stop buying all that ****. I refuse to spend a penny on that made up slanderous, libelous ****.

306 Alexanderina

yeah, they mentioned them because they have a vietnam program so i got to learn a little bit about what that process is like as well. even though there are reports out that brad & angie are being “fast-tracked”, i think it’s accurate to assume that they started this process shortly after shiloh was born.

In honor of the Tab Report - Thanks PT- Great job
Add one more baby, along with Shiloh, who may be making their close-ups on The Benjamin Button Movie. Cute story below:

http://www.lobservateur.com/articles/2007/02/28/news/news01.txt

LaPlace newborn makes screen debut in Brad Pitt movie
Baby to appear in new movie shot in LaPlace and New Orleans
By KEVIN CHIRI
Editor and Publisher
LAPLACE - Amy Weber of LaPlace learned long ago that being an extra in a movie is not the glamorous thing that many people want to make a career of.
“I was an extra long ago in a movie and decided then that I didn’t ever want to do it again, since you spend a lot of time waiting and waiting, and you don’t really get much money for it,” she said.
But when the opportunity came up recently for her newborn baby Lily to be in a movie alongside Brad Pitt, Weber changed her mind.
“This was more of a once in a lifetime thing so I am glad we went through with it,” she said.
Lily, the seven-week-old daughter of Matt and Amy Weber, was selected by Paramount Pictures to play a newborn baby in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” a $150 million production that has taken place largely in New Orleans, LaPlace and Mandeville.
Lily had her on-screen debut last week at a soundstage in Harahan, where mom spent much of the day there waiting for her short scene.
Along with Pitt, the movie stars Cate Blanchett and is the story of a 50-year-old man (Pitt) who begins to age backwards, and falls in love with a 30-year-old woman.
Amy said that she heard about the possibility to be in the movie from her OB-GYN office here in LaPlace, since the production company had apparently contacted local offices looking for a newborn baby.
She went to a casting office where pictures and video were taken of Lily, then a week later, Amy was called to say they wanted to use Lily in the film.
“They actually had three babies there for the scene, but one of them screamed the whole time and didn’t work, and Lily seemed to be the best, so hopefully she will survive all the editing and make it into the movie,” she said.
The day of shooting, she was called at 2 in the afternoon and told to be at the soundstage in Harahan at 4.
“They didn’t start filming until eight, and we didn’t get home until midnight, but Lily was good and I thought she did fine,” Amy said.
She said the best thing about the shoot, besides getting to meet Pitt and Blanchett was “getting fed steak and lobster while we waited,” she said.
The pay for such a part is only $125, but Amy said the chance to be in the movie, and meet the stars, was all worth it.
“We met Brad and gave him Lily to hold, and it was funny when I walked onto the soundstage later and he was standing there with his finger in her mouth trying to keep her calmed down. He seemed kind of embarrassed and apologized for it, but I told him it was fine,” Amy said. “He was very nice to us and told us Lily was beautiful.”
The scene for Lily was a point where Cate has a baby and Brad comes into the room.
“It was funny to see how they used cream cheese, strawberry jam and baby oil to put on Lily so she looked like she had just been born. It was a scene where Cate had gone into labor since she had an accident falling down the stairs,” she remarked.
The movie is scheduled for May, 2008 release.
Amy is a former nurse who is now a homemaker after having her third child in Lily with husband Matt, a DuPont employee and St. Charles Catholic grad.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Thank you for this info. I am researching Darfur and its history more now. I am very interested in the history that precedes this awful misery. Thanks for the info.

I was saying to the previous poster that sometimes it is good to send troops to relieve human suffering like we did in WWII Germany. Imagine not sending troops to Germany - to what number would the 6 million dead Jews have gotten? I want my troops to save the little boy above instead of finding Saddam Hussein.

That’s just me.

Ok, I am done. It is a lovely Los Angeles day and I am going for my walk and going to count all the things I should be grateful for.

Angelina: you’re an inspiration!

