One of Pax’s Last Pictures Before Adoption
Here is one of the last pictures of Pax Thien Jolie (front and center) taken in February 2007, shortly before adopted by Angelina Jolie. Pax is posing with other children of from Tam Binh Orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

You know what’s odd — that Nanny issue of STAR has this woman talking about the adoption - and she claims it all happened so fast and Pax was ‘whisked’ away, and she didn’t have time to do this, or do that…blah blah blah. Yet it’s obvious they knew he was going away from this picture because they’ve singled him out in this photograph - if this was ’sometime in Feb’ that would have been at least a few weeks befor AJ got there.
Also, I too think he has a Brad expression, I think it’s the eyes, they go down at the corners — kind of puppy doggish. Glad to see him with his backwards cap too — and that he was stylin’ that way before AJ arrived, otherwise haters would be screaming - look how she’s trying to dress him like she wants and ‘Americanize’ him. God forbid Angelina is like every other Mom in the world.

As for the woman which Star quoted from, that woman is a WORKER at the orphanage. She is NOT part of the administrative staff. I am sure she doesnt know until very late, may be a couple weeks ago.
But it’s NOT out of the ordinary. It’s always the policy of the administrator or the director NOT to discuss with the workers who is going to be adopted.
I am sorry, but a few you and the orphanage director continue to say that Pax resembles Brad. Oyyyy, I can’t see any resemblance period. No doubt that he is a cute boy and so are the rest of Jolie-Pitt’s kids. These kids are adorable cutie pies. I just think they all have their own unique looks. The only resemblance one to the parents is Shiloh and of course she MUST since she’s the only biological in the family so far!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing too. I have that issue of Star right here and I was thinking that maybe that woman who took care of Pax just played the tabs telling them what they wanted to hear so that she could get paid. If so, good for her,lol.

The Star mag. was ridiculous blaming Angelina on whisking Pax abruptly from the orphanage. I’m sure the directors knew when will Angie came and take Pax away, since they are the one who’s responsible for the final approval of the adoption. It’s the director who should inform his staff when to prepared for Pax departure not Angie. Is this another creative writing by the star or the orphanage trying to make some buck from Pax ? the Star never said any good thing on Angie and Brad since they hook-up.
I am sure the woman (worker) at the orphanage told the truth. The problem is the tabloid trying to sensationize everything. They have to write it in a way to make it look like the boy was “whisked” away.
I am in a management level. I dont discuss with my secretary, not the janitor, not the mailman, etc about the finance, policy, direction of the company , because they are NOT part of the “management team”.

JoliePitt, there is something there (re Brad resemblance) - too many people have said it already - lmao…so I definitely think there is one. Hey, they don’t call it ‘the family of man’ for nothin’ (and no, I don’t mean that man, lolol) — nowhere does it say you have to be related or of the same background to look like someone else. I happen to think that Kerry Washington can at times look like Angelina, that Alicia Tyler looks like Charlize Theron, I also think Brad Pitt, Terence Howard and Benecio Del Toro ALL look alike too.
I think it’s the spacing of the eyes, the lids and the expression.

But would it really be right to not inform the woman who has taken care of him for at least three years that he was going away? My mother owned a child care center for over twenty years and there is always an attachment to the kids, so I would think and hope that they told this woman that one of her charges was leaving. I think they told her and A) Star did like you said and sensationalized the story or B) the woman just flat out told them what they wanted to hear so that she could get paid and frankly I wouldn’t blame her. If the people who run the orphanage are going to get paid by the tabs for their big mouths then the low-paid worker should too. She probably had the most interaction with Pax and knew him better than any other adult there.

I hope the public has the education, the brain,and the critical thinking skills in their reading , and NOT eat up anything pringed by all these tabloids.
I agree that this is exploitation, both by the orphanage for releasing the pic and the sites for using it. Pax is not a celebrity. Over exposure leads to wackoes and other nefarious characters getting attached to him for the wrong reasons. No wonder celebrities need bodyguards for their kids!!

