Finally, a new thread. Anything is better than not having any news at all. Now, whoever did the voting for the guys? They should have had Gerard Butler and Brad Pitt in there somewhere.
I’m guessing that Angie is now in training for Wanted while keeping tabs on her kids. #23: Let their heads explode from their obsession with Angelina. If they didn’t care, they wouldn’t be discussing and getting all frothy in the mouth about what she does. They could be ranting about Paris or Lindsay, but noooo. Everybody pretty much agrees with the assessment that these girls are boring, predictable and too easy. Nobody’s defending their actions.
Now, with Angelina, it’s a different matter because they can’t figure her out and they can’t get over the fact that she’s got a lot of people still taking her side no matter what. I know it will probably take a certain amount of work, and can appreciate the effort. But could, or would someone, or the person who did the compilation of the shilo pictures do one for Zahra? I would love to see the progression of her looks to the paps. There is one look she gave them when they were in India. Angie was holding her and Z leaned over with this amazing look on her little face. Another one was when they were in NY and they were either coming from or going to they toy store. Brad was carrying her and he turned his head around to look at her face because someone was trying to take her picture. If this proves to be too much of an effort I understand. English is not my first language. Well, it is not even my second language. So I am not familiar with most of the slang words or expressions you use here. One of the epithets used by the posters who attack Brad is “pu*ssy-whipped” and I always thought this was some kind of meaningless insult. You know, something like who*re or sh*it, who are so commonly used they ceased to mean anything really.
Today, as I read the expression here again, I decided to look it up in a slang dictionary and found out it meant the woman ruled the roast in a relationship. And I’m so surprised American people think this is an insult! I’ve been brought up to think that in a happy relationship a woman always rules the roast. I mean, women are usually more family oriented and so directly or indirectly they are always the centre of every big decision. A happy man is the one who is so secure of his manhood he doesn’t feel threatened by a woman’s power. Quite the contrary, he’s proud of her strength. At least I’ve always been brought up thinking so. My grandmother was the centre of her very large family, my mother ruled her nuclear family with a soft but swift hand and I’m of course the primary decision maker in mine. Nothing sexier than a strong woman who surrenders whenever she wants. Nothing sexier than a physically more powerful guy whom you let gain the upper hand. And quite frankly I feel sorry for women who do not know this.

I can exclusively report that Aniston has been tapped to receive the Vanguard Award at this year’s Los Angeles GLAAD Media Awards on Apr. 14.

