OlderAngelina Jolie Completes Adoption of Pax
Angelina Jolie has completed her adoption of 3-year-old Pax Thien Jolie from Vietnam. The mother-of-four has left the capital Hanoi, where she obtained Pax’s visa to take him home to L.A. The family departed from Noi Bai Airport via a Gulfstream jet.
Said Angelina on making Pax’s transition as smooth as possible: “It will take him a while to realize he has a family and that his new life is permanent and that it won’t keep changing.”
Here’s People Magazine’s just-released cover for the week:
Angelina Jolie debuts her new son, Pax Thien Jolie, in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time since his adoption last week. The mother of four was joined in Vietnam by a welcoming committee: big brother Maddox, 5, and little sister Zahara, 2 (10-month-old Shiloh was home with dad), as the 3-year-old now joins the world’s most famous multicultural family.
And here’s a great recent quote from orphanage director Nguyen Van Trung on the similarity between Pax and Angelina?
(laughs) I think he is like Brad Pitt rather than Jolie.
SangPax is as naughty and smart as any character played by Pitt. Brad Pitt is very easy. Last year when he came here, he asked me where the restroom was and I showed him the way to a public restroom. And he walked straight there.”

There’s something seedy about Angelina she doesn’t seem right in her head. the boy can’t even speak english the US is totally alien to him it’s a bit selfish dragging him out of his culture and enviornment to a totally alien place. How about her give attention to Shiloh who she never seems to be bothered about. She said after she was born she felt more love for her adopted kids. Surely she should love them all equally.

What I would like to know right now is if this is your opinion of all the new parents of adopted children from foriegn lands and who also dnot speak the language of the new family? You must know that Pax is just the most famous of 3yr olds, and not the only to become part of a family that does not share the same ethnicity or heritage. I will be waiting for your answer.

Every international adoption will have a result of bringing the child out of their home country. Not only angelina Jolie, thousands of family do that too.
Don’t be a small minded summer!
A young child is very easy to adapt other language and there is no language barrier to play with other kids eventhough they are not speaking the same language or even they are not the same race. (see pax and zahara’s picture)
Maybe it’s hard for your tiny brain to learn other language, …. but not for anybody else.
Or maybe you are jealous that now pax has a better life than yours.

I agree with Summer- I found it odd that Angie felt it necessary to change the boy’s name. - It seems Angie has issues which she is trying to cover by adopting. I hope she’s adopting for the right reasons. Pax seemed to be well taken care of and spared of any major trauma i.e. Z. Therefore it arouses suspicion as to why she needed to adopt him so quickly. Adoption is a great thing but I believe the greater battle is helping these countries develop enough so that parents will be able to look after themselves and subsequently their own children.

goodness, I can’t keep up, literally! While the Shiloh debate,( Mad seems to do OK where ever he is), and Pax’s “obstacle’ of changing names and culture rages on, Z’s really the one that stands out in my mind. That frown you see is her diaprroval for the cameramen around her. Her regal pout is something she’s getting down for future experiences on the runway, and you know she’s got it down. And she saves her heartfelt smiles for her “peeps”

In theory, this is a great goal. In real life, though, this kind of change will take years, if not decades (especially for such countries as Cambodia, which had such a violent history because of the Khmer Rouge) and VietNam (need I remind you of the VietNam War?) … in the meantime, there are children like Pax and others who were abandoned. So what would you rather do? Leave them to languish in orphanages or have someone come and adopt them and offer them a better life?
Why would changing the boy’s name equate to Angie’s having issues? That is quite a leap, and very illogical (sorry for sounding like Mr. Spock). But think about it for a minute, and let not your hatred for Angelina blind you. It’s a simple name change — Meg Ryan did it for her adopted Chinese daughter (Daisy True), and so did Steven Spielberg for his adopted Vietnamese child (Theo). Are you saying that Meg and Steven also had the same issues as Angelina? And what issues are these anyway?

For those of you who are questioning why Shiloh isn’t there, maybe she is teething and flying those long hours will bother her. She is only 10 mo old. If they were all natural biological siblings, no one would question it. The youngest stays home. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, the brother being the youngest and he was sickly. He was always left behind with either Mom or Dad when we went somewhere for a day or two. Does this mean that they love him more or less? Alternatively, as we got older (when I say older, I mean tweens because as teenagers - my parents were lucky if we all went with them anywhere for more than once a year), I stayed behind or my other sisters stayed behind because we had school commitments, one of our parents always stayed with us. Brad and Angelina are making it work the way they see fit. There are always going to be people who will criticize them but if they are happy and living their lives; and along the way, they are also making lives better, then so be it.

