Ocean’s 13 Trailer

Wow, you’re really getting me psyched up about this movie, Jared, and I usually hate going to the movies (expensive food, people chatting on cell phones, sticky floors, etc) but I am going to watch this movie. Brad looks hot, and the movie looks like it would be funny, not like the clunker O12.

By the way, good morning, Jared, and thanks for the new thread! The last one was getting a little too intense for me.

All the “oceans” movies are the lame.
This one is probably going to be too.

I think it actually looks good compared to 12. I loved 11 but 12 was not good. But I don’t know how you can actuallysay it is total hype when you have not seen the movie yet. The movie isn’t even out how do you know it is all hyped? At least wait until you see it.

Angelina To Get Her Own Blog

This was posted at SoulieJolie.

Piece of gossip I saw on TV today. Would be interesting if it turns out true but I dunno. It said after being unhappy with regular press stories that are untrue, Angelina is going to be one of the first Hollywood stars to have her own blog. In it she will clear up any rumours that are circulating, confirm about any new movies, and stuff like that. They said her people are aiming to have it up by the end of the month. By that I guess they might mean the end of April, since the end of this month is tomorrow

… so far, just a gossip.

The Ocean’s series has a built in fan base since it began with O11, check the world wide gross of the last 2, it is mind boggling. The buddy chemistry of Brad and George is great and the rest of the cast. I hope that Brad and George will do another movie together with maybe George directing.

For Ocean’s 11 the cast did go on Oprah. Ocean’s 12 they were interviewed on primetime by Diane Sawyer. It will be interesting to see who will get the cast interview this time around. If it is in fact Diane Sawyer I’m positive she will show that last moments of the interview when she asked everyone what was next and Brad said, “do I dear say it, I’m just going to go ahead and put it out there, children”. That broke my heart, at the time I liked Brad but it was after that interview that I became a fan. The man was practically in tears when he said children. He was so scared and nervous to even say the words as if saying the word out loud would bring about some bad karama. Diane will not be able to resist the irony that now he is the father of four.

I know this question was not for me but the last time he was on Oprah was for the Troy promotion. I noticed he was very careful with his answers to her questions. He didn’t let her get pass the wall he had up but it was on Oprah that he said he didn’t know if marriage was forever or something to that effect. That is when I knew there were problems in his marriage. I don’t know if they are on good terms or not. Oprah did publicly take sides in the divorce. She may not have uttered a bad word about Brad or Angie but the “Jen tour” when she had JA on there like 3 times in 6 months, twice to address rumors and to discuss how great she is, what a survive she is, how she is moving on ( like she was the first person to ever go through a divorce) I would say he might not have appreciated that. But I think JA lying aboy about the VVaughn relationship seems to have cooled her jets where Jen is concerned an in turn she has mentioned Brad and Angie several times on her show in reference to Africa and their multi-cultural family in very favorable terms.

Oh well, DS has this program and he does this supposedly funny skit using paper dolls of celebrities. He had the entire jolie-pitt family represented.. kids and all. Angie was explaining to her kids why she was going back to work so soon after promising to be a stay at home mom!! anyway I dont want to repeat it all but DS had Brad saying that he couldnt help explain to the kids because he was taking care of the R E A L baby(Shiloh!) That made my blood boil!

Earlier DS reported that Pax’s birth mom was going after Angie for money and Ds said that made Jen Aniston have to go to the hospital with the case of the giggles!

I just think it is wrong to include kids in such “humor”.

She had the x on after the VF article and they had champagne and toasted x’s surving skills. Oprah was supportive, and didn’t say anything negative about BP/AJ but she called x her best friend. X even stayed at Oprah’s guest house with several of her best friends. They had a sleep over with Oprah attending. X was on there two other times with news about VV. Recently she has had good things to say about BP/AJ and their charitable works and their adoptions. It is not elaborate, but it is not negative. Peace.

