New Ocean’s 13 Stills
Check out these new movie stills of Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 13 including Brad Pitt combing through evidence inside one of costar Al Pacino’s hotel rooms.
Look out for the full Ocean’s 13 trailer to be released online on Thursday, March 29. The film will have its international premiere at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in May. O13 will opens nationwide on June 8.

Citibank blocks ATM cards after retailer breach
Citibank has imposed transaction blocks on an unspecified number of US card accounts after suffering a series of fraudulent cash withdrawals at ATMS in the UK, Russia and Canada.
News of the security scare spread like wildfire over the Internet after a Citibank customer reported the problems in a blog update. An apparent media blackout by the US bank fanned the flames, leading to wild speculation in the blogosphere that the bank’s global ATM network had been compromised.
Citi has since issued a statement in an attempt to clarify the position, indicating that the security problems stem from a previous breach at a US retailer.
“Recently, we became aware of fraudulent ATM cash withdrawls on Citi-branded MasterCard credit and debit cards used in three countries on customer accounts that had been possibly compromised in previous retailer breaches in the US,” says the bank in its prepared satement. “To protect customer accounts that were affected, we placed a special transaction block in those three countries on PIN based transactions. We are currently reissuing cards, as appropriate, to affected customers.”
The bank has yet to identify the afflicted retailer or quantify the number of customer card accounts affected. A spokesman in the UK says the breach happened “some time ago”, and that the problem is limited to an unspecified number of US cardholders. He says cards are being re-issued to affected customers “as appropriate”.

Looks like they are having fun. For this kind of movie, that’s half the battle isn’t it? While I agree the second was tossed off, I have high hopes for this one.
I can’t wait for this movie to come out. I hope this movie is much better than Ocean 12. I wonder if a lot less people will tune in since 12 was not good.

I watched so you don’t have to: A kiss-and-tell report on the ‘Dirt’ finale with Jen and Courteney
This is one of those days that I take a bullet for the team: I’ve watched the “Dirt” finale.
It’s more accurate to say I forced myself to watch the finale of the dreadful FX drama starring Courteney Cox as a tabloid editor, which airs 9 p.m. Tuesday. (Spoilers ahead. If you care.)
I sort of had to screen the finale, because people (OK, maybe just a few people) will be wondering about the much-advertised kiss between Cox’s character, Lucy Spiller, and a rival magazine editor played by Cox’s old “Friends” castmate, Jennifer Aniston.
So, here’s the full report on the kiss: In the scene that precedes it, Spiller and Tina Harrod (Aniston) have lunch in Spiller’s office. Spiller’s job as editor of the celebrity rag DirtNow is in jeopardy and she thinks Harrod is angling for it. A lesbian encounter in their past is mentioned – it emerged earlier in this painfully drawn-out episode that they worked together long ago – but Spiller brushes off Harrod’s string of flirtatious remarks.
As they walk out of Spiller’s office, Harrod kisses Spiller goodbye. On the lips, for a few seconds. No tongue. And since the kiss is in full view of the DirtNow staff, there’s really no passion to it.
That would pretty much describe the show itself, which makes viewers wait until more than 30 minutes have passed to show this not-hot kiss.
Did I mention that this episode features not one but two ghostly visions speaking portentious Latin in the opening minutes? See, whatever happens between Aniston and Cox, you won’t really be too sorry if you miss this finale, will you?
I’ve actually forced myself to watch “Dirt” a few times in the last few weeks. I wrote a negative review of the show after viewing the first three episodes – I found the show made the juicy world of tabloids into a dreadfully pretentious, mind-numbing bore – but I kept giving it a chance.
Why? What was I thinking? If anything, “Dirt” got more painful over time. Each episode was grindingly interminable, and featured ridiculous dream sequences, courtesy of Spiller’s photographer pal, Don Konkey, who’s schizophrenic, and far too many scenes of Courteney Cox’s character having sex with her dolt of a movie-star boyfriend, Holt. Er, no thanks.
The “stars” of Spiller’s version of Hollywood were whiny, pathetic messes, and Spiller herself was cold, ruthless and boring – but not in an interesting way. And the attempts to warm up Spiller by having her demonstrate her love for Konkey were inadequate, at best. “Dirt” not only failed to have some fun with the world of celebrity gossip, but the show was also a frustrating waste of an opportunity to create a compelling female anti-hero. One day, someone will do that, I hope. “Dirt” sure didn’t.
But it wasn’t just the terrifyingly cold Spiller that was the problem. There was not a single reason to invest in any of these characters. It takes sensational storytelling to make you care about people with the morals of pond scum. This was not that show.
I’m racking my brain to think of something nice to say about this show: Oh, I found two nice things! I hated it marginally less than I hated “October Road.” And Spiller’s wardrobe was fierce.
But seriously, if anything can be salvaged from this mess, I hope that Ian Hart, who played Konkey, will get better gigs despite this debacle. He truly did yeoman’s work in his role as the anguished shutterbug, and was really the only marginally tolerable thing about “Dirt.”
Sadly, Aniston’s guest appearance didn’t jazz things up much. If anything, the “Dirt” finale came off as an extended ego-festival, with Jen’s character constantly commenting on how great Courteney’s character was, how “gorgeous” Spiller was, what a great mom Spiller would make (what?!). Every other word out of Harrod’s mouth was “sweetie” and “honey.”
“You’ve got a really big heart and I wish you’d let it show a little more,” Harrod told Spiller over lunch.
Harrod must have spotted something I missed.
Oh, by the way, the finale ends on a cliffhanger, of course. If I cared, I’d spoil it for you and tell you what happened. But sorry, like this series, I’ve run out of gas.

