Here are some of the highlight’s from Angelina Jolie’s recent trip to a camp housing Darfur refugees in Chad via Newsweek:
…But you do have photographers following you now. It took me a while to agree to do it. I guess I saw that so many times the picture comes before the knowledge and the substance and I certainly didn’t want to do that to myself or the organization. And also, I really just was shy. I was shy about sitting on the floor and talking to a woman and having a camera take a picture because I thought it was making less of my conversation with her. But… I was changed by the faces of the people I saw. “It is something that I am incapable of describing…those faces and that place and those people. And so I think it’s just—let the people speak for themselves through the camera. And if I can draw you in a little because I’m familiar, then that’s great. Because I know that at the end you’re not looking at me, you’re looking at them.
Do you still go with so few people? I can’t believe you take no one with you… I take no one. I [go] by myself on a commercial plane and into the field with my backpack.
You still do that? Yes, I just did that on my last trip. I met the photographer there.
In the camp? No, in the airport. We didn’t even realize we were on the same flight. We landed at like midnight and got up at like 5 in the morning to catch the WFP [World Food Program] plane [to a town near the camp].
People will look at these pictures of you in Chad and ask, “What can I do?” What should they do? There are great NGOs like SOS [Austria's SOS Kinderdorp] and there are great NGOs inside and under the U.N. that you could send aid to. It’s important for the American people to know that a lot of people believe—I certainly believe—that it has been their outcry and their interest that has motivated our government. I think that the American people have paid attention to Darfur—a really amazing groundswell of people that really care, and are moved and emotional about the things they’ve seen when it is brought to their attention.

To be honest… Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow ONLY become famous because they were involve with Brad Pitt. But Angie in the other hand… She was already famous and a A-lister before she was with Brad.
Angie was the ONLY one that didn’t take advantage of Brad’s fame to became famous and this is also one of the reasons haters hate her!!

TABLOID ALERT!!!!!! “Brangelina Watchers”, “came as a shock” (it’s a shock that they even wanted a dog considering the children are still too small for one, fans did not know), Whay would fans assume they get preferential treatment? Shelter employee didn’t want to be identified? What’s the name of the animal shelter, hmmm? surely any shelter would welcome any publicity but this one has no name!
the children are still too small for a dog and I think Angelina even went on record and told Maddox so. since when do you put animals in baby strollers? LMAO this ENTIRE “article” is made up OK?
People are are always taking snipes at TomKat. Leave them alone. They are just living their lives, just like anybody else.
This dog adoption story is on a SATIRE BUS article. It is not true But i guess the haters do not know what satire means. For them anything bad article about Brad & Angelina are the facts. Gosh! I do not know whether to feel pity to these haters. They are running out of story to tell.

A very significant difference between the other really good people you named and Angelina is that she actually goes to the countries she is talking about , actually talks to the people , actually gets her hands dirty by working in the Millenium Villages or participating in building or loading trucks , or carrying children . How many of these other people do any of these things ? I don’t think Nicole Kidman has been to more than 2 countries and definitely not gotten dirty . The men you named have been working on this goal for the last 20-25 years . I think they are very admirable . All who decide to help the plight of the suffering are to be admired . But Angelina is definely in a special place . She is really unique .

If you really want to know what she has accomplished then you would have read that she is very active politically . She has been instrumental in getting a bill passed to help legally the immigrant children bought here , she has worked with politicians towards getting help medically , and economically for the people in these UNHCR countries , she has donted her money to build schools and orphanges and I’m sure I could go on and on .

To poster #84: Those that you mentioned above are way richer than Jolie. They’re BILLIONAIRES that you’re speaking of… Jolie is not a billionaire but worth some millions ONLY because she gives 1/3 of her income to charity and those in need. NOW when Oprah, Bill Gates, etc give 1/3 of their income away and time, I will be impressed!
I am a true fan of Angelina because she not only gives away $$$ but her precious time and energy for the less fortunate. Jolie is the true soul of a giver and one who loves children.

hAppy to hear from you! I know Sampaloc area. When I was in college we were renting room to this “Emelia Apartment”, were on the 9th floor, that was 1971 to 1975. We went grocery shopping at Sampaloc market. I think this market still there.
When I left the Phil 1983, that apartment was demolished. Last 2006 vacation we went to Sta Mesa Shoemart and St Jude.
I went to University of the East for Business Administration, then after graduation we live in Tondo. Too much siksikan in Divisoria. Marami pa rin ang mangdurokot at holdaper. Have you been to Tutuban shopping center? a lot of imported items from Honkong, USA & etc. I used to worked in Cubao, Quezon City near Araneta coliseum, it is now totally different, I will be lost if I don’t have my best friends, shopping centers are huge never seen that here in Missouri.

NEW ORLEANS - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have failed in their latest attempt to add to their rainbow family. The actor-activist couple learned yesterday that a New Orleans animal shelter had denied their request to adopt a three-month-old Labrador retriever puppy.
A shelter employee who did not wish to be identified provided answers to what went wrong.
Brad and Angie walked into a doggie shelter. They picked out a puppy. Angie named it spot. Angie said “run spot run”. Brad said it did not look like a “spot”. Angie gave Brad `the look`. Brad agreed it looked like a “Spot”.He had the look of a man who’s used to taking orders.”
During a supervised interaction period she held spot in her arms the entire time. .According to the shelter employee, the Jolie-Pitts’ adoption request was denied because they had failed to answer several items on the adoption questionnaire satisfactorily.
“We were concerned about the couple’s marital status, as we prefer to place puppies in more traditional intact homes, since it is common knowledge that once you tie the knot, well, there goes your sex life”. “And since we are all aware that Brad and Angie have hot passionate jungle sex, (the best ever for Brad) we would be sad at the thought of one of our puppies at the foot of the bed watching all of that”. Adding “We only give kittens to unmarried couples.”
Neither Mr. Pitt nor Ms. Jolie answered our requests for comments about the shelter worker’s statements.

I love the Santa Barbara pics!! And out of all of his chicks, Angie is the ONLY one that will ride with him on the ATV not on the back seat as she holds him… but Angie gets down and dirty with the boys!!

HANOI, Vietnam—- Angelina Jolie’s adoption application is being processed quickly and she could pick up her new 3 1/2-year-old son within a few weeks, Vietnam’s top adoption official said Tuesday.
Officials in Ho Chi Minh City are reviewing Jolie’s file and should complete their work by the end of the month at the latest, said Vu Duc Long, director of Vietnam’s International Adoption Department.
Jolie can pick up the child anytime after the application is approved, he said.
The child was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital as a baby and then taken to the nearby Tam Binh orphanage, where he has lived ever since, said Nguyen Van Trung, the orphanage director.
Shortly after he arrived at the orphanage, the Tam Binh staff tried unsuccessfully to locate the boy’s birth parents.
”He is in good health,” Trung said. ”He is a little bit shy.”
The boy gets along well with other children and loves to play soccer, Trung said.
The adoption is being processed quickly because the boy is an older child, and his files were nearly complete before Jolie decided to adopt, Trung said.
Jolie and Brad Pitt have three children: 5-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.
The pair made a surprise visit to the Tam Binh orphanage at Thanksgiving, when they were spotted cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.