Actually, I was the same way. I was a fan of Brad’s way back even before Thelma and Louise. I loved him in the levi’s commercial. Yet I lost a bit of interest after his marriage… his interviews were not as interesting nor his movie choices in my opinion. For me, Brad stopped being the Brad I had become so interested in. The past couple of years, I have seen the old Brad.. the adventerous Brad… the Brad who loved to travel on a whim… whether just exploring European villages or searching for the Loch Ness monster. lol. This was a guy who would keep bicycles all around the world just in case he happened to visit again.

I love that he gets to travel now.. as well as have a home with a loving and supportive partner.. as well as the children he has so longed for.

I don’t think there is anyother man or woman in Hollywood who has been photographed as much as Brad or Angie. And in so many different and varying poses, from the simple to the push the enevelope erotic suggesting all sorts of things could be happening. They are not shy about revealing their bodies. They seem so at ease with their personas. I can’t think of anyone who has been photographed as much as they have. This is another thing they have in common. They are free and don’t seem to have any hangup about posing nearly nude, etc. I’ve never seen pictures of George photographed like Brad, or X, or Halle, or Denzal, or Julia R, or a whole host of stars with so called good bodies.

I really don’t think her and Jen are friends, Oprah has a habit of jumping with the person of the moment. I like Oprah and I think her humanitarian efforts are wonderful but there is some insecurity there. She has a habit of name dropping, rather it is the Kennedys, John Travolta, Sidney P, Julia Roberts etc… She wants you to know she knows those that are considered to be part of the in crowd. Everyone seems to be a friend of her according to her. She made a huge mistake with Jen, think about it you have not seen pictures are heard anything about them being friends since her last appearance on Oprah, where she made a fool of her about the Vince relationship.

You are right. But a lot of the peopl she calls her friends are not A-listers. John T hasn’t had a hit until Wild Hogs, and Julia Roberts hasn’t had one in years. And here breaking up Danny Molder’s marriage is never mentioned. I think sometimes Oprah still thinks she is poor and needs validation from people. The woman is a billionaire. X was a mistake, just like J-Lo was when she broke up with Diddy. Two weeks, months, later she had divorced Chirs Judd after telling O how much she loved him. Hmmmm, I wonder who wrote this. Someone trying to look like the innocent victim while they were on a warpath last night. So transparent.

I am with Lady G, that Brad or Angie should do interview with Diane Sawyer or Oprah. I used to respect Diane Sawyer because I truly think she can differentiate professionalism versus gossips! After, she last did the interview with Brad and repeated “homewreck” and sh**t about Angie, I totally have a different perspective of Diane Sawyer!!!

As for Oprah, I can’t say I admired or respect her, but I do thank and appreciate her for her humanitarian work. However, she made a mistake for taking side with Jen. Even, her expressing the nice things about Brad and Angie is a little too late and the damage has already been done. You know how it is, once the damage is done, is done!!!! I personally, think it will be extremely awkward if Brad or Angie to do interview with Oprah because I can’t help it in the back of my mind somewhere Oprah will not be able to differentiate and play the middle guy, especially since she once took side with Jen!!! I am sure Brad or Angie would not be comfortable either!!!

I hope I don’t get shot for this but I’m one of the few people here that actually like both Oprah and DS. I think Oprah is one person who jumps on folks bandwagon but she can do a solid interview if the moment calls for it and as for DS, I think she is one of the best in the business at what she does and I can not understand why ppl think she was taking pot shots at Angelina during her 2005 interview with Brad. I hope I don’t get shot for this but I’m one of the few people here that actually like both Oprah and DS. I think Oprah is one person who jumps on folks bandwagon but she can do a solid interview if the moment calls for it and as for DS, I think she is one of the best in the business at what she does and I can not understand why ppl think she was taking pot shots at Angelina during her 2005 interview with Brad. Oprah’s interviewing skills are not that great to me but I don’t think she would be cruel or hostile to Brad and I think Brad can more than handle her. I think she would actually over compensate and be giddy over him, she does that some times.