It was announced by Jim Jannard of Red that this will be the first feature to Shoot with the Red One camera. As I understand it will be for the VFX work mostly. They will be using the 3rd camera made. I will be interested to hear how it works out for them and see the result. It will be nice to see it intercut with 35mm

Does Tomkat really expect us to have that short a memory that we wouldn’t remember them squealing laughing and smiling til’ their gums bled and doing all kinds of PDA in public CONSTANTLY?? So uh, NO - that’s NOT “just how they are” UNLESS “just how they are” is how they REALLY ARE, and all the PDA was a lie.
Something to think about.
Odd thing is, B&A played it cool for almost a year and restrained themselves - but let’s say IF, they had continued to do same, no one could say a damn word - except “that’s just how they are.” Because they would have had no other evidence to the contrary. PDA was few and far between. LMAO What a difference a year makes eh??? ;-)
But what you KNOW would happen if B&A acted like Tomkat do now, the rags and tabs would start ripping them apart and saying there was ‘trouble in paradise.’
Thankfully, because Brad and Angelina can’t get up the red carpets now without palming each other’s booties and smootching, and grabbing onto each other and giving looks that tell the world they are in lurrrrve…BAMPZSters don’t have to listen to the tabloid garbage on THAT score.

Your so right! The problem is this has been going on for years! The world has ignored it, you and I! This is nothing new! A group of us have sponsered a young man from Somalia. He has done well. He has gone back to his village to help implement getting a fresh water system to his village. So I think I can take some time to focus on nonsensical issues. Smugglers toss Africa migrants overboard

SAN`A, Yemen - Smugglers taking illegal migrants from Somalia to Yemen forced hundreds of Africans overboard in stormy seas in an effort to make a fast getaway from security forces, officials said Monday. Thirty-one bodies have been found and nearly 90 people remained missing.
Passengers who resisted the smugglers were stabbed or beaten with wooden and steel clubs, then thrown into the water where some were attacked by sharks, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees said, citing survivors.
“Several recovered bodies showed signs of severe mutilation,” UNHCR said. “Survivors also reported that several Ethiopian women and at least one Somali were raped and abused by the smugglers during the voyage from Bosaso in Somalia’s Puntland region. Survivors also alleged that some Yemeni security forces confiscated their money once they reached shore.”
Yemeni officials said several boats were involved in Thursday’s incident. The dead and missing came from a single wooden boat that was carrying around 120 people, said an official from the local government in coastal Shabwa province.
Eight bodies were found Thursday, and another 23 were taken out of water over the past couple of days, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the press.
Another 450 people forced out of other boats at the same time have been rescued, he said. The UNHCR put the number of dead at 29, with 71 missing.
It was the latest case of smuggler brutality involving boats carrying people across the Gulf of Aden from Somalia and the Horn of Africa. It brings the total number of dead and missing among people trying to reach Yemen so far this year to 264.
“We are horrified by this latest tragedy,” said Erika Feller, the UNHCR’s assistant high commissioner for protection.
The victims are people “who are desperate to escape persecution, violence and poverty in the Horn of Africa,” she said.
A similar incident occurred on Saturday, when smugglers forced 140 people into the water elsewhere along the coast. All the migrants were believed to have been rescued, Yemeni officials said. Two other boats carrying 330 Somalis and Ethiopians arrived in Yemen on Saturday, but no casualties were reported, the UNHCR said.
Since January 2006 at least 30,000 people have fled violence and hardship in Somalia and Ethiopia for Yemen, according to UNHCR. About 500 people have died and at least 300 are missing and believed dead.
Out of 88,000 registered refugees in Yemen, about 84,000 are Somali, UNHCR said.

