Introducing… Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
New reports from Vietnam are coming in that Angelina Jolie has renamed her 3-year-old adopted son from Pham Quang Sang to PAX THIEN JOLIE (soon to be PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT).
In Latin, “PAX” means “peace.” In Vietnamese, “THIEN” means “sky.” The coolness factor pretty much matches up with the rest of the pack: Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. PAX. THIEN. JOLIE. PITT.
But it has been confirmed that Angelina has completed procedures with Vietnamese authorities to adopt. Just one more hoop to jump through: U.S. consular and embassy officials must give approval.
In short… Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon have four children: 5-year-old son Maddox adopted from Cambodia, 3-year-old son Pax adopted from Vietnam, 2-year-old daughter Zahara adopted from Ethiopia and 10-month old daughter Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May 2006.

Have you guys no children or nieces and nephews? The name change is no problem.
These haters are like plant workers….they come into these JP threads like on shifts at all different times of the day and night only to repeat with their ‘buddies’ early just said. I could have swore I just read post 597 like ten pages ago but maybe I’m wrong.
Riviera:
You’re an as*hole if you think being in an ORPHANAGE is better than being adopted … why do you think their goal is in an orphanage … TO GET THESE ABANDONED AND ORPHANED KIDS their own home through loving adoptive parents. And so what if he changes his language? Don’t you think those children whose parents migrate to the U.S. either legally or illegally and who don’t speak English have to learn the language too? And they seem to be fine with that, especially having to learn English at such a young age.
You’re just a really bitter faniston who is about to explode now because of envy. You just say anything, no matter how idiotic you sound, just to bash the Jolie-Pitts. I am so glad that Angie is a lot stronger than your idol, she doesn’t give a sh*t what you think about her as long as she can help a child. What have YOU DONE LATELY TO HELP another human being?
Happy birthday Cliniqua and hunnybunny what a nice day to celebrate your special day. I like BAMPZS too. Cheers everyone. And thanks Jared for all the beautiful threads you brought us.
My prayer is that now that AJ has taken Pax out of the orphanage, the rest of the kids there would have someone to adopt them. Goodnight everyone.
Riviera, regarding your post below - has it ever occurred to you that taking these children a way from poverty and giving them a loving home, and education and someday a lot of money can benefit the country of birth. One day they all could be advocates for their own countries in ways that we can’t even imagine. It’s destiny. These children were chosen by the orphanages - the Jolie Pitts did not pick them (talking about Pax and Zahara here) they were sent a file on the child who were chosen to fit the family. J & P could have rejected either child but they didn’t. Also, I read on a Vietnam adoption site ( can’t find it now) that up until the age of 9 it is okay to change childs name - after 9 it is okay only with consent of child. Seems to me that if the Vietnamese authorities deem it okay to change the childs name and they are very child oriented then it is okay to change the child’s name. In addition if you had read some of the official reports coming form the orphanage you would see that this has been in the works for almost 1 year. No corners were cut - not deal with the promise of money were cut. All requirements were met and now we have the wonderful results.

And, yes, she’s gone and done it again! Thinking of herself only! Even if she thought she was doing good for the child, she’s wrong! He is a beautiful child…he looks healthy and happy. Now, she’s going to change his name, change his language, take him to some strange land, have paps follow his every move, and why??? to show the world she adopts?? who cares! And, what exactly is she proving to “normal folks” who would like to adopt? That money can get you a child so much quicker? She’s an A$$!
The kid is going to be able to speak like 3 languages more than you .
English is my second language..
I came to America when I was 7 year old… by the fourth month I was able to speek the basic… by year end… my english is that of a second grader… So trust me when I said that bythe 4th month Pax will know most of the basic English to communicate with the rest of the family…. Also I’m sure that in the Orphange, Pax already learn some English.. Cause that language is very populare in VN… Most of the student that go to school, by the fifth grade, their parent already enroll them in night class for English…
If you all must know… Education is the #1 priorty in VN… You’ll be suprise as how knowledge they are of US history and politic….. Thier fifth grade class is comparable to that of an 8th grade class here in the US…

Does it hurt to be this stupid? Seriously.
Poor boy, he is no longer an orphan. He has a chance at a full life full of love and laughter, oh and hope.
Unlike yours apparently. What, did your parents leave you in a store and not come back? Did you get a bit too attached to the Cracker Jacks?

