Sandra Oh: Marie Claire Magazine
Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh, aka. Dr. Cristina Yang, is the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of of Marie Claire Magazine. Sandra, in a strapless, flouncy Giambattista Valli Spring 2007 dress, was honored for the cover shoot this past Saturday in L.A.
Earlier today on Good Morning America, Sandra shared that the next plot twist for Yang involves a visiting doctor who vies for her affection: “The wonderful Roger Reeves has come in to the show as Dr. Colin Marlow, who is a fantastic cardiothoracic surgeon. He comes in as a rival of sorts. … You see that we had a past relationship. You’ll see how that unfolds, and how that might be a bit of [a] threat to what’s going on between Cristina and Burke.”

There are so many “fug” white actresses with a nary a hint of talent that are shoved down our throats every day without a peep from you lot…..oh lets see. Jennifer “the chin” Aniston, Kirsten “I am in dire need of a good wash” Dunst, the olsens….ewwwwww, Sandra Oh has more talent in her pinky that all of these so-called actresses combined. She is smart, brilliant and funny as hell. So why not the cover of Marie Claire or any of these fashion mags. Why thin white actresses are deemed beautiful on sight, whether or not their mug actually merits it is beyond me.
Well said Bussy!!
I appauld Marie Clarie for their bold choice! Sandra Oh is talented, and I have a lot of respect for her!
no!
Ain’t nobody dissing asian peoples cause they on the cover-that girl is jest ugly as hell and there is no plastic surgery that can help the sistah-If she and burke have a baby on that show everybody is just gonna throw up! Now I’m off to church to pray and sing and be the hypocrite that I am! Long live Asians-they are the only ones who can understand differential equations at the age of 6

Coming from an Asian who failed Trigonometry and spent Algebra class smoking pot cutting class, I don’t know which Asians you are talking about.
Intelligence has nothing to do with race.
Trust me, I was much happier getting it on with the cute Senior then memorizing Trig formulas.
And oh, Sandra Oh is fug. As any Asian with common sense and they’ll tell you even if they failed Trig and Algebra.
Peace. Koreans rule!
As any Asian and they’ll honestly tell you, Miss thing is F-U-G!
^^^^I meant ASK any Asian and they’ll tell you she’s fug.
See, I can’t spell either but I sure know she’s fug.
I’m appauled by some of these comments that you people are leaving. Sandra has a grogeous face with flawless skin and beautiful thick hair. And her beauty isn’t even the best part about Sandra Oh. It takes talent to play Cristina’s agressive character, yet Shondra plays the role perfectly. She has her own sense of style and has contined to do so even after numerous criticisms because she believes in who she is and doesn’t feel like she needs to change. I think Sandra is a great person to put on the cover of Marie Claire. She represents a real woman, that is not willing to change just because pressures of the industry may want her to. She’s talented, beautiful and intelligent.
PEOPLE GET OVER YOUR JEALOUSY.
christina yang is the only reason why i still watch greys anatomy….cause let’s be honest: meredith and izzy are sooooooooooooooooo annoying!!!
she rocks!!
plus she’s not ugly at all….excuse me….did you see the gorgeous bod????
and by the way thank god covers are not just for insanely beautiful girls!!
I do think the cover photo is a bit unfortunate and unflattering for her, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling her ugly - surely there are much uglier people, not only in general, but even in this industry. And fashion magazines have pulled off the “ugly” cover stunt before - I remember a while back the most terrible InStyle cover shot of the otherwise so beautiful Keira Knightley. So perhaps Sandra doesn’t have the facial features of the Roman Goddess of Love, but I still think she has a fascinating face.
haha you guys can hate all you want, but the lady is still making alot of money AND she’s a tv star…sit there and talk all this **** cuz ur ass wont be on tv anytime soon
I guess Marie-Claire didn’t mind a loss of sales for the month of April…really, who’s going to buy it with such an ugly face on the cover? Sandra Oh is the ugliest thing ever seen on TV. She’s so scary, ugly and repulsive it makes me throw up.
Why should Ellen Pompeo be on the cover of a magazine? Maybe to show the world how not to do a diet, or how not to go around looking. Sandra is absolutely gorgeous. Just because she isn’t a blond white lady doesn’t mean she should be shunned from society. I’m not being racist- I think all ethnic backgrounds can be beautiful, and I encourage diversity. I’m just saying that Ellen Pompeo would be a serious downgrade from Sandra Oh. Ellen looks like she has a hot poker sticking up her ass all day while she’s gagging on a lemon. Get real.
She is hideous, and this has nothing to do with her race. How dare Marie-Claire inflict this horrific face on us?
The photo of Sandra on the Marie Claire cover is truly hirrible. A true injustice because Sandra Oh is far more interesting looking than she is shown here. What was the editor art director thinking??
Hi Sanadr think ur awsome ur the best actress ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM ur #1 fan HOOT HOTT WOOT WOOT
I don’t why it’s not obvious to the other Asians on this thread but Sandra’s casting is to disempower east Asians as being both attractive and intelligent. You see, it’s quite ok to portray white, western European women as having it all, but not Asians.
Here’s some food for thought on the topic…
If these shows got the finest looking “caucasoid” women from eastern European, the middle east, and central Asia together, most people wouldn’t be paying attention to the likes of a Sarah Jessica Parker. Instead, they’d floored by Persian eyes, Slavic cheekbones, etc, etc. You see, there’s a lot of beauty in the world, even among so-called whites but Hollywood is keeping a damper on it because they’re trying to show Angelina Jolie as the solo Yankee-Slavic beauty, Sarah Jessica as the mainstream American look, and Sandra Bullock/Julia Roberts as the typical standard of attractiveness to the west.
There are tons of attractive Asians out there and I’m sure many of them could probably star in a serious American TV drama w/o being a cartoonish stereotype of a Geisha girl. The problem is that Hollywood doesn’t want to break the mold.
She looks HAPPY on the cover of Marie Claire, she looks real, she looks natural. It might not be her best picture, she might not be a typical beauty but NO ONE can call this woman ugly.
Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but ugly? That is such a harsh word. And she has normal facial features! She has a nice body, she has nice hair? Her face is not asymmetrical, she does not have facial hair, scars, bad skin, an unhamonius face. She looks just normal! What exactly is the ugly part? Please tell me. If she is ugly, a normal looking, happy, asian woman, then probably the majority of those posting this crap are “ugly” too.
Even if she WAS ugly, completely, utterly ugly, even if she was completely horrifying to look at - does that justify bashing her? I don’t think so.
SANDRA OH IS BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED! I THINK YOU ARE THE ONE HERE WHO’S “way beyond fug” amara #4. Honestly. Saying something like that when there are true Sandra Oh and Grey’s Anatomy fans roaming the site like me is just plain stupid. Maybe instead of putting your time into teasing someone because of their appearance you can put some effort into growing yourself a better functioning brain and getting a life. She is funny, amazing, beautiful, strong, and talented. I think all you haters out there are jealous. Peace.
She’s one of the ugliest. Seriously PPL!!! Everytime I look at her dam face I get the worst diarrhea pains. Seriously!!!!!!
I love her hair. I wish mine was like that. Sigh…