Newsflash….Maddox and Zahara were BABIES, as in 6-7 months old when Angie adopted them into a life of WEALTH AND PRIVILEGE.
They will NOT remember their hardships, they WILL NOT remember being in an orphanage, and ALL OF HER CHILDREN INCLUDING THE ADOPTED ONES are equally as privileged as Shiloh.

For those of you who are questioning why Shiloh isn’t there, maybe she is teething and flying those long hours will bother her. She is only 10 mo old. If they were all natural biological siblings, no one would question it. The youngest stays home. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, the brother being the youngest and he was sickly. He was always left behind with either Mom or Dad when we went somewhere for a day or two. Does this mean that they love him more or less? Alternatively, as we got older (when I say older, I mean tweens because as teenagers - my parents were lucky if we all went with them anywhere for more than once a year), I stayed behind or my other sisters stayed behind because we had school commitments, one of our parents always stayed with us. Brad and Angelina are making it work the way they see fit. There are always going to be people who will criticize them but if they are happy and living their lives; and along the way, they are also making lives better, then so be it.

Why can’t the other media realize that for exclusives on BAMPZS, it’s gonna be Hello and People? Many of my friends have bought, (regrettably it is the only form of having a baby) a baby. I celebrate the fact that them, being able to have a baby, children that would die in another way also adopt or they would live in the misery. Although I live in a country of the third world, I have always lived well, I have had good education and a lot of love. They gives me a lot of pity to see as many of those that here write, they think that Brad’s only daughter is Shiloh, because she is biological. That says that they are ignorant people, although they live in a country of the first world. One like father or mother should teach to her children to think that outside of our frontiers there are people that lives under deplorable conditions. Last night I did Angelina’s movie with Ed Burton, me encantó. You want to tell every person you meet the atrocity you have seen and implore them to do what they can to help.
If you were that child’s relative, and knew they would likely not make it through the next year of their life if you hold on to them, and someone came along and offered to take them away to a life you cannot even comprehend - one where they would be well-fed, well housed, treated immediately for any medical problem they have, educated at the best schools, and loved beyond belief - what would you do? Fortunately it is a decision none of us will ever have to make.
Adoption overseas is complicated and it’s not a perfect system. I belive that AJ and Madonna have done their utmost to ensure that their adoptions are on the “up and up”. Beause of who they are every human rights organization in swinging distance wants to be involved in the process. As AJ so rightly stated in her interview last week on CNN - you are checked out to the nth degree when adopting a child - yet anyone can bring a child into this world without any of the same requirements needing to be met.
Both AJ and Madonna have not just swept in and adopted children in another part of the world without a though towards improving conditions in the countries that their children are from. They are involved on a ground level with trying to improve conditions in Cambodia and all of Africa so that in the future there won’t be so many orphans, and the orphans that do exist will live beyond the age of 5, and in conditions that aren’t so deplorable.
You can criticize all you want, but I think that if people put half that same energy into being part of the solution as they do into criticizing others for their efforts we wouldn’t have these problems to the extent that we do. And I say WE because we are all on this planet together, and if we don’t smarten up and start working together we are in line for problems we can’t even begin to imagine.

First of all let me say international adoption is a process that involves invasive home studies, psychological or psychiatric evaluations, heartbreaks, and tons of paperwork for both our government and the government of the country you’ll be adopting from. Every country is different so it may take 9 to 12 months to adopt sometimes up to 2 years. If Angelina decided to change this little boy’s name that’s perfectly fine since IT’S HER SON, plus it may be much better for him to start fresh, new life, new loving family and new name this will definitely help him forget about his miserable life he had before. This boy has been safe by Angelina and Brad and if it took them only 3 days to adopt him SO WHAT, don’t forget that what really matters is that this boy will have a privileged life, a loving and wonderful family.