Comic writer signs up Jolie as assassinPHIL MILLER, Arts Correspondent
Comic writer Mark Millar has made Superman a Soviet, introduced gay superheroes, and written that the Second Coming will be in America’s Midwest.
But now Millar has pulled off one of the greatest coups in his career: convincing Angelina Jolie to appear in his first motion picture.
Jolie has signed up to appear in a £100m science fiction movie created by the Scottish writer, who lives and works in Glasgow.
Jolie is set to join Scottish actor James McAvoy, star of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Last King of Scotland, and take a leading role in Wanted, which begins shooting in April in Prague.
The actress will star as a leading assassin, called The Fox, in the film to be released next year, which is based on a comic series published three years ago.
He created the Wanted story as an “X-Men meets The Godfather” epic.
Millar has discussed the role with the star and will meet her next month when shooting begins on the film.
He said: “She was asking how I came up with the character and I said I just wanted to write about a girl who was completely lacking in any kind of morality, someone who never regarded the consequences. I think she’s going to have a good time on this: actresses rarely get to play these fun kinds of characters.”
He added: “Angelina’s pretty much the biggest female star in the world right now and so I’m naturally quite pleased about the casting. The only way they could have got a bigger star to play this role is if they’d hired Tom Cruise in drag.”
He added: “She’s spectacular-looking and, as her Oscar proves, a great actress with real depth I think she’s one of the few Hollywood A-listers who could pull this off. The rest of them are very tiny and dainty. Angelina looks like she could kick your head in.”
McAvoy is to play the role of Wesley Gibson in the film, a “put-upon, white collar worker who finds out, after the murder of his father, that he has inherited his spot in an international league of assassins”.
This league of killers, first detailed in comics published in 2003 and 2004, is portrayed as responsible for a series of famous deaths, from John F Kennedy to Diana, Princess of Wales. “Morgan Freeman is the leader of this cult and Angelina is his second-in-command, McAvoy’s mentor,” Millar added.
“I now understand why casting directors are so well-paid. It really is a skill to figure out who can bring a character to life and work together as a team. There are four big names in this picture and Angelina is the third of the four released. There is another big male star (to be) announced inside the next week or two. But the people involved in this are already way, way beyond anything I imagined for the first movie I actually own.”
Millar is one of the world’s leading comic writers and works for Marvel. He has made a name in the industry despite never having worked in the US. In 2000, Millar almost moved to America to work for Warner Brothers but took a job with Marvel instead. “This meant I could commute to New York every couple of months as opposed to living in San Diego, which the Warner Brothers job entailed,” he said.
“Ten or 15 years ago it was essential to live there, but with e-mail you could be living in the South Pacific and still make your deadlines.
“I have a big, close family and we didn’t want to take my daughter, who was then just a baby, away from all that.”
Millar has two other films in development, and his ultimate aim is to inspire a dozen in the next 10 years. He has already written a sequel to Wanted, although he has no ambition to be a director or a screen writer.
“All the Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and X-Men franchises have been around for a while so there’s a real gap in the market I want to fill,” he said.

Susie, usually if the show is in reruns then I just watch Countdown :) How are you doing hun? I’m good but I need some feedback. I was flipping through the channels this weekend and I saw a clip of a dogsitter who used a spray bottle of water to stop the pup from biting him…is that ok? He only sprayed the pup’s head or body and it seemed to work. I’m the only person that Jammy nips at the LEAST excluding strangers, it’s pretty bad when my nieces come over because he really goes the 2-year-old (Olivia). She can’t get off the couch because of his nipping.

Please, why should he smile when he’s got his kickass sister Zahara to teach him the ropes of how to deal with paps? She’ll teach him how to give paps the ‘look’ when you see them around you. As Brad said, they tell their kids that the paps are ‘crazy people’.

Amaya- The water bottle is ok. I forgot that me and my parent’s used that with a Husky we had growing up. Our Husky was the queen of biting and it hurt so we did spray her, but in the face, and it did work. She was really wild though and that lasted almost for 4 years. You didn’t even wasnt to be in the same room she bit so much. One time I was walking her and we were crossing the coast hwy and she jumped up behind me and bit my butt a few times. So, spray bottle is ok and they make bitter apple spray that you can spray on your funiture if he starts chewing on it. My Rottweiler chewed the back of my couch and my shoes if they were laying around. How is he otherwise?