PT: Thanks for the laughs. Once again, your recap never fails to make me giggle. You have alot of talent for ripping these tabs apart…After reading this part, I am wondering about buying stock in General Mills:

* US speculates that the biggest reason for the kids’ demeanor is their new sibling - a 4 year old boy. (Sidebar: Janice…please. Those two kids are too young to understand their getting a sibling until the kid is in the house everyday…and Z realizes she has to share the Cheerios with someone other than Shiloh. Sh#t is gonna hit the fan when that happens.)

Very funny. Yesterday when I went grocery shopping, I looked through them briefly and from that point on, was looking forward to your take on them. The one thing I was glad to see was that they didn’t fit a photo of the X on any of the covers with B&A.

Guli - my Buckeyed friend…Congratulations on being the #1 seed and going to Lexington. Since I can not root for MSU, I will root for OSU for you. Like I said, if we can’t win, you might as well. Hope you had the sunshine that we did today..quite a nice change. We can talk brackets later in the week if you’d like. Maybe we can have a “pick the final four” game and see who gets the most right. What do you think?

Dirty Denise - Didn’t win anything in the card game. Just a friendly game of euchre every couple of months with some neighbors that we otherwise don’t see much of during the winter months.

Greetings on this Sunday evening…watching the Amazing Race and rooting for the Beauty Queens.

Nah…I think I’m gonna have to give that to the US this week. They did a pretty good job and Janice Min was able to contain herself to 3 little digs at Brad & Angie. Although, truthfully, that $2MIL upon receipt of the child vs. the $125 fee bit was just ridiculous. The international adoption agencies fees can run up to $30,000, so if Angie chooses to give the orphanage some money…better it go directly to help the kids that aren’t adopted than to line the pockets of the adoption officials. But, they wouldn’t want to say that because it make it seem like Angie is buying a child. Equally stupid is the fact that Angie qualifies for adoption, she’s going to get a child regardless of whether or not she donates money afterwards.

It’s early yet in the adoption, so I’m sure the tabs will get to them sooner rather than later!

Hey everyone! PT laughed myself silly again! You are amazing! Thanks!

guli(Charlie) sorry I was MIA last night, had a big birthday brunch for my Dad today.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday! Angie never ceases to amaze me. I think the photos of her holding the children, traumatized children and they just melt into her says it all.

Question-
In some countries you do not get to pick out the child you want to adopt like with AJ and Mad. She even said that she and Brad were presented with a picture of Z and another child and she chose Z. So my question or thought is, are they just specifying the sex and age group they would like a child to be from or did they actually meet a child? My feeling is it is a request.

Passing Through- I forgot my manners. Thank you for another great update. I really look forward to it every week. :)

Hiya Susie! People Mag is saying they asked for a boy between the ages of 3 and 5. So I guess it’s more of a general request. How was your day?

Sheri- that ’s what I thought but some tabs are trying to act like they have the child all picked out. Day was good, way too friggen hot though, even now.

when you adopt internationally, complete your paperwork and are accepted by the country you’ve chosen, you are given a referral–either a picture of a child you’ve been matched with according to your specifications or, an invitation to visit the child in the orphanage. the adoptive parents can accept or refuse the referral.

My prayers are with the people in Darfur/Chad. You’d think that after the Rwanda mess just over ten years ago would teach people to act more effectively to genocides like this. Lots of props to people who are going out there and helping the refugees. Angelina’s doing a very good thing being there, but so are all the other “ordinary” people who are helping out in Sudan. I praise Jolie for her efforts, but we’ve got to remember she’s not the only one.

Susie don’t talk about too hot! We got to 45 today and thought we had a heat wave!LOL They may have met with a group of children and the newest Jolie-Pitt will come from that group.

Thanks gitane. Angie has been in the process for some months now and the Vietnamese officials have said that the adoption will take three months because she have picked the child and according to their law if you chose the child the process is taking less time to be completed. We can’t say if she had a meeting with her soon to be second son or she and Brad picked him from a picture. Maybe she did both

awww..that’s sweet.

well, we know they were in vietnam and they’ve made it a custom to visit orphanages. it’s highly possible that they filed the paperwork with a particular child in mind or, that their trip to vietnam served as an opportunity to meet the children while the adoption was in progress.