I like Diane Sawyer and IA I think she is one of the best in the business. I do agree that any reporter would have tried to get the scope but I think Diane crossed a line in her efforts to do so. It was almost if she tried to make him angry so that he would lose his cool and maybe say something that he wasn’t prepared to say but she didn’t shake him. She ended up looking like a tabloid reporter and he with his focus on Africa and the kids looked like a compassionate and informed star.

Brad didn’t really do press for Babel so while he may have done magazine interviews or been in the tabloid there has been a long time since he has done an interview. ITA with this! The days of sound journalism are gone and that is soemthing that I honestly believe we will never have again for the media is feeding us what we want….and that’s sensation and scandal. I used to hold DS in higher respect and was very disappointed with the way she conducted the portion of TGS interview with Angie. I think she deviated and sway way left to a tabloidish end trying to get some scoop out of Angie. She should have been more focus and professional instead of appearing sleazy in that portion of the interview .. otherwise I have not much qualm with her besides that one episode which left me in a little distaste.

We all don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. Oprah could have been in contact with Brad’s “people” **waving at Cindy G** a while back trying to get him on knowing this film was coming out. That’s a lot of coordinating of schedules for everyone to come on one show, so Oprah’ or Diane Sawyer may be the only one’s. Al, Brad, George, Matt, Don, Bernie Mac, Andy, Casey, Scott, Ellen…these are some busy folks.

I think the Oprah reference was a dig at Danny Ocean (Clooney). What Brad said here speaks volumes about why Angie had the pictures taken in Hanoi of the kids. I can’t see how after reading this anyone could or would possibly be skeptical of her motives. Brad says himself that this is what he wants done, take the pictures himself and sell them so the money can go to something useful. All the arguments I’ve been reading about Angie taking the pictures (or having them taken) and selling them without Brad being there is moot to me now. This was a joint venture for sure, and for a d a m n good cause!

And, unlike Oprah, who , as a talk show host, often gets carried away and interrupts her guests, Diane is a professional journalist.

(1) The industry trade paper, variety said the movie “wanted” was pushed back to May instead of April . Even though the movie “wanted” is going to start filming in May, we dont know whether it’s the beginning of May or end of May. If you do a search on this movie, you will notice that Angie is NOT the main character in this movie. She is playing a SUPPORTING role. She might not be due on the set until later, or even the beginning of summer. Until there are pictures of her on the set, that is until there are MORE FACTS, us mag should refrain froming an opinion.

(2) US mag talked about Angie is also booked for “Changling” and ” Atlas Shrugged”. Again, if you do a search on “Atlas Shrugged”, this movie is no where close to start filming. In fact, it might not even start until 2 or 3 years from now. Having a movie in the pipeline does NOT mean she is doing all these movies all at once. To suck up everything this mag tell you and start writing opinions against her is NAIVE.

(3)Being a good mother does NOT mean 24/7. Stability does NOT mean staying put in one city. Stability means living in the same roof, having the same parent, moulding by the same parents, getting instructions, directions, training by the same parent. Smith. Angie has said in interview that breakfast for the children is the same time everyday whether in Europe or in the USA. I totally agree. Many actors/actress formed production company so that his/her own company can hire himself/herself as actress. Sandra Bullock has said it’s very hard to get good scripts. There were just too much competition. That’s what she said it’s one of the reasons of forming her own company.

I wonder if Jen has formed her company after the divorce. Funny her BFF never included herin the production of the TV “Dirt”. Courtney only asked her to be a guest on the last episode. I guess being friends is one thing, doing business is another different matter.

That includes dining on her own, taking massages and one-on-one yoga classes and shopping for her new $15-million home in the Hollywood Hills. “Jen really does prefer the quiet life,” says one observer. “That’s probably why she and Vince Vaughn didn’t last.”

OT with todays ‘revelation’ of actress Halle Berry’s past attempted suicide, many were like, wait, this isn’t news..is it? It was presented on some blogs and on the cover of Parade magazine as this blockbuster confession. It was all over the entertainment world. But long time Halle fans like myself was wondering is this some new attempt or the old one from when she was married the the baseball player. It turned out that it was from back then almost 13 years ago. They showed where Halle had talked about the incident on at least 4 national talk shows including Oprah and in numerous magazines over a period of the past 10 years. Someone at Parade thought they had one of the biggest bombshells of the year. They did not do their research (which is increasingly the case with tabloids). It also smacks of a subtle knocking of Halle down a few pegs the way the story hit. I’m sure there were many things she said in Parade besides the suicide attempt but that was the headline that was screaming. What next? Exclusives about the hit and run she was involved in as if it happend yesterday?

