This is the passport photo of Angelina Jolie’s newly adopted 3-year-old son Pax Thien Jolie (born Truong Quang Sang) that was attached to the passport application filed at the immigration office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Friday. The very first photos of Pax were posted here.
Angelina and Pax (along with Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh) will fly home to Los Angeles after Pax’s passport and visa have been finalized.
Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper reports that when Angelina and Pax first met, she quickly embraced him and told him in Vietnamese “Khong sao dau, khong sao dau” (No problem, no problem) and immediately started playing with him.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reports that Pax can count from 1 to 10 in English and his favorite foods include fried noodles and yogurt.
The adoption agency that Angelina used issued the following response to clear up rumors regarding Pax’s adoption.
“In applying to adopt 3-yr-old Pax Thien, Ms. Jolie followed the same course as all prospective adoptive parents who apply to our Vietnam program. Throughout her adoption process, which began in the summer of 2006, she has received no preferential treatment from the Vietnamese government or Adoptions From The Heart, and contrary to earlier reports, her application was not fast tracked.
Despite rumors that she chose her child, Ms. Jolie received a referral, just like any other parent adopting from Vietnam. In late 2006, she was referred a child who had been legally determined to be available for adoption and who fit within the parameters for which she had been approved to adopt. She accepted the first and only referral given to her.
In addition, we can confirm the statement given by Nguyen Van Trung, Director of Tam Binh Orphanage, that Ms. Jolie has neither made, nor promised to make, any financial contributions to his orphanage. Adoptions From The Heart celebrates the miracle of adoption with the Jolie-Pitt family, as we do with all of our clients, and wish them much joy.”

burlygurl - thus is totaly insane what you are talking about. Thw woman is defending her own agency. You wanted Angelina to sneak into Vietnam and get the child out - what an outrage that would be. She is sneaking in and out, she is doing things illegaly,etc. You made up your mind that she is seeking attention because you hate her, and nothing would change your mind. Angelina and Brad are under a microscope, and for people who don’t like them, they can’t do right. Imagine if Brad was with Angie during the adoption ceremony, they would say: She adopted as a single person and now they are flaunting themselves there. If he was in Vietnam, but skiped the ceremony, they would say: He is her puppy, can’t show his face, and so on. Fortunately, they live their lives on their own therms. I’m very happy for their family and this little boy!
JP- I didn’t get up that early cuz I wanted to!! I got more sleep though. I have only received 2 e-mails ever from coal. She did say thanks to all for their thoughts after I sent her the names of everyone who said something. I believe the funeral is today or tomarrow, I will e-mail her now and let her know what you posted. Sheri is actually the one who e-mails her regularly so maybe she knows.

People kill me with their concern over Angelina’s statement. She said that she was taking time off last summer, just after Shiloh was born. She worked for one month on AMH and people shouted ‘hypocrite’. She has done some UN work, but again, she spent most of her time with her family. Now, Brad had to work on O13, Benjamin Button, and promoting Babel. With the exception of the Babel promotions, he was rarely away from his kids and Angelina. And yet, people are trying to criticise these two. Brad Pitt is hanging with the Scott Brothers while Angelina’s in Vietnam…Oooo.
Next time, pyschos, bring a stopwatch and time how long Brad was there.
Or better yet, have your ‘tail’ follow him to his next destination. Phone tapping isn’t only for the Linda Tripps of the world… mind you, you probably resemble her, in a Bullmastiff sort of way…

From the information at hand, except for promotion for her new films and UN work, Angelina does not have anything scheduled for 2007.
She does have in 2008 the movie with Eastwood (if everything goes as planned) and I think the screenplay to Atlas is close to being completed so that may start production in 2008/2009.
So she has plenty of time to hang with the kids.
Since Brad was a Scott’s production, I hope there will be some information on
AAOJJ soon.

