Jolie To Arrive in Vietnam Tonight
If all goes according to plan, officials say Angelina Jolie could bring her newly adopted child home from Vietnam by the weekend.
Angelina is expected to arrive in Vietnam late Wednesday night and attend an adoption ceremony with Vietnamese officials on Thursday morning.
The 3-and-a-half-year-old boy Angelina is expected to adopt has been living at the Tam Binh orphanage (pictured) on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.

Your concerns are noted, and I salute you for being a adoptive parent. However:
1) The “report” you mentioned might not be accurate (paperwork only in March). There are reports that they started the process last summer.
2) Sadly, even with our best intentions, someone like you and me adopting from this orphanage isn’t going to make headlines. Jolie does. It is a great advertisement for the ORPHANAGE. If they have the best intentions for the children, wouldn’t you jump on a great PR like this, so that the adoption offer come pouring into this particular place just because of Jolie-Pitt? Or to Vietnam in general? It’s a good, pragmatic solution, if it was indeed “fast tracked”.
BTW is this THE child in the picture they are adopting? No info on his name yet?

I wish the Jolie-Pitt family and their new addition all the best - I’m not trying to sound bitter, I just hate when celebrity or $$ influences a serious process such as adoption. If they were doing it for the betterment of the child, then all adoptions should be fast-tracked to help get the child in a stable home as quickly as possible.

I agree, but that happens with all celebrities in all other subjects. They get away with a lot of things, specially in the justice deparment, but I don’t blame them I blame the system who in the end are the ones to blame because they keep doing it.
Didn’t Angelina say she lost the weight because of breastfeeding?
I am about to cry, one of these kids will change for much better. They are very unfortunate at their births but one of them will be having luck of his life. I wish him a healthy, happy, long life with his loving family.
Please do not mention someonelse’s name, enough is enough! Can’t we live a day without her name mentioned, for God’s sake? It’s becoming obsessive within us.

VietNamNet Bridge - The Bureau of International Adopted Children under the Ministry of Justice is considering the records of the 3.5-year-old boy whom Hollywood star Angelina Jolie wants to adopt.
“There is no problem associated with the records of the boy that Angelina Jolia wants to adopt and we are considering the papers,” said Vu Duc Long, Head of the Bureau of International Adopted Children.
Mr Long said that Jolie’s adoption case is being processed more quickly than normal because she has selected a boy at the Tam Binh Orphan Sponsor Centre already. “Moreover, a celebrated person is certainly treated a little bit different from others,” he added.
According to this official, Jolie will receive a notice to receive the boy next month. After receiving the notice, the actress must pick up the child within three months. The boy will be given to Jolie at a ceremony in HCM City.
After it was reported that Jolie wanted to adopt a Vietnamese child, the actress was criticised by some western newspapers. The US’ National Ledger said that Jolie takes advantage of her reputation to ‘open many doors’ and earns good fame as the Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Refugee Agency and one who devotes herself to charity activities.
Time magazine emphasised that the star performs formalities in a shortcut. The US Weekly even said that Angelina Jolie promised to donate US$2 million to the Tam Binh Orphan Centre after receiving the child.
However, Nguyen Van Trung, Director of the Tam Binh Orphan Centre, rejected the information. “Our goal is to seek a safe home for the child. Jolie has not promised to give anything to the centre,” he affirmed.
I keep on looking at the first photo, the kids are so innocent, so beautiful.
i hope the papps don’t storm the orphanage and give them some time to bond. otherwise, i can’t wait to see pics of brad playing with his two sons. that kid won’t be shy for long around this family.
Does this woman not realise how many children there are in the U.S. who also need to be adopted? Or is she just so hell-bent on having a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural family that she is going to continue to ignore the children in her own country who have nothing and no one?
Hey all, I’m so happy for this family. Anyway, I find this quote by Hugh Jackman regarding adoption.
“We’re still trying to have our own children,” Jackman says. “But we’ve always known there’s a need for mixed-race adoption. What’s the point of queuing up for a blond, blue-eyed kid? Adoption, in the best sense of the word, means that regardless of physical or background traits, you’re willing to take on that child and assimilate him into your family and community.”
