Anyway, I’m watching The View and they mentioned the adoption Rosie said that psychologists say that it interrupts the birth order when adopting a child older than your youngest. She talked about her own experience with a foster child she had. Oh and she called Zahara “Baby Zee” which I thought was cute. I believe she was going to say that it’s fantastic that they were adopting again but she was interrupted by Joy asking about her foster child.

It should be a good show Roseanne is on and well, her and Rosie…have a little feud lol

Hi Guli, I think they will probably keep his Vietnamese name because kids are used to their name from a very yound age, like 6 months. AJ will probably give him a french middle name though, IMO. I still think it’s a little weird that “officials” are alowwed to talk to press about an adoption and it’s status. Doesn’t seem right to me.

Well, if he’s 3 to 4 years old, they are probably going to keep at least his first name. But Maddox had a name picked up, hadn’t he? Sharkboy, maybe?

Probably not the first name, though. Just found out that in Vietnam the family name is positioned first, than a middle (intercalary) name and at the end a given name. So if the child is already used to his given name, B&A could keep it as an American first name, then add Maddox’s choice and finally Jolie-Pitt (after Brad adopts the kid in the States).

Sad sad news, Coalharbor’s dad passed away on saturday. She said it was ok to share so that is why I’m posting it.

This is such wonderful news, and I’m totally happy for them.

I must say, the orphanage official in Vietnam appears to be giving out way too much information. Reminds me of that hotel in India where they had stayed, they gave out their room number, floor, what they ate, when they exercised, etc. I guess information is easy to divulge for the right price.

This makes me sick. I have a good friend that adopted a foreign child and it took her and her husband a year and a HALF to finally get their son. Ridiculous!

IA. That bothers me it is as if the other kids are not his children and that is so far from the truth. I don’t even know why people feel the need to split the difference by saying adopted children versus a biological one with Brad. I see what Angie means by being protective of Mad and Z in a different way. The way a lot of mags write it is as if they are not his and that makes their job more difficult to constantly re-enforce that they are all loved equally.

How old was the child your friends adopted becaus ethat does make a difference? From what I understand in the People mag article Angie and Brad decided on this shortly after Shilo was born. So, the process didn’t just start when the mags found out about it, it had been an on-going process for months.

Amaya, I caught that Bill Maher w/ Mia Farrow and I loved her whole interview, very informative about the Sudan and Darfur - and really liked the end and what she said about Angie that you talked about - how she admired her so much, and that she was doing great things, and Bill echoed this as well. The cute part was when Bill asked her something like how she feels about Angie’s adoptions or if she feels like she’s in competition (jokingly)…and she said something cute about “Brad Pitt” - but Bill was talking over her so I missed it (Grrrr - thanks Bill, lol)…and then Mia said, “well maybe when she has her 9th child, I’ll start to feel more competitive.” The audience all laughed.

Switching gears….

I recently watched Seven again, the DVD two disc that came out in 2000-2001 I think. It is so true that in the midst of his Maniston marriage he was still bitter and angry about Paltry - because during the commentary with David Fincher when Brad’s scenes with Paltrow were on, neither he nor David said boo about the scene being shown with her, or commented on her period. Brad never said one word the entire film. I noticed David almost talked the entire way through Paltry’s scenes about other subject matter - it really felt deliberate too. That’s the kind of stuff, where if Maniston had not been a coattail riding witch who stabbed Brad and Ange in the back…I might feel a little sorry for her that she married a guy while he was so obviously on the rebound….

…but I don’t.

This is great! We’ll all have to get crafty to come up with a new/revision to the moniker for our beloved BAMZS.

There is just nothing better than seeing Brad surrounded by a huge bunch of kids, you can tell he’s loving every minute of it. I just love Angie for making his dreams of a family come true and I think her relationship with him has brought her great peace and stability. Since I can’t have him, well I’m glad it’s her he’s making his life with.

I just only wish that they would get married and make it official and do it with all their little babies surrounding them. That would be perfect.

If what I read was true, the kid’s name has already been chosen by his brother Maddox sometime ago. I recall that Angie was saying something about it that she even asked Brad if they would call the next kid with the name which was chosen by Maddox.

I wonder which name was chosen by Maddox.