The fact that this entertainment show got suspicious and did the work and realized that this is rehashed news, and not an exclusive is a good sign. Now many are gonna start asking themselves ‘didn’t we read about this before” and question every so called exclusive. This tactic is used a lot when it comes to Angelina and to a lesser extent Brad. Bringing old quotes, twist them to fit the slant of the story (often negative) and rehashed as new & exclusive quotes. So people think that she is taking to the media when she hasn’t said s h i t.

Anyone knows if brad still in LA?

Halle Berry was a guest in french National TV today and denied herself this suicide story ; It was at the TV news( TF1 with the journalist called PPDA, for those who know the french journalists)

That’s really odd. Halle Berry DID say she tried to take her own life years and years ago. It’s not a rumor. Can you translate that quote because I’m fan of hers and I watched her with my own eyes say she tried to kill herself in her car. She also mentioned losing her dog too or almost losing her dog. It was many years ago.

Ha! if this is true than this should be the story screaming all around the world because on Access Hollwood or Extra, I can’t remember which, went in depth to find out if this story was rehashed. They showed 4 different video interviews of Halle from as far back as 1997 where Halle herself is describing her suicide attempt. She said she was in a car. I wonder if it’s up on youtube…

Maybe Halle’s car accident that got her bump on the head, made her get amnesia.

ITAWU. Was this a quarterly report of her well being ? Can someone tell the American media to stop informing us Maniston had move on after official separated with her x husband of 2 and half years, although they were separated much of the time in later part of 2003 to 2004. Who really cares about her if she was married to Tate Donovan or a nobody or even Vince V. That’s exactly what happened before Angie and Brad showed up together on the red carpet at TGS. No stories, no photos, tabloids crazy with speculations and I believe 50 cents said the same think that they should give the rags something to get off their back. So Angie gave those couples of interviews and we all know

I wonder if this lack of news has something to do with Brad snapping at the papps

In an interview (with Elle magazine?), Jen pointed to a photo of Brad with a beard and derisively said something to the effect that this wasn’t her favorite look on Brad, but you know what they say, you marry for the good and the bad.

Can you just IMAGINE! if Brad had given an interview and said that about one of Jen’s looks!? What an uproar!

But because it was a woman saying it about a man, it was barely noticed.

In an interview (was it in Vanity Fair or Elle or another interview?) Jen said, Brad wasn’t there for her when Friends ended.

Can you imagine if Brad had said, well I had this war movie, Troy, and women were turned off because it was a war movie, but Jen wasn’t there for me at the time.

Had these types of words come from Brad, the world would have been scandalized. The same insulting words were barely noticed coming from Jen

Angelina Jolie in an interview describing her feelings for Brad, was quoted as saying, “You just know you can count on Brad to be there when you need him.”

In the first interview mentioned above (in Elle magazine?) Jen said that to her, Brad was not the sexiest man alive, she didn’t go along with that stuff.

Jen said that to her, Brad is her Brad, take out the garbage Brad.

Can you imagine if Brad had said that to him, Jen was not a beautiful, adored actress, she was just his Jen, his take out the garbage Jen, his clean the house Jen?

Are we saying Jen is a bad person?

Not at all.

She could be a super-glamorous, trophy wife for a man in the upper echelons of society, politics.

She loves giving dinner parties — she could give dinner parties every night she has said.

But perhaps she did not have the wisdom to appreciate Brad and acknowledge that he is special.

People in the public eye have a big ego — they need to survive and go ahead — but she tried him with some disrespect in the above ways.

Again, is it her fault?

Not necessarily.

Women are generally inexperienced in these areas.