Haters are full of hate. And there likes spew their hate on everyone. Malaya (I think) posted an article about this unmarried woman who found out she was pregnant 2 days before she delivered the baby. This was because she is rather fat. In the article, it says that the news article comments page has people write horrid remarks about her and how she will be a horrible mother. the article went on to talk about how some companies have had to modify their comments area or in Yahoo’s case, close it down altogether because a small number of haters were taking an inordinate amount of space.
OK, this article helped me put the haters of Brad and Angelina in perspective. They don’t just hate Brad and Angelina, there are haters who will hate on a fat unmarried woman who isn’t a celebrity. Read any blog and it is the haters comments who predominate in just about all blogs. Angelina and Brad will of course always attract even more hate mail because they are who they are - SUPERNOVAS together.
And I do believe the comment in the article about how it is a small number of posters who predominate with their hate blogs. More than once now, haters on the Angelina thread have come on, posting an agreement with another hater - and oopss, forgot to change their name. I’m sure these haters - everywhere, feed of the negativity and attention. They must live in their little ***** and karma must be a ***** to them.

Now on to a positive comment. I think the photos in Hello/People are lovely. I’m so happy that Angelina has adopted Pax and Brad will no doubt move to adopt him too. Pax will most likely not be adopted by a vietnamese family given that he is already 2 (most adoptors prefer babies to toddlers under 2) and have the opportunity to grow up with a loving family. Its wonderful he has so many siblings already. I’m sure he will thrive. Love the photo of Pax and Z playing together. I’m sure they will drive each other mad sometimes.
Am looking forward to photos of the entire family together. I wonder how the Jolie Pitts will engineer those. I do think that the Jolie Pitts have been masterly in the way they manage to release photo shoots of themselves. Despite what the Levin guy from TMZ said about the public getting tired of the Brangelina juggernaut - I think the public will still enjoy the photos of the family together. But yes, i do think the intense interest in them will wane over time to more manageable levels. With luck, Brad and Angelina be able to bring the kids to Disney land next year.

That was a very good post and I do agree about people just being full of hate to everyone. Some of the posts I have seen about Heidi Klum’s son, even husband are just despicable. Remember when Faith Hill made that booboo at the last CMAs and you had all these people bashing her like crazy, calling her names, and some were even saying her husband should leave her. The challenge sometimes in celebrity blogging is skimming through thoughtless and mean posts like some in this thread. Imposters and pretenders spreading gloom and doom for Brad and Angie but to no avail. They have more supporters more than ever, their children healthy and happy, and Pax is a testament how committed they are in being a family . These imposters just can’t stand it, envy and frustration make them lash out more and write foolishly and carelessly and they forget to be humane and fair.

Ok, this issue is about adopted children, Angie wants to focus on how you can adopt children from different part of the worlds and how they are becoming a loving family. That is why Shiloh is not in this issue of People. Angie is brilliant, beside welcoming her 3rd adopted child, she also raise awareness in adoption issue.
I’m sure there will be picture of family reunion and process of changing the name of Pax’s to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt this year. Life goes on beautifully for the Jolie-Pitt family. Go Bampzs!

We’re all human - even the indomitable Brad Pitt. He sounds like he was emotionally starved for the kind of interpretation that you came up with in your last post.
I mean look at Rod Stewart - total bada__ is tamed by his new wife. Stewart has said this woman gives him all the love he ever can ask for. I’m not a fan of his but I was surprised at what love can do to a person - any person.
Jolie can come off too independent for her own good and that’s from her fan. However, she has also given so much that she didn’t expect. That independence is being tamed by LOVE. They’re not perfect and as long as BOTH of them are good with their decisions - they should be fine.
These two have brought each other to a whole new level and much growing up because of the love these two bring to the table.

Why is ther a difference? She and Brad have 4 beautiful children who they love and adore equally. Shilo isn’t special, she doesn’t stand out from the crowd. They are all special, they all stand out in their own way and that is as it should be. You love each child differently by giving each child the individual love that they need but you love them all equally. I really think the attachment to Shilo, the comments about Brad taking Shilo and running are directly related to JA. Her fans will except her and Brad back together with Shilo but not the multi-racial children, that interfes with the perfect whit bright family image. Thankfully for Brad there is as much chance of him getting back with JA as snow in hell and most importantly he has 4 children that he loves , not just one.

Let’s put this into perspective. Everything Angelina is doing now has been done before. The media is acting as if she is the first celebrity to do so much for the world. She’s not. Keep in mind, Mia Farrow has 10 adopted children and she has been adopting children long before Angie even thought about having kids of her own. Josephine Baker also adopted a number of children and did a lot of work in 3rd world countries.