At the same time, if the kid is 3-4 years old, is it fine to change his name? He should know what his name is already. The Jolie-Pitts might keep his name and add other name as a second name. Who knows?

PLEASE LET’S STOP COMPARING BRAD’S LIFE WITH ANGIE TO HIS LIFE WITH JEN. If we continue mentioning Jen’s name in every single thread, how do we expect the haters not to mention her name on the threads of the Jolie-Pitts? We are the ones who should start doing things before asking the others not to do.

Brad had his life with the other women in the past; it’s his life, his wrongs and his rights. Nobody forced him to do things by force. He took his lessons from his mistakes which he did in his past. Now, he has been sharing his life with Angie and their kids. I can’t see any point to keep on mentioning and comparing his present life to his past.

By the way, when I said Brad didn’t say one word the whole film (Seven) on the commentary - I meant he didn’t say one word about Paltry. Sorry for the confusion. He talked all through it with David Fincher, about the film itself and working with Morgan. He was pretty funny at times.

I have to agree with whoever likes to talk about Brad’s voice…it is amazing. When comparing it to say David’s and the other voices…it’s so deep, and he’s just got his own way of phrasing and speaking. Also for the first time, I really think Shiloh had Brad’s lips even more than Angie’s. There was a shot of Brad sitting in the back of the squad car at the end of the film, and it is totally Shi’s mouth. LOL Brad doesn’t get enough cred for his juicy lips, poor baby.

By the way, Brad convinced them to go with the ending that was shown - they were set to have Morgan kill Spacey’s John Doe! To essentially fall on the sword for Mills, since he was set to retire and Mills had his whole life and career ahead of him. They listend to Brad. Good thing too, as that would have been a big mistake. He also convinced the producers/studio to do whatever it took to land Spacey for the serial killer. See, even way back when — Brad was showing his movie making/producing chops…he is FIERCE baby.

I am from the third world (Uganda) too. There have been many UN ambassadors, they come and go (usually of course they change nothing). Angelina approached the UN to be an ambassador at the time when her life was in crisis. So believe it or not, this is all to cultivate a new image. And whereas charity is good, I believe her involvement in the third world problems trivialises them and makes the people who matter escape while the spot light is on her. What changes in Darur when she hugs a child? Does the government start paying more attention? No one has any illusions that the Sudanese government can actually listen to Angelina Jolie (I mean come on be realistic, even if an official met her, he would be thinking of how quick he can get her into bed). I know I may sound ungrateful but please tell me, which country has changed ever since she visited it? Her intentions may be good. But her image and personal life is like a red herring that draws away attention from the real issues. May be people would take her more seriously if there were less cameras and she had nothing to gain like Publicty. I too was disappointed in how she used the Namibian government like than.

Has Namibia changed an Iota ever since? I personally think the press and public should give it a rest on how many kids they have (be it by adoption, bio or both). They both have repeatedly said they want a soccer team, and/or 7 kids, i.e., a LOT…so until they get to at least THAT number, they should give it a rest with the ‘expert’ opinions, snide remarks, or polls…one of those dumb rags even had a poll on the first page (I think it was In Touch) - ‘Will 4 kids be too much for Brad and Angelina to handle?’ The dummies responded with like 80% yes 20% no. Yeah, exactly - who ARE these people?! Not only are they movie stars with time, money and resources - they love kids….and they also are not making 10 bucks an hr on an assembly line working 12 hours a day.

You seem to have left out a few lines in between the two paragraphs where she said after they realized it was more than they allowed themselves to believe they talked about it and she went her way and he his. She was content on being a single mother to her son, she wished him well. It was after he seperated that your second paragraphs picks back up that they they contemplated rather they should take a shot at a relationship, at being a couple. But I’m sure you left that out intentially.

Thank goodness, there are still some of us…Africans and Non Africans who haven’t built an immune system to suffering and death.

Oh and the idea that everything is should be immediately fine because she visited the place is quite frankly….a little foolish. It’s taken years and years for the situation to become what it is and you expect it to be erased in a moment? Seriously?!!!

