Jolie ‘Wanted’ for Universal film

Universal Pictures has set Angelina Jolie to star alongside James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman in “Wanted,” an action film based on a graphic novel that Timur Bekmambetov will direct.
Pic will be Jolie’s next, with shooting to begin in Eastern Europe in May.

McAvoy will play a young man who discovers his father is an assassin, only to learn shortly thereafter that his dad has been murdered. The youth is drafted to follow in his father’s footsteps. Jolie will play an assassin who teaches the ropes to the wannabe killer.

Script was originated by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, and Jolie took the role after a rewrite by Dean Georgaris (”Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”) to tailor the character for her.

Marc Platt, Jim Lemley, Jason Netter and Iain Smith will produce.

Deal marks the second recent U commitment for Jolie, who’ll star this fall for director Clint Eastwood in drama “The Changeling,” to be produced by Imagine Entertainment partners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard and Malpaso’s Rob Lorenz.

She will next be seen starring as Mariane Pearl in “A Mighty Heart,” produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B and opening June 22 via Paramount Vantage. She then stars in the Robert Zemeckis-directed “Beowulf,” which opens in the fall. Jolie is also booked to star in “Atlas Shrugged,” a Randall Wallace-scripted adaptation of the Ayn Rand novel for Lionsgate.

Jolie is repped by Media Talent Group topper Geyer Kosinski.

Mmmmm, well I like the show, but yeah I’ve read that’s it’s not doing well and it wouldn’t break my heart if it went off the air. It’s not the show itself that I was defending, it’s more the injustice of dissing something just because of association.

And the fact that you immediately jumped on Izzie, shows what is in your subconscious. You are here to defend JA first, and above all. I do not go to Female First, but obviously you do and why is that? If it’s so horrible why do you stop by there? Why not just stick to JJ where you can usually have a decent conversation about Brad & Angie instead of reading what sounds like must be filth at Female First? You, ntt, certainly do not sound civilized to me. I apologized to Izzie and now you need to shut up and stay out of something that had nothing to do with you in the first place. I read Izzie’s last post and she sounded a lot more gracious than you so I think THAT is what I will consider the end of that particular topic. Furthermore, I will say what I please when I think someone is being nasty or unfair or hypocritical in regards to Brad OR Angie OR Jen. Look up the word hypocrite,ntt. I, at least, am honest about my feelings and intentions. I don’t just randomly hate.

Angie was in her trip to Chad for three days and Brad was working in New Orleans but the kids stayed in Nola. Brad’s mother was there too. Maybe she is with the kids while Brad is working. All the reports said only Maddox and of course Pax are with her. Only US weekly said otherwise and it’s a tabloid.

People magazine is getting info from Brad and Angie’s representatives and People said that only Maddox accompany her to Vietnam. It’s not that big of a deal really.

For my 2 cents worth about Courtney, I think she was pretty fair in the VF interview. She pointed out that Brad had told Jennifer of his attraction to Angelina, that he fought it for a period of time and that she didn’t think he cheated on her best friend. Brad didn’t, according to Courtney just turn tail and dash off as soon as he realised that his feelings for Angelina were strong. He was sufficiently committed to his marriage to fight an attraction and to give his marriage a shot - or else, why fight the attraction to Angelina at all?? Courtney is one of the reasons why I do think Brad didn’t cheat on Jennifer. Also, Brad actually, did try to resuscitate the marriage.

I also respect Courtney for having the guts to put herself on the line and star in a TV Series that is totally different to Friends. It is better to have tried and failed then never to have tried at all.

Good post again, Lylian. I must say that what CC said in that VF article is the main reason why I am still a B&A fan. I am no saint, but I would never like anybody who cheats on their spouse. I think AJ said about the same thing in one of her interviews. She said she would not be interested in a guy who cheats on his wife. I totally identify with her on that matter.

Well said. ITA. I agree with Lylian , admire her guts to put herself on the line and star in a TV Series that is totally different to Friends, But I think producing and acting was too different things, As an actor, you just follow the script and what the director said, not much brain needed. but as a producer, a lot of brain cells are needed to make a show or a movie to be successful. Which unfortunately, I don’t see it among the 6 “friends” actors.
Like ntt, I believed Angie . she was quite honest on her past and this girl had principles. she don’t mess up with married man because the way her father cheated on her mother, I believed her.

In a quiet office, tucked away off busy Lancaster Avenue sits an adoption agency getting international attention.

Adoptions from the Heart in Wynnewood helped Angelina Jolie carryout her adoption of 3-year-old Pax Thien from Vietnam.

“In a way, all celebrity adoptions bring attention to adoption. But it seems there’s always a lot of misconceptions,” said Maxine Chalker, founder of Adoptions from the Heart.

With written permission from the Jolie camp, Adoptions from the Heart is trying to set the record straight.

“A lot of people are saying she got special treatment, she was fast-tracked, that she paid the orphanage, lots of things that aren’t true,” said Heidi Gonzalez with Adoptions from the Heart.

The agency said it started Jolie’s adoption paperwork this past May. Gonzalez spoke to Jolie several times over the phone to calm her concerns.

“She wanted to adopt a toddler. She was a little concerned about that. She expressed concern he seemed a little shy,” Gonzalez said.