Well-married women are often women with a purring, flirtatious voice, come-hither eyes, who pile on flattery, make the man feel like a king, have the ability to focus on a man’s face to the exclusion of anything else, and the ability to disregard a lot of pain.

These kinds of sarcastic opinions about one’s husband, that Jen told about Brand, when told in front of friends would cause a man emotional pain.

But imagine when they are told in a hugely public manner, in interviews that everyone wants to read.

It could have caused Brad to distance himself emotionally to protect himself from the pain of being disrespected so publicly.

Another factor that may have doomed their marriage is that his magnificent “Troy” was not the mad success that was expected.

His body was magnificent, but the role he was given was not sympathetic — he played a spoiled, egocentric boy.

It was unpleasant to see such a nasty personality.

We saw the film, and as much as we adore Brad Pitt — and we adore him — we only watched a short bit of it.

Compare that to the deep, brooding sympathetic character he played in “Interview with the Vampire.”

Or compare that to the character “Mickey,” the coup de force he played in Guy Ritchie’s film — that was just delightful.

He has said that he based that role on the role played by Benecio del Toro in “The Usual Suspects,” and how well it was done by Brad — unrivalled in any of his movies.

The fact that a film does not meet its potential often dooms the star and his/her spouse’s relationship unless handled a very sympathetic, supportive way. Though it is only a temporary stop along one’s career, It must be felt as such a depressing, public humiliation.

Jen possibly didn’t have what that was needed (it would be difficult to know just what is needed).

Then there is the situation that Brad Pitt may have desired Angelina Jolie by the time Mr. and Mrs. Smith was cast.

By this time various problems may already have doomed the Jen-Brad marriage.

When the major female star dropped out of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Brad Pitt said he would not do the film unless another major female star was brought in, someone like Angelina Jolie. Hmmm.

A reason for Brad’s marriage (among others of course) was that he wanted children, and he wanted them as soon as possible. At the time he married Jen he said he wanted to have a little commune.

For whatever reasons, that did not happen. Perhaps during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Brad was further attracted to Angelina because of her wish to have several children.

Angelina had suffered when she adopted Maddox while married to Bille Bob; she “sprung” the adoption on Billie Bob somewhat, and the latter was completely uninterested in having a child.

When we wrote our commentary in 2006, we wrote this:

We admire women who marry rich and important men, and assume they must have special seduction techniques or personality, and in some cases, we may be correct.

We am thinking of Helen Gurley Brown, the editor of the international editions of Cosmopolitan magazine, who details it all in her books, particularly, SEX AND THE SINGLE GIRL which has just been reissued by Barnes and Nobles.

Though the book was written a half-century ago, it lays out in detail the warmth, kindness and charm (among many other attributes — good with money, good hostess, etc. etc. ) a woman should have to keep a man happy (and to be successful in life).

Nowadays, we think any old gruff, critical, rude self is good enough and a man should be happy he simply has us.

But we see in the example of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, that sexuality and beauty are not enough to make up for casual cruelty and thoughtlessness. (See posting below.)

People who come to mind: Dr. Condi Rice (though single), Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush.

Imagine them in a group of people.

They are not the rude, quiet, withdrawn kind.

They come “out of themselves” and move emotionally and graciously towards others, making others feel welcomed and important.

We take these great persons’ behavior for granted, but this is the behavior we ourselves could exhibit with others.

Can you imagine Laura Bush ever saying, “Oh, to me, George is not the President of the United States, he’s just take-out-the-garbage George.”

And yet, that’s how Jennifer Aniston spoke of Brad Pitt in a major interview.

I like that, thanks creole. It’s has respect to it, no slamming Jen and all that crap. Just simply, she didn’t appreciate what she had. What’s that old saying ‘YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’VE GOT TILL IT’S GONE’…….that’s exactly what I think happened here.

I adore Jen, but I don’t think she appreciated Brad or could handle being Mrs. Brad Pitt. She royally f****d up, but life goes on.

I know everyone wishes we could hear something from the JPs, but just think of all the quality family time they are having right now!