Celebrities Help in Darfur, Sudan Celebrity Activist Response to Crisis

May 1, 2006 in Washington, thousands of demonstrators joined celebrities and lawmakers at rally to push the U.S. government to stop the genocide in Sudan’s Darfur region. A crowd chanted “Not on our watch” at the National Mall. Speakers such as Actor George Clooney, Senator Barack Obama, House Democratic Leader of California Nancy Pelosi, Nobel Peace Prize Elie Wiesel, Olympic Skater Joey Cheek.

Celebrities are called to contribute a helping hand in Darfur, Sudan against atrocities that are happening to the Sudanese people, such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney are activist in the campaign for saving Darfur. Celebrities willing to risk their lives and time for their beliefs and humanitarian needs seem to be the only priority in this matter. It’s not just about being a big star or making a million dollar budget movie. But for once thinking about others and the world we live in where any danger is possible.

Angelina’s Activism
Actress Angelina Jolie who is in progress of having her baby has gone to places like Sudan, Sierra Leone, and attended a refugee camp in Pakistan that are in devastation. As part of her job as being a goodwill ambassador. For almost an 20 long hour plane ride on a private jet, Angelina accompanied by her companion Brad Pitt and two children Maddox and Zahara. Jolie was no beauty queen, when having to wear a dress with a head cover, a pair of mountain boots for mountain climbing and having to share a tent with other aide workers. But the star manages to beautify herself when she gets a chance from working out in the fields.

Jolie has stepped up to campaign to save lives for the people of Darfur by advertising in USA Today explaining the past killings of 400,000 civilians by the Sudanese government. “The situation in Darfur has been going on for too long. It’s only getting worse. Reports are pouring in about mass atrocities including children getting raped and killed. If people are aware of the facts, I believe many will be driven to action” says Jolie. She asks those interested in the campaign to visit the web site http://www.genocideintervention.net.

Bono’s Work For Africa
Visiting Ghana, West Africa where people are dying of disease and poverty. Rock star Bono is using his humanitarian efforts is determined to help the African people for a good cause. He has spoken in press conferences and has asked the wealthy to pledge their support. The 46 year old rock star of the group U2 has always played a part in activism in Africa. Since performing on Live Aid concert in 1985. He’s not only just a rock star but like an hero to the people of Africa. He is indeed founder, spokesman, and chief benefactor of DATA, a nonprofit debt-relief advocacy group. One of DATA’s goals is to reduce African debt allowing more money to mend health care and education.

Bono has spoken to the Senate Appropriations Committee about international AIDS funding in 2004. But unlikely would have not received funding from Treasury Secretary Paul O’ Neil who had refused to meet with the rock star but after a scheduled half-hour session, the secretary had a change of mind. “He’s a serious person. He cares deeply about these issues, and you know what? He knows a lot about them.” says Treasury Secretary.

Despite of their differences the two convince each other on finding ways to best help Africa’s poorest nations. Bono’s quest is to continue lobbying the united states to help the world’s poorest country. Probably is next to be an ambassador who strives the will for hopeful and understanding for the world to see with their own eyes and to seek Bush’s promise of a $10 billion dollar increase in foreign aid. As a rock star and humanitarian, Bono puts aside his rock star lifestyle and perhaps he can teach younger generations and they can learn from him.

“If people are brave and bold enough to begin a new relationship with improvised nations, there will be popular support” says Bono.

Clooney Goes to Washington
George Clooney witnessed the violence in Darfur and has become a powerful activist and voice in Washington to end the genocide in Darfur, and was on a long trip traveling with his father and journalist, Nick Clooney. Having returned from a week in southern Sudan and eastern Chad where they met with dozens of individuals who fled the brutal and conflicted region to seek refuge and also having seen the atrocities of 2.5 million people. They teamed up with the IRC (International Rescue Committee) that provide mobile medical services for communities struggling to recover for more than 20 years of civil war between the North and South.

Clooney went to Washington lobbying for more U.S. aid to end the violence against Arab milita. He has parted with senators, politicians, celebs, and journalist to join him in the campaign and demanded a rally at the National Mall, where 75,000 people showed up and where Clooney voiced his beliefs. “If we turn our heads and look away and hope that it will all disappear, then they will - all of them, an entire generation of people. And we will have only history left to judge us” says Clooney at Washington rally.