Income tax return: My friend invested on a Fixed Annuity say $25 thousand for a 6 year term invested on 2004. Earned interest as of now is $1048.73. She is planning to withdraw needed the money. She will be penalized for early withdrawal. My question is on her 2007 income tax return, she was told by her income tax lady that she will be penalized 10% of the earned interest $1048.73 = $104.87 >> the the amount she have to pay ? is that correct? BTW - as much as Jolie is an international lady visiting more than 30 countries and finds home to be in London and Cambodia, she is not only a Cali girl but she is a New Yorker.
She grew up in New York until 11 and then headed to Cali.
She came back here to study in NYU and continues to maintain an office here.
Her attitude - what you see is what you get, and her easy-going, tolerant personality - gets her to appreciate all the crazy, fast-paced and diverse nature of the ‘city’. Okay, I found these two quotes that Angie said. I think the first one is twisted up a little bit and is not in it’s original form. I’m not sure though.

Angelina never ceases to amaze me with her mothering skills. She was right to hire an independent interpreter to break the ice and assist in the communication, instead of using that orphanage worker who used to care for him. Obviously she thought Pax was her ticket to the big times and she was going to come along to the USA for a period. Who knows what the hell she might have told Pax to keep him dependent on her and to keep her slick self in the US.
As I said, Angie has grown ianto a wise woman. She are Brad make so many wise decisions regarding the kids. Like taking Madd and Zee along to engage Pax and help his transition. You know, I’m always happy for an ‘against all odds type love story or just story in general’. I know I’m a sap. Anyway, I’ve always thought that Brad and Angie are that kind of story, they are together and in love and raising their kids and doing more movies, and doing their humanitarian work, ‘against all odds’. People predicted doom and gloom for them from the get go and as much as the tabloids still write trash about them, I don’t think it’s as bad as the early part of their relationship. As the years go by and people see how much of a close-knit family they are and the good they are doing, you’ll see less and less people bashing them. Proof: when staunch haters Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Joe Scarborough, Ted Casablanca, can look past their hate and start to see the good that they are doing, then you know the tide is shifting. It might not be shifting as fast as we want, it might be shifting at a snail speed, but make no mistake that it’s definitely shifting.

More like a break from sanity.
I don’t get why some who don’t give a d@mn about this family is losing their $h*t over someone’s observation. And the dude from the orphanage wasn’t saying that Pax was the living image of Brad; he merely stated that, in terms of his past experiences, the children he adopted out sometimes bares a resemblance to their adoptive parent. He referenced Brad’s manner and disposition, not his physical appearence.
Mind you, I do think that there is some resemblance.

I have never paid much attention to tabloid news, so I have no idea what Angelina Jolie believes about God or religion. Maybe she’s one of those scientologists, like Tom Cruise. Who knows?
Here is what I do know. Angelina has, numerous times, presented the gospel. She likely does not even know she is doing it! She is beautiful, famous, and fabulously wealthy. She has the means to choose her life and live it as she pleases. She could attempt to keep herself in the news by pulling Brittany Spears type of stunts. But she doesn’t.
It seems to me that she goes along, and other than dating Brad Pitt, lives her life outside of the media. And then she hones in on an extremely poor country. An orphanage. A specific child. She swoops in and adopts the child. Nobody knows why she chose the child she did. Before she came into Pax Thien’s life, he was a nobody. An orphan. Nobody knew who his mother was–he was completely abandoned. There was nothing he could do to change his status.
Angelina came in and chose him to be her own. Her fame, her wealth, her position, her nationality become his. He now has a family, and it is made up of other orphans, just like himself. He now has a future and a hope.
And so, even without intending to do so, Angelina has preached the love of God for His children by mirroring His adoption of us. I am blown away by the ways God allows Himself to be mirrored in nature and in His fallen world.