It’s been a slow week in Hollywood: Anna Nicole’s still dead, Britney got her teeth cleaned and Lindsay disappointed paparazzi by wearing underwear. So, what’s a struggling tabloid like US Weekly to do? First, they cover a story on Angelina Jolie, but instead of wasting their time and energy on reportage, they recycle old news, add Stars—they’re just like US candids, and pepper the story with reader polls about Jolie and her husband, Brad Pitt, a B-list actor from critical and financial turkeys like Ocean’s Eleven and Babel. First though, they’ll have to resurrect her “wild past.” When she was still a teenager, Angelina took embalming lessons. She and her first sexual partner used to cut one another while stealing home. At one point, she dug girl-on-girl. And then, to separate herself from the pack of bisexual Hollywood bloodsuckers, Angelina locked lips with her brother, James Haven. Ever since she married Brad and started adopting Cambodia, however, Jolie’s gotten sort of normal.

Normalcy, however, isn’t going to fly with US Weekly, who writes, “Despite not having a publicist (unheard of for a celebrity of her caliber), the actress has expertly reinvented herself as a devoted mother and girlfriend—despite her wild past as a self-confessed drug-using Goth who dabbled in bisexuality and had a string of ‘lovers.’” In addition to the sin of manipulating her public persona, Angelina has had the gall to—gasp! —have a baby and go back to work. There’s nothing new here. So they move on to Brad: “In an interview with Diane Sawyer, Pitt complained that people were more interested in their relationship than in harder news—like Third World poverty [see the Jessica Simpson story below for proof that this is a vicious lie]. He neglected to mention the 58-page spread of he and Jolie posing as a 1950s couple that came out in W that week.” Sounds like sour grapes to MediaPout. Without a professional PR rep to massage their images, Brad and Angelina have left the tabloids to feast on meticulously self-made scraps. Unfortunately, this fanorexia has forced the big seven to create headlines without mettle: “How Maddox Feels about His Brother” and “Will Brad & Angie’s Relationship Last?” are examples from the latest US Weekly. But, Brad and Angelina seem rather unaffected by the whole thing: “We’re thinking soccer team . . . start our own country, enter the World Cup and dominate it,” Pitt told Ryan Seacrest at January’s Golden Globe Awards. Rumoured to have two adoptions in the works, and another baby on the biological clock, Pitt might be onto something when he suggests they create their own country. Every citizen would be blessed with chiseled jaws and lips that look like giant marshmallow pillows. There would be no hunger, no Aniston anxieties, and most importantly, no talk of blood sex with Billy Bob or incest whispers by Billy Bush. So, I hope all you suckers enjoy the real world. I’m off to Brangelina, population: me.

THE TABLOID REPORT

Okay, folks, repeat after me, “Passing Through is a slacker and a procrastinator.” Remember this…it won’t be the last time you say it…

Alrighty…now that we’ve established that…let’s move on to what the tabs have to say this week. By now most of you have probably read the People magazine. If not, check Sammie’s site for the scans - http://sammie323.blogspot.com/2007/03/people-april-2-2007.html. The People magazine’s story is the measuring stick to which all the other tabs’ stories can be compared. For the most part, surprisingly, the other tabs get the story right. We do, of course, have bits of fictional “color” added to the stories to keep the readers interested. In other words…none of these mags has ever heard the phrase, “I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.”

- National Enquirer: Story: “Experts Blast Angelina’s Cruel Adoption”. I guess the good folks at NE didn’t think that title was a little over the top…but…got to get the readers’ attention. There’s lots of competition for the consumer dollar these days.

* From the beginging of their story the NE starts with the accusations against Angie. According to them she removed Pax from “the only loving care” he’s ever had and the only “mom” he’s ever known. (Sidebar: I really don’t think that sharing a babysitter with 326 other children qualifies as “loving care”. Could be me, though.)

* The NE says that adoption reduced Pax to tears and according to NE cadre of experts and could possibly scar him for life. (Sidebar: Kinda like reading this sh#t is scarring ME for life.)

