Sanjaya Rocks the Ponyhawk

He did it again tonight, didn’t he?

American Idol’s Sanjaya Malakar sang his own rendition of No Doubt’s “Bathwater” and sported the FUNKIEST HAIRDO TO DATE — A PONYHAWK! Part-mohawk, part-fauxhawk, part-BEAST!!!!!

Randy said, “Dude, I’m speechless. Every time. It’s weird, you got the dog speechless. The hair is definitely interesting. I like the kinda mohawk look. At the end of the song, you sang that one long note at the end and you sang a little run. You actually can sing if you just put it out there.”

Paula said, “If you had the gumption. If you had the ability to totally go for it, it would fit the wackiness of the fauxhawk. To watch you on stage and not go for it, we’re kinda like come on, you can do it.

Simon said, “I presume there was no mirror in your dressing room tonight. I don’t think it matters anymore what we say. I genuinely don’t. You’re in your own universe and if people like you, then good luck.”

And in response to Simon’s comment regarding his ponyhawk, Sanjaya quipped, “You’re just jealous you couldn’t put it off.”

Sorry to post again but I wanted to mention that every week am I always looking forward to seeing what Sanjaya is going to do next, I remember during the commercial break when Ryan anounced Sanjaya is next, and I was all excited, people love and I believe the people that are against him will grow to like him as the show progress, he can sing

WTF! Sanjaya knows he’s a joke , he didn’t even try . TERRIBLE! Simon is right, it doesn’t matter what the judges say when it comes to him.
gina and chris richardson were my favs tonight. Dolittle and Lakiesha always sound good but they are so predictable. i was looking forward to blake singing that awesome cure song ,but it feel flat:(

Sanjaya, Sanjaya is my man, if he can’t win American Idol, no one can.(just Kidding!!!!). I think he should go to the next round for that ponyhawk alone. Only a true diva can get away with wearing that hairstyle. Sanjaya wasn’t bad, not great, but most of the contestants were not great tonight either. Sanjaya to the next round. Still rooting for Melinda to win.

he is just a waste of time, personally. i wish i could laugh at him, it would at least be something.

I cannot imagine why this guy is still on AI…America has proven they have no clue what constitutes talent…I don’t know who votes for him…at this point, I don’t even care anymore…I have been unimpressed with the talent minus about 3 people…he proves that this is not a singing competition…in fact, I have no clue what this show is anymore…so disappointing…if he can stay over Stephanie from last week, then that should be the answer to American voters right there…we prove we have no freaking clue in politics or singing…

I dont take this show seriously. I watch it for the laughs and entertainment. If it was, then Melinda is already the winner. But she probably won’t win. The only time Idol got it right was with Kelly and Carrie. It is not a singing competition but rather a popularity contest. If you can’t beat them, join them. Go Sanjaya!

Sanjaya is deff great entertainment, but the kid can’t sing. He clearly forgot his words at one point. He’s the joke of the show, and that is why it isn’t taken very seriously this year. hopefully people will realize that the people who deserve a chance to be thier will stay and others (sanjaya) will leave

I love laughing at this gay loser. Go Sangaya! I think its cool that people are keeping him around so we can have something to laugh at every week, with him off the show, it would be a serious contest, but with him there, we get a few mins of comic relief.

with that said, his voice sucks, this performance was horrible, the hair was even worse. I think Sangaya is making fun of America… while we all make fun of him. I hope he stays.

Oh yea, I don’t know who his stylist is, but they need to chill with these clothes, he’s a sweet tart, he should dress like it. this tough, rough, rock, hip image looks ridiculous on him.

Im impressed with his hair myself I want to be a Sanjaya myself!!! He’s supper cool, imagine him on MTV yo! I think it was a self sabotage. This year has no one remotely interesting. I’ve watched the show since it’s been on. This is the worst. year. ever. Sanjaya has the most name recognition though and should ride that train all the way to the bank.

He the reason to watch. The other people on the show are fine singers. But not stars that are going to sell CDs. I don’t look forward to seeing any of them but Sanjaya. Frankly IMO AI may be close to jumping the shark.

Oh Jared - Animating Sanjaya!!!!!!!!! Please don’t torture us like this.

I stood there in disbelief watching this kid - it’s a total joke. I can’t believe he even allowed himself to go out in front of millions of people with his hair like that.

Last night Gina and the dude who looks like Nosferatu were the best vocally. Lakisha and Melinda are totally in a different league and are always good, but I don’t know that last night they had like WOW performances. I really don’t think any of them did really. I wish Jordin would have sung something other than Hey Baby - she would have been better singing something that was actually lyrical and a song. Not that I don’t love HeyBaby!

I agree this is the worst season of idol so far, but the final four will be Lakisha, Melinda, Blake and Jordin. That’s who I think it should be.

I can’t wait so see Gwen tonight - I thought it was funny when she commented that even Lakisha and Melinda should be giving her singing tips. The girl knows that she isn’t the best singer in the world. I thought she looked absolutely beautiful last night with the paired down make-up and elegant hairdo. Just beautiful.