lurker, i don’t think even that would help b/c brad says almost every time he is interviewed that his family is everything and that they are going to add to their family and then when it comes to fruition, ignorant people act as though it wasn’t a mutual decision and act stunned. some people just live in the past and refuse to accept the happiness of others.
But it’s so obvious to even the casual observer that there is obviously some sort of master plan at work here. I guess the word “plan” would freak most haters out because it suggests togetherness and common goals. I agree that Brad & Angelina could do such an interview, it would be ignored, because creating a family foundation together is not as sexy a Brad & Angelina out on the town together. They have been ignored before because many act like Brad has never mentioned anything about having a family and others act like this recent adoption of Pax is on a whim when Angelina clearly, on her first interview right after Shiloh’s birth that adoption is up next. Even before that she’s said she wants to adopt a bunch of kids from all over the world. Brad & Angelina have planned out their lives so that they are away from each other no more than a week at the most. Brad said to the media “I want my family with me”.

Jolie and her new son went through an emotional introduction at Thursday’s formal welcoming ceremony, during which the 3-year-old Vietnamese boy started crying when his new mom knelt down to talk to him.
As for all the attention brought to her new son, Jolie tells the newspaper: “Photographs and press coverage will make him upset. I’m very worried about that. I would like to say I’m sorry for bringing this into Pax’s life.”
Since arriving in Vietnam on Wednesday, Jolie, 31, and her son, Maddox, 5, have been followed by a horde of photographers and reporters.
But in answering those who have questioned the adoption, Jolie says, “Everyone would agree that children need to have a family. I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?”
Pax, whose given name before he was adopted was Pham Quang, is the fourth child for the actress and her partner, Brad Pitt. Their brood includes Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia, Zahara, 2, who was adopted from Ethiopia, and 10-month-old Shiloh, who was born to the couple last year.

It’s also possible that the shoot of Benjamin Button is shooting in the evening or night time BECAUSE the movie is a PERIOD PIECE.
The little cutie is coming home. They said he was the brightest boy in the orphanage. I’m thinking the big bros will be helping their sisters out with their homework in future. Cute.

I have to agree with Paula there, though!
I do think Jolie is going to redefine what a contemporary housewife will be. Already, she doesn’t fit into the ‘working for a living’ model because she has the luxury that most women in her income bracket level have - called freedom of controlling her time-schedule.
Her version of housewife would be putting the family first and foremost especially in these formidable years but, does not mean she is abandoning herself or her other obligations. These just have to understand the priority that her family comes from.
That is how the working woman pushed forward the ‘daycare’ centers. We are all learning to redefine.
I don’t think she will be the ‘Stepford’ wife version because that kind-of-wife would not have gone to Vietnam by herself with kids in tow.
I do believe this was suppose to be a quiet week for Jolie and the kids. Somehow, Jolie has not mastered the art of evading papz since she never cared to evade them! She has nothing to hide and behaves that way.
For goodness sake, her real first night out in New Orleans, she gets caught dancing away!! LOLOLOL!!!
There have been so many pics of Jolie with Mad and she went about her business as long as they were not threatening to her.
Whereas, Pitt likes his privacy and has mastered this and gets only a lucky few papz to actually catch him with the kids.
Again, this is Jolie and Pitt’s lives. They are doing what make them happy! As long as the couple is happy with the decisions and compromises they are making - that is all that counts. They should be given the room to grow, change and become as individuals, as a couple-unit and as a family.
Come on! What do you think happens to the ‘housewives’ of Bono from U2 during their World Concert (where they are gone for an ENTIRE 2 YEARS) or Jon during the Jon Bon Jovi Concert Tour (where they were gone for a entire year)
Yet, these guys are still with their longtime loves and family (and their families are BIG - 4 to 5 kids AT Least!!)
What’s important is that they are BOTH on the same page. Look at the phone calls during the whole adoption time. That’s not behavior of a couple who are drifting apart. They are redefining themselves to accomodate growth!
