OlderIntroducing… Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
New reports from Vietnam are coming in that Angelina Jolie has renamed her 3-year-old adopted son from Pham Quang Sang to PAX THIEN JOLIE (soon to be PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT).
In Latin, “PAX” means “peace.” In Vietnamese, “THIEN” means “sky.” The coolness factor pretty much matches up with the rest of the pack: Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. PAX. THIEN. JOLIE. PITT.
But it has been confirmed that Angelina has completed procedures with Vietnamese authorities to adopt. Just one more hoop to jump through: U.S. consular and embassy officials must give approval.
In short… Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon have four children: 5-year-old son Maddox adopted from Cambodia, 3-year-old son Pax adopted from Vietnam, 2-year-old daughter Zahara adopted from Ethiopia and 10-month old daughter Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May 2006.

Yes girly girl, On Reelz Channel’s Dailies program they interviewed the editor from Variety and he said that Ocean’s 13 could be the biggest opening of the Cannes film festival ever! Now that’ saying a lot becasue of all those glamourous stars of the past which made the festival what it is today. The biggest stars in Hollywood, George, Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle are the reasons. They are all men (for once!). He said that the film is not in competition though. May is right around the corner. I think Angelina will keep a low profile for this one but I’m hoping she walks the red carpet of all red carpets in Cannes with Brad. Imagine the madness with the paps! It normally is the most maddening film event on the planet.

I do have one question - applies to all the kids she adopted, but esp this one, since he’s older than the otehrs when they were adopted: how do they communicate? He speaks no English, they - no Vietnamese. Theories?

Well the other kids were babies when she adopted them. And this one is three. He’s not THAT old, and being around an English-speaking family, I’m sure he’ll learn quickly. If he doesn’t, she can always get him a private teacher or something. I was five when I had to start learning English, and today I speak it as if it were my native tongue :)

Being poor sucks! I can’t do a d*mn thing for anyone & really look forward to the day that I can! Which for me means having money, especially lots of money because I am VERY ambitious to help in the world, not to mention being able to take care of myself too, as appropriate to my carrer & work in the world.

Please clarify your claim of hypocrisy: Wealthy people should not do humanitarian work because 1. Only people with less resources should do humanitarian work 2. For any wealthy person’s humanitarian work to be credible, all wealth, or at least a significant amount of it, should be donated. Also clarify “the public” being preached: which one? The poor? The wealthy? The educated? The functionally illiterate? The racist? The indifferent? The ones who can not differentiate Vietnam from Cambodia and consider all are Chinese?
I have a suggestion for you, since you claim your argument, “It’s the hypocrisy, no matter who you are”, applies to all: Check out the Forbes list of the world’s most rich 849 person, add their wealth together, and match the amount to the resources necessary to eliminate basic survival problems: the right to have food, the right to survive, the right to be secure. Assume that all names on that list donate 1/3 of only their “yearly income”. Also check the nationalities of these people and inequality and poverty inherent in their own countries. You will see according to that list, JPs are not “rich” or even “wealthy”. If my calculations are correct, with their current wealth level, JPs need to work 30 more years without spending a nickel to be placed in that list, assuming all else equal. Here is another question on amassing real estate wealth: Do you know the number of North Americans buying homes in Central Europe and Latin America as summer vacation homes for investment purposes?
Your problem should not be JPs efforts, whatever they do, still their effort is not more than a drop. Your problem should be the redistributive justice in the world, and it starts from the Forbes list asking what these names give back to the deprived in the societies they live in. And for this reason, your outrage is misplaced and backfiring.

Joe..as far as cable news talking heads are concerned, he’s not the worst. He’s ripped O’Reilly, this administration, and he’s defended the Daily Show and The Colbert Report against fellow conservatives, he’s also appeared on their shows too. So to me, he’s a jerk but he’s not O’Reilly.

Hi to all and congrats to the Jolie Pitts - love the new name. The little one looks adorable. Since daylight savings time and clock change my computer time is one hour different than the times posted on the posts. For instance my computer clock is 11:20 pm (which is correct time) but the last post that I am looking at says 10:17 pm - anyone else having this problem?

I watched it, it was very good except for that chick from the New York Daily News Jo Piazza, she was *****, apparently she wrote an article today in the News that was very harsh about Angie’s adopting Pax; but the other lady can’t remember her name and AJ put her straight, the other lady basicly said that what Jo wrote were a bunch of crap, that Angie adopting this child was a very good thing; and that people are threaten by Angie and the good things that she is doing; she and AJ had wonderful things to say about Angie and Brad and about the adoption.
If I left anything out, maybe someone else who watched it as well, can fill in the rest