Angelina’s Brother Worried About Her Weight

Angelina Jolie’s brother, James Haven, says that his sister has lost her famous curves because she is still mourning the death of their mother, who passed away in January.
“Angie has become very thin because she’s grieving,” Haven told the British publication The Mail on Sunday. “It’s even difficult for her to eat. I keep saying to her, ‘Don’t forget to eat.’”
Marcheline Bertrand provided stability in her children’s lives after separating from Jon Voight in 1976, shortly after Jolie’s birth. For that reason, her death from cancer at the age of 56, has been devastating to Haven and Jolie, 31.
Last month, Usmagazine.com reported that emotional distress over Bertrand’s passing had caused the 5-foot-8 Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress to drop to 109 pounds.
“But you know she doesn’t pay much attention to food anyway and she’s been going through a process of grief like me,” Haven explained. “She has not wanted to eat, nor has she been able to.”
Part of the reason for Jolie’s loss of appetite may stem from the fact that she associates cooking with her mother’s memory.
“There was very much that home feeling when we came back from school,” Haven recalled to the Mail. “Angie and I would walk in and comment on how we could smell things cooking and baking in the kitchen.
He continued: “Or she’d be in the middle of cooking and pick up a carrot and teach us about the vegetable or the fruit so that it was visual as well. Angie is now the same with her kids.”
Haven, who famously shared a kiss with his sister following her Best Actress Oscar win in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted, says that Bertrand’s death has only deepened his connection with Jolie, as well as her bond with her adopted children.

Comic writer Mark Millar has made Superman a Soviet, introduced gay superheroes, and written that the Second Coming will be in America’s Midwest.
But now Millar has pulled off one of the greatest coups in his career: convincing Angelina Jolie to appear in his first motion picture.
Jolie has signed up to appear in a £100m science fiction movie created by the Scottish writer, who lives and works in Glasgow.

Millar is one of the world’s leading comic writers and works for Marvel. He has made a name in the industry despite never having worked in the US. In 2000, Millar almost moved to America to work for Warner Brothers but took a job with Marvel instead. “This meant I could commute to New York every couple of months as opposed to living in San Diego, which the Warner Brothers job entailed,” he said.
“Ten or 15 years ago it was essential to live there, but with e-mail you could be living in the South Pacific and still make your deadlines.
“I have a big, close family and we didn’t want to take my daughter, who was then just a baby, away from all that.”
Millar has two other films in development, and his ultimate aim is to inspire a dozen in the next 10 years. He has already written a sequel to Wanted, although he has no ambition to be a director or a screen writer.

Income tax return: My friend invested on a Fixed Annuity say $25 thousand for a 6 year term invested on 2004. Earned interest as of now is $1048.73. She is planning to withdraw needed the money. She will be penalized for early withdrawal. My question is on her 2007 income tax return, she was told by her income tax lady that she will be penalized 10% of the earned interest $1048.73 = $104.87 >> the the amount she have to pay ? is that correct? Without knowing and reading the specifics, it seems that in 2007 she will need to pay income tax on her interest earnings. The way to know is to find out if the annuity company send her any Form 1099. If they do, she will have to report them, meaning she may have to pay tax. (Anytime you receive a Form 1099, the IRS will always receive one, meaning the IRS is aware of that amount. The IRS also matches what you report to their computer). Note, I say tax on the interest income. I did NOT say PENALTY.
The tax theory is always that , generally, if in the past, she has not paid or reported those interest, then when she received those interest, those interest income is definitely taxable unless the interest is from the tax free municipal bond which most of the time is tax exempt.
From what you told me, I dont think there will be any penalty from the IRS. She definitely will pay income tax on her interest, but there should NOT be a penalty from the IRS.. Could this penalty befrom the annuity/insurance company because of early withdrawal ?

They just do not learn from all their past failed efforts to somehow wedge this family apart. Angelina and Brad make their own independent decisons and do not telegraph those decisions to the world at large until they want to. They are taking the time to bond with Pax, and to strengthen their family ties out of sight of the media. Angelina was last seen last Wednesday March 21st leaving Vietnam, and Brad has not been seen since the pixs taken on March 15th. Those close to them shield them well.

Thanks guys. You know I call that blog ‘Kool Aid” because they believe that what they are reading is truth. Some eople think that Kool Aid is a nutritional drink.
The issue of Pax’s birth mother wanting him back, although not true, shouldn’t not even have been posssible. The orphanage released too much info about his birth, his mother’s circumstances, date he was left and where etc. etc. That made no sense…it was not called for and could easily allow parents to identify him as their boy, who abandoned him permanently to rethink their abandonment, now he has a rich family.
The very media that spread the details around the globe will help to find the mother and bring her to America just to have a story. They don’t care who they hurt. they did the same garbage with Madonna’s son and the father. They put words into his mouth and became the conduit of false information all round causing “bad blood”. The media should stay out of adoptions. These are real people, real lives, real emotions.