The conflict in Darfur has witnessed some of the worst human rights abuse such as systematic, ethnic cleansing, murder, rape, torture, and enslavement. There were reportedly about two million people who were driven from their homes and having to face starvation and disease. The Sudanese government and Arab militas are preventing humanitarian aid to reach the Sudanese people. Not only that but village crops haven been destroyed and water contaminated with poison.

Darfur’s history for almost three years of Arab milita killing around 300,000 Africans and millions left homeless in a remote dessert region in Western Sudan. George Clooney and his father urge that more activist and Americans donate money for refugees and petition the White House to increase funds to international peace keepers at savedarfur.org. “I must say George Clooney by the looks of his pictures in PEOPLE magazine, has the possibility to be a politician in office. Whether it be a representative or Senator himself.”
To stop these genocide’s we must be aware of the actions that go on in our world by becoming an activist in our very own way. Star power is impacting lives to bring hope and peace and to embrace individuals. They too are advocating support and for you to join them in the fight against injustice, poverty, and sickness and just like anyone wants to see a world a better place.

But just for the sake of argument, ‘Keeping it Jealous’ needs to understand that “the shoot,” on Mr. & Mrs. Smith was STILL GOING ON long AFTER their ‘official’ separation in January ‘05 (they were unofficially DONE according to Maniston’s own words Summer of ‘04), and more importantly, the shoot continued on AFTER she filed for divorce in March ‘05. The closing ‘therapy session,’ was said to have been rushed wet to the premiere (the premiere was in June of 2005). So when Angelina says ‘later in the shoot’ - she is referring to a time when Brad and Maniston were already toast - and burnt toast at that (officially separated and divorce papers filed).

‘Keeping it Jealous’ just likes to play the semantics game — she knows damn well, that after a couple officially separates and files for divorce they are considered single people, and live as such.

Our world today is beset by many harsh realities- the Iraq war, genocide in Darfur, the neverending Israel-Palestine conflict, AIDS, poverty, tribal atrocities to name a few. What Angie and Brad are trying to do in their own “little” and humble way is to help in any way they can. They increase awareness that would pave the way to solutions. To some who can’t let go of the past and are so narrow minded, please don’t stand in judgement to people who are making a difference in this world.
To Brad and Angie, I wish them the best as they welcome their new son to their growing family. I can only see good things happening to them, their kindness, their love for family, their commitment and devotion to each other will defy any backlash and prejudice by some.

It bugs me how the Maniston fans treat this as if they’re the only couple who commited adultery, if they really did….There are dozens of celeb couples out their in the media that have the same story, yet they never get bashed because of it. hey guli - I’m all geared up for the 17th. I can’t remember what it is we’re celebrating, so I’ll just assume it’s life, health and BAMZS+1!

When I consider the scale of the suffering taking place in some countries I understand the Uganda woman’s cry for something to be done urgently by countries, and be impatient with Angelina’s individual efforts. Individual efforts can seem insignificant, like a drop in the ocean.

Angelina cannot single-handedly stop the suffering and war in the world. One point she has consistently raised is that she believes in the generosity and goodness of the American public - it’s their level of awareness that is in question.

Unfortunately, the media is very shallow in its content and also falls short of educating the public on the background of many of these conflicts. Even tragedies such as in New Orleans quickly become passe. As Katrina has shown, governments aren’t always aware of what’s going on in their own countries let alone suffering in the third world.

So Angelina’s efforts cannot be discounted or trivialized. She is playing a key role in making more people aware of going on and therefore more people who are willing to act. She may not be the only one doing this but since she has become the most sought after media subject she is the most effective in reaching the largest numbers of people.

Considering the fact that she could be having a pink and white mani/pedi (as stated earlier) I’d say she’s doing the world an immense service.

I recall watching an entertainment show, either on VH1 or E!, and they showed a clip of JLo and Chris Judd together on the red carpet. Affleck, who was standing nearby, paid somebody to give JLo a bouquet of flowers in front of everyone, including the paps and her husband. JLo knew who they were from and didn’t hide her bliss in receiving them.