Actually, M&MS, the ratio of comments to hits is not 1/2 or even 1/3 of total hits. If you look at Popsugar or even the FF sites which report the number of hits vs the number of comments, you’ll see that even on a BAMPZS thread, which generally attract the most number of comments and the most number of hits, the number of comments is usually less than 5% of total number of hits. Now, in the case of popsugar, you have to go through the bother of registering. But, in the FF site, no registration is required of a poster and even there, number of comments vs total number of hits is significantly below 1/4.
Why do you have to mention Aniston? Do you see the pictures above? They are the gorgeous Angelina Jolie and George Clooney. Can you READ the lists? Aniston’s name is not in it. Stick to the subject. I really this was true but I read Britain’s Grazia Mag just now (I am bad I know) and they allegedly have this ‘exclusive’ interview with James Haven commenting for the first time re:angie n brad’s relationship. Take this with a grain of salt coz until today Grazia has always been angie’s staunchiest detractor. Everyone, including my own mother, knows by now that Angelina Jolie traveled to Vietnam in March and adopted a 3-year-old little boy from the Tam Binh orphanage in Vietnam . The world seems glued to the drama of this mega-star and her adoption of her son,. Pax Thien Jolie.
There’s been quite an uproar in the adoption community. Email lists, bulletin boards and phones are alight with questions and speculation. And yet the general press appears frequently to get the story half-right, or never to address the questions closest to our hearts. We adoptive families are both part of the general populace, and also a world unto ourselves. The masses may wonder about this movie-star-mom growing her family in ‘alternate’ ways, while the adoptive community hosts quite a different range of inquiries. Questions such as:
* Did Angelina choose her child? (the answer is no )
* Why did Angelina only spend a week in Vietnam while other adoptive families spend 2-3 weeks processing their paperwork?
* How did Angelina adopt a child as a single parent when she was living with Brad Pitt?
* Did Angelina pay to expedite her adoption?
* Are Brad and Angelina adopting to expand their fame?
In the big picture, there is one side of this story; the story the entire world will hear and unfortunately, believe. In our world, there is the following story. One which involves most of those involved in this adoption and which I know to be the truth after talking to many of the parties involved. But first, let us be fair and address the history of this situation. In the end, all of the questions will be answered.
The unfortunate tabloid-fueled presentation to the world is this: Angelina Jolie: Movie Star and Collector of Children , went to Vietnam on a whim, ended up arbitrarily visiting an orphanage in November of 2006, picked out a child to add to her string of multicultural kids, and paid bribes to the Vietnamese government and to an US adoption agency to make it happen fast.
This is clichéd fiction that people accumulatively pay millions in magazine prices to read.
The truth is, Angelina Jolie is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador and mother of 4, three through adoption. As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina uses her status as a superstar to generate media coverage about the plight of refugees and the conditions under which they live. She has traveled widely to remote refugee camps and receiving centers in countries including Tanzania, Namibia, Cambodia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Ecuador.
She has met thousands of men, women, and children forced to flee from their homes and struggle to survive as refugees. “You go to these places and you realize what life’s really about and what people are really going through,” says Angelina. “These people are my heroes.”
As adoptive parents, knowing this about Ms. Jolie, why wouldn’t we understand her desire, on a much more private level, to make a difference in the lives of the children that she so often witnessed suffering?
When adopting Maddox, Ms. Jolie had been filming in Cambodia for nearly a year; Living and working day-by-day with the people of that country. Nothing actually divides Ms. Jolie from any of us, except that generally Americans have grown used to our movie stars being dysfunctional, political, self-aggrandizing personalities. So how do we handle a mega-star adopting? A truly crazy-famous, strong, intelligent activist woman who chooses to build her life and family in her own style?
I believe the answer is: we follow her example. We embrace that which does no harm, but only seeks to promote the welfare of children. Many will argue that adopting as an unmarried couple negates the good of giving a child a family. Though on one side this may appear to be a moral issue, the question also must be asked, Who will parent all the children in orphanages?
Surely, loving this or any child cannot be wrong. And legally, since Ms. Jolie is not married she had to adopt as a single parent. Vietnamese law states that you have to be single or a married couple (man/woman) - since she isn’t married she had to adopt single. The requirements of Vietnam do not state that you can’t live with anyone. Each agency must make their own choice of whom they will accept as applicants. And each family must also choose: how will they grow?
For Ms. Jolie and Mr. Brad Pitt, the answer has been more complicated than what the world may view as ‘normal’. But as adoptive parents, how can we not embrace their choices? After visiting numerous orphanages and privately saying to myself, “If only I had the finances,” and finding myself wanting to do so much more, I know I am not alone in understanding how someone could choose this eclectic but fulfilling way to build a family. How much more so it must be for someone who regularly travels to refugee homes and orphanages to do humanitarian work?
However, the world press, those who crushed her windshield while in Vietnam, attacked her car, released private information to the world including her new son’s passport and her adoption papers, they aren’t interested in you hearing about her good works. The supported schools, AIDS programs, new water wells or medical programs for orphans. You’ve heard their version of this story already.