VietNamNet Bridge – Any information that Pax Thien Jolie’s mother intended to demand her baby back was false, said Tam Binh Orphanage’s director Nguyen Van Trung in an interview with Saigon Giai Phong newspaper.
According to Mr Trung, before Tam Binh Orphanage officially adopted Pax Thien Jolie, or Pham Quang Sang, the orphanage tried to find Sang’s relatives through a newspaper ad, but there was no answer within 30 days. Sang thus was legally an orphan. Accordingly, it was the orphanage’s director who signed the agreement to give Sang to his foster parent, not any grandparent or parent of his.
So is there any legal foundation on which Sang’s mother can ask for her child back? Mr. Trung said such a thing was absolutely impossible.
“Not mentioning that Sang’s mother didn’t claim her baby when the orphanage advertised in newspapers, the fact that she abandoned her child is enough to hold her accountable before laws, let alone demand her child back!” he said.
Mr. Trung also said that after Angelina Jolie signed the paper with the HCM City Department of Justice, Pham Quang Sang officially became her child.
“If, in the future, Sang’s biological mother comes to the orphanage, we will only provide her with such information as that Sang has been adopted, and where and how he lives. As for demanding Sang back, it is absolutely impossible,” the director said.
Before the adoption, Sang went through testing at the HCM City Pasteur Institute, which affirmed that the child was completely healthy, HIV-free, and free of any liver problems as well as other contagious diseases,” he said.

They are probably the same people who came here the past two weeks insisting that Angie would not come back to the US because she had left Brad, but go with her kids to Europe. They are the people who believed US Weekly when they claimed that Angie had gone with ALL (Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh) to pick up Pax and so that meant that she had left Brad. I remember going on a blog when I first started looking for information about Brad/Angie and went to a certain board and was reading the earlier postings about Angie/Brad from when they started their relationship. The rumors and such that were flying about them, more specifically, the timelines that were being drawn on their relationship was just too much. The funny thing was that the timelines started becoming longer and longer as the months progressed. I even read one that had a poster be so sure that A&B would be done by October of last year because of course Angie would get bored and tired of Brad and it would be time for her to move on. October came and went and the timelines started becoming a year, two years, three years, and the longest one I read was six years. Too funny. The thing people need to realize is that Brad and Angie are unpredictable and they are not going to follow any script you lay out for them. They are going to follow only their script and tough luck to whoever doesn’t agree.

I don’t know why no one has answered you jolierocks and if you are a ahter in disguise then I apologize to the regulars for answering. But anyway the answer is no……Pax was abandoned and no one knows who is birth mother is. I wouldn’t doubt that all sorts of women are going to come out of the woodwork claiming to be his mother now that he is known all over the world and because of who his preants are now but I seriously doubt any of them are telling the truth. Even if his birth mother did come forward and some kind of DNA test were done to prove it she would not have any rights because she abandoned him. Personally as a mother I think that is the worst thing you can do to your child.

ITAWY. Forget that a child and that child’s new family ties are fragile and the family is just beginning the bonding process. Too much info was given out to the world media by those in Vietnam. I imagine that the processing of Pax’s Vietnamese paperwork was sped up by a couple of days (I had read that Angelina was expected to stay in Vietnam until March 24th when she first arrived) when the paps descended on Vietnam and the authorities realized that the provision of all what should have been confidential info might endanger Pax and other children at his orphanage. I do not believe that those in Vietnam, still pretty much a closed society, had ever seen anything like the hoards of paps. They have now learned a valuable lesson, silence is truly golden. Vietnamese officials will probably now emulate the American Consulate actions in Hanoi, give out no info as it is none of the paps business, and may impose tighter restrictions on the paps. Those pixs of paps throwing things under the car with Angie and the two boys in it to stop the car and get pixs was beyond anything that should have been allowed to happen.
I too expect long lost family members to appear out of the woodwork even though NO ONE visited this child for THE ENTIRE THREE YEARS AND THREE MONTHS THAT HE RESIDED IN AN ORPHANAGE, and am very happy to hear that according to Vietnamese law Pax’s adoption is final. That’s how it should be.