* NE further says that while Angie may have had good intentions “leading therapists” say the adoption proccess was “jarring” and unintentionally “cruel” and over it was “handled atrociously”. (Sidebar: Kinda like NE’s handling of the story of the adoption, but at least their accusations against Angie say “unintentionally cruel” whereas NE is intentionally cruel. Rather ironic, wouldn’t you say?)

* A lot of NE’s accusations are based on a SUPPOSED interview with Pax’s nurse (Bui Thi Bich Tuyen) at the orphanage. According to her, “It all happened so quickly. He’s now surrounded by strangers. He will be asking for me, but no one will understand what he is saying. There was no time for me to say goodbye.” (Sidebar: I’m still trying to figure out how the NE thinks it was Angie’s fault the nurse didn’t know about the adoption ahead of time. Seems like that’s an issue between the nurse and her boss!)

* According to NE, the nurse says that Angie “breezed in” and “scooped up” Pax and was gone within 30 minutes of arriving. (Sidebar: Somehow I think NE put words in her mouth…”breezed in” and “scooped up”? Now, I’m no expert on Vietnam…but somehow these do NOT seem like phrases a most likely uneducated glorified babysitter would use.)

* NE’s experts say the swift departure from the orphanage could be damaging to Pax. According to their - new word folks and you heard it hear first - SHRINXPERT (def: tabloid “expert” who’s specialy is psychology/psychiatry), the good Dr. Joyce Brothers, “Adoption is a very hard thing for a child to go through - and Angelina should have done it better. The oprhanage is the only world he knows, and he should have been better prepared for leaving it.” (Sidebar: Do we really need another run-down on the credentials of the 97 year-old Dr. Joyce Brothers? Two words for ya - Hollywood Squares. Just a word of advice for the folks at the NE - if you want your expert to be taken seriously, the phrases “I sat in the square between Paul Lynde and Charlie Weaver.” and “I’ll take ____________ to block.” should NEVER be on their resume. If you don’t know who Paul Lynde & Charlie Weaver are…well, let’s just say they were on the show in the 1970s…which kind of tells you how long it’s been since good old Dr. Joyce last had an opinion on anything that someone didn’t pay her to have.)

* According to Pax’s nurse, who spoke to NE through a translator, the adoption was sudden and a surprise to both her and Pax and they were given no transitionary period so Pax could get used to the idea of being adopted. The nurse says that Angelina “whisked him off” in a big hurry and poor Pax didn’t even get to take his favorite teddy bear. The nurse says, “I meant to pack it for him, but everything was such a rush. He backed awy from Angelina and went into a corner, sobbing. He had no idea what was going on except that he was going to be taken away by a stranger.” (Sidebar: Uh, excuse my ass for pointing this out to the NE and Ms. Tuyen, but it’s not Angie’s fault the VN authorities CHOSE not to tell Pax he was being adopted. They knew about it weeks, if not months, that was THEIR decision, not Angie’s.)

* NE also says that besides being jerked away from his only home, Pax will also have to suffer the indignity of having his name changed. They drag in another shrinxpert who says, “New parents should allow the child to keep his real name for a tleast a little while. It’s about the only thing he’ll bring with him from his home. (Sidebar: How do they know that the J-Ps aren’t calling the boy “Sang” within the PRIVACY of their home? Just because they renamed him…it doesn’t mean that’s what they’re calling him when they talk to him.)

* Just when I thought NE was done with Dr. Joyce, she pops up her little bobbed head again (the woman has had she same helmet-hair-bob for 40 years) and she says the adoption whould have been done, “more gently” and that “Angelina should have spent more time with the boy before they left. Explaining to him what was happening. Very often children with this kind of tramua in their past have trouble building trust as they get older. They have problems forming attachments to friends and lovers.” (Sidebar: Once again…it’s Angelina’s fault because the boy wasn’t told ahead of time what was happening. She spent 20 minutes calming the boy down before they left. Maybe if he’d been told more than 10 minutes before her arrival he wouldn’t have had such a severe reaction. Still, is it really necessary to project the boy won’t be able to form attachments in 20 years? Hell, I know people who weren’t adopted abruptly who have the same problem. What’s the explanation for that, Dr. Joyce?)