Now I’m going to tell you the real story.
In the early summer of 2006, Ms. Angelina Jolie: Mother, Partner and parent with Brad Pitt, movie star and humanitarian worker was visiting with her daughter Zahara’s pediatrician, Dr. Jane Aronson.
Ms. Jolie had already gone through the homestudy process, approving her to adopt internationally. Dr. Jane is the founder of Worldwide Orphans Foundation (did you really think I could resist a plug for a wonderful charity?) which has done amazing work with orphans in Ethiopia . Dr. Jane has also adopted from Vietnam and Ethiopia . However the conversation may have gone, a call was soon made to the Pennsylvania adoption agency, Adoptions from the Heart .
“It was truly fate,” Vietnam adoption coordinator for AFTH Heidi Gonzalez reports. “This 3-year-old boy from Vietnam had been living in his orphanage since shortly after his birth. Our agency had (just prior to Ms. Jolie’s inquiry) recently received his referral and the report of what a wonderful little boy he is. His file was on my desk at the moment I received the call. Despite what others may believe, this was the first and only child presented to Ms. Jolie. It was meant to be.”
Adoptions from the Heart accepted the challenging opportunity to assist this young boy in finding his family. “We have been working with Vietnam since 1995. There were years when we supported the children and orphanages when adoption was closed to the US . Every child is precious to us, and we work for the best interest of each child, regardless of whether or not adoption is in his or her future,” Ms. Gonzalez stated.
In November of 2006, Ms. Jolie visited her son’s orphanage, though she knew her adoption was months away from being complete. “She chose to visit the toddler room in general, not to single him out,” shared Ms. Gonzalez, “in January she knew it was getting close, and she visited individually with Pax to begin the bonding process.” By this time, the Vietnam government had Ms. Jolie’s CIS approval and the first leak of the adoption had reached the world-wide press.
“Before that time, there were only two people in our office who knew of the adoption. Her file was kept under lock and key in my office,” said Ms. Gonzalez. Security, lawyers, hand-carrying documents and working with personal assistants were the norm. So, was this adoption that much different from others?
“Looking back, I guess you might see it that way. But on a day-to-day basis, not really. We had a single mom who was focused on her child. She wanted to make sure he was cared for and safe and the side-bar was keeping the news of the adoption from the media. She was doing a movie in India for part of the process and on a few hours notice she would fly in, exhausted, to re-do fingerprints or do one last homestudy update,” said Ms. Gonzalez, “The biggest difference was when it was time to travel for the actual adoption. We had to work with her security team and Vietnam, run through the process with them for when she would arrive, look at the security risks in each location and figure out how to minimize any problems. That was definitely different.”
The hardest part for everyone involved materialized in Ho Chi Minh City . The reports of the ridiculous actions of the press were understated. They attacked her car, breaking the windshield, attempting to puncture the tires in order to take more photos, relentlessly invading the cherished time that most adoptive parents, and presumably Ms. Jolie as well, see as priceless: That in-country bonding week or two. It was not possible to be just another adoptive parent. She had to be Angelina Jolie The Movie Star . Her adoption signing was accompanied by the Vietnamese press, she was requested to submit to being interviewed by a Vietnamese government newspaper just hours after receiving her son, and gracefully accepted being photographed for hours with government officials. She was there to adopt a childa private personal experience that was very special to her and to all adoptive parents.
And she missed it. She didn’t get that precious, private experience.
“She really had no problem doing interviews or sharing her photos. She had her own photographer with her, and simply asked that the privacy of all her children be respected. She wanted to have the process be special and private for her family. Unfortunately she didn’t have that opportunity,” said Ms. Gonzalez.
Imagine if you were in a taxi with your newest child on your lap, your cherished toddler to whom you had longed to show your love and bring into your family. Strangers were attacking the car, their mouths screaming, faces contorted, and cameras flashing into the cab of the vehicle. The world appears to desire to blame the Star. The person who wishes to build her family in a similar way that we adoptive-families build our own.
Are we part of that world? As individuals in the adoption community, we should band together and support all people who build their families through adoption.
Although accused of requesting and receiving preferential treatment due to only spending one week in Vietnam after the adoption of Pax (the normal time is 2 1/2 weeks), the truth is that the Vietnamese passport office processed Pax’s passport in one day due to the media’s outrageous and destructive behavior. Ms. Jolie and her family left only after it was apparent that there would be no ability to explore Vietnam as a family, and airline ticket dates were changed for everyone.
The final question, the one many silently contemplate is this:
“What sort of Normal life will Pax Thien Jolie, or any of the children of Mega Movie Stars, live?”
I imagine that it will not be ‘normal’, as I or many others may see it. Or maybe it will. It all depends on how you look at the situation. But is that so terrible? Millions of people live normal lives. They’re not UN representatives. They don’t raise funds for AIDS orphans in Ethiopia, or drill wells for clean drinking water. I know of lots of normal and not-so-normal people who are to be admired. But the ones I respect most, all seem to have the same name and title:

Beautiful post. Thanks for posting. It clears up a lot of the false tab rumors and lies generated by the media to sell papers. AJ is a woman to be admired. It is a shame that the media acted in such a horrible manner during and after the adoption. Hopefully, Pax is bonding with his new family and BAMPZS are getting quality family time. Peace to all.
Brad, Angie and the family are happy and enjoying peacefully these especial days that they are together before going off to work again. They have to go back to work soon to make a living to support their family, and to be able to help the impoverished, unfortunate children of the world.

I like that the article spoke to the truth of the declining domestic market where films are concern and that 63% of the money made off of films last year were international. Which means a film can be a moderate success domestically and still be considered a blockbuster overall because of the money made internationally. I don’t think orphanage nurse who cared Pax sold wrong story to Western media. I think it was Western media that fabricated story by using her photo. Vietnam might be still developing country but their literacy rate has been more than 90% from 20 century. This country’s future is promising because of their deligency. People usually read newspaper and never read tabloids like in US. I believe the nurse told good story about Pax and didn’t know it would be twisted in bad way. I learned about Vietnam by reading several books and assosiating with several Vitnam public officers for a few years in the past.

Also, I wrote a note to you on another thread about what to do with your son’s curly hair. I have a boy also who, as a classmate called him, is a “curly Shirley.” To comb his hair daily, I use a heavy conditioner which I do not wash out and the comb with a wide tooth comb. Hope this helps.

Why is anyone believing that brangelina is getting married? Didn’t this rumor start with a tabloid? Why believe it and why pressure them? And why are the fans fanning the fires of this particular rumor. Who cares if they get married, they are in more of a happy committed relationship than most married people anyway. If they do it that would be great but I don’t think we should jump on the bandwagon and try to speculate that they are . This is the last thing they would want, they are uber-private people. I left Hongkong aprox 10 years ago, I remember we also read newspapers or tv guide to find out about the entertainment news, every morning, when I got my newspapers the first page that I read was the entertainment news then business news, doesn’t mean there are no papz, but all the news are on the newspap. think the lies of tabloits in the western world are so shocking, appalling, and unbelievable to me especially toward Angelina Jolie. I really don’t understand why those tabloits magazines can continue to survive and make so much profits knowing that they are lying most of the time. The more shocking is they are willing to pay a lots of money for photos. (sorry English is not my 1st language, hope people understand what I write)

By becoming the mother of a Cambodian boy (Maddox), an Ethiopian girl (Zahara), and, now, Pax, Jolie is helping to diminish the stigma that’s attached to children of color from poverty-stricken countries. It’s helped call attention to the plight of 14 million orphans in Africa whose parents have died of AIDS.
Any woman who adopts a child of another culture will have to deal with stares, stupid questions and with helping the child overcome feelings of cultural isolation. But these are not insurmountable problems and, frankly, it’s a better life than remaining in an orphanage.
Really, it wouldn’t be as big of an issue if the rest of us learned to feel comfortable with mixed-ethnicity families. (I refrain from using the term “race” because we’re all from the same race: human.)
It’s ironic that people living in one of the most diverse countries on the planet continue to struggle with diversity.
So many of us live segregated lives that impede our ability to understand each other.

Thanks for the article on Agenlina’s Vietnam adoption. I was in the country at the time she arrived, but I’ve only been updated on her adoption when I got back to the States. There aren’t newstands on the streets selling magazines or newspaper. People were more concern about selling there cakes/cooked goods on the streets. Everyone was very busy working to make a living, to be able to provide food for the family. There was no hesterical mania. All that press must be for some general/communist ranking official’s kids who wanted her picture.

