Angelina Jolie in Vietnam for Adoption
Angelina Jolie leaves from Ho Chi Minh City International Airport and is escorted through Vietnam with 5-year-old son Maddox under the protection of her personal security officer Mickey Brett. Here’s Angelina’s expected agenda during her stay:
- Travel to Tam Binh orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City to receive 3-year-old child (most likely a boy)
- Participate in an adoption ceremony with officials in Ho Chi Minh City
- Meet with U.S. consular officials to review the adoption and grant the child a passport.
It appears that Brad Pitt is home in L.A. taking care of his two daughters, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 10 months.

I totally agree that this family knows what they need to do in order to make the family they want . I admire their tenaciosness , their passion , and their incredible awareness of what should be done and how to do it . I think their family is so beautiful . What they are doing to provide a family for themselves is inspiring . The children are so blessed . I feel somehow that their success in the coming together of family affects me deeply . I am so happy for them .

I think this may be true. Angelina is doing a single person adoption, so Brad does not need to be at the ceremony that will happen today in Vietnam (Vietnam time is 20+ hours ahead of the US so already Thursday morning there).

Did you happen to John Edwards on The Situation Room? He talked about Coulter aka Man-Ann, Don’t ask, don’t tell and Fox. He did pretty well and I wouldn’t be surprised if he sneaks right in if or when people get tired of Hillary and Obama. Right now, Edwards/Obama looks like a good ticket, next to Gore/Obama of course. Then again, it’s early.
I think Brad and the other 2 kids are there too. I can’t be sure but one pic looks like zaharah’s afro is behind the driver.

Angelina Jolie would meet authorities in Vietnam on Thursday to adopt a Vietnamese boy from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, officials said.
Jolie jetted into the southern city on Wednesday night from Osaka, Japan, with her three children Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh in a chartered plane.
Reporters and photographers waited outside the hotel in the center of the city before she was expected to go to the Justice Department to sign adoption documents.
The adoption papers are still subject to final approval from the U.S. consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnamese boy, described by officials in the communist-run country as a healthy 3 to 4 year-old, would be the fourth for Hollywood star Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt.
They have one biological child, Shiloh Nouvel who was born last year, and two adopted children — son Maddox from Cambodia and daughter Zahara from Ethiopia.
Jolie, 31, filed adoption papers in early March through an unidentified American agency without Pitt because under Vietnamese law, an unmarried couple may not adopt a child. Single people may adopt children under the law.
The couple say they have no plans to marry but are committed to raising their children together.
In Vietnam, adoptions have been known to take as little as one month if background checks and issues of whether the adopting family can support a child are quickly resolved.
However, the process can take six months or longer in some cases.
The senior official in charge of international adoptions has said the adoption by Jolie was speeded up, partly because of her fame. The child has been in the Tam Binh orphanage in the city since late 2003.
Jolie and Pitt visited Ho Chi Minh City last November and met children at the orphanage.
The couple starred in the 2005 movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” They are also working together on the film “A Mighty Heart” about the killing of a U.S. journalist by Pakistani militants.
Jolie won an Oscar in 1999 for best supporting actress in “Girl, Interrupted.” She starred in the 2001 movie “Tomb Raider” which was filmed in Cambodia, neighboring Vietnam.

Thanks 4Q, so the whole family is in Vietnam, that is great. I swear I am on cloud nine, I am so happy and excite I can’t sit still and I can’t keep up, all the informations are coming by fast and furious :)
We may not know who is in Vietnam now but we sure know that Mickey is STILL alive.

BUT GIRL/GUY? ANGRY MUCH?
The reports are so confusing, some says Brad is there, others all 3 children only. But so far, we only saw Angie and Mad. Maybe Brad and the 2 gilrs were in a different car?
I really think Brad and the 2 girls are also in Vietnam, or may have gone to Cambodia, and will meet Angie and the 2 boys there. I think they will spend some time in their cambodia house before going back to US.
If all the kids are there, probably Holly and a nanny are with her. I hope so. Mickey is not enough help with four kids. They must have travelled in more than one car from the airport cause all can’t fit into the back seat of the Merc they were shown in when they arrived last night in Vietnam.