oh! Because other relationships in the media have failed, your judgment is not concrete enough. Yes, there’s a possibility that Brad and Angie may walk that route one day just like any normal relationships, but you should be open minded. The minute you come out saying, they will walk that route and place them in the same shoes as other failed relationships in the media, is the minute I can tell you that you’re close minded and have short thinkings. Another words, you’re stupidity and the ability to analyze is completely abnormal. True, some relationships in the media have gone separate ways, but you have no guarantee that brad and angie will. Every relationship and couple is different. I have analzyed and have seen Brad been with many relationships and I have seen Angie as well. These two people are most honest and loyal people in all their past relationships, but their partners aren’t in the same page with them. With Brad and Angie being and have always been loyal and honest in their relationship, I’d do see that they will go to the extents to work it out under any circumstance (s) to save their relationship. These two have similiar interests and goals, which in their previous relationships don’t. They love children and they always push and support each other to be and do better. They challenge each other to do better and I am sure they compromise as well, depending on circumstance (s). In any relationship I believe if both can challenge each other, is a healthy and good relationhip. Excitements and and a turn on is there, how can anyone anyone get curious, c’mon!!! As a competitor myself, I don’t like to lose and will continue to strive for the better physcially and mentality, but with limits, knowing when to draw the lines, which I believe is exactly what Brad and Angie do as competitors. ITA with you. It irritates me when birth parents are given 2nd/3rd/4th chances when it comes to regaining the children that they lost/gave away. The problem is that most western countries don’t follow thru with the permanent part. I just saw on the news that a child with Down Syndrome drowned in the bathtub after being returned to her birth mother; the child was removed due to unsanitary conditions in the household and the place was still a shambles when the child and her other siblings were returned to their ‘mother’.
I still wonder if the Corpse Bride will get her two kids back, despite sleeping in while her two year old kid ran bare-footed down an Indiana expressway.

ITA. So many children remain in permanent foster care in the US, and are not adoptable because parental rights have not been terminated. Many of these children have been returned to their parents a number of times, only to have child protective services called to pick the children up again because of harm caused by their socalled parents. It is a sad sad situation. The best interests and well being of a child is to have a stable loving family, not be a ping pong ball.

Sorry, but while I adore Brad, he is not Bond material. He’s gorgeous, yes, he can be dangerous too, but he’s too all-American for the part. Bond belong to the Brits and I doubt that they would stand for it. Besides, I haven’t seen Daniel Craig’s take on Bond yet, but I gotta say, I am appreciating his thighs, chile!

He has this calm demeanor about him when there is chaos all around him. He’s going to be like his mom, a born leader, but with a wild streak and bit of punk in him. Maddox is definitely’s a mama’s boy while Z seems to a daddy’s girl. Actually, she probably rules the roost and has both of her parents dancing to her tune.
I can’t quite figure out about Shiloh yet. Sometimes, she looks just like Brad and at other times, she looks like Angelina. I believe her personality will be more quiet, laid back, tom boyish, yet very sweet. Z is fierce while Maddox is spunky.
Even though everyone says Shiloh will be the one who will grow up to be the actress, I’m placing my bet on Zahara becoming the most likely to work in movies like her parents.

I remember Daniel Craig once mentioned around the time he was doing worldwide promotion for the Bond movie that he loved working with Angelina. It was really sweet of him. I’d love to know what Gerald has to say. I wonder if any of them developed a crush. I know Colin Farrel did. Perfectly understandable. I’m not sure if I want Brad and Angelina to do another movie together, but I wouldn’t mind if they remade movies like Penny Serenade or The Lady Eve– mind you, The Lady Eve shouldn’t be touched at all, but Brad does have that innocent quality that Fonda had and Angelina can definitely fill Stanwyck’s shoes. And there is something about Brad and Angelina that encourages a teasing/torture fantasy, with Brad on the receiving end. Again, it’s that innocence that Brad has.