Ugh, another stupid poll. Longtimers know how much I abhor them even if Angelina or Brad are on them. It’s just so FAN and childish to me.
Anyway, no news? Good News! they have officially gone back to the pre-tabloid status of almost three years ago. Only being in the press to promote their films, humanitaria causes, attending premieres and news about new projects. If Brad & Angelina and the family don’t show their faces for the rest of the year, you can guarantee that the tabs will keep them in the tabs with their comicbook soap operas
that they are known for. I saw and interview with Beyonce yesterday and she had the right attitude. She basically laughed when the topics of tabloids came up. She was like they are a joke because how could you have her broken up with someone one week and married the very next week? How could you have someone pregnant one week and another rival tab mentioning how that same person is anorexic? In the same week! And the tabs are next to each other on the news stand. I think if eveyone bursted out laughing when the word tabloid is mentioned, it would trickle down to the actual reader who believes these lies. they are what they are: fantastic fiction.
Beyonce was asked if she was ever worried about the maliciousness of the lies influencing the publics perception of her and she said of course. But there was nothing she could do about it. She advised that most celebs take the high road and let the tabs ride out whattever ish they have and let them move on to others. There will always be others. Real fans will always source out authentic information about their favorite celebrities.

There’s been quite an uproar in the adoption community. Email lists, bulletin boards and phones are alight with questions and speculation. And yet the general press appears frequently to get the story half-right, or never to address the questions closest to our hearts. We adoptive families are both part of the general populace, and also a world unto ourselves. The masses may wonder about this movie-star-mom growing her family in ‘alternate’ ways, while the adoptive community hosts quite a different range of inquiries. Questions such as:
* Did Angelina choose her child? (the answer is no )
* Why did Angelina only spend a week in Vietnam while other adoptive families spend 2-3 weeks processing their paperwork?
* How did Angelina adopt a child as a single parent when she was living with Brad Pitt?
* Did Angelina pay to expedite her adoption?
* Are Brad and Angelina adopting to expand their fame?
In the big picture, there is one side of this story; the story the entire world will hear and unfortunately, believe. In our world, there is the following story. One which involves most of those involved in this adoption and which I know to be the truth after talking to many of the parties involved. But first, let us be fair and address the history of this situation. In the end, all of the questions will be answered.
The unfortunate tabloid-fueled presentation to the world is this: Angelina Jolie: Movie Star and Collector of Children , went to Vietnam on a whim, ended up arbitrarily visiting an orphanage in November of 2006, picked out a child to add to her string of multicultural kids, and paid bribes to the Vietnamese government and to an US adoption agency to make it happen fast.
This is clichéd fiction that people accumulatively pay millions in magazine prices to read.
The truth is, Angelina Jolie is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador and mother of 4, three through adoption. As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina uses her status as a superstar to generate media coverage about the plight of refugees and the conditions under which they live. As adoptive parents, knowing this about Ms. Jolie, why wouldn’t we understand her desire, on a much more private level, to make a difference in the lives of the children that she so often witnessed suffering?
When adopting Maddox, Ms. Jolie had been filming in Cambodia for nearly a year; Living and working day-by-day with the people of that country. Nothing actually divides Ms. Jolie from any of us, except that generally Americans have grown used to our movie stars being dysfunctional, political, self-aggrandizing personalities. So how do we handle a mega-star adopting? A truly crazy-famous, strong, intelligent activist woman who chooses to build her life and family in her own style?
I believe the answer is: we follow her example. We embrace that which does no harm, but only seeks to promote the welfare of children. Many will argue that adopting as an unmarried couple negates the good of giving a child a family. Though on one side this may appear to be a moral issue, the question also must be asked, Who will parent all the children in orphanages?
Surely, loving this or any child cannot be wrong. And legally, since Ms. Jolie is not married she had to adopt as a single parent. Vietnamese law states that you have to be single or a married couple (man/woman) - since she isn’t married she had to adopt single. The requirements of Vietnam do not state that you can’t live with anyone. Each agency must make their own choice of whom they will accept as applicants. And each family must also choose: how will they grow?
For Ms. Jolie and Mr. Brad Pitt, the answer has been more complicated than what the world may view as ‘normal’. But as adoptive parents, how can we not embrace their choices? After visiting numerous orphanages and privately saying to myself, “If only I had the finances,” and finding myself wanting to do so much more, I know I am not alone in understanding how someone could choose this eclectic but fulfilling way to build a family. How much more so it must be for someone who regularly travels to refugee homes and orphanages to do humanitarian work?
However, the world press, those who crushed her windshield while in Vietnam, attacked her car, released private information to the world including her new son’s passport and her adoption papers, they AREN’T interested in you hearing about her good works, the supported schools, AIDS programs, new water wells or medical programs for orphans. You’ve heard their version of this story already.
