Angelina Jolie Saves St. John Knits
It was just announced that Angelina Jolie, St. John’s current spokesmodel, will again appear in the Fall/Winter 2007 St. John Knits ad campaign, which will be photographed soon.
Said creative consultant and former creative director Kelly Gray, “You know I can’t give you the shoot dates but she is definitely a part of that creative team and I’m proud to be a part of it.”"
Said St. John chairman Jim Kelley, “We lost our way for a while with the product. We’ve got the business back on track. Things are proceeding really well.”
Angelina helped rejuvenate the dying St. John label, which is now worth over $400 million.

If I decide to talk about Aniston, I have the right to. If the Jen fans can talk negatively about this family, why cant I bash Jen?
This is called “give them a dose of their medicine”. If the Jen fans stop, I shall stop.
I think “stay at home” raises an interesting philosophical ?
Let’s pretend (and I do mean PRETEND) for a minute that Angelina did wreck Brad and _’s marriage. She then went on to save dozens of lives due to, say, a landmine project or something.
Question: if a person does one bad thing and ten good things - does that mean they are forever tainted by the one bad thing, no matter what else they may go on to do in life? This has nothing to do with Angelina because I don’t think she did anything bad. I’m more interested in the thought process that says you’re tainted for life regardless of any good you might subsequently do.
That is a very harsh and judgmental belief system because the believer is necessarily saying that they have NEVER done anything wrong or bad. Otherwise they should be condemning themselves for their own wrongdoings in the past and future!
St. John’s New Model of Kindness
Though even outgoing Secretary-General Kofi Annan publicly praises Jolie — who has visited at least 15 war-torn and impoverished countries, drawing attention to humanitarian crises in places such as Darfur, Sudan; Chad; and Pakistan — charity and celebrity can be an awkward mix.
“It’s clearly a two-way street,” one U.N. worker said. “But we vet our people pretty well, and Angelina really does her work.”
Another person familiar with her efforts says it’s rare, even for a goodwill ambassador, to spend a month in a refugee camp, as Jolie has. Her extensive travels are logged in Jolie’s “Notes from My Travels,” a book that Jane Goodall hails.
“Angelina is living proof of the power we all have — every one of us — to make a difference,” Goodall said. “I was deeply moved by her descriptions of individual refugees struggling to live with dignity and hope, and found her personal commitment to be an inspiration.”
And beyond Jolie’s work for the United Nations, she’s donated at least $3 million to efforts around the world. A month before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, she was in Pakistan visiting Afghan refugees, more than a million of whom had fled under the Taliban’s rule, and personally donated $1 million.
But Jolie — who was once more famous for her tattoos than her humanitarianism — is now also making saving lives a fashion statement.
In the forthcoming issue of “Vanity Fair,” she steps forward as the face of St. John, a clothing line that has long been a favorite of politicos such as Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The “Laura Croft: Tomb Raider” star is giving St. John a new spin. Part of the deal, reportedly valued at $12 million, is that Jolie will head up its charitable foundation, and the designer is eager to market her as a model of kindness.
“I am a working mother who has set goals to accomplish a lot in this world,” Jolie said in a statement, announcing the deal last September. “I want my wardrobe to be beautiful, sexy and comfortable — all at the same time. St. John is all of those things.”

No, she didn’t jillie. She just said she doesn’t have any movies lined up for now. And I’m going to nit pick. She said movies. She didn’t say that she wasn’t still going to do photoshoots for St. John’s, with whom she IS STILL conctractually obligated to represent. She didn’t say that she wouldn’t do promotion for AMH, which, she’s conctractually obligated to do. Nope. Just said no movies right now. She hasn’t signed onto the dotted line for any movies. Meaning she’s not contractually obligated.
Let’s give the haters/FF heffers a bit of leeway to continue to hang themselves. And show a bit of compassion. It’s been a tough week for them.
Angelina and Brad have another addition to their ever growing family. Another bond for life, if you will. Angelina has spelled out that their family is the most important thing and NOT making movies. Just one more nail in their already, nailed shut coffin.
Angelina has also made it very obvious that Pax will not be the last addition to their family. Oh, and that she’s a mother of four and that they’re all equally important to her.
St. John’s Kelly Gray has come out swinging in support of Angelina being the face of St. John’s and giving her credit where credit is due.
Oh, and O13 is going to be the opening movie at Cannes. And that there is a very good chance that AMH will make it’s premiere there too and that from what people have seen of the dallies of this movie, Angelina is well on her way to another Oscar nomination.
I said let’s show compassion, hell, forget that. It’s time to gloat.

Stay-at-home does NOT mean spending time with the children 24/7. It means the mother does not have a FULL TIME COMMITMENT ON WORK or job.
A good mother has to have the passion that she wants to have children. If you have the passion in a certain thing, you will enjoy it and will succeed .
A good mother does not have to be 24/7 with the children. In fact it’s good to have outside interest or a job outside the house. It is good for the “mental health being” of the brain. It is a well known fact that Brad and Angie love children. I am optimistic that there is good coming out of this family. Angie’s modelling for Saint John is good. Photo shoot only takes a day or even shorter than that.
Jennifer Aniston should not be a mother for now. I do not see her having the desire to be one. I am not saying she is a bad person. One has the right to choose a career over family. She did choose career, fame and money. Good for her.
Some poster said Angie should stay home with the children. Saying this is an insult to all the working mom. As I said before, a good mom is not 24/7.
We dont live a stone age anymore. Many woman combine motherhood and career. Many women are highly educated. They combine motherhood and career successfully and beautifully. Think Elizabeth Vargas (ABC newswoman). She just had a baby. She is planning to go back to work in a few months.
Being a working mother is not fun and game. But it is definitely manageable. You just have to be efficient. I applaude Angie’s as a working mom. I wish her success. I see her alternating parenthood with Brad. We see Brad filming Ocean’s 13 while Angie staying home for the children. Now I see Brad hanging out with the kids while Angie makes movie. This is excellent. You can find fault on that.
Another reason for woman combining motherhood with careeris that a person works because of intellectual stimulation and professional satisfaction. Think Bill Gates, he is the richest man, yet he is still the CEO of Microsoft.
Those haters should really talk to some mothers before writing stupid posts.

It does annoy me that even People Magazine online is repeating that same lie about her deciding to become a stay at home mom! Why do people want to misquote and misunderstand her words so often?

Most people in England employ the use of nannies to raise their kids. I just want to let people know because some people refer to using nannies as if it is wrong. If Angie employs nannies it is because she can afford them. Nicole Kidman, I think used nannies and her kids are doing great.

Cliniqua I also love the Mr and Mrs Smith gag reel and how they were so at ease with each other on the set. Talking about Mr and Mrs Smith, I was watching it the other day and noticed this part that I really love. It’s when they are dancing and John asks Jane if she thinks their story will have a happy ending and she replies by saying happy ending are for stories that haven’t finished yet. The way Angie said that line and then how she moved head is so cute. It’s like she was being snotty to him but in a cute way.

The media now feeds off itself. So when one media outlet posted “stay at home mom”, all the other ones followed without reading exactly what Angelina said.
Simply put Angelina will not be working on movies probably 2008. She will still do her UN work and take a day or two to work on commerical work. The majority of her time will be with the kids.
But if you are haters you don’t care about this explanation because you are just looking for another reason to hate.
