OlderIntroducing… Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
New reports from Vietnam are coming in that Angelina Jolie has renamed her 3-year-old adopted son from Pham Quang Sang to PAX THIEN JOLIE (soon to be PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT).
In Latin, “PAX” means “peace.” In Vietnamese, “THIEN” means “sky.” The coolness factor pretty much matches up with the rest of the pack: Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. PAX. THIEN. JOLIE. PITT.
But it has been confirmed that Angelina has completed procedures with Vietnamese authorities to adopt. Just one more hoop to jump through: U.S. consular and embassy officials must give approval.
In short… Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon have four children: 5-year-old son Maddox adopted from Cambodia, 3-year-old son Pax adopted from Vietnam, 2-year-old daughter Zahara adopted from Ethiopia and 10-month old daughter Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May 2006.

He’s 3 years and 4 months old (November or December birthday?) He likes eating spaghetti and yogurt. He has learned some English (counting from 1-10 and greeting).
He is just about 1 year older than Zee. My god, 4 children five and younger- 5, 3, 2, and 10 months. WOW!! And Angelina has said just this week that she wants even more children.
Hey peeps. I guess the next issue now for the haters will be why change the boy’s name. I love the name unique & easy.
I’m surprised it’s Pax really. I figured it would be 5 letters like the other kids. So Pax’s name would be Jolie-Pitt or Jolie to start with? Seems kind of strange to adopt him and then change his last name twice. I don’t exactly know about the name change and how it works. Anyway, congrats to them. I do kind of wish Brad was more of a part of it though. Before anyone complains, I know he’s a big part of it and will be the kids father, but I wish he could be there from the start and at the ceremony and singing of the adoption. Any word if he actually in the country or not? Some people are saying no, some are saying yes. I know some reports say just Maddox and some are saying all the kids.

In an event wish them the best but it could have been a better name.
I thought changing the child’s name is common. At least Angelina gave him a name that could be from Vietnam normally parents will name the child a regular english name like jack or robert.
LOL everytime Angelina names her kids there is a reaction to the name. Some people did not like Zahara. Then did not like Shiloh. Now Pax. (Was not around when she named Maddox so don’t know how people reacted.)

A lot of thinking and caring seem to go into naming Jolie-Pitt children. I just love to be the fly on the wall of Jolie-Pitt household choosing these names LOL!!

Hey thank you for asking. Not yet. I tried last night, but my brain was scrambled. Today I was really busy. Guli, you must understand I just learned how to copy the name of the person from a previous post to my comment post. Challenge does not do justice to my lack of computer skills.
Are you leaving again? If so where to, and for how long. Where is, I think this how she spells her name, Mailabaumm, and OJP, Sweetpea? There are a couple of others who use to post often, but stopped when we became over run with haters. I will try tomorrow to see if You tube can help me.

I wonder if they would consider getting married…It is kind of sad that because they are not married, Brad had to miss out on these moments, when reporters, officials get to witness such a special moment. he did not. I wonder who is the one who does not want to marry Brad or Angie. It almost like Brad is an afterthought, when you google it says “jolies adopted son” or “Angelina adopts”. I also notice recently that certain media outlets instead of saying Brad and Angelina…..they say Angelina and Brad Pitt…I know some peeps might laugh,,,but I think the media seems to see Brad almost as an afterthought. I also noticed with e tv coverage they also seem to list her name first now…If you notice they never say keith and nicole…it is always nicole and keith…tom and katie…I need to get some rest but you can see the beginings of what is happening…I have been a fan of Brad, and I hope jolie has his best interests at heart. I hope she doesn’t break his heart.

As for the name, I am sure that he’ll love his new name Pax, it’s not like she changes the whole origin of the name (like Madonna did - ‘David’, I mean what is that ?!!) Angie ALWAYS gives her children names that mean something!! God bless her and Brad and the kids.
wow! She sure decided to have a lot of kids, after snagging Brad! Hopefully she will still be able to look after them if anything bad happens with Brad. As he doesn’t adopted this particular kid, he’s not responsible for him i take it?

The name change makes sense. If you are in an orphanage somebody picks a name just to call you that. There’s no background story no reason based in love. Angie has given him a name and when he’s older he’ll ask her about the name and she’ll explain to him what it means.

But why did she change his name? I know that’s quite normal when adopting a child, but this boy is already 3,5 years old. He’s used to his name. So now not only he has to become familiar with another country and family, but also with another name. I wouldn’t have done that, I think.
But he’s a lucky boy to be adopted by Angie and Brad!
Wonder how the other kids are going to react on him, especially Maddox, ’cause he now has a younger brother!
I do think the new name is cool…and I am not trying to be a “hater” but I agree with those about changing the name of a 3 year old….at 3 years old….you KNOW your name. And while I agree that she puts a lot of thought into the names of the kids and the names are certainly interesting and meaningful and she tries to keep it within the heritage of the child…so? Should her desire to name them something “meaningful” and interesting make more sense or be more important than the kid keeping his name at 3 years old? Maddox and Zahara were too young to really have that concept ingrained…so it wasn’t a big deal. Should she have changed Brad’s name when they got together? His name is pretty dull and it doesn’t really mean much of anything…And… her name is sort of uncommon and it’s pretty….but does it “mean” anything?
I have to say that I think it’s a little rough on the child to change his name. My son is three, and if you were to change his name, it would rock his world. On top of everything else he’s adjusting to, why add that to the mix?
Still, congrats to the family. He is darling.