Now I’m going to tell you the real story.
In the early summer of 2006, Ms. Angelina Jolie: Mother, Partner and parent with Brad Pitt, movie star and humanitarian worker was visiting with her daughter Zahara’s pediatrician, Dr. Jane Aronson.
Ms. Jolie had already gone through the homestudy process, approving her to adopt internationally. Dr. Jane is the founder of Worldwide Orphans Foundation (did you really think I could resist a plug for a wonderful charity?) which has done amazing work with orphans in Ethiopia . Dr. Jane has also adopted from Vietnam and Ethiopia . However the conversation may have gone, a call was soon made to the Pennsylvania adoption agency, Adoptions from the Heart .
“It was truly fate,” Vietnam adoption coordinator for AFTH Heidi Gonzalez reports. “This 3-year-old boy from Vietnam had been living in his orphanage since shortly after his birth. Our agency had (just prior to Ms. Jolie’s inquiry) recently received his referral and the report of what a wonderful little boy he is. His file was on my desk at the moment I received the call. Despite what others may believe, this was the first and only child presented to Ms. Jolie. It was meant to be.”
Adoptions from the Heart accepted the challenging opportunity to assist this young boy in finding his family. “We have been working with Vietnam since 1995. There were years when we supported the children and orphanages when adoption was closed to the US . Every child is precious to us, and we work for the best interest of each child, regardless of whether or not adoption is in his or her future,” Ms. Gonzalez stated.
In November of 2006, Ms. Jolie visited her son’s orphanage, though she knew her adoption was months away from being complete. “She chose to visit the toddler room in general, not to single him out,” shared Ms. Gonzalez, “in January she knew it was getting close, and she visited individually with Pax to begin the bonding process.” By this time, the Vietnam government had Ms. Jolie’s CIS approval and the first leak of the adoption had reached the world-wide press.
“Before that time, there were only two people in our office who knew of the adoption. Her file was kept under lock and key in my office,” said Ms. Gonzalez. Security, lawyers, hand-carrying documents and working with personal assistants were the norm. So, was this adoption that much different from others?
“Looking back, I guess you might see it that way. But on a day-to-day basis, not really. We had a single mom who was focused on her child. She wanted to make sure he was cared for and safe and the side-bar was keeping the news of the adoption from the media. She was doing a movie in India for part of the process and on a few hours notice she would fly in, exhausted, to re-do fingerprints or do one last homestudy update,” said Ms. Gonzalez, “The biggest difference was when it was time to travel for the actual adoption. We had to work with her security team and Vietnam, run through the process with them for when she would arrive, look at the security risks in each location and figure out how to minimize any problems. That was definitely different.”
The hardest part for everyone involved materialized in Ho Chi Minh City . The reports of the ridiculous actions of the press were understated. They attacked her car, breaking the windshield, attempting to puncture the tires in order to take more photos, relentlessly invading the cherished time that most adoptive parents, and presumably Ms. Jolie as well, see as priceless: That in-country bonding week or two. It was not possible to be just another adoptive parent. She had to be Angelina Jolie The Movie Star . Her adoption signing was accompanied by the Vietnamese press, she was requested to submit to being interviewed by a Vietnamese government newspaper just hours after receiving her son, and gracefully accepted being photographed for hours with government officials. She was there to adopt a childa private personal experience that was very special to her and to all adoptive parents.
And she missed it. She didn’t get that precious, private experience.
“She really had no problem doing interviews or sharing her photos. She had her own photographer with her, and simply asked that the privacy of all her children be respected. She wanted to have the process be special and private for her family. Unfortunately she didn’t have that opportunity,” said Ms. Gonzalez.
Imagine if you were in a taxi with your newest child on your lap, your cherished toddler to whom you had longed to show your love and bring into your family. Strangers were attacking the car, their mouths screaming, faces contorted, and cameras flashing into the cab of the vehicle. The world appears to desire to blame the Star. The person who wishes to build her family in a similar way that we adoptive-families build our own.
Are we part of that world? As individuals in the adoption community, we should band together and support all people who build their families through adoption.
Although accused of requesting and receiving preferential treatment due to only spending one week in Vietnam after the adoption of Pax (the normal time is 2 1/2 weeks), the truth is that the Vietnamese passport office processed Pax’s passport in one day DUE to the media’s outrageous and destructive behavior. Ms. Jolie and her family left only after it was apparent that there would be NO ability to explore Vietnam as a family, and airline ticket dates were changed for everyone.
The final question, the one many silently contemplate is this:
“What sort of Normal life will Pax Thien Jolie, or any of the children of Mega Movie Stars, live?”
I imagine that it will not be ‘normal’, as I or many others may see it. Or maybe it will. It all depends on how you look at the situation. But is that so terrible? Millions of people live normal lives. They’re not UN representatives. They don’t raise funds for AIDS orphans in Ethiopia, or drill wells for clean drinking water. I know of lots of normal and not-so-normal people who are to be admired. But the ones I respect most, all seem to have the same name and title: Mom.