I read that she was in Chicago (alone) too.
I think that Angelina is in so much demand for films right now like Cate Blanchett was last year when she shot 3 or 4 films almost back to back (she said she had a weekend to prepare for The Good German with Clooney, her schedule was just that tight). CateB said that all the films offered her were so good that she just could not turn them down.
Atlas Shrugged does not look like it will go into production until next year, while Wanted is this spring/early summer, and Changling is early fall. Angie is sort of a supporting actress in Wanted, and starring in Changling(Eastwood shoots films fast, he does not waste any time). The role in Wanted was especially written for her, wow, she has the power.
Brad is to star in State of Play starting in November, and I read it will be filmed in Washington, DC. Didn’t Angelina mention in the past that she planned to spend some time lobbying Congress for bills she supports?

March 26, 2007 issue - Angelina Jolie began traveling as a good-will ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) some six years ago. She has visited the victims of violence in Africa, Pakistan and Cambodia—first as an observer in the background, then using her fame to draw attention to the plight of the helpless. Recently the movie star visited a refugee camp housing Darfur refugees in Chad. NEWSWEEK’s Christopher Dickey spoke to her about her mission. Excerpts:
DICKEY: What was your original motivation for working with the UNHCR, for doing these kinds of trips?
JOLIE: I started traveling about seven years ago with film. I would go to places like Cambodia and hear about the many refugees in Thailand and hear about the land mines and hear about the history … I remember sitting up for two days straight and reading everything obsessively. I read about the UNHCR, and I realized it was an agency that I didn’t know anything about: that they were taking care of 20 million people … And I remember realizing that I couldn’t understand how I had not known that my whole life.
When did it occur to you that you could do something about this directly? Did people approach you, or—
I approached them. I think they thought I was a little crazy.
When was this?
Six years ago. I was very nervous to call the U.N. agency at the time. I [was] considered a rebel in Hollywood. At the time I was also a bit of a wild child. So first I went to Washington [to the UNHCR office] and I sat with everybody there and said, “You know, I know you don’t know me. You might have heard things about me … And I don’t want to bring negative attention to your agency. If you could just help me, I’ll pay my way.”
I spent the next year and a half going to, first, two camps in Africa, and then Pakistan and Cambodia. And with no cameras and with no press, and had the opportunity to have this great education before I spoke at all … I was transformed in such an amazing way.
But you do have photographers following you now.
It took me a while to agree to do it. I guess I saw that so many times the picture comes before the knowledge and the substance and I certainly didn’t want to do that to myself or the organization. And also, I really just was shy. I was shy about sitting on the floor and talking to a woman and having a camera take a picture because I thought it was making less of my conversation with her. But [then I thought,] let the people speak for themselves through the camera. And if I can draw you in a little because I’m familiar, then that’s great. Because I know that at the end you’re not looking at me, you’re looking at them.
I think it’s fair to say people start out by looking at you, Angelina.
As long as they end up looking at them, that’s the point.
Do you worry about people who say this is celebrity tourism?
I don’t know if anybody saying that has spent the last six years of their life going to over 30 camps and really spending time with these people. I can’t care.
Do you still go with so few people? I can’t believe you take no one with you …
I take no one. I [go] by myself on a commercial plane and into the field with my backpack.
You still do that?
Yes, I just did that on my last trip. I met the photographer there.
When you got there, what were the people saying about their situation? There are photographs with this boy tied to a tent pole.
The little boy was a normal 3-year-old who disappeared for 48 hours after [his village was bombed]. I can only imagine what he saw. And when found, he was found in a state … As a first reaction you want to remove [the rope]. But the mother, she has four other kids, she’s by herself. Therapists visit him, but if [he's] left alone he will disappear or bang himself. I talked to him for like half an hour and just kind of looked at him for a long time before he touched me, and there was a little boy in there who was open to a kind sound … There’s a normal little kid right there, but he’s got a look of fear. He’s nervous to touch. And you can feel that need for safety. The mother unfortunately can’t not go work for the other children and can’t sit with him all day long and hold him, which is probably what would do some good. But what he needs is probably some serious therapy. [There are] lots of children like him there.
Do you despair?
Certainly, at times. The first two years I just cried constantly, like a woman does.
Oh, like anybody does.
Yes, like anybody does, thank you. And I went through a period of just complete lack of hope. And then I went through a period of anger that smart, articulate people in power have not been able to answer these issues and define ways of intervention. And that it just keeps going on. About a year ago, I got a lot of books on international law and I tried to study what was going on. I don’t want to have to keep going back to camps, five different times, over the next 30 years of my life, [for situations] that there are no solutions for.