We’ve all seen these pics before but you know what I see in this? A man who seems to be very protective. Let’s face it, even though Brad & X were not officially divorced when they were shooting MMS, that marriage was over because his heart and mind were not into his marriage or X. The consensus at the time was that they did not cheat but Brad was EMOTIONALLY involved with Angelina. I remember on the Today show they had this debate going on with experts (one which included a good friend of mine). Brad seemed to be very protective of Angelina, concerned for her well being as well as Maddox. For some, this emotional concern for another that is not your spouse is the same as sleeping with them. That kind of logic is crazy IMO but you can’t change people’s minds. It’s the same kind of logic that has a married couple living on different coasts of the US full time with no intention of getting together. Many will say that still is a marraige because of the contract. Whateva! It’s all moot at this point.

The 42-year-old British actress, who co-starred with Harrison Ford in 1995’s “Sabrina,” spoke in London to help publicize a new U.N. campaign to combat 21st-century slave trade.
The initiative came a day after the 200th anniversary of the passage of Britain’s anti-slavery law. The goal is to improve enforcement of a 2003 U.N. treaty against human trafficking a crime Ormond described as being largely hidden.
“What we do know is that the statistics are the tip of the iceberg,” she told The Associated Press.
The campaign will improve coordination between governments and organizations that work to fight the problem, said Eva Biaudet, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s special representative on combating trafficking in human beings.
Efforts to fight human trafficking have failed to win broad support because of the difficulties in counting the number of victims, many of whom are unable to seek help, Biaudet said.
“It’s sometimes an excuse that `we don’t have the data, so we can’t do anything about it,’” Biaudet said.
Police worldwide need to apply anti-trafficking laws equally and with the same technology for the networks to be dismantled, Ormond said.
“That’s the crucial part,” she said.

You just don’t have the *good soul* as say, Angelina. Understanding that this is JJ’s blog, I was responding to the idea of deleting someone’s comment because they are interpreted by someone to be a “hater” or post something other than the current topic being discussed. It’s the difference of opinions that makes a blog interesting.
I wouldn’t think that Jared would want to delete a comment bases on percieved intent, but I don’t run the blog either.
IMO, Jared does a great job from what I have seen.

Lots of very very young posters with new names. Recipe swapping, personal lives discussed - pretend parties even with the clink clink word for touching glasses. Very juvenille. Missing all the good links to new photos and interesting articles but apparently it was the previous group that did the good research and had the access. I’m tired of wading through mountains of ridiculous posts to find the occasional good one which are rare and very far between. Stopped lurking for two days and when I came back nothing new just more of the same cat fighting.
E was the only program that led with the Angelina’s brother too thin story to the British magazine. For me this says no one really believes the story, but reported it because they need a AJ/BP story to keep people tuned in. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Peace.

Any new pixs and articles and authentic interviews are posted here as quickly as they are available. There is nothing new, has not been since Angelina returned to LA from Vietnam last Wednesday. If you have been posting here for a while, you would be aware that periodically Brad and Angelina disappear off the media radar for weeks at a time. That’s the way they have tended to operate in the past.
When they first returned from Namibia Angelina was unseen from middle of June until very blurry 4th of July pixs of family in SB, then pixs July 20th or so of Brad, Angelina and Maddox at the beach in Malibu. Brad was seen a few times riding his bike and his first trip to NOLA for Global green rebuilding project in July, that was it until he began filming O13. There have been more pixs of the family in NOLA than ever in LA.
Pixs will eventually pop up, and JJ will have them.
I do post on occasion. I post photos and links to articles etc and respond to the occasional post. My first post of the night stands and I am not whining just stating the truth. You are one of the many who just love having a go - does it get your juices flowing - do you feel proud and keep checking back to see if you have a response. Do you wiggle when another poster joins in with you - then pee your pants like an exited puppy? Please get over yourself.
Yes I am aware that Jared keeps as current has he can. I am talking about other stuff that individuals post — not so much of that these days.
That’s one of my fav pics of Brad and Angie — it’s so romantic looking, the fact that it’s in between shots is what I like about it - we don’t know if they had a significant break, or if it was half a second before they went back to dancing, but it grabs the imagination because you want to know the circumstances.
To me, it looks like Angelina is preparing to step into a shot, and Brad is like saying ‘not yet,’ and that’s why he’s got her like that.
Or it could be, he just needs a reason to touch her.