There’s been quite an uproar in the adoption community. Email lists, bulletin boards and phones are alight with questions and speculation. And yet the general press appears frequently to get the story half-right, or never to address the questions closest to our hearts. We adoptive families are both part of the general populace, and also a world unto ourselves. The masses may wonder about this movie-star-mom growing her family in ‘alternate’ ways, while the adoptive community hosts quite a different range of inquiries. Questions such as:
* Did Angelina choose her child? (the answer is no )
* Why did Angelina only spend a week in Vietnam while other adoptive families spend 2-3 weeks processing their paperwork?
* How did Angelina adopt a child as a single parent when she was living with Brad Pitt?
* Did Angelina pay to expedite her adoption?
* Are Brad and Angelina adopting to expand their fame?
In the big picture, there is one side of this story; the story the entire world will hear and unfortunately, believe. In our world, there is the following story. One which involves most of those involved in this adoption and which I know to be the truth after talking to many of the parties involved. But first, let us be fair and address the history of this situation. In the end, all of the questions will be answered.
The unfortunate tabloid-fueled presentation to the world is this: Angelina Jolie: Movie Star and Collector of Children , went to Vietnam on a whim, ended up arbitrarily visiting an orphanage in November of 2006, picked out a child to add to her string of multicultural kids, and paid bribes to the Vietnamese government and to an US adoption agency to make it happen fast.
This is clichéd fiction that people accumulatively pay millions in magazine prices to read.
The truth is, Angelina Jolie is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador and mother of 4, three through adoption. Whisperings surrounding Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s relationship have increased to the point they’re becoming a little deafening.
But what on earth is true and what is complete baloney?
Well, if anyone would know it would be Ange’s brother James Haven - and he has managed to clear a few things up for us.
According to him, things couldn’t be better in the Brangelina camp.
He told Grazia: “The great thing about Brad and Angelina is that they really get each other’s sense of humour, and make each other laugh a lot.
“I have never seen any sign of tension between them.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — A gunman shot and wounded a woman at the CNN Center complex, Tuesday, prompting newsroom workers to scatter for safety.
A witness who is a CNN employee saw a male shoot a female twice in a street-level lobby area at the northeast end of the building, near the Omni hotel, which is part of CNN Center.
Police have a suspect in custody. (Watch guards keep bleeding suspect at gunpoint )
The condition of the woman is unknown.
Two people were transported on stretchers to separate ambulances. It was not known whether one of them was the shooter.
Police said the woman shot was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Immediately after the gunshots, workers in the CNN.com newsroom, which looks out over the Omni area, scrambled out of the building seeking cover.
Turner Security said a male and female were engaged in an argument and shots were fired.
Charles Williams, who works in technology services for Turner, saw a man dragging a woman by the hair one level above where the shooting occurred. The man told him to get out of the way. Williams went to get a guard, and then saw the man apparently take the woman downstairs. He heard gunshots less than a minute later.
CNN.com writer Brad Lendon said he heard a loud bang, and then saw a woman on the ground next to a potted plant near a back entrance to the CNN.com newsroom. A man stood over her “and fired at least two shots into her,” he said.
After the shots, Lendon said, the gunman “looked around, his head turning in my direction. I don’t know if he saw me, but at that moment the gravity of what I’d witnessed hit me. I turned away and tried to find the safest way I could out of the CNN.com newsroom.”

