Jake presented the former Friends star with the Vanguard Award for her contributions to increased visibility and understanding of the LGBT community. Previous winners include Cher, Eric McCormack (Will and Grace), and Charlize Theron.

You’re a brainwashed kid. I will not read the damn bible, it’s propoganda for Sheep. I don’t need to live my life by a book that was written by a bunch of old farts over thousands of years. It bugs me that Jen gets a Vanguard award for a two second kiss on “Dirt”. Cher has made huge contributions to further LGBT acceptance in society and both Eric M and Charlize had great acting roles that humanized LGBTs.
How is a two-second peck on a low rated cable show a significant “contribution to increased visibility and understanding of the LGBT community”????
hell, they shoulda given the Vanguard award to Rebecca Romijn for playing a recurring role as a transexual. That takes huge balls to do!!!
I agree, I think it is just liberal guilt that they have these stupid award shows with stupid categories.
Hollywood is considered liberal and leftist yet there are still no positive gay or lesbian characters or shows. Another thing is that there is also a problem with ethnic and racial diversity in Hollywood. I think Hollywood is full of hypocrites.

I’ve always thought these two should get together. They have great chemistry and seem to have a great friendsip too. Plus they are both good-looking people and easy-going. Jake was terrific in the The Good Girl & Brokeback Mountain, that one just broke my heart. I’d like to see them do another movie together and I would love it if they got together romantically. What a hook up that would be!

I agree dani, but even if Jake were gay people of both sexes would adore him anyway. He just has a great personality. And you are right, people can’t leave the so called “triangle” alone, not even here where Brad & Angie have no place. It’s the same on the BAMPZS threads, people insist on dragging Jen’s name in when the thread has nothing to do with her. But some dirtbags just have to drag them in.
Oh and selwyse …..Cher and Charlize have both been recognized by the LGBT community. But every little bit helps, don’t know if you are gay/lesbian or not but I have friends who are and they have said they appreciate any support they can get.
You/me, my issue isn’t with LGBT characters or the community getting any support they can get but I guess I am skeptical over GLAAD “awarding” this seemingly important award to what amounted to . . .a minor cameo. GLAAD chose publicity over, dare I say it, substance. Sure, Jen gets magazine covers and rings up huge hits for blogs so I can see the reason behind wanting to give this to her instead of a “lesser” celeb like Romijn. But Romijn’s role as Alexis shows so many facets of a transsexual character (groundbreaking, really) while . . .Jen and CC shared a faux- lesbo, straight audience titillating kiss calculated to garner tons of press and with little substance or understanding. If this is what GLAAD considers “contribution to increased visibility and understanding of the LGBT community”, well, it makes me sad.

Your comment is a bit ridiculous and stereotypical.
Even if Jake is gay or bi , with Austin, etc. I don’t think a kiss between friends (which I think Jake and Jen are) means it is fake. You know gay/bi men can kiss or enjoy women. Even though I don’t know him, I think Jake may be bisexual and yes I do think he enjoys being around both men and women.
Jakey Poo is adorable and hot. I love him! Jennifer looks very good here. I love the dress. I wish she would do something new to her hair but if it’s not broken why fix it.
