OlderIntroducing… Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
New reports from Vietnam are coming in that Angelina Jolie has renamed her 3-year-old adopted son from Pham Quang Sang to PAX THIEN JOLIE (soon to be PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT).
In Latin, “PAX” means “peace.” In Vietnamese, “THIEN” means “sky.” The coolness factor pretty much matches up with the rest of the pack: Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. PAX. THIEN. JOLIE. PITT.
But it has been confirmed that Angelina has completed procedures with Vietnamese authorities to adopt. Just one more hoop to jump through: U.S. consular and embassy officials must give approval.
In short… Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon have four children: 5-year-old son Maddox adopted from Cambodia, 3-year-old son Pax adopted from Vietnam, 2-year-old daughter Zahara adopted from Ethiopia and 10-month old daughter Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May 2006.

I so love the name that they chose for him.. can’t wait to see pics of all their children! God Bless them!
I guess Ray Ray and Shaquan have to wait a little longer as wealthy Americans run out of the country once again to adopt Xiang Lee or Carlita when there are thousands of children mostly children of color (who obviously no one wants) right here who need to be adopted.
e are talking about real grown people here with many experiences on their backs with real lives to live that may not always seem idealistic to some. They are not tow characters of a fairytale that you are reading to entertain your self. They know how their life is and how they can handle every situation they are going through and how they will operate in every case way much better than us here or anyone else out there.
Just because some of us here may had done something different in the same situation doesn’t mean that we are right and they are wrong. Maybe it’s exactly the opposite. So if you don’t agree with something fine. They are not obligated to follow anyone’s path but theirs. And if you indeed admire them about what they represent just stop projecting and accept them as they are.

My husband’s parents died when he was 8 and he and his brother went into an orphanage (this was the 60’s). Never adopted because they were too “old”. He stayed there until he was 18 and went off to college. Believe me, if someone had adopted him, they could have called him Popeye and he wouldn’t have cared because he would have had a better life.

I know what you mean…. My parents named me Robert.. called me Robert….Then, I went to school. all those mean kids called me Robby or Bobby. I was sooo confused.. Somehow though, I managed to survive that awful trauma. today I am proud to say I am a Name Changed Surviver! And one who proudly answers to Bob. :lol:

Pax is a total cutie. Actually, all the children there are adorable, I’d want to take them all home if I could. As for the name change, puhleeze, can we all say ‘grasping at straws.’ Pax Thien has a wonderful ring to it, as well as having a very profound meaning. Being that he is only 3 years, he is way too young to be traumatized by this name change. And who knows, perhaps Angie might still be calling him by his other name until he is more settled in with his new family. Can’t wait for the whole BAMPZS clan to be together again.

Most of the posters claiming concern for the child having his name changed! are just using this as an excuse to rag on Angie and Brad. This is a very common thing for adoptees from foreign countries where their name might be a source of ridicule or teasing. If his name was Hung would people not thing it would be merciful for him to change it? Children can be cruel. Mia Farrow’s son is named Moses… Im sure that is not a Vietnamese name.

People should stop nit picking and look at the larger scale of things. As long the child is safe and happy I don;t think he will mind his name change.
Sure there is going to be a time of adjusting for everyone involve but that’s life and kids should learn that no matter the age. He is still too young to really be attached to a name. I still call me kids by their nick names and they are well adjusted kids.
Maybe Angie will call him LOVE or HONEY for a while, while they are all adjusting. Who cares what she names him as long as he is loved.