Pax Thien - It’s a beautiful name.
The literal translation would be “Peaceful Sky”. But there is another translation - “Heavenly Peace”. In Latin, as well as all Latin-based languages, the adjective comes after the noun.
The main gate to the Forbidden City is known as the Gate of Heavenly Peace. The ancient Chinese, who built their imperial capital at what they thought was the most auspicious location in the world, chose the spot because it was the most auspicious spot in the capital…

Thanks. It is really a beautiful name.
Happy birthday CLINIQUA, CMAR and hunnybunny!!
We have this proverb in Japanese “deru kui wa utareru”=The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.=The person who outstand gets people’s jelousy and hammered down. Quite universal truth, isn’t it? If you don’t want to be hammerd down, you can stick to average mediocre like_. Those haters prove how Angie is outstanding and has strong personality. Those children are lucky people to have Angie as their mother.
OK OK i betcha, angie is preggers! Heh!

Exactly my thoughts……
What the hell are these haters???? I mean Pax no longer needs to worry about money, or where he’s food is coming from, and poverty, but also he has a home with a love household. Why the fcuk are people saying they prefer that angie gave money to the orphanage instead? Did they forget about the most important ingredients instead???? LOVE and FAMILY.
Danm, these haters are sickos, without a decent caring heart. I swear!
Cat — thanks for your post and the information.

You are no better than the fanistons. We don’t need those kind of comments here.
Children pick up the language very quickly. I have no doubt this kid is smart. Most of the children who has gone thru hardship will appreciate what an opportunity is.
I know, many people want to immigrate to USA. This child is very fortunate to have Brad and Angie as parents in addition to be living in the united states.
One statistics, Asian is only 5 % of the us population, yet 20% of the incoming freshman at Harvard are Asian. Asians value education, work hard. You see many doctors are Asians.

I for one am glad Brad wised up, and moved on. I am glad that the user X did not get pregnant with Brad’s child because I would feel sorry for Brad.
And I would feel sorry for any child born or adopted by this said X. I cannot imagine what loveless and neurotic life that child will have to live in.
It’s so obvious X is a selfish narcissistic idiot, who is INCAPABLE of true love. Yeah, Sam, she is hanging around Cox and her husband like a third wheel - ALL the time. That would annoy the **** out of me.
The ONLY best thing she has ever done was file for the divorce to FREE Brad to be with Angie - his true soul mate.
On a lighter note, Pax is a handsome little boy. Yep, he’s gonna grow to be a very good looking man. And count my vote for BAMPZS!!!

Here’s a new story from the Washington Post about an interview Angie did with a VN newspaper…
…and don’t jump on my ass is someone’s already posted this…
Angelina Jolie Happy to Focus on New Son
The Associated Press
Friday, March 16, 2007; 1:24 AM
HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — Superstar mom Angelina Jolie is happy to have a chance to focus on her growing family and its newest member, Pax Thien Jolie, according to an interview published in a Vietnamese newspaper Friday.
“I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life,” Jolie told the Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper. “I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I’m very proud and happy to be their mother.”
Jolie adopted the 3-year-old Vietnamese boy on Thursday, during a ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh City Justice Department, which publishes the newspaper.
Since she arrived in Vietnam on Wednesday night, Jolie has been hounded by a jostling horde of photographers and reporters, who followed her from the orphanage to the Ministry of Justice for Thursday’s ceremony.
Jolie said she was sorry that her new son had to be exposed to such a media frenzy and expressed concern about how it would affect him.
“Photographs and press coverage will make him upset,” Jolie said in the interview, which was published in Vietnamese. “I’m very worried about that. I would like to say I’m sorry for bringing this into Pax’s life.”
Jolie’s oldest son, five-year-old Maddox, came with her to Vietnam, where she is expected to stay until next week. Her other children are 2-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and another sister, Shiloh, born to Jolie and her superstar partner Brad Pitt in May.
Ever since she was young, Jolie said, she has wanted to adopt children.
“Everyone would agree that children need to have a family,” the paper quoted her as saying. “I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?”
A nurse at the orphanage where Jolie adopted the boy said staff there didn’t realize she and Pitt were superstars when they first visited last year.
“They looked very much like ordinary people,” said Bui Thi Bich Tuyen. “We thought that they were just an ordinary couple that wanted to play with the kids and give them presents. They brought lots of toys.”
Jolie shared crayons and drew pictures with the kids. “We could already see that she had a heart for children,” said Tuyen, the nurse who had been in charge of raising Pax ever since he was brought to the orphanage as an infant.
Whew…Too many posts to read. Thanks Jared. Happy for you Brad & Angelina!
One thing that I know that Angie will do is give that child pride for his homeland.. That one of the things that I notice about Angie, is that she never force Mad or Ze to forget thier homeland. She build school, orphanage, have project in Mad and Ze name.. so that they when grown up will continue to help his/her country and take pride in were they came from…. And that is so important as a human being… remember were you came from, but also be prideful of who you are.. I’m sure that the Jolie-pitt already have some project in thier mind for Pax homeland.
Like Mad and Ze they will also learn thier native language….
Thanks for the article, PT, hadn’t seen it yet!