* To further drive home their point that Angie is a thoughtless adopter of orphaned children in need, NE drags in yet another shrinxpert who says, “I am startled Angelina Jolie would so abruptly disrupt the apparent 3 year-old bond between Pax and his primary caregiver. It could potentially traumatize the child. He could experience profound fears of abandonment that could last a lifetime. It could promote chronic feelings of being unloved. Frequently, these children grow up to exhibit poor school behavior and academic performance, extreme obesity or anorexia and problems with drug and alcohol.” (Sidebar: Let’s see…because Pax was taken from his primary caregiver, who was NOT related to him and who divided her time between Pax and 24 other children, without HER being able to say goodbye, he faces a future filled with academic failure, drugs, alcohol and eating disorders. Now let’s compare that to some of today’s celebs who grew up in 2-parent homes or with both parents playing an active role in their upbringing - Paris, Britney and Nicole. Need I say more?)

* Just when I had begun to despair, NE tells us their IS some good news - thanks to “bighearted Angelina”, poor nurse/caregiver deprived Pax will want for nothing and will be raised in a house full of love with a whole passel of siblings. (Sidebar: According to their experts he’ll be a hot mess…but a LOVED hot mess.)

* Unfortunately NE goes on to temper my mounting joy by saying that first Pax will have to “bounce back,” which their next Shrinxpert, Dr. Susan Forward (who’s written a few pop psych self-help books in the ’70s and ’80s) says, “was handled atrociously. It was cruel. He may get through this ok, if he’s resilient enough, but this is a trauma which could ruin his life. It could be a psychological disaster.” (Sidebar: Once again…I fail to see how the mishandling of Pax being informed he’d been adopted is Angelina’s fault. As the adopter she has no legal control over how the situation is hanled BEFORE she picks up the child. But…writing a story about the supposed screw-ups director of the VN adoption program and the director of the oprhanage is NOT what sells their piece of sh#t rag. * The OK! starts their story with Angie approaching Pax at the orphanage when she ent to pick him up. They say that “by her side was the most imporant person in her world, not Brad, but Maddox.” They go on to quote Angelina from an old interview when she said, “He’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to my life.” Therefore, they say, it’s no surprise that Mad played a key role in her decision to adopt Pax. (Sidebar: It’s also no surprise that they’d spin into a melodramatic epiphany when in fact it was simple common sense that led to Maddox’s presence!)

* OK! says that last June, when Angie spoke to Anderson Cooper, she indicated that they would adopt next instead of having another bio baby. According to a supposed friend of Brad’s he was “on board with her choice” but in the ind he had little influence on Angie’s decision. “Angelina is in the driver’s seat. When they visited the Vietnamese orphanage together during Thanksgiving, Brad loved all the children he saw and would have taken all the orphans home if he could.” However, Angie had her sights set on getting a brother for Mad. The friend says, “She knew he needed to be younger, but close enough in age that they culd play together.” and Pax fit that need perfectly. Let us refer to the People mag and the adoption agency rep, Heidi Gonazales, who made it clear that Angie had no control over the sex of the child referred to her for adoption. So…busted on Lie #1.)

* According to OK! because Pax hadn’t been informed that he was being adopted that day he was unprepared and bawled his little eyes out, but Angie comforted him and they spent some time together in a separate room so he could regain his composure, and afterwards he even played some with Mad. A supposed friend of Angie’s says, “Maddox is going to be a great big brother. People think Angie saved Maddox’s life, but in fact Maddox saved Angelina.” OK! says it now seems that Mad is also responsible for saving Pax. (Sidebar: Still working Tactic #6, I see.)

* OK! ponders about the location of Brad while his peeps where in VN bringing home the newest J-P. OK! learned - exclusively, no doubt - that Angie asked Brad to stay home with Z and Shiloh because she didn’t want to overwhelm Pax with his new instant family and she wanted to take some time having Pax bond with just her and Mad.