I get why you’re leery to discuss this; however, I read about this in Ted C.’s blog in 2006 and I think I stopped reading his blog around this time last year. It begs the question, if Ted C. reported on this for over a year ago and on a frequent basis, yet he never had scoop on the alleged Brad/Angelina affair, doesn’t that indirectly, imply that no affair occurred? Or could it be that for a while, Ted C. lost his edge and missed out on huge dirt like Kate and Owen, etc. and now he has regained his edge?

When MAMS came out I loved the chemistry between Brad and Angelina. I think Brad and Jen would never be so sexy together! NEVER! Angelina is prettier than her and looks better with Brad! When she got pregnant I was totally excited! And the familly getting bigger was a beautiful thing to see.
I never liked Jen but I found her relationship with Brad nice. So, when they broke up I liked, because I was his fan and hated her. And LOVED him with Angie! But I was always looking for his love with Jen and I never saw that. In the beggining I thought they were madly in love but not showing for respect to Jen, but until now, nothing.
I did NOT turn into a hater, I LOVE Angelina. I like Brad, too. He’s hot. But as much as some of you don’t like it, I have to admit: the haters were right. I have never seen Brad and Angie as affectionate as Brad and his ex.

We are all seeing what we want to see. Clearly Brad and Angie will never be like that. I know lovers will not believe me and call me all names they can. But guys, I have to say that: I’m over with Brangelina! They fell in lust with each other (because ANY person in this world would fall for Brad and/or Angelina! They are the best!). Regular fans know that false interviews are appearing left and right, so we only pay attention to Brad and Angie’s interviews. James Haven rarely comments about his sister. It’s another tactic….a brilliant one if you look at it from their point of view. There is absolutely no news about the JPs, so these mags make up things, hoping and prayings someone will clear the air, thereby giving them something to write about.
Thank you so much Leetle for posting that beautiful article about Angie’s adoption. Tears started to well up in my eyes as I read what Angie went through to adopt Pax and how it has been so distorted in the media. I’m currently reading her book, “Notes from My Travels,” and the article you posted just reinforces my belief that Angie is truly the most remarkable, compassionate, gracious and humble woman.
I dropped by to see if there were new photos of the family, but your posting was even a better surprise.

Oh thank you Lady G. I had asked if anyone could do a compilation of Z pictures showing her various looks at the paps. I don’t think anyone did, unless it appeared on the last thread, but I looked didn’t see it. But that is okay. Because one of the looks I wanted to see was in this video. She is really giving the evil eye to someone. I just love that look. She going to be something else. I hope daddy Brad is ready to deal with his little lady. Another one was the stand off in the toy store negotiating the stuff animals, and Brad carrying her in NY. He is looking over his shoulder to see what shse is doing, and she is making faces at the paps. All of the children are wonderfull, but as Angie Z, for right now has the biggest personality. We can only wait and see what little Shiloh is going to be like, and Pax. Mad is too cool to stare. Z just doesn’t give a damn. She doesn’t like them and she doesn’t care if they know it.
Don’t know how some of you feel about Star Jones, but I personally think Live From the Red Carpet was so much better when she did it then it is now with Seacrest. I saw her last night on CNN. She is good interviewer. She knows how to ask questions, and interesting questions. I would only wish that when AJ/BP decide to promote their new movies or whatever they would consider doing an interview with her. She would respect them, and not go for the tabloid jugular.