Hi Cliniqua — I read somewhere that after the movie had originally finished shooting they brought Brad and Angie back to film that dancing scene in the restruant - the one where they are dressed in white. Seems the producers or someone wanted to give the story line a bit more filling out about their meeting. Anyway, if that is true this shot could have been taken then when the relationship was well and truly under way. What do you think about that?

Usually if you don’t know the true story behind a shot, don’t try to overanalyze it. On a movie set where a lot of people are watching is not a place for the kind of romance that was insinuated. These two people played husband and wife, what else do you want? they acted their roles. That was what Kerry Washington who was on the set with them said. Both Brad and Angie said there was no such relationship on set, so end of story.

To BCBG. I just now saw your post on the last thread. I was in Paris last in 2005. I am very bad with numbers, so I must confess that I don’t pay much attention to how much my bank, BOA, charged me for ATM withdrawals. It was something like $3 for each transaction, and I think the credit cards charged 3% of the converted amount. I remember I found out that when I withdrew money at the BNP Paribas ATM(a french bank that you find branches everywhere in Paris), I wasn’t charged. I remember reading something about BOA’s clients not charged by BNP Paribas. As for credit cards, I used a Chase card. And I am not good at finding out who has the best rate either. As Websurfer said, check out Rick Steves’ website, and the forum at Fodor. You can ask questions, and you will get your answers. Sorry I can’t help with money questions. I wrote a post on an old thread for you, regarding taking a walk early in the morning on the Ile Saint Louis, I don’t know if you saw it or not. If you like photography, the best time to take pictures of Notre Dame is in the afternoon, when the sun lights up the facade. The view of the back of the Cathedral is best taken when you are on a Seine Cruise, I think. If you go to Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, in the morning, you can practically have the place for yourself, but then, it’s not as fun as in the afternoon when everybody is there, tourists and street artists. It’s much more fun. As for Rome, if you have time, don’t forget to check out the Bernini sculptures in the Villa Borghese. You have to make reservations, or go in later in the afternoon, if you don’t have one. (At least that’s what I remembered). If it’s your first time to visit, I recommend Rick Steves’ guide books. He tells you everything practical you need to know. (That is if you travel on your own. If you go with a tour group, you don’t need it). When are you going? For how long?

BCBG, Are you saying you are going to change to Euros before you leave? It’s not necessary at all. It’s actually better if you withdrew money from ATM at the airport in Paris. Do not exchange money here, especially at the airport here in the US. The rate is usually very bad. You don’t need to speak French or Italian, English is truly a universal language. Be very careful with your money, especially in Rome. I safety pin everything inside my purse, and you have to wear your purse or bag across your chest, no hanging on one shoulder. Rick Steves recommends a money belt, but if you wear a dress, it’s not convenient. In Rome, the dress code to enter a church or the Vatican Museum is very strict. People get around by bringing shawls, or wrap around skirts. Put them on before entering, take them off when you get out. In June it’s probably will be very hot in Rome. Paris will still be OK, I think. The Vatican Museum visit is a must, but you have to check which day it’s open to the public. They probably has a website you can check for it. Since you won’t have much time in each city, and still, a visit to the Louvre, and Musee d’Orsay is a must. find out first what you really want to see in each, find out in guide books, or on line where those works are, and just go see them, instead of wandering around. Don’t forget to check out the model of Paris under the floor of the d’Orsay (remember Maddox ;) ). Just kidding. The Louvre has so many things, but my favorite is the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The way it’s displayed will take your breath away. If you like open markets, Paris has many of them. Google them, or look in the Michelin Green Guide. They list them there. You won’t have time to climb up to the bell towers of Notre Dame, just go on the terrace of the D’ Orsay, you can have a view of part of Paris. And go on the Eiffel Tower of course, for a sweeping view. I think Besane’s husband is French, maybe she can give you some tips about Paris. There is so much to see in Paris and Rome, you have to go back. The weather is not predictable. When I was in Paris late July 2004, it was on the cool side, and it had some showers, but then in 2003, I think, when they had those big fires in the South, Paris was scorching hot. Rome is usually hot in June and July, and unbearable in August.

BCBG — I went to Italy on a tour with school during February break. One of the kids had problems getting cash with her debit card…the rest, no problem at all. I don’t know if they charged or not, I think we all got a better “bang for our buck” than going to the money changers…who generally gave about 70 euro cents on the dollar. This was my first trip to Europe, and next time, I will do what you are doing. I loved everything I saw, but SO exhausting with a tour! We went from Milan (just flew in there) to Capri in 10 days. We missed seeing the countryside except by bus window (I was so tired, I usually slept!). Which cities are you going to? Don’t worry about speaking Italian, almost all speak a little English, and are happy to help. You should have seen me trying to get tylenol (illegal in Italy, who knew?) or something for my aching knees!