There are only two issue I have with Brad. He never shows his emotions or PDA for Angie. He always talks about his kids instead. As an Angie fan, and neutral Brad fan (As I’ve mentioned I only like him because he’s with Angie), I just find it frustrating that he rarely speaks for his emotions about Angie. All we ever hear is, She’s a great actress..good egg..and i like what she does with her UN work.. That’s all.

I agree with you, somewhat. It wasn’t like Brad had to pull a ‘Prince Edward’. But you do have to agree that he did incur some wrath for being with Angelina; before, he pretty much flew under the radar, which, in the princesses’ minds, was a gift offered to him for fulfilling an obligation to them.

I do take exception (and this isn’t directed at you, sophie) with Angelina fans who are of the mind that Brad needs to publicly proclaim his intentions/feelings toward Angelina. If this is necessary, assuming that Angelina’s quality of life would be in jeopardy if that doesn’t happen, why not hold her to the same standards?

For example, where was the demand, from Angelina fans, for Angelina to publicly declare that the reason why she wouldn’t marry Brad had nothing to do with her desire for an open marriage? Yes, it was a rumor, and it dated back to last summer, but some could see her lack of response as an indictment toward her commitment to Brad. I don’t because the concept is so ridiculous that it doesn’t warrant one, just as claiming that Brad doesn’t love Angelina enough or at all.

I am totally in agreement that sometimes for whatever reason, relationships do not work out, and divorce is the only sane option. And, I am a huge AJ & BP fan, theri movies, leir life, etc. Having said that, I do think that ntt says statement is a bit….out of this world: “The man risked his whole career to be with her. You know, you don’t just say “gee, press is bad” or “gosh we were shafted at the Globes” I’m gonna take off for VietNam or another UN refugee project and go. These things are planned months in advance. Go to the UNHCR site and check it out. (BTW if you don’t know how to find it–type UNHCR into google –that http://www.google.com in case you can’t figure it out and see what comes up). Angelina has done over 70 events since she began her association with them. Compare that to the other ambassadors who have done at the most 12-14 events. I hardly think AJ would subject herself to the suffering one sees at refugee camps like the ones in Chad, Somalia etc. to feed their addiction.
And even if it were true–she would still be doing good by bring attention to the plight of the refugees. BUT read her book Notes from my Travels (go to Amazon.com–can you figure out how?). She wrote from the heart. She truly wants to help, to make a difference.
So what do you both care if she adopts? Even if she weren’t doing her refugee work, she has adopted three children and made a difference (probably between life and death in Zahara’s case) in their lives. That is more, much more, than many people can lay claim to.
What are you doing to make a difference aside from being a thorn in this blog’s side?

ITA. It is so easy to sit in judgment of others from a keyboard. However, it is different when you are out there living your life and making mistakes along the way. It feels like it is still 2005 on this blog with the same people spouting the same rhetoric and hate. BP and AJ have moved on with their lives raising a lovely family. They know what they can handle in their lives and I admire them for putting into actions their plans. Too many celebrities give press releases, pr spin and tabloid rumors about their plans but they never come to fruition. I suspect that many of these women who criticize AJ secretly envy and admire her. They can find quotes, articles and pictures of AJ faster than the fans. I daresay that some of these critics are obsessed with AJ, not because of BP, but because of the woman that AJ is. She is not the meek, shallow, insecure woman afraid to change styles or travel. She is a bold adventurous woman that goes out and accomplishes her goals and dreams, rather than talk incessantly about them.

Congrats to BP and AJ on the new addition to their family. Thanks Just Jared for the new thread.

How a sane person in good faith could ever deride AJ’s work with refugees as a publicity ploy is beyond me.
Even the shallowest mind, stunted by years of tabloid fare, the most self-centred couch potato, the most jealousy filled heart of a co-dependent, conventional, profoundly stupid and unhappy excuse for a woman around has to understand this: AJ could have all the publicity in the world just by stepping on a red carpet with her man.
That she chooses to do something for the victims of the most horrifying crimes in the world, to immerse herself in all that misery and grief when she could reap the dubious profit of the limelight by various self-indulgent pursuits is glaringly an option to commend.
And even if prejudice blinds… the pain and suffering in these camps is so terrible, the tragedies so hideous, the cruelty of mankind so shattering that only the most superficial soulless human being would question the messenger and ignore the message.