piper, with a low - And vice-versa. I’d love to see a ‘wicked’ (Angie’s words) Pitt and a thrown-of-her game Jolie. There was a little bit of that in MAMS when Pitt went in to get Brody’s character relying on instincts when Jolie’s tech went awry.
Jolie has precision moves and her reactions to unknown elements is so cool.
Pitt seems to mix it up pretty well to do that. hehehe!
I think there is more to delve between Pitt and Jolie’s onscreen interaction.
They need to inhabit foreign mind-bodies and environment to get a real feel for the interaction to come across. I think sci-fi, thriller would be great. Bring out the bad-a__ in them. LOL!

And I was happy and hot and accomplishing a lot and running around, and I could feel my heart beating, and I felt beautiful. And barefoot or first thing in the morning, I feel beautiful. Because I feel like me. I didn’t always feel that way, but I feel that way now. You promise you’ll only comeback for the break up? Because I get the feeling you were one of those people who thought Brad and Angelina were supposed to be a six month fling. Then you probably extended the break up deadline to a few more months, then after Angelina moved in with Brad, then after Brad filed for adoption of Maddox and Zahara, then after Angelina gave birth to Shiloh, and now after they’ve adopted Pax, you’re deadline for the break up must have been pushed back again.

I LOVE these photos, so endearing and obviously exuding mother/child love…also in point for those critics who think Pax will suffer being apart of this family “ripped away” from his native country, blah, blah, blah. Maddox is a happy child as demonstrated in these photos. These photos are definitely keepers.
re: critics who wonder why Z doesn’t smile, children don’t usually smile automatically at strangers, let alone strangers out of nowhere taking pictures of them. Children are naturally cautious and adults have to prove they are trustworthy before children open up. These people obviously are not around children and have no concept of child development, nor actually do I think they care…they are just out to criticize and judge without foundation or experience.

Brad will be in Prague with Angelina, and she will be in the states with Brad when he is promoting O13. The old Angelina never left the house, she is part of the “today” Angelina, and Brad is part of her life as are her children. Welcome, Angelina! Amid all the news about her latest adoption, Angelina Jolie found time to do some movie work in Chicago, a source tells me.
She flew to the Windy City without Brad Pitt and the family Friday to do screen testing for her new flick “Wanted,” according to a set source. The sexy actress is scheduled to shoot most of the scenes for the action movie in Prague within the next few weeks. However, the source said she is expected to film in the Windy City later this summer.
“She’ll be filming a lot of action scenes in cars,” the source told me. While she was here, Jolie test-drove some Dodge Vipers that will be used for the film. The Chicago Film Office could not be reached for comment on Sunday.
When Angie films on location she usually brings the whole family to her movie set. Does this mean we can anticipate Brad, Maddox, Zahara and Pax sightings galore?
I read that she will be April and May in Prague and then she will shoot in Chicago in the summer but I think in the next 2 weeks we’ll get more info and I can’t wait to know who is the movie start to join the cast, the writer was talking about.

No one was able to dig up any friend ’sources’ to say negative comments about Pitt’s life-altering actions.
Instead, all friend ’sources’ have said the ‘Old Brad is back’ and ‘Brad has been the happiest they’ve ever seen him’.
And a little blast from the past: I remember when the Bennifer was in full swing and the papz caught Affleck in Las Vegas throwing around tons of dough, the papz had pictures of Affleck leaving a strippers’ bar and lo and behold, they spotted Pitt inside with amigos, Clooney and Gerber, getting lapdances. I’m not sure but the papz had him caring less about his surroundings.
I’ve heard [I know Las Vegas casino ppl] that those three were quite regulars in Las Vegas around that time and constantly cheering Pitt up.
His buds helped keep that marriage alive longer than it should have.