We met first time at the local post office. We were both mailing packages to Seattle. Had to write the return slip and insurance form for her. My mouth dropped, when I read his name on the package. John lived in Vashion Is. for a few years but has since move back to HW. Very nice and friendly lady. We are not close friend ( she is much older) but enough for us to hug or a few times either of us will leave the checkout line or wait outside the store to exchange pleasantries.
Mostly we talked about John, his Daytona bike week visits ( not this past weeks due to dancing practice), movies not many, mostly voice overs. John has a teenage daughter who usually stays with here for a week or two. Seattle was once a great topic. Both our husband hate to fly,she recommended the rail trip( AMTRAK) which she and husband took to Seattle .

Angie’s “Wanted ” and Jen’s “Wanted” are completely different movies.
Angie’s is an action movie based on comic. Jen’s is a suspense and was announced in early 2005 but stilll not developed. Someone wrote Warner is reluctunt to invest it.
I can’t wait to see O13. I have seen O11 and O12. I liked all the seuqels so far. This year and next are good years because there will be plenty of Brad and Angie’s movies. I cannot wait to watch their movies!!!

With Grindhouse all wrapped up and set to debut a week from this Friday, Robert Rodriguez can finally move onto his next film: a sequel to the highly-successful Sin City. Frank Miller has already completed the script, which will based off the story A Dame to Kill For, and the entire crew is currently gearing up to begin production sometime this summer (we think). While there’s still no word regarding Angelina Jolie’s involvement as, well, the dame to kill for, Rodriguez is now dropping a few other big names into the mix — Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas. According to the director, Depp (who starred in Rodriguez’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico) wanted to play Jackie Boy (Benicio del Toro) in the original Sin City, but was too busy shooting The Libertine at the time. Needless to say, Rodriguez wants him to play a bigger role in the Sin City franchise — but that role won’t show up until Sin City 3.
Yes, Sin City 3. Rodriguez told MTV that the third film will revolve around the Sin City story Hell and Back, focusing on a main character named Wallace (to be played by Depp?) who is drugged repeatedly and, subsequently, wanders through the film hallucinating. (So, it’s kind of like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas … but in black and white.) While no deal is in place yet, Rodriguez feels confident that Depp will take the role. As far as Banderas goes, there was no word whether he would fit into part 2, part 3 or both; the actor really wants to take on a role, any role — going so far as to say he’d play the hunchback. Seeing as Rodriguez and Miller are apparently planning two Sin City sequels at the same time, one wonders whether they will be shot back-to-back. According to IMDb, both films are currently scheduled to be released in 2008, though I imagine the latter would roll over into 2009 in order to establish a little bit of breathing room between the two. Thoughts?

He has tremendous star power globally and can choose any movie projects he wants but then Brad Pitt is a family man first and foremost, beloved partner to Angelina Jolie, father to Mad, Z, Pax and Shi. How can we forget what he said to Ann Curry last year in NOLA that fatherhood is the most extraordinary undertaking he has done, that speak volumes of him being the standup guy that Angie considers him to be. His actions despite all the media and tabloid fodder has always been gentile- silence and that speak volumes of a man who doesn’t have to defend himself from his own truth.
To some, say what you want against Brad Pitt but the reality is he is more of a man than you can ever be and that just grates your loser-ego.

I will agree that Angelina is not normal. Because she doesn’t prescribe to the norms that others self righteously speak of. She is individualistic and unique because she lives life on her own terms, not anyone’s elses.

I forgot who was asking, but my daughter and I just returned from visiting London and Paris. We had a wonderful time. We didn’t visit any of the open markets, which we regreat, time constraints. But if you are in the US please inform your bank before you leave that you will be going overseas and will be using your debit card. If you don’t they will put a hold on it, and you will not be able to withdraw money from the ATMs. They will assume it has been stolen. Then just do as you would in the US, withdraw what you need, remember the conversion rates and save your debit slips. Have fun. Peace.

I forgot to mention that part because I didn’t have any problem with the ATMs, but I’ve read in guide books about the matter. I did change my PIN to a 4 digit one, because I read that european ATMs only take 4 digit PINs. I don’t know if it’s true or not, since I never tried to use one that’s not 4 digit.
